Chino72: Yes, you cannot talk about development in Anambra without talking about development in Anambra generally. This is because Obi has not limited himself only in the state capital like some has done without foresight.
Read the thread title again. it says Awka. So, this thread should be about the state capital, Awka.
PoliticsRe: Awka: Anambra's Capital by Afam4eva(m): 3:16pm On Oct 12, 2013
Chino, open a new thread for development strides in Anambra. This thread is for Awka specifically. I like what i'm seeing though.
PoliticsRe: Awka: Anambra's Capital by Afam4eva(m): 3:12pm On Oct 12, 2013
Chino72: Its quite disheartening that you see only road as the only benefits of democracy.
Please just post pictures of Obi's achievement be it roads, bridges, schools, hospitals etc. Just anything will do.

o'boy:
i cant seem to understand why anambra thread always degenerates to abia vs anambra, enugu vs anambra e.t.c?
Odiro mma nu,biko nu
That's because Chino changes the goal post to distract people from the fact that Obi hasn't done much in Anambra like he'll want us to believe.
PoliticsRe: Awka: Anambra's Capital by Afam4eva(m): 2:43pm On Oct 12, 2013
Chino72: Does it matter? All the states should be scrutinized.

This is your hypocrisy we are talking about. You allowed all manner of things to follow on the other thread now you realize we should not derail this. Odinma
All states must be scrutinized and i encourage you to open a thread on Enugu and any other state that tickles your fancy but pls, don't forget to do justice to this thread as well.
PoliticsRe: Awka: Anambra's Capital by Afam4eva(m): 2:37pm On Oct 12, 2013
Chino72: Its a promise, am coming sooner than later with a thread about the Enugu state people do not know. Enugu state does not start and end with the small enugu urban!
Why not use that time to gather pictures of Obi's achievement and post them here. Is it easier for you to look for bad pictures of Enugu and other states than to look for pictures of places that are right under your nose.
PoliticsRe: Awka: Anambra's Capital by Afam4eva(m): 2:29pm On Oct 12, 2013
INNO18: grin i'm so enjoying this show, Afam, just dont ban chino when he starts to post pics of Enugu ooo. wink
That will be derailing. He can create a new thread for that.
SportsRe: Nigerian Players That Deserve Super Eagles Call-up by Afam4eva(m): 2:24pm On Oct 12, 2013
Syenite: I am nt completely rulling out injuries, u should know by now that we have a regular 3 forwards( Emenike, Moses, Musa) and a back 4 forwards (Nwofor, Nsofor, Ideye, Ameobi). Anichebe, Martins, Akpom, Obasi and co are for now nt doing better than either our regulars or the subs. Period.
Can you tell me that Ideye and Ameobi deserve to be in that team better than Anichebe, Obasi and even Martins. Is it the same Ideye that gets 100 scoring chances and converts one?
PoliticsRe: Awka: Anambra's Capital by Afam4eva(m): 2:17pm On Oct 12, 2013
Chino72: Yes, am not mincing words when I told you that Obi has brought the 'eldorado' to Anambra.

Development is all inclusive:

-Eduation

-Health

-Industrial drive

-Employment generation etc

Now tell me the position of Enugu state on the afore-mentioned? The answer is as good as zero!

Now that does not remove the fact the Chime used almost all the allocation on the Enugu urban road tarring. painting and flowering. I still commend him because he was far better than Chimaroke. Okay, what is the position and condition of Enugu state concerning academic excellence? Can you now say that enugu state under chime has done well in edcation? Or because he put all the allocation on those eye-catchy projects that were made to deceive the gullible masses. I have horrible pictures of roads in Udi, Ngwo, Oji River, 9th mile, Awgu, Ugwuaji etc, but am restrained each time I want post them.

If we are to look at the overall development embracing all the sectors, then Obi is a model trounces Chime and others in the SE. Fact!
If that's the case then ejim afa Chukwu okike to beg you to pls post the pictures of this eldorado that you're talking about. You can make your job easier by posting pictures instead of arguing and fighting all over the place. Pictures speak more than a thousand words. Pls, post pictures and God will bless you and your family.
SportsRe: Sunday Mba Vows To Shame Critics by Afam4eva(m): 2:12pm On Oct 12, 2013
It's advisable not to put your hope in Nigerians cos they can use and dump. Is this not the same Sunday Mba that everyone was praising for helping us win the nations cup? Just some months after, we're already badmouthing him. It's the same thing that we did to Ikechukwu Uche. We called him the best NIgerian player before the nations cup and after that, we started calling for his exclusion in the team. Nigerians, may una fear God.
SportsRe: Nigerian Players That Deserve Super Eagles Call-up by Afam4eva(m): 2:06pm On Oct 12, 2013
Syenite: Compare Anichebe/Obasi with Emenike/Moses/Musa/Nwofor. Is Anichebe/Obasi better? If yes then they deserve a call-up, else they should stay put where they are for now.
Who's talking about who's better and who's not. We're talking about possible additions. So, what will you do if the likes of Emenike, Moses and Musa are injured, will you rather put Babatunde or Gambo instead of Anichebe or Obasi?
PoliticsRe: Awka: Anambra's Capital by Afam4eva(m): 2:03pm On Oct 12, 2013
Chino72: Afam, atime I don't know if you are mod or biased one for that matter. How can you talk smite Obi over the ongoing reconstruction of Onitsha-Awka-Enugu federal highway? Awka as is, is a growing city with UN-Habitat Masterplan. All the state roads have been taken care of except for the ongoing federal roads. I challenge you to show us what Chime has achieved outside Enugu capital? Enugu state indigenes are still all over Onitsha looking for their greener pastures.

Can we do a side by side assessment of Obi and Chime on these areas:

-Anambra Teaching Hospital and Enugu Hospital Teaching

-Education in Anambra and Education in Enugu state

-Employment generation in Anambra and Employment general in Enugu state

-State-wide infrastructural development in Anambra and state-wide infrastructural development in Enugu state

Lets look at development from these perspective rathat than looking at few painted and flowered roads.
I don't have the weapons in my arsenal to compare Obi and Chime because i'm not on ground but i'm moved by what i see. I have seen hundres if not thousands of pictures of projects undertaken by Chime in Enugu and i'll say i'm really impressed but there's been a dearth of pictures of Peter Obi's projects. We've been told that one of Peter Obi's strong points are the rural roads but no one seems to be bringing pictures of these roads. The only time i see pictures of the supposed Obi's achievements, i hide my head in shame cos i know Anambra deserves better. Enugu is not perfect and a whole lot still needs to be done especially in the rural areas but with what i've seen across board, i'll rate Chime highly.
SportsRe: Nigerian Players That Deserve Super Eagles Call-up by Afam4eva(m): 2:00pm On Oct 12, 2013
Anichebe deserves to be called up to this team. He's a good addition to the frontline. Chinedu Obasi is also a good player and should be called up.
SportsRe: Super Eagles Arrive In Ethiopia (Pictures) by Afam4eva(m): 1:59pm On Oct 12, 2013
Mikel is actually our biggest star at the moment. I'm sure those Ethopian fans don't know any of the other players except for maybe Victor Moses. How come we don't have stars anyone. Imagine if Okocha, Kanu, Martins, Yakubu were still in this team.
CultureRe: Is Igbo A Relevant Language? by Afam4eva(m): 1:45pm On Oct 12, 2013
ketoprofen: OK. After telling u about Igbo urban musicians, u replied that they are no longer popular.
Well, many went into Recording and Productions which give u more money but less fame.
Otherwise they were popular before.

Meanwhile,
Ndi Hausa ole na agu urban music na enwu enwu na Nigeria, ka o na ha abughi 'a large ethnic group '.

Moreover, I don't think u stay in the east. How can u say young ppl don't listen to Sunny Bobo? Is it the grandfathers that do so.

I agree with u in the area of Igbo movies. They got that one Capital zero.
The bolded is one of the major problems of Ndigbo. Why the need to always compare yourself to others to look relevant? Are the Northerners as educated and open minded than easterners? Let's learn to tell ourselves the truth cos that's the only way we can move forward.

Anyways, in the music area, Igbo content can still be seen though more work needs to be done but in the movies, it's ZERO. Nothing is hapening there as far as Igbo movies are concerned.
SportsRe: Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL): Super4 Returns! by Afam4eva(m): 1:42pm On Oct 12, 2013
Eze Promoe: No na, it won't be fair. Let's take for example Kano Pillars won the league and El-Kanemi came fourth in the table and then wins the Super Four, will it be fair naming El-Kanemi the league champions?
The Super Four is a different competition with its own trophy. And also note that the 2013/2014 Nigeria Professional Football League new season will start by November 22 (3-4 weeks after this season ends), so they just have to rush it all in order to finish it up before the World cup starts in June.

Ok, i remember now. The Super 4 was used to decide the winner of the league when the league was divided into two groups(North and South). The top two teams from each of the zones and the competed for the premier league crown. I guess it won't make sense now since all the teams play in one group/
SportsRe: Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL): Super4 Returns! by Afam4eva(m): 1:04pm On Oct 12, 2013
Eze Promoe: ^Nope, it's usually after the league have ended, then the clubs that ended among the first four will play another championship called the Super Four, which is a pre season tournament.
Last season Kano won the premier league but where beaten in the finals of the Super four to Heartland.

I'm asking cos there was a time the winner of the league was determined at the super 4 competition. If what you said is the truth then the super 4 is useless. What they should have done is to follow international best practices by pairing the winners of the league and the FA cup to play each other. Not at the end of the season but before the new season begins.

ketoprofen: Better.
But u forgot Dekumzy, Desperate Chicks, sunny bobo, J martins, Nigga Raw, Slow Dog and the unpopular ones.
Anyway, who said the young didn't listen to osondi owendi and Akanchawa when they reigned? I biakwa.
The young listened to those songs back in the days but not today. The young these days are attracted to funkified music and you have to give them that but in Igbo.

I really find it annoying wwhen a big ethnic group as Igbos brandish the list you just brandished as a sign thaat Igbo musicians are singing in Igbo language. How popular is Dekumzy? Apart from his popular hit "I celebrate", which other one has he released that's listended to nationally? Sunny Bobo is a local Igbo musician and it's motly the older people that listen to him. What percentage of Igbo content do you find in J Martin's songs? When last did Nigga raw release a song let alone a popular one? And who is slow dog?

Music/RadioRe: Who's Better Between Phyno And Olamide In Freestyling? by Afam4eva(m): 12:47pm On Oct 12, 2013
airmark: I have listened to phyno and he is good but olamide is better and one of the best freestylers I know in nigerian rap terrain, vector is better though. If something is beyond your knowledge you shut it and learn. A good freestyler is not difficult to notice outta his rap songs once you yourself is a real head. This is who you are not and needs to back off.
I'm not a rap affiocionado but one thing is certain, i thump you as far as understanding the basics of rap is concerned. You still don't know the meaning of freestyling even after i have taken time to educate you by directing to to a wikipedia article. It's not about listening to Phyno but about listening to him freestyle. Some artiste may release smash rap hits but fall short when asked to improvise. That's what this thread is about. If you've not listened to him freestyle like you posited then you're not in a good position to judge him. You have proven once again that your knowledge of music is somewhere between zero and astronomical.
PropertiesRe: Mark Zuckerberg Buys Neighbouring Houses For Privacy by Afam4eva(m):
This just supports the notion that Billionaires hate neigbours. We remember how Bill gates bought an estate in Washington state and chased all the neigbours away by using money to slap them. The same with Ellison of Oracle that bough a whole beach front in Malibu, California and payed of all his neigbors to have his privacy. I intend doing the same too. The whole Bannana island will be mine. Yuzedo should look for alternative accomodation cos i'm buying everything grin

There's no way i will be the governor of Anambra state and travel to Uyo and come back leaving this place looking like this. The world has moved beyond this.

I feel the same way as you. There's nothing i've not heard from Pro-Obi people on this forum about how Obi has built heaven on earth and how there's a staircase to heaven built in Awka and when asked to produce photos, they embarrassingly provide what i see on this thread as achievement. They don't know that they're indirectly encouraging mediocrity.

ketoprofen: Ur last clause is what am talking about.
Also, I don't totally agree with u in the area of music
If you say Igbo gospel and traditional music then i'll agee with you but the world is moving forward and a lot of our people especially the young don't listen to songs like Osondi Owendi or Akanchawa. They now listen to modern Urban music and we're lacking in this area. Apart from few people like Ill Bliss, Phyno, Flavour that sing modern music in Igbo language, a lot of musicians of Igbo root don't. We have to move with the trend but still maintain the Igbo content.
