I thought some guys says only southwest is dirty
Enugu is not dirty but can be cleaner. Atleast every city should aspire to be as clean as Uyo or Calabar.

Sullivan did one at New Haven junction leading to PH Expressway or NNPC mega station. I know of tunnels and bridges, but I can't think of flyovers.

But I think that Chris Chemist (along Holy Ghost Cathedral) needs a flyover because that place is usually a chaos during festive seasons

Also, I sincerely think flyovers are built when there's a real need for it. Just like they are constructing flyovers every second in Lagos to ease off traffic gridlock
Apart fro easing traffic, i think flyovers adds to the beauty of a city. That is why some cities in the south-east look like glorified towns without flyovers.

The road infrastructure in akwa ibom state was well planned and executed that one can't help but marvel and appreciate such which is rare in most states in nigeria.
Dual carriageway from ikot ekpene to uyo(To Ibom plaza/City Center) , Dual carriageway from Abak to uyo(To Ibom Plaza/city center) same with oron road and Aka road.
The state government of obong victor attah built a classy motor park for long distance buses and intra state transport in uyo and all transport coys were mandated to move to the park during akpabio's regime which restored sanity inside the city because the park was built in where can be called as the outskirts(ITAM).
A big gated market was also constructed in itam on the calabar/itu highway, the road to the godswill akpabio stadium is also multi lane which will help in free flow of traffic when events are held in the stadium......Typing
Is the park by any means where you have the AKTC buses? I'v never seen a park that big yet orderly and clean.

TravelMy Review Of Uyo City, Akwa Ibom by Afam4eva(op): 6:54pm On May 24, 2018
Uyo is one city that i never really went to and during Akpabio's government, i knew it was a place that i just had to visit because the noise of uncommon transformation was too much.

I had the opportunity of visiting Uyo yesterday and even though i only stayed for a few hours, i think i'm somewhat qualified to give a review. Note that my previous reviews of Uyo were based solely on images and videos that i saw on the internet.

I had assignments to do in Owerri and Uyo and i wanted to kill two birds with a stone and so, i decide to go to Owerri, lodge and while i'm lodged in the hotel, i will leave Owerri for Uyo which is like approximately 3 hours away, then i'll return back to Owerri the same day. I dd this because i heard the price for a quality hotel in Uyo is exorbitant.

On my way to Uyo, the moment i entered Akwa Ibom stayed just before Ikot Ekpene, i was impressed with how clean and neat everywhere was, even the village houses were well swept and as i got to Ikot Ekpene, i was even more impressed. How can a small town be this organized and clean. I got to Uyo and i was blown away by the Infrastructure (roads, bridges) and the cleanliness and calmness of the city. It was something that i had never really seen in Nigeria. The only cities that can stand side by side with Uyo are Abuja and Calabar based on the variables i mentioned.

On the negative side though, i realized that Uyo does not really have the buildings to match the roads and bridges. Most of the impressive buildings i saw were built by the Akwa Ibom state government. I also noticed that Uyo had little commercial activity going on unlike Owerri where i was initially.

All in all, Uyo is a beautiful city and it's definitely a city for the future if the government can attract industries and more businesses while maintaning the fresh look of the city.

I stayed in the Island of Mauritius for about two years and that was the first time i ever felt relaxed and happy in my life because of the parks, beaches and relaxation spots which were even close to my house. But i noticed that some Nigerians that i came in contact with were telling me of how they missed Nigeria, especially Lagos. Whenever i enquired from them what exactly they missed, they all said the same thing. The clubs, bar, joint, isi-ewu, Nkwobi, loud music and the chaos that lagos exemplifies and i wonder how some Nigeria like hard life like this.

If not for the economic value of Lagos, i wold have moved to a much slower and clam city.

Bishopsgate:
Bros forget o.

I worked with this guy as far back as 16 years ago. He is about the "shrewdest" business man I have met in all my almost 2 decades in banking an FMCG industries.

Yes he and a couple of guys had the unfair advantage of having govt created monopolies (in some cases duopolies) but that era was over more than a decade ago and at that point of change he was almost bankrupt. He clawed his way back up and changed his tactics. He moved from a rent taker to a creator of value (importer to manufacturer). You can compare him with his fellow monopolies and the understanding of his business acumen becomes obvious.

Where are the other beneficiaries of govt monopolies? How many factories have they built, how many people do they employ, how much tax do they contribute to the Nigerian economy?

Overrated - no I don't think so one bit!

H
Tell me who has wielded as much monopoly as Dangote has in the history of Nigeria?

The reason i'm calling his business acumen to question is that in every industry that he has delved into except cement and places where he had monopoly, he hasn't done well and has had to close down. Is it Dangote Spargetti, Indomie and the Telecoms company? Now the tomato company? Someone like Dangote, should, in the least do proper feasibility study before delving into any business. That's the baseline.

Did he not do a feasibility study before venturing into a business with limited raw material?

As much as i respect Aliko Dangote, i think he's overrated as a business man because i can count how many businesses that he has failed at even as Nigeria's business man.

His views, no matter how politically incorrect they are, hold some level of truth. Yes, women are capable of attaining the highest levels pf their career without any help, but a lot of them have risen to top positions because of their connections or favours that they have returned in kind, likewise some men.
PoliticsRe: Okorocha: "APC Playing PDP Politics, APC Has Derailed" by Afam4eva(m): 8:18am On May 11, 2018
“Suffice to say that as I speak to you today, I am the only governor from the entire South-east who is APC just like my brother, Obaseki is the only governor from the South-South from the APC. What this goes to say is that APC has challenges in the South-South and South-East for reasons not too far-fetched. For some myopic considerations and assessment, this party is not strong in those parts of Nigeria.

For those our governors in the north, they won the election so easy, for as long as the name Buhari stands in the north. But its not the same thing talking about President Muhammadu Buhari’s name in the South-South or South-West.

So if you see any governor emerge in the South-South or South-East, it is not with an ordinary strength, and I believe that Oshiomole coming in will strengthen this party in that part.
This quotes by Rochas is as succinct as they come. I think Rochas knows what is happening but some times, just plays to the gallery in order not to annoy the powers that be in APC.

babaolofin:
In Nigeria today and even beyond, Channels TV have more followers than AIT. Channels TV commands audience that cuts across all strata of the society. That cannot be said of AIT whose main followers & audience are mainly regional ( not Edo ) &,few people looking for solace in uncertain hope &,false aspirations.

I remember the pillar of AIT was laid on Raypower FM when Kenny Ogungbe & his friends left Ogun State broadcasting Corporation FM to pioneer the establishment of Raypower &,later AIT, he later became the GM of AIT group. During Abacha regime he was threatened together with the station by Abacha Security operatives. The death of Abacha saved the station. During this period, a popular network news anchor personality on NTA was also relieved of his job for his negative countenance while reporting propaganda when Chukwumerije was the Minister of information.

I stopped watching focus Nigeria since 2014 . After the death of Ladi Lawal some years back, I lost interest in AIT for personal reasons. I am even surprised that Kenny Ogungbe can return back to that group
Is it Kenny Ogungbe of Primetime Africa or another one.

Afam, wisdom left you a long time ago. You and those who play the tribal card when things don't go your way are the major problems of this country. You were lost sometimes ago when Lil Kesh cum Olamide had issues with Headies just because Reekado Banks won the next rated. Of course, your rebuttal would be that they are both Yorubas.

Even in your Enugu here, Olamide's, Davido's Mayorkun's, Tiwa Savage, Korede Bello, Reekado Banks' songs are in play non-stop. With all due respect to the hardworking Igbo artistes who try so hard to put up their, I don't see any of them in the ranks of Davido and Wizkid, just like Tiwa is reigning as the queen in the industry. Where is Stormrex?

As difficult as 'Science student' is for non Yoruba speakers, you need to see your kinsmen trying very hard to master the lyrics night and day.
Have you ever been to Enugu in your life? No artiste is more popular thn the likes of Phyno, Flavour and Zoro in Enugu. So, i don't know where you got your information from.

Secondly, instead of caling the Headies a Yoruba award, i will call it a Lagos award because some of these songs that you think are popular while sitting in your parlor in Lagos are not popular in some other parts of Nigeria. The only artistes in Nigeria that command a national popularity are Davido, Wizkid, Tekno, Runtown and a few others. All these street lagos musician cannot pull crowds in places in the east and far north.

I checked the 2013 winning team and Oshaniwa was the only Yoruba player which was used for just few mins in the final. Yet, we Nigerians celebrated the victory and i didnt hear or read any issue about just a single Yoruba player being in the team. I checked the Nigerian Table Tennis and boxing team, dominated by Yorubas, i dont read or hear any tribal jingles. I still dont believe igbos are what people think they are...just because few Igbos are being bigots doesnt make all Igbos bigots...we have bigots everywhere on the Nigerian social-media sphere....Yorubas, Hausas, Igbos, Ijaws, Binis etc
I think some Igbos only bring in the tribal thing in areas where they think they are doing well and supposed to be recognized. No doubt, Yorubas are dominating the music industry but there's also a handful of Igbos at the top too. It's not like Igbos are not into music at all. It's just like how Igbos are kinda dominating the gospel genre of music even though there are also a handful of other tribes doing gospel.

Another reason why i think some Igbos complain is because the organizers of most of these things are usually not Igbos so they sense some bias.

The guy is 100% correct only a fool will dispute his analysis.
I think Igbo artists and musicians should be boycotting the useless headies awards.
Imagine song of the year was IF by Davido and not the highly successful hit MAD OVER YOU by Runtown, as if that was not enough then producer of song of the year wasn't awarded the producer of the year what an irony.
I would favour IF by Davido for song of the year and not "Mad Over You" because IF was more popular in the year under review. "mad over You" is a bit older and was released in the previous year.

Biodun1929:
Apart from P Square, Tekno, and Phyno, can he list 5 A list igbo musicians? The thing is, Yoruba people are more into music than people of any other tribe, so it is only natural that they would dominate the awards. When P Square were in their prime, they were winning multiple awards at the Headies, but their split gave room to guys like Davido and Wizkid to totally dominate. Let's not always make everything about tribe.
Flavour, Runtown, Patoranking etc? Are you this blind?

Lol.

Phyno won the headies in the past but discountenanced it. Tecno dissed his nomination last year. Both Igbos.

Now, you're crying like barren witches that Igbos didn't win headies.

Use your flat head to think na.
Tekno dissed it because he was nominated as a NEXT RATED artiste even though he was the third most popular artiste after Davido and Wizkid and he had tons of hits.

How did Phyno discountenance the Headies?

So those who won the awards don't deserve it right? They should make is a quota system to satisfy you bigoted flat heads. But when igbo s dominated bbn final, the organizers of bbn are not igbos.
Or we should not consider making our national team (a national team)

I don't even know who do you people like this.

Music/RadioRe: MC Akonuche: "Headies Is A Yoruba Award No Award To One Igbo Person” by Afam4eva(m): 10:22am On May 08, 2018
I really don't understand why people complain about things like this. It's just common sense. The Headies is a Yoruba owned award and they will definitely be bias in giving awards even if they don't intend to. It's just like the grammies. It's an American awardbut from time to time, musicians outside the US get to win it but t's still largely an American award won mostly by Americans.
