i would take strootman and ander herrera in january |
RuuDie: Omo... Ross Bark was there and we went to buy Fellaini for 27m.thank moyes for that one. barkley would have been sold for half of that maybe less, that aint gonna happen anytime soon now |
Ozil would have been a great buy but we did not desperately NEED him especially with Rooney and Kagawa already sharing that role behind the striker. We needed 2 quality central midfielders with good ball distribution and work rate and enough mobility to get around. I was hoping for 2 out of Fabregas,Modric,Strootman etc but we got Fellaini ![]() |
oh boy it took me almost an hour to read all these pages. Moyes don turn boys to Mike Maiyakis ![]() |
Mr_TA: This says more about Moyes than Zaha.Yeah |
I don't think anybody is claiming that Jones is a world class midfielder or the long term answer to our midfield problems, however it looks like he is the best bet for now. Rather than being a campaign or praise for Jones it is an indictment of the career midfielders in the team. Anybody who is expecting Fellaini to suddenly blossom at his age into a quality midfielder and deliver what he does not have is waiting on an extremely long thing. I would rather play ANY fit midfielder we have (even the cake mad fat Brazilian) instead of Fellaini. And it is quite strange to buy a winger for 15m pounds and not even give him any minutes in the league especially since the wing play by the others has been so abysmal. That midfield is an eye sore! In midfield you either keep the ball well and for long periods or you win back early. This is the only midfield i know for a big team that is very poor at both. |
look at cleverley? he made sandro look like cruyff |
dademola: Welbeck on d left?? I'd rada hav young protect evra. I hope welbeck proves me wrong sha!lol bro i know you don't rily like welbeck but i believe he can do a decent job for the team if his primary job is not scoring goals. |
Mr_TA: I guess its what we have. Im just happy i don't get to watch Fellaini.Same here. The guy turns as if he is wearing mercury or lead boots! I would even prefer the fat albert brazilian to come on in the 2nd half instead of our afroman |
coogar: moyes is going with solidity.....Not a bad line-up and we have decent options on the bench. Welbeck would offer Evra more protection than Nani and other especially since Evra is facing Lennon who has usually given him problems. The thing is for Moyes to be proactive in making his subs and make smart ones too. |
Does not detract from the fact that there are only 2 decent sides in the Bundesliga albeit the 2 clubs are 2 of the very best in Europe ( and yes i do watch the league). I won't call the league boring and there are lots of technically good players there but physically and tactically they are not as good as they should be |
If you want to look at it historically more teams from England have won the European Cup/UCL than German teams. I think the score is 12 to 7 titles and 5 to 3 different clubs both in favour of EPL. If you want to check more recently e.g last 10yrs 3 different EPL teams Man Utd, Chelsea and Liverpool have all had MULTIPLE appearances in the final with each winning it once. Last 10 years the score is 3 titles to 1 in favour of the EPL with and its 3 DIFFERENT CLUBS ( showing you the depth) Even Arsenal our little brother has been to the final.Right now Bayern Munich is obviously the best team in Europe but the German league lacks depth in quality |
Very disappointing performance from Leverkusen, i expected more from them. Over 2 legs they did not show ANY quality at all, there was no threat from them, no urgency and over 180 minutes they played at the level of a championship side. Bayern and Dortmund are 2 very good sides but presently there is lack of depth when it comes to quality teams in the German league. |
nice one DJ . please play damino damoshe "fall in the circle" |
okay naaaaa, okay naaaaa make una form into circle, permission to fall in ko ma lo sempe! wey band boys? ![]() |
The flaws in the team are numerous but it all starts from midfield, that is where the primary lesion is |
chamotex: I saw Valencia play against Argentina during the international break and he was on beast mode. That is because the full back didn't recognize him. Valencia is a limited and one-way winger who will always be found out in the EPL cos opponents have had enough time to study him and know he is completely one-sided. It is not surprising he shines for Ecuador against full backs and scouts that see him once in a blue moon and struggles in the league where his opponents watch him weekly. P.S the Argentine full back Orban was having his debut for Argentina i believe so its not too surprising that he had a torrid time, not sure how many times he has actually seen Valencia play. |
Today is a landmark day in the history of football and Nairaland. For the first time since the fall of the Roman Republic Coogar gave Rooney some "praise" and Elampiro "blamed" Rooney a little. |
Roooney had a good game until that useless pass in injury time. 87 % pass accuracy, 8 key passes, a goal and an assist. He shirked his responsibilities by electing to pass that ball, he should have taken the shot. However had he taken the shot and missed he would have been vilified for not passing to Welbeck. However he did it that should have ended up with United scoring, either a well taken shot or a better weighted pass. |
Rooney can be an i.d.i.o.t sometimes.........ooops i have said that already |
Januzaj making poor decisions so far, the team playing it like a friendly. I dont want music on this thread today o |
coded guy: Rooney scores! He shud have been sent off! LOL Rooney can be an i.d.i.o.t sometimes |
elampiro: Now they are resting Kagawa to keep him fresh. Later some rastafarian will blame Rooney. To me, Rooney should be the one that needs rest.? |
GustavoFring: You mean Clement?oh boy ehhh! "Clement! Clement!". Tapout is crazy mehn ![]() |
GustavoFring: A Rooney Own Goal will do me just fine.Haven't seen the Coog here recently. I hope he and Tapsy haven't carried their fight to finish offline? ![]() This thread needs a small dose of Elampiro and Coogar now and again |
elampiro: It looks to me too that Messi will naturally attract more voters than Ronaldo due to people perception that Messi is humble while Ronaldo is arrogant.Very good point. If Casillas meets St Peter at the pearly gates i doubt if he would swear that he really thought Ramos deserved it ahead of Ronaldo. Gives a hint of the dysfunctional state of the Madrid squad last year. There are certainly some voters who would vote anyone but Ronaldo on general principle i.e they don't like him. |
People are mentioning assists as if Ronaldo did not have a good number of assists too. Ribery had more assists than Ronaldo no doubt but it was much closer than the wide gulf between them in terms of goals scored. Messi is the best but for this year i believe Ronaldo deserves it. It is not a team award Ronaldo has been better than Messi if you look at the calendar year and definitely better than Ribery. Dont get me wrong, Ribery is a good player in his own right but Bayern's success can't be ascribed to Ribery but to great system in place and the glut of quality players playing within this system. |
elampiro: It means in your ranking, Messi is 3rd.In my opinion Messi is the best player in the world. However for THIS YEAR the best player, the best individual by far was Ronaldo. Messi was hampered by injuries for close to half of the year and his season since April has been stop-start. Ronaldo has remained fit and banged lots of goals and maintained a high level. 2nd and 3rd could go to Ribery and Messi in any order with Ibra as a sleeper, not really significant. What is clear is no player was better this year than Ronaldo. |
It is first and foremost an individual award. Who won what should come into play if it is close between 2 players and voters are not sure who to pick e.g a couple of the messi vs ronaldo battles. However in this case when you compare the contenders the difference between ronaldo and ribery this year was so great individually that the case should already be settled on that basis. |
dademola: i have a feeling cooger must hav offended tapout in d real world! D guy sounds really angry and pained! As for d "rodent rearing" allegation, if one is to consider d way tapout spoke about it with so much conviction, Well...That was the baffling bit about it, the way he stated those things with such confidence. It was like he knew something we didn't know ![]() It would have been nice if Senior Ogbeche had given Coogar the chance to rebut such sordid and unwholesome accusations ![]() However getting personal on NL to point of naming and shaming people is to be discouraged. |
dademola: Lol at "clement Njoku"! Some pple are just crazy!! dademola:LOL But i am still wondering who Clement Njoku is and whether it is true that he herds wild animals in Wales? ![]() These were questions that remained unanswered before Senior Ogbeche laid down the law ![]() Bros you were too harsh on the 2 combatants, all is fair in love and war |
