Jobs/VacanciesRe: I Lied About My Degree In Order To Apply For A Job by Afam4eva(m): 10:17am On Aug 28, 2015
Kacyrose:
I saw a job vacancy in a reputable company, which I think I am qualified apart from my degree. Only those with 1st class and 2.1 are qualified to apply for the job but I had to lie that I had 2.1 (but I truely had 2.2) in order to get access to continue with the application for the job.
I don't know what to do if I should get shortlisted for the job. Should I forget about it or go on with the interview even when I know that they will discover that I didn't meet up with one of their requirements. I am so confused
A criminal, that's what you are.

What he is saying that if you can only trust people from your family who believe in your philosophy then you can make all your appointments from your family alone. As long as they perform, who cares? This verbal idiocy has gone on for too long and people have begun wearing shame as a favorite past time. These set of people think they're talking to children. How can someone who claims to be the president of a country not have a trusted network that cuts across the geo zones and tribes.

I don't have to go out of my way to satisfy you NOW. I can always do that at a more convenient time.

Buhari will surely out-perform Jonathan and all past presidents since democracy returned. So, what "suffer"?
I was referring to your inability to present something you called FACT.
PoliticsRe: Were People Right About Buhari? by Afam4eva(op): 9:24pm On Aug 27, 2015
PassingShot:
I am unfortunately not so available to search for the list now but the fact remains that there were more Southerners in GEJ's regime than Northerners. The Southerners were more of SE/SS and a handful of SW.
Of course, THE FACT that you cannot present. But the fact still remains. Nigeria don suffer.

1toRtoiSe1:
what if he appoints 80% Ibos in his cabinet and at the end of the day he prevents them from doing anything meaningful for the SE, how will you feel? I believe you'll still go about rejoicing and dancing cos your brothers are in high positions while your roads remain poor just as you did under GEJ and his ibo administration.
Whi is talking about appointing Igbos so that they can do something for the SE. lady, do you think you're talking to keep or do you think this is a nursey rhyme session? if you don't have anything meaningful to add, don't quote. This is as ridiculous as it gets.

I will look for the document and present to you later. Maybe not 70% but you cannot argue that it was skewed in favour of SS and SE.

Besides, did where his appointees came from had any significant effect on his performance? His Otuoke community recently cried out for lack of potable water and other basic amenities?
Of course, run and go get the document deliberated aimed at supporting the lies that you want to believe. if you want to be true to yourself, get a list of all Jonathan's appointees including ministers, heads of government parastatal and corporations, only then can you get the true story. Dude, Northerners dominated Jonathan's government just like they have dominated past governments and will continue to dominate. The only difference is that in Jonathan's government, there was some semblance of equity but they still had more people in government.

Please, don't patronize me with Jonathan's failures. It has been a consensus and i agree that the guy fail, so stop using it to support Buhari's obvious bias. Are you telling me that just because Jonathan failed, then Buhari has the moral right to appoint his people from the North? Are there no credible people from the south to fill these positions? Are all the men of integrity from the North?

A religious bigot that recently canceled govt's sponsorship of Hajj? A religious bigots who have probably equal number of Muslim and Xtian appointees in his govt so far?

Sure the appointments have clearly skewed in favour of North but was Jona termed an ethnic bigot when over 70% of his appointments were skewed in favour of the South?

I don't like these latest appointments but let's talk factually and responsibly.
I just hate defending Jonathan but when some people make it a habit to be misinformed, i have to say something. Do you have any proof whatsoever that 70% of Jonathan's appointees were southerners or that there were more southerners than Northerners in his government. I've seen you guys throw such half baked facts around and it's becoming embarrassing. You have to understand that the North will always win whether an Ijaw, Igbo or Yoruba man is the president. Nigerian structure has just been setting in such a motion that they just always have to win. Do you think they would fold their arms and watch Jonathan appoint 70% of his staff from the South? Do you even think Jonathan has the mind to go through with it?

@OP, a mistake in your thread: PMB may not have appointed someone from the SE but Dr. Ibe Kachukwu, the GMD of NNPC is Igbo.
How is it a mistake when i never said Igbo. is my post that ambiguous that you don't understand what South-East means in the Nigeria geographical lexicon?
PoliticsRe: Were People Right About Buhari? by Afam4eva(op): 8:32pm On Aug 27, 2015
1toRtoiSe1:
what if the people he appoints, which currently aren't from you stock, perform and end up being the ones to facilitate a 2nd niger bridge, a SE seaport, federal roads, federal presence etc in the SE, will you still prefer he had appointed based on ethnicity equality? Remember how GEJ appointed mostly from SE. No one complained until they started looting and not performing.

Wait till his appointees fail before you wail. That was what the SW did concerning GEJ's administration.
Some of you just dont understand what it means to be a leader. The fact that our nation has been riddled with under-development and de-development like forever does not mean that, that is all that matters. Apart from having good roads, hospitals et al, we need a leader that will unite the country and not one who makes statements such as 95%-5%. One issue that has thrived for so long is ethnic and religious intolerance and you think that building the second Niger bridge, a seaport or whatever means everything is not well with Nigeria? You sure have a lot to learn.

I am fully persuaded that at the end of the 1year, some naboobs of negativism will still say its too early to criticize the sole administrator.

Actually some people (including me) say we don't care because we actually don't care. Successive governments have used Federal character in their appointments and where has that gotten us to?
I believe you and that is why i also don't have a problem with it as such. But that's not to say that he's not playing the script of those who ascribed to him an ethnic and religious bigot.
PoliticsWere People Right About Buhari? by Afam4eva(op): 7:35pm On Aug 27, 2015
This is not to cast any atom of doubt on Buhari's ability to lead and produce results after all, most of his opponents who were members of the electorate did not vote for him because they think he wont perform. Many of these people disliked him for the fact that they thought he was a tribalist and religious bigot. I personally paid no attention to what was flying around about Buhari pre-election, not necessarily because i thought what people were saying were lies but because those things could not be substantiated especially by me personally. So, i did what i have always done and that is to give people the benefit of the doubt. Personally, i felt Jonathan was a complete failure and thought we needed to try something different. Buhari may not have been my prefered choice out of the number of technocrats that i saw in APC but since he was presented, i kinda preferred him over Jonathan.

Now coming to the purpose of this thread. Doesn't it make some of us look stupid when it seems like Buhari is inching closer to the person they painted him to be. I mean, some Buhari supporters will make statements like "I don't care where the person Buhari appoints comes from as long as he is capable". Of course, statements such as these make people to sleep well at night and not look like complete idiots in the presence of people who would say "Didn't i warn you?". Anybody with an iota of common sense would see that this present dispensation has been riddled with an increase of Northern elements and it is glaring even to the blind. How do you explain the fact that after almost 20 appointments made so far. Only less than 5 are from the south. Not even a single person from the South-East has been appointed to any position. I know Igbos are the group of people we love to hate but this just isn't fair in my opinion. If you want to defend Buhari's pattern of appointments, i think your best bet would be to tell us how Southern Nigeria are so corrupt that it will be hard to find men of integrity or how the North boast of more educated individuals who are unrivaled.

In the spirit of giving Buhari, the benefit of the doubt, my 1 years grace period is still counting. After then, i'll have something to say about his government.

PoliticsRe: FG Sets Up Committee On National Airline by Afam4eva(m): 11:02pm On Aug 24, 2015
CFCfan:
Ethiopian and SAA are wholly govt owned, but they are run as a corporation. Their national governments do not interfere in business or technical issues; and civil service rules are not applied to the airlines.

Kenyan govt only has 29% shares Kenyan airways. The rest are held by KLM, and individuals.
We know government has failed us in the past but i'm not one of those who agree with the long held notion that government should not be in business. If you have a government that is responsible then it can own 100% in my opinion. if NNPC can be made to work, i don't see why a national carrier can't. it can be run as an independent corporation as opposed to a government parastatal.
PoliticsRe: FG Sets Up Committee On National Airline by Afam4eva(m): 10:51pm On Aug 24, 2015
CFCman:
Having read some expert arguments for/against the establishment of a national carrier, I'm firmly in favor of setting one up.
But the FG, shouldn't have majority equity in the airline; it should be a private-sector driven carrier. Arik air's proposed IPO, which will open up ownership stakes of the airline to the public, may be a move on their part to get the FG to designate the airline as a flag-carrier.
I'll like to know what the likes of kenya Airways, South African Airways and Ethiopia airways are doing. That's exactly what we should be doing.

pazienza:
You have no time for Kanu and radio Biafra, yet here you are commenting on a thread dedicated to Kanu and Radio Biafra, are you suffering from a kind of cognitive dissonance?

If you work in Arewa-Oduanistan or you have investments there, or maybe loved ones there, better start relocating them to the SE and Anioma, many wise Igbos are relocating to Igboland, Real estate business is currently booming in Enugu and Asaba, because of mass return of Igbos from the Arewa-Oduanistan to Biafra.

If you think the rest of Ndiigbo will remain trapped in a retrogressive union with Arewa-Odua just so that your selfish and senseless addiction to their( Arewa-Odua)lands will be preserved, then you must be joking.

Something massive is about to happen, don't be caught up in the wrong side of history, saboteurs are not usually treated with kid gloves.
You guys should learn to divorce Igbo matters away from Kanu's Biafra or Biafra for that matter. I don't know where people like you stand exactly. Are you in support of Kanu's utterances?

Kenneth plays roles kids like Alex and Mike are supposed to play, very immature. He's always a ridiculously dressed Prince or 'Don' falling for one girl that was in pre-school when he started his acting career. And don't even get me started on his clown get-up, looking like a prince at calabar carnival with feathers and sequins. Kenneth needs to get behind the camera
Blame the directors. Andy has always been one of my favourites and it does not include the roles he has played for the past 5 years.
