good4all: Outspoken former Aviation Minister, Femi Falana-Kayode is in the news again this time its about his response to Obasanjo's open letter to President Jonathan. When did FFK start answering Falana? These ogbanje bloggers won't just stop. @topic I don't expect anything else from FFK. He has his mind madeup about Jonathan already. |

yawa-ti-de: ^^^ There are various French dialects. Same applies to Spanish, English, etc but I am sure they are using the "central" version. If they went with every dialect, it wouldn't make sense.
Also, as with every initial translation, there are bound to be mistakes. It will get better with time though, with each passing iteration. It's not exactly dialects. It's just different words used to describe the same thing. I don't expect them to include all the dialects. But they should endeavor to make it more flexible. |

Alikaxon: Lagos and Abuja are exluded, for it is obvious they are the most important cities. Aside from lagos and Abuja, the next 3 most important cities is what we are emphasizing. I think: Benin city, Port harcourt, and Agbor, are the top 3 after Lag and Abj. Is Agbor among the top 3 towns in Delta state let alone Nigeria? When will you people stop being sentimental in everything. |

I thought it had been for some time.
There's something i noticed though. I typed an Igbo sentence and it didn't give me the exact English translation that i wanted until i changed the dialect. I think they have to make it open for different Igbo word usage. For instance, "Olisa gozie gi(God bless you)" did not give me what i wanted until i typed "Chukwu gozie gi". |

In what sense? Since you mentioned Lagos and Abuja then i'll asume you're referring to the most important cities. The top 3 most important cities are Lagos, Abuja and Porthacourt then before the regional capitals of Enugu, Ibadan and Kaduna. |

long live Enugu state. I also think that's what is left. I wonder how that will be achieved. I think the business potentials should be tapped. |

IGBO-SON: ^^^I've lost confidence in the Imo governor! He just makes noise (admittedly he's less vocal nowadays), with nothing solid on ground to show for his state having the highest budget in the region! All you see are uncompleted jobs/roads littered all over the state, and all you hear are stories of Rochas coming to blows with the local/inexperienced contractors that either do substandard jobs or run off with the money altogether! You never hear of such issues with Enugu: the jobs are given to competent contractors, and before you know it, you're looking at a job finished to relative high standards.
Rochas is now in his third year as governor, and all the only completed project is the secondary school in Owerri......and a few roads not quite finished to world class standards! I think Rochas is a good man and wants the best for his people but there's a difference between being good and having the administrative abilities to manage a state. How come we never hear about governors fighting contractors from other states like Enugu or even Anambra? |

Culture › Re: Delta Igbo, Bendel Igbo: What Does That Even Mean. by Afam4eva(op): 10:38am On Dec 11, 2013 |
I think the only reason why this argument is moving non-stop is because you guys have always put Anioma in one bracket. We have to speak on the specific groups that makeup Anioma or Delta-Igbo. The Aniocha people don't have a problem with their Igbo identity. Those that deny their Igbo identity from Aniocha are in the minority. It's mostly people from Ika and Ukwuani that have a problem with the Igbo identity but there are still people from those parts who are proud Igbop and right here in the forum, we have the likes of One_Naira, wesley, Ify_angela etc. I think we should seize from describing Igboship from a territorial point of view but from a personal point of view. There are proud Igbos in ikwerre, ika, Ukwuani, Ndoni etc and also people who don't see themselves as Igbos. |
