Follow people who are better or more successful than you and their success will rub off on you.

They both followed Tobi and 'Miraku' respectively and see how things are just going well for them. grin grin grin

Going by defintion of a “legend”......dagrin is/was a legend......take it or take it tongue
Yes, he's a legend but not necessarily because of the quality of his body of work but because he was elevated by music lovers. He wasn't even an established artiste before he died.
CelebritiesRe: Dagrin Was Never A Legend - Prince Abidogun by Afam4eva(m): 8:21pm On Apr 25, 2018
The problem with people is that they use emotions in any issues. Yes, the writer is very right. Dagrin was not a legend in the truest sense. he was an upcoming artiste that was loved because of his style of rap using the Yoruba language which was quite different from what the likes of Lord of Ajasa were doing. It was a more funky version. It's similar to what Phyno is doing with Igbo rap.

I understand, and what you're saying makes sense for LA. What I'm saying is yes, like you said, going to LA for acting is advantageous and people do it, but LA doesn't have a dominate industry. I don't advocate for the cities and states in our region to have dominate industries either, it's not good for long term survival
LA's economy may not be dominate but a particular industry stands out. Huge cities usually don't have dominant economies because they have a bit of everything which is why they're mega cities in the first place. But cities like Owerri, in order to stand out, need to focus on one area while still maintaining other areas.

You right to an extent. Some cities have taken the lead is some things, but the % of California's economy that Hollywood occupies? Less than 10%

See the dark red portion? Hollywood is in there. If all of Hollywood collapses, California's economy will only loose 1-2% of it's size not counting unrelated industries that will be effected like real estate etc.
So that's what I mean.
I'm specifically talking about Los Angeles in relation to hollywood and not California. California is really huge and the economy is diversified. There's sillicon valley that hosts a lot of big internet startups, so i wasn't implying that Hollywood is their major earner.

Israel is country with high Jewish population. I don't see the correlation.
You need to be in Nigeria and witness the way Nigerian Christians support anything Israel so that they can make heaven because, after all the bible told them that Israelites are God's people. They never believe that Israel can be wrong.

Ofodirinwa:
Unless there's a geographical restriction, nobody should deliberately create a 1 industry state. Some sectors will be stronger based on the state, but the difference between our states are negligable and what one has another can have.

The problem with moving around in the region is the problem with Nigeria. I'm in the US. If i want to be i marketing, I can live in Texas. If i want to be in medicine, i can be in texas. If i want a factory job i can be in texas.

In Nigeria, if you want to be in Marketing, you have to move to Lagos. If you want to be in anything outside of factory work, farming and petty trading you have to go to Lagos. If you want a simple government document printed you have to go to Abuja, rent a hotel, and go back the next day. All of these things makes life unbalanced and miserable. If Nigeria is what you know than this reality is acceptable, but once you experience something else, you'll know that it's a dangerous economic concept.

Also, if Imo is a hospitality state, and kidnapping starts up or a high profile kidnapping hits the news, suddenly 70-90% of the economic is shut down because people will stop visiting. Cross Rivers tried to be a hosptality state. The federal government neglected one road and suddenly employment and cross rivers are two different things.

Every state needs 10% of it's economy to be 1 sector, the next 10% another. So that if the industry slows down by 50% only 5% of the jobs in the state will be lost.
In Nigeria, thee's no state or city that does not have a bit of everything. There's nothing in Lagos that is not in Imo or Enugu state. The only difference is that these things are more pronounced in Lagos which makes more sense owing to the population. I still agree that states should be known by one thing even though they will still be kinda diversified. For instance in the US that you used as an example, if someone wants to become an Actor or filmmaker, the person has to go to Los Angeles. That's not because some opportunities aren't in places like New York or Chicago but the opportunities are not as expansive as they are in los Angeles. New York is more known for the white collar, especially Wall Street. If you need IT jobs, you can go to San franciso/Sillicon valley. For touristy things, you can go to Miami or Las Vegas depending on which one tickles your fancy. So, it's important that states in Nigeria are known for something but still have everything.

AyakaDunukofia:
It's unfortunate that ladies whom Chimamanda can't clean their shoes reminded her that relationships matters, and by implication, women in marriage should recognize that they are in such.

"Women should be able to celebrate both their accomplishments and relationships" Hilary Clinton.

"It wont matter if you're got a raise...And you don't value relationships" Barbara Bush.

I think Chimamanda has learnt her lessons. She better watch the caliber of women she throws that Mgbeke Abba feminist questions to next tme.
I felt it was stupid for Chimamanda to reprimand Clinton for using the moniker "wife" on her instagram account but after a brief thought, i realized where she was coming from. It's like women are born and prepared to be someone's wife and mother while men get to be more than that. Why should women profess being a spouse and men seldom do it? Yes, there are men who do it, but they're in the minority.

What of Chidinma?
Musical shows are different because women have as much talent as men. However, in shows like Big Brother, it's simply about likeness and people tend to gravitate more towards men than women.

THEAMAKA:
Big Brother, as far as Nigeria is concerned,is just a show where the men are in actual competition to win the money while the women are just used for entertainment purposes and to ultimately escort one of the male housemates to the grand prize.

Despite Nigerians and their fake holier than thou attitude, a serial fornicator on live TV garnered enough votes and won the grand prize. This goes to show that a female with high entertainment value, even on her BEST behavior, can never ever win the prize. That’s the message that was just sent yesterday. Imagine people campaigning that they will “sacrifice” Nina for Miracle. *rolls eyes*

Our moral compass is selective AF and only applies to women. Look at how Nina was shamed but Miracle is still praised and can garner enough votes to win the money. Are we alright?

Women, we are our own worst enemies. We continue the cycle of sexism and misogyny in our society because the first teacher of children is the mother; culture, values, and the whole lot is instilled in us by our mothers. Nigerian women, stop being foolish.

Nigerians needs a serious wake-up call.
I agree with you. In Nigeria, women hardly win shows like this because all the females are usually hated on, interestingly by the female spectators who female spectators who make up majority of the viewers.

By watching, it means sitting down in front of the TV while Following could mean following updates on Nairaland, Instagra, Twitter or wherever like a lot of people.

Ceec had more fans than him. Ceec's fans increased overtime and got to a point when the only person who could beat her was Miracle. What Tobi had were mostly sympathizers and not fans.

TV/MoviesRe: 8 Life Lessons To Learn From Bbnaija 2018 by Afam4eva(m):
The truth is that, even though it's hard to predict shows such as this, your article captured it to a large extent. When Efe won last year, some people thought they could come this year with the same "poverty" rhetoric and win viewers to their side. Biito was the first person to try it and his fellow housemates shut him up while the viewers sent him packing in subsequent weeks. Why did it work for Efe and not Biito? I think it has more to do with the personality than the sob story. Yes, the sob story helped, but even if Ceec's middle name was poverty, she couldn't have won. Nigerians and humans in general can see through people.

Ceec, despite her evident lack of social decorum, still got this far. This will spur people next year to want to act the same script without realizing that it's not just about the fact that Ceec was quarrelsome but the fact that she was an enigma. People were amiss as to why someone can act like this. She wasn't the regular trouble maker. She was a different brand and it endeared her to a lot of people.

I also agree with the Rico stuff. Even though he had the least confrontations in the house and was rarely nominated, he wasn't the viewer's favourite either because there was nothing tangible to actually tie him to. That's why despite the fact he stayed long enough, he has less instagram followers than some people who left before him. He was too ordinary and not enigmatic. His doom came when the housemates reduced and his true character began to show. People now saw him for who he truly was. He wasn't necessarily a bad person but someone who runs away from conflicts even when it is necessary. I think americans call people like that "b1tch".

Tobi would have been a strong contender for the prize but his game was spoiled the moment he agreed to make Ceec his strategic partner. People began to see him as weak and he made matters worse due to his gossiping prowess. Even though Ceec did more evil than him, he had less fans than her. Such is life.

Miracle on the other hand was a perfect gentleman. He was enigmatic just like Ceec except that it was mostly positive vibes from him. He was never involved in any verbal insults with anybody even though he was one of the most disliked in the house. he only speaks when it's absolutely necessary. The first time he really spoke up was when they were doing the pepsi dance competition and because he felt he was right, he kept harping on the fact that it's a competition and noo ne should be breastfed. He also took competitions very seriously (unlike Alex) and he succeeded in winning the most payporte games. Who else deserves to win if not him?

If anyone intend to apply for Big Brother Naija next year, just be yourself, don't try to be what you're not because Nigerians will see through you. We may be many things, but not easily deceived. If your behavior is likable, people will suport, if it's not, they will send you packing.

She was analysing it with one of the ex-housemates, she couldn't even pretend to be happy for Miracle
Most housemates except for Nina, Tobi, Alex and maybe a few were wishing Miracle didn't win because they know that they didn't befriend him while in the house and it would be hard fr them to famz him shamelessly. That's why when asked who will win, most of them were saying they hoped a Lady won it. Buncha envious lots.
