coogar: he should be sent on loan. he's not better than mata or shinji as of yet. no need to keep him around & stunt his growth. leicester needs his service. cheesy
You know van gaal wont do that.
I remember last season when people were saying he shuld b loaned out i said he was ready.
Watch out for adnan welbeck and pawa this season and evans if he stays fit
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc(m): 4:10pm On Jul 23, 2014
Mark my words dadehmola your boy welbeck will have a great season cheesy
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc(m): 4:07pm On Jul 23, 2014
For adnan to grow one of shinji or mata should go
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc(m): 4:06pm On Jul 23, 2014
StarBoard: Shinji is not that bad.
He has been played wide left and he cannot be useful to us from there.
We are not even sure Reus is a better player than Shinji was at Dortmund.
Hmmmm i am sure especially when it comes to the epl.
Reus has the pace and athleticism that shinji never had. But they are 2 different players.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc(m): 4:04pm On Jul 23, 2014
[quote author=Dadehmola]True.

The only problem is the implementation of the system in the league.

Mancini tried it and failed, despite having excellent players for each position.

Recently, Juve seem to be the only top club in Europe to have succeeded with the formation, but it was only in the serie A- their form in the champions league has been horrible! [/quote

very true. Players find it hard to execute it properly especially those that never played it.

However mancini is no van gaal.
Remember this is just what i suspect him to use o.....i am a fan of 4231
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc(m): 4:01pm On Jul 23, 2014
StarBoard: Reus at this point would mean someone has to go.
You have to give him starting time and for peeps like Shinji who's been on the left for a good portion of his United career, that cannot be good news.
I think if van gaal gets Strootman, we don't really need too much additions in the middle.
If shinji has to go so be it....its all about united. If we can get reus i will drive shinji to d airport myself

coogar: the future of our midfield.
watch this space - i learnt ando didn't make the tour cos of a slight injury. he should be back in tip top form by the time the league kicks off.
Heard he got injured while swallowing a complete goat head aka isi ewu ALL BY HIMSELF
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc(m): 3:59pm On Jul 23, 2014
Dadehmola: ...To ease or worsen the selection/ tactical headache that seems to be developing already?
Headache ke? I am sure van gaal wont complain.
Do u gear barca and madrid coaches that they have too many QUALITY options?

Reus RVp Rooney to fight for the 2 strikers pisitions. Reus can do it, he is that good.
Depending on a fat rooney and an old n tired rvp all season long is risky
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc(m): 3:53pm On Jul 23, 2014
Dadehmola: If LVG's going with 3 at the back, why does di Maria's name keep coming up like a re-occurring decimal? I don't see where he would fit in with that set-up.
True.
But it appears di maria is headed to france
I am hearing more of vidal hummels and vermaelen
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc(m): 3:51pm On Jul 23, 2014
I love 4231 but 3412 solves a few problems
1) it is the best way to get the best out of both rooney and vp at the same time.

2)it makes the best use offensive of our wingbacks without weakening the defense too much

3) it gives us numbers in central midfield as our CM players dont have to worry too much about being drawn wide.

One draw back is that it relies so much on the full backs for width and if the 1 behind d 2 strikers is off form then the 2 at the top could become isolated
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc(m): 3:46pm On Jul 23, 2014
StarBoard: What happens if one of those get crocked?
I'd say i'm still sceptical of Failaini.
And what happens to my boy Shinji?
Shinji competes with mata and adnan or one of them gets sold.....hopefully your boy shinji lol to dortmund so we get hummels or reus.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc(m): 3:35pm On Jul 23, 2014
coogar: smalling, pawa, evans
rafael-herrera-fellaini-shaw
----------juan mata--------
-----rooney--van persie----

it's a very safe formation. we will win 30 league games out of 38.
Yeah something like that....but switch fellaini for someone better, hopefully vidal and pawa and smalling should exhange positions
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc(m): 3:33pm On Jul 23, 2014
StarBoard: Which one be dat? grin
not sure he can pull that off with the players we got o.
Yeah i know. Personally i would prefer 4-2-3-1.....hope he goes that way. I just have d feeling however that he would experiment a lil.
The players that are out of place in the 3-4-1-2 are nani and young. Other players can find roles.

The success of any formation depends on who else we are able to get
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc(m): 3:30pm On Jul 23, 2014
Dadehmola: .....just like he did with the Netherlands, right?

The million dollar question is- which players would be deployed as Wing-backs? Rafael and shaw readily come to mind but what will happen to the likes of januzaj and nani?
Rafael and shaw as wingbacks.
Players could be offloaded....and new ones come in. Adnan can play as the 1 behind d 2 strikers, so can mata and kagawa. No obvious place for nani or young though valencia can deputize for rafael
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc(m): 3:16pm On Jul 23, 2014
3-4-1-2 i suspect might be the starting formation.
it might be changed though if results are not good.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc(m): 2:53pm On Jul 23, 2014
If u r not legally required to show your birth certificate or go through age tests u can always lie about your age anywhere in d world.

Its when it has legal ramifications like for sports stars that u get caught.
Actresses in hollywood have lied about their ages for years.
But the scrutiny is higher in sports. Shabazz mohammed an nba player lied about his age in high school and college but was caught before he joined d nba
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc(m): 2:37pm On Jul 23, 2014
Elampiro nikki minaj was born in trinidad not the united states. This would have made it possible for her to lie about her age in legal documents.

Honorable mention to Hummels,Lahm,Neymar,Kroos

elampiro: I am beginning to think that many of you guys didn't watch these matches. Messi useless against Belgium? Useless today? You guys don't know how to judge a good player.
And you think your well known parameters of PACE,PAWA AND EEGUN ORI are better?
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc(m): 1:11am On Jul 14, 2014
elampiro: If it's about goals and the team you scored against, then Folan wouldn't be the best in 2010. Except you didn't watch the matches, Messi was one of the top two. Did he not even singlehandly kill Belgium? No one talks about that world class assist after he skipped past two players or so.
Forlan scored long range shots to equalize in the QUARTER FINAL and SEMI FINAL in 2010 world cup.
How many goals did Messi score in the knock out stages of this world cup? Erm....how many goals has Messi scored in his life in the kbnock out stages of the world cup?
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc(m): 1:01am On Jul 14, 2014
elampiro: It's just quantity. Even this stat beats Robben's goals. It terms of quality of play, Messi comes behind Robben.
quality and beauty of play its just 2 guys....Robben and James Rodriguez.
I give it Robben cos the Dutch styles was quite defensive and so much pressure was placed on Robben to succeed and HE DELIVERED.
Rodriguez' team played attacking flowing and open football giving him a better opportunity to shine and HE DID.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc(m): 12:58am On Jul 14, 2014
elampiro: Messi's worst goal is better Muller's best goal. Pls let's not apply sentiments, Messi's was second on individual effort, behind Robben.
As usual you are the one being sentimental.
Robben,Rodriguez and Muller at least played better than Messi in this tournament.

Messi is the best in the world we know that.....but in this world cup he was a flat track bully (apologies to Berbatov cheesy)
He scored against football nobodies but at crunch time when his country needed him against the big boys he failed again....and again....and again
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc(m): 12:50am On Jul 14, 2014
Nairalandinfo: In today's match i.e. if u watched it, u would see that Muller, Ozil, Klose, Kroos, etc were non-existent BUT the other guys stepped up like Schurrler & the likes esp oin the attacking dept.....now look @ Messi who in his little way tried but his 3 front men (Aguero, Higuan, Palacio) were marked absent in attendance.
As 4 Maradona, i insist his compatriots stepped up when he couldn't do much @ the final against West-Germany...that is what 'm talking about
yes they stepped up in 86.
but the argument was squad quality. this set of players have more quality players and more world class players than the 86 group.
i watched 86 world cup then and have watched it since. just check out the players for the Argies in 86....

just check out how many times they played for Argentina before or since, what they did in their careers before and after WITHOUT Maradona.

check out their club careers, what did they do?

then watch the matches and see maradona's impact in terms of game play and goals and assists.

This squad had mascherano,di maria, zabaleta, aguero and it could be argued that Messi did not give the best performance from an Argentine in this world cup. Mascherano for my money was better than Messi in this tournament. Just my opinion.......how many goals did Messi score in the knock out stages again?
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc(m): 12:26am On Jul 14, 2014
elampiro: In reference to best player award.

It terms of individual work rate before netting goals, I give it to Robben and Messi. Even Messi's assist was world class.

1. Messi'sa goals vs Bosnia, a typical Lionel Messi's goals as he would for Barca. Run across payers outsiide the box and fire in from 25 yards or so. Same against Iran. Scored a free kick against Enyeama. Against Switzerland, he dribble past one or two players to provide Di Maria an assist. Had a very great game against Belgium. Did well tonight.

Robben was however, the king of individual brilliance.
Robben

Rodriguez

Muller

RuuDie: Hold on... Maradona and 11 zombies!?

Burruchaga, Pasarella, Pumpido, Tapia, Valdano, Ruggeri, Batista...

Shuo. Una take am easy nah!
Burruchaga was a decent footballer but that was all.

Passarella did not play, he was sick.

Tapia played a few insignificant minutes and played about 10 matches in his career for Argentina ....who is he?

Batista was good in that tournament.

THAT TEAM HAD A LOT OF JOURNEYMEN FOOTBALLERS.

Nairalandinfo: Na wa 4 this yarn sef....no player in the history of the world cup has ever Singlehandedly won the WC....Pele & Maradona. Both had superb supporting cast to do them the job...
Thiis final was a dissappointment for Ozil, Kroos & Muller but the other guys had to step up & that is what the Argies lost 2day....i hate indiscipline but i know Tevez would have done better than Palacio, Aguero or Higuan
N.b. Go find the videos of 86 b4 u come here dey like about Maradona having zombies to assist him.
Maradona did not have an excellent supporting cast. The team had some decent players but that was all

Burruchaga and Valdano combined to score 20 goals for Argentina in their whole careers! They were good team players but not exactly world class.
Only Ruggieri in that squad could be argued to be world class apart from the unused Passarella
