its just that scholes and carrick with 2 wingers AND 2 strikers will leave us too exposed and endanger our porous defence.now u hav to realise that this is Chelsea away and not Stoke City at home,capable of slotting in 2-3 early goals if we start poorly as we hav bin doing.
Cleverly can provide a decent immitation of Scholes offensive abilities and he will give much more defensively than Scholes,so Carrick and Cleverly for me in central midfield with Rooney in d hole supporting RVP and pulling d strings and locating the wide men

scholes will be too much of a liability in a 2 man central midfield against this chelsea team.carrick will be overworked and our midfield will be overrun.like i said earlier hazard,mata n oscar inhabit d same are which happens to be carrick's zone,he needs help from a more dynamic player like tom C or Ando not a geriatric like scholes.for me

nice one guys.i must say that this match is winnable (if we play wit d ryt players n formation) cos chelsea's defence is not that gud either.
the trick is to be competitive in midfield and peg their fullbacks back.an analysis of chelsea's matches shows that their width in attack comes from their full backs whose average position is on the touchline deep in oppostion territory.playing a diamond formation will enable us have more possesion but it also takes something away from our attack and will give ivanovic nd cole freedom to overlap,this we must nt allow.
i believe 2 central midfielders in carrick and cleverley with valencia on the right and buttner or giggs on the left with rooney behind RVP should b best.
for d left wing i would have preferred young or nani but i think its better nani comes on from d bench and i am nt sure of young's fitness.giggs has his critics and rightly so but he seems to have good matches against chelsea and out on d left wing his erratic passing wont be too

a nice attacking formation but not likely to be used considering the fact that carrick is a constant in this kind of matches.when u consider the fact that the space between CB and central midfield is d space usually exploited by Mata,Oscar and even Hazard it could be suicidal to start with 2 dynamic central midfielders who are not used to 'sitting'.

kagawa out for a month it seems.real bad luck,but maybe this will make fergie forget this diamond experiment(at least for now)

partly fergie's fault but the player's were really really poor today! regardless of the line up players like Nani,Valencia,RVP who many United fans would have had in their starting lineups were so poor today.

Nani has had more assists than ANY OTHER WINGER OR WING FORWARD in the premiership over the last 3 seasons averaging about 13 assists per season.that is far more than walcott,downing,lennon and even valencia.Nani might be more erratic than Valencia in terms of his form but he is consistently in the top 10 in terms of assists in the EPL at the end of the season.even in his last season which was so horrible he was no 7 or so ahead of Lennon,Walcott,Nasri,Gervinho and with the same number of assists as Gareth Bale.
Nani is younger than both Young and Valencia and his skill set is such that he has a higher potential and ceiling than both of these players can ever have.we all remember how frustrating Ronaldo was when he first joined United,i remember some of my Arsenal friends saying Reyes was going to turn out to be a better player than Ronaldo.not saying Nani is of Ronaldo quality but why sell him when there r no obvious replacements of higher quality in d market

in the same 4 years in the premier league Man Utd who won the league twice and came 2nd twice(1st time losing by a point ,2nd time on goal difference) have lost an average of 5 league games per season.

LOL guys were touting his unbeaten season in Portugal like that was the ultimate in sports.the dude was managing Porto and had Falcao and Hulk at their very best in his team! there is always a thin line dividing Porto (and Benfica for that matter) from an unbeaten season in that league.

Porto lost just ONE league game in 2011/2012 season and AVB wasnt the manager and Falcao also had left
Benfica lost just TWO in 2009/2010
Porto lost TWO in 08/09.

IMO dembele is not a defensive midfielder and does not excel sitting in front of the back four tackling or making interceptions,he is better when he is left to roam the midfield making runs and forward passes.he can't be the person to relieve or replace carrick. if he comes it would be to partner carrick.
dembele coming in would be at the expense of a more advanced midfielder possibly anderson and would also mean less playing time for d old men scholesy n giggs.

last season when zeki fryers came on as a sub evra moved to the CB position to end the match(not saying he did a gr8 job o).ferguson had better not play this petri dish formation n lineup.i would prefer scott wootton and vida at CB and carrick in CM to partner cleverly

no evidence or rumor that rafael is burnt out.if sandro of spurs(and d same brasil) could start and is not burnt out then i don't see why rafael should be burnt out.
having said that fergie has played valencia at right back during pre-season quite a number of times so its obvious he sees valencia as an option at right back.
