SportsRe: Rio 2016 Olympics: Okagbare Not Banned — AFN by Afam4eva(m): 5:23pm On Sep 09, 2015
This sounds more like it. The AFN have no moral justification to ban anyone especially Okagbare given the fact that she has given her all to Nigeria more than Nigeria has given to her. banning her will be an idiotic move as other countries will snap her immediately.

not so cool a country to learn Spanish. I would recommend you go to Peru or Ecuador. the later was recommended by CNN this year as the best place to learn Spanish. the enviroment is friendly and drug gang war free.
and you alone can live off $200 in a month.
colombia bogota and mexico is nice but you don't wanna go there babes.
You've still not given a good reason why Costa Rica is not a good place to learn Spanish. Do they speak a different kind of Spanish?

WARRI WOLVES
Kano Pillars
Enyimba
Heartland and rangers
You guys are just umbeleivable. Who knows Warri Wolves in Nigerian football. I can still understand Kano pillars owing to their success in recent times. The best Nigerian clubs ever are:

1. Enyimba / Enugu Rangers (This is debatable)
2. Heartland (Formerly Iwuanyawu)
3. 3sc Shooting Stars
4. Kano Pillars
5. Insurance

The best Nigerian clubs in the last decade are:
1. Enyimba
2. Kano Pillars
3. Enugu Rangers
SportsRe: Blessing Okagbare Banned From Rio Olympics by Afam4eva(m): 12:47pm On Sep 09, 2015
safarigirl:
She should be banned. Why tell lies? Does C. Ronaldo resort to lies to skip obligations? It's only in Nigeria such unethical behaviour is condoned and encouraged. Make we go mark attendance, no wahala, abi Blessing been no dey London in 2012? She win medal? She can sit home next year and watch others in Rio. And please, she can't make the US team
If you know what these our athletes go through in the hands of those running sports in Nigeria, you wont blame them. I'm not holding brief for her but we have to put our sports together starting from those at the helm of affairs before blaming our athletes. If she's banned from participating in the RIO Olympics, then we can as well stay house as she's our only hpope for a medal. We wouldn't want to embarrass ourselves further.

PoliticsLet's Give Buhari A Chance Despite The Distractions by Afam4eva(op): 5:18pm On Sep 06, 2015
I created a topic in February 2011 here https://www.nairaland.com/599130/lets-give-gej-chance appealing to Nairalanders to give Jonathan a chance. I stated my reasons and it had nothing to do with Jonathan being a proven performer. I thought that since he was not part of the typical cabal, that he would bring something different to the table. Even though his ideas were not typical, he did not have the will to see them true, so in essence i will say that his government was a monumental failure and this is coming from someone who tries as much as possible to see things from an objective standpoint.

it is funny that days or weeks after i created that particular thread, i started campaigning against Jonathan though not ferociously. Needless to say, i ended up voting for Buhari in 2011 when a lot of people that are now Shouting Sai Buhari up and down were still writing WAEC (no offence). I went with Buhari owing to the "Man of Integrity" caption being sold to Nigerians at the time and only few southerners bought into it.

Now, leading to the 2015 election, i had made up my mind that Jonathan was not n option for reasons earlier stated but i was no longer comfortable with Buhari because of the people he was now doing business with and i became a neutral observer but preferred a Buhari to win as opposed to a Jonathan.

Post election Nigerian political space has been been filled with a lot of drama as it seems Buhari is not your typical political that gives in to public demands that are filled with tribal and religious considerations. Some say he is an unrepentant religious and tribal bigot and has in no small measure given them a room to believe this thought process. On the other hand, his supporters have been on the defensive about his regional leanings. As an Igbo man who is known as a fighter for the Igbo course, i have also registered my displeasure https://www.nairaland.com/2557783/people-right-buhari about the total neglect of South-Easterners in the appointments made so far.

however, after going through some arguments in support of Buhari, i have decided that what is more important is for Buhari to fix Nigeria and specifically cite projects in the South East and not necessarily where his personell comes from. So, i implore everyone to sheath their sword and support this man. One year down the line, i'll open my arsenal ready for attack depending on how he performs.

God Bless Nigeria
PoliticsRe: Enugu, The Pride Of The East. by Afam4eva(m): 5:29pm On Sep 05, 2015
MrEverest:
I am impressed to say the least, this is the kind of self-help projects Igbos are well known for. Mbakwe built the imo airport and some other projects through this means. Onye ajuru aju anaghi aju onwe ya, even if FG abandons us as they have done since independence, we have all it takes to set the pace in Nigeria, we have continued to have the highest literacy rate, lowest incidence of poverty, highest percentage of deliveries by qualified health personnel, the states of Imo, Anambra and Abia have consistently been among states with the highest enrollment rates into unity schools and universities, I can go on and on to list all the areas igbos have consistently led the pack in Nigeria despite FG orchestrated subjugation, all these were achieved simply because of our liberal and capitalist society, healthy rivalry between constituent parts and self help projects such as this one planned by WIC. There should be a synergy between S.East governors, WIC and Ohanaeze ndigbo to fashion out modalities where we can build world class universities, hospitals, malls, office buildings and estates etc in Igbo cities like Enugu, Owerri, Onitsha, Aba, Asaba,p.harcourt ,Abakiliki, Umuahia etc. Believe me, we have the human resources within Nigeria and in the diaspora to achieve such, we can even float a company that would be quoted in the stock exchange and its shares sold to interested Nigerians to realize more capital. I believe there is a new consciousness or reawakening among Igbos in thinking home. Another of such is what Prof Barth Nnaji did in Abia state by building geometric power plant(dedicated to industries in Aba) with world bank assisted funds in Osisioma, Aba, that singular project have resuscitated moribund companies like PZ and Nigerian breweries, hopefully Unilever and many others will bounce back and the new governor needs to improve on the roads and waste disposal and then hype Aba to attract investments and what former minster of Industries(Charles Ugwu) did in Ebonyi by building one of the biggest modern rice mills(Ebony rice) Finally, a refinery somewhere between Owerri and Oguta in Imo state will help the economy of the S.east, if only Rochas is serious he can provide part of the funds and then lure foreign investors and Igbo diaspora to invest in it. Now is the time jump-start the S.East economic tiger!!!
Thanks for crossing out Port-hacourt. Finally, someone who understands the reality of things. Every other thing that you have written is spot on.

Women get wahali no be small. It's the same women that will go from one church to ther other praying for a life partner and when they eventually get married, they end their marriage over flimsy issues such as this. You cook for them, serve him and can't just travel a bit further to dish his food? I'm not saying it is right or wrong but don't bring problems unto your marriage for something so flimsy.

You're welcome.
How I wish the Ogwumike sisters - Chiney (6'3'') and Nneka (6'2'') - were playing for Nigeria. Nneka has already played for the US Women's national team.
Are you sure about this? I know she has played for the under aged US team but not the main team. That girl was the WNBA number 1 overall draft. She and her sister will definitely add some muscle to this team.

TV/MoviesRe: Will Smith's Terrible Nigerian Accent As Dr. Bennet Omalu In "Concussion” by Afam4eva(m): 1:59pm On Sep 01, 2015
nairalandist:
Even Dr. Omalu himself doesn't sound like a typical Nigerian... I played both videos and I heard the way he spoke, that's like a middle-belt Nigeria accent, not the typical Nigerian City accent. Either ways, I'd say Will is a fantastic actor... I think they should have used Adewale Agbaje for the role, but it's okay, Will Smith's a bigger name so it's better for business. . .
Is Middlebelt in cotonou? Who said anything like a typical Nigerian accent? What is a typical Nigerian accent?

Adewale Agbaje wouldn't have delivered this role properly and that is why despite being in the industry for decades, he is yet to the main character in any major hollywood production owing to his physical build. I think Ejiofor or Oyelowo sounds more like it.

Nice. Same with me as well, but I was never good enough. Coupled with the fact my handle was rubbish. I just left it for football (I'm a talented footballer and I would've most likely made it to pro-level if I never broke my leg in sch, and my parents stopping me from playing too tough. But I still played till Uni level and played for my Uni). Anyway, I still play pick-up basketball whenever I can.

The movie goes a long way to show to the world the ingenuity and hardwork of Nigerians and Igbos wherever they are. The director of IT, Division of IT of my school is Nigerian, Uche by the name, and he calls the shot like a boss. Oyibos love to test his intelligence always but Uche is always 10 steps ahead of them! cheesy

Will Smith is a great Actor but as a Nigerian i'm waiting to be embarrassed at his portrayal of a Nigerian because Hollywood just never seem to portray Africa properly. Not that it matters since Nigeria is not their target audience.

Mr. Afam, I just wanted to remind you of your words.

The fact that we were disorganized in the past does not mean you cannot do an objective analysis of the future.

We won this tournament without any contribution from our best player.
WOW, we beat Angola? This is good to know and it's also good to know that i was wrong and you were right.

Can we analyze this team just a lil bit cos i couldn't understand why were were always going down to Angola considering the fact that we had NBA level players. Was it the players, coaches or tactics?
