Trayceey: I Need Your Opinion On This Issue That's Threatening My Relationship
My fiance wanted to come to the house to see my mum but I told him I won't be around because I'm about heading out to somewhere, so he asked me if my mum would be around, then I said yes and he said he would still go to see her and it doesn't matter if I'm not around.
When I later got home that night, my mum complained that he came empty handed. He didn't bring anything for her and she was the one who offered him her drink.
Although initially, I didn't see anything wrong with that but when my mum expressed her displeasure, I later called him to ask why he came to the house empty handed then I let him know I wasn't happy with him, that it would have been better if he didn't come. He tried arguing with me but I hung up.
Since then, we haven't spoken to each other nor visited each other. Was I wrong? You and your mother are leeches that need to be avoided like a plague. Just imagine the seedy and queer feeling of over sense of entitlement! You mean he should have brought the market to your house just because he came to see your mother? And you have the effrontery to tell him that he'd have stayed back instead of coming empty handed. This clearly shows that you and your mother are after his pocket, and not his genuine intention towards you. |

So, after the cutlass cut visibly seen on her shoulder, you are calling her names? You must be a domestic violent practitioner. T817: I returned home from my shop only to find my wife 4 siblings in my house I wasn’t happy because she didn’t informed me they were coming over and in this economy when the country is hard why would they come all four of them at the same time.
My mother in law came for omugwo she stayed for 5 weeks, she left 3 weeks ago I had given my wife 30k the money I borrowed from a good friend of mine to get her some few things to take home, then 3 weeks after, her 4 siblings are here too, they are 6. The last born who is 10 have been staying with us for 2 years now. I take care of her, my wife doesn’t work and I am only managing I don’t know why her people want to drain me.
Can you imagine as soon as I entered the house, her sisters were asking me about their Christmas gifts, "brother where is our gift?" As if I am their ATM. I just ignored them because I was already angry seeing them in my house without my permission but keeping calm was the best thing to do.
What shocked me was the fact her brother was comfortably sleeping in my bed next to my 2 months old baby. My wife didn’t see it as anything bad she said he is her brother and wouldn’t harm his own niece but my point was not about him doing something wrong with her but the fact that he doesn’t have any respect for my bed that what really got me angry which led to my wife and I to quarrell not in their presence but in our room but since it’s only parlour and room self con I believe they must have heard everything but I don’t care.
My Wife thinks I am overreacting and I don’t like her siblings and she said she will tell her parents everything I said to her in anger which I didn’t meant to but nobody in my position will be happy if he happened to be in my shoe. How do I handle this problem with my wife without causing any further problems between us and her parents because I don’t have money to feed 4 more mouths for 2 weeks because they are not leaving any time soon not until the 3rd or 4th of January and before her siblings came she complained about her Christmas clothes and hair. I told her I will only do Christmas for the kids because I don’t have money she frowned her face and started giving me attitudes and on top of that she has invited her 4 siblings when I don’t have a kobo to feed all of them.
Even the food we have in the house won’t even last until January because I bought enough for 5 people but now with 9 of us it won’t last and her siblings are expecting me to do Christmas for them too , I don’t blame them because they are small children 20,18,15,12 who thinks that I have a skeleton in my cupboard where I get free money lol.
What should I do right now ? I am not happy Your advice is needed please Oga, grow some balls and ask them to leave if your wife won't do it. You owe nobody any explanation since nobody explained anything to you prior to the invasion in your house. I had similar issue before the lockdown. I respectfully asked my sister in law to leave, my MIL doing omugwo said she'd also leave if I don't allow her daughter stay. I told her to do whatever she wanted, that no one will tell me what to do in my house. If you fail to handle it now, your home would be taken over by your in-laws and nothing will happen. Tell those leeches to leave your house at once |

NinjaMetahuman: you don't get.
As it stands going by your screenshots and their response in the case, you only have 50% chance of winning cos jumia lawyers could claim anything in court. You might even lose and jumia claim damages for trying to destroy their business.
Because 1, according to your post and jumia response, you didn't read all follow jumia requirements for the promo to the fullest. That's why it's important to read promo Terms and conditions before doing it.
2, It's not an outright case of fraud case where you paid 120k for your item and jumia took your money and run.. according to jumia policy which you agreed to before buying your item. You can get your money back in full if you are not satisfied with the service rendered within 15days. Or you could cancel the order of it hasn't shipped. Which means, they didn't defraud you, or took your money without avenue to pay back.
Even if against all odds you managed to win in court, the highest judgement you will get is that jumia should refund your 10k money. If you are lucky and your lawyer is out of this world good against the army of lawyers from jumia, the judge might ask jumia be the one to pay your legal fees and give you some change for your trouble.
You can only get more money from jumia, if you can manage to get more people experiencing the same problem to sue jumia in a class act case and get big settlement. Not an isolated case like yours. You are the one not following. The item i ordered for was not on promo, neither was i shown any promo relating to a particular bank's card. Rather, i was encouraged to pay with "a mastercard" (no mention of any bank) and get a discount of 10k for using my mastercard. Jumia showed me minus 10k from the original price immediately i entered my card details and also asked me to pay ₦117,359 as against ₦127,359. But immediately i clicked on pay, they reverted to the initial ₦127,359. Again, Jumia never showed me any ongoing promo details when i clicked on the item i ordered for as clearly shown in my attachment |

LORDEST: You all still don't get it.
On your order page they tell you already have 10,000 discount before inserting your card details. After you've inserted your card details it's all get removed from your cart and product returns to initial cost sending you to insert token.
It's honestly so deceitful , Why should you tell me I have 10,000 when you haven't confirmed the card I'm going to use ?
So you all stop all the Stanbic Bank MasterCard hippie dippie bullshit and let call them for a fraudulent unmannered approach of doing business Thank you! You got the point exactly. |
Phones › Re: Deceitful Offer From Jumia, Please Help!! by AFONAMARO(op): 10:05am On Nov 26, 2020 |
jasonnn9: Op i empathize with how you feel, if I was in your shoes I might even be more pissed off because I believe this issue arises from lack of clarity on the part of Jumia..even to the point of checking out your orders.
Someone has however previously given the terms and conditions attached to this promo. So I would like to know., 1. Is your MasterCard that of Standard IBTC Bank? 2. Is this your 1st transaction with the card on Jumia?
If yes to 1 alone, know that you are adequately qualified for this promo and you can even carry them to the Supreme Court and win on this matter flawlessly. If yes to 2 alone, you qualified for the 5k discount regardless of which bank you use. If yes to both, I don't know what that qualifies you for.
If no to 1, which is what I suspect is your case, then it's an error on the part of Jumia for misleading you in the checkout page that you were qualified. But they will insist it was indicated on the terms and conditions so at the end of the day you will be the losing party.
So the only option really, if you really need that 10k is to cancel the order and find a cheaper offer as some nairalanders above have suggested.
A word? Be careful of all these promos you see, please always endeavour to go through terms and conditions,so that issues will not arise. I learnt the hard way one particular time. Story for another day.
Remain blessed. I use a First Bank debit card and the transaction is my first with the card. About the promo you raised, i was not attracted by it. I had selected my item and was gonna pay with another means when they offered me 10k discount if i pay with either Master or Visa card. I selected Mastercard and they clearly showed me minus 10k and said, pay ₦117,359 as against ₦127,359. And immediately i clicked on pay, they took ₦127,359. That's fraud. Note: There was no mention of any bank's Mastercard during my purchase on that page. I've all the screen shots of the transaction. |

It is not clearly stated that you will have a 10k discount. This is likely to be the clause they will rely on. It is commonly used across the world, so it's not a case of "Naijja has spoilt ". Atmost they will do his refund his 10k, and you pay more than triple of that to a lawyer.
AFONAMARO the best you can do is to keep posting on every social media page and hope may be it will get enough attention to have your money refunded. Or just cancel the order all together.
