accepted that young is the fittest of the 3 FOR NOW however if all 3 are fit later in d season I would give d edge to nani. Young just doesn't take on the full back enough. whenever he is on d left flank he just cuts d ball back onto his right foot and plays an inswinger that is nodded away by d defence 90 % of the time. maybe that's y moyes tried him on d right flank in preseason. As for Valencia years ago I was arguing with some peeps on this forum that his utter inability to use his left leg to do more than just stand will limit his play at United. a player can hide his limitations in a backwater like Wigan but in the limelight of places like Manchester United opponents will study u and exploit ur weaknesses |
elampiro: Always look at current form and not past glory.who said I was talking about past glory? is it young or Valencia that have current form? I said a FIT nani. i didn't say nani of 5yrs ago or 3 yrs ago or nani's grandfather. if nani is physically fit today I will take him ahead of young or valencia |
elampiro: I am yet to be convinced about this Kagawa. Xailor is so sure this guy will be great, but to me he doesn't even show sign. JS Park was a better player. United needed to keep the brand promotion in Asia. Look at what Hazard is doing in Chelsea.u have a point. kagawa struggled to cope with d physicality of d English game and that has affected his confidence IMO. He needs to bulk up and ask chicharito how he adapted to d EPL esp in terms of shielding the ball and holding off opponents |
elampiro: Can you really vouch for Nani now? Young might be the preferred..I can vouch for a FIT nani offering more in terms of attacking threat than either young or valencia |
elampiro: I have watched all the preseason matches, sometimes I repeated the matches two more times. For the benefit of this thread let people be objective. Anderson and Cleverly combination is not working without Carrick playing. That is very obvious.there is no reason to rehash the ando-cleverly argument. while most of his believe that the combo is not good enough to be our mainstay there are a few who believe that they are better than gerson-clodoaldo ![]() |
I am now hearing rumours of Modric and Fellaini. These ogas at d United top are trying to turn us to Arsenal fans a.k.a watch out for part 2! abeg pls sign someone quick quick without fuss or rumour and without giving hourly updates (yes Gollum I am talking to u) I have always liked Modric I am just not sure that Ancelotti wlll give him up just like that |
from what we are seeing Zaha might be part of the strongest 11. I don't see "one way" Valencia or "cutback and inswinger" Young getting regular playing time ahead of him.if we have those guys as subs we can hope for zaha and a fit Nani to start |
most comments here are not about the match in isolation but in the context of the whole preseason. there hasn't been any convincing 90minutes of play put together and several players are not showing the quality we expect from them. added to this are d comical and so far failed attempts to improve our papier mache midfield. |
Bimfo: Chairman, na CHELSEA player be that nau.. Wetin u dey talk??make una bring 40million plus Oscar or 50 million plus Josh Mcheachran |
De Gea Rafael Vidic Evans Evra Carrick____Anderson Zaha_________________Kagawa _________Januzaj ______RVP preferred line up against Wigan. Smalling,Jones,Cleverly,Nani,Welbeck and Rooney on the bench |
Ogbeche77: Which kind useless combo, those 2 dudes are Wigan standard jare.. It gonna be a long season with this current squad bros I feel ur pain but e no bad reach dt level na. ando-tomC are better than mcarthy-mcarthur na |
elampiro: I think Zaha will bench Valencia. I have to watch Nani again. At every time with ball, Zaha has about three options. He doesn't get locked in.I agree with u on this.no reason why zaha cant go into d 1st 11 he is more dynamic and balanced than Valencia. |
dat midfield porous like papier mache |
another thing, maybe we should ask abt kondogbia ABI dat one sef go reject us? |
bone talk and harmony januzaj has SERIOUS talent! |
Purist: Cleverly substituted. I guess it's fair to say that Anderson-Cleverley 2 man midfield finally failed today. And woefully too.u too bad but watch the members of the Ando-TomC party will come up with an inventive new excuse! they proclaim their combo as if there has ever been a 2 man midfield combo that did not chop akpako in football after playing for a considerable length of time |
akpako season possibly ahead. if moyes doesn't get his act together there is a possibility of missing out on champs league football next season I tell u. when the best points of our preseason are the performances of untested and callow boys like adnan and zaha then there is cause for concern. then u factor in our shambolic moves for a midfielder which would have been comical if it wasn't so sad. since united knew they wanted fab they should have bid much earlier in the window BEFORE thiago left, cos I couldn't see how barca would let both of them go in d same window. 1) barca would hav bin more willing to let him go and 2)if it had failed we would hv had ample time to make bids on other players who were still on d market. these late night rejections no b am at all. |
pls anybody with quality links to the match? |
dademola was right dis una argument no sweet joo! u guys should argue on who was the better playmaker between haruna "ge won lege sere" ilerika and Austin "jayjay" okocha. NOW that's worth pages of this thread and DK's bowl of popcorn ![]() |
elampiro: Rooney Shirt Printing is most popular in 20 years of Premier LeagueLOL |
he just turned 29 same age RVP was when we bought him.having said that I think the rumour is a figment of a very bored journalist's imagination |
coogar: it did not take myhill 720 minutes to get a clean sheet, that's just wrong. if keepers with high minutes are otondos, how did van der sar cop the highest minute of clean sheet keeping in 08/09 with about 1300+ minutes without conceding?. Naa y r u going to van der saar? Use d formula u used for de gea and cech for all d other keepers ON THIS list.its obvious d better keepers hv lower minutes per clean sheat.minutes per goal conceded(van der saar's stat u just used) is different from minutes per clean sheet.pure logic ![]() |
coogar: you cannot apply the direct proportion because they had one clean sheet in all the minutes they played. myhill had one clean sheet in only 90 minutes of the 720 minutes played.it is mathematics like u said but it is also logic.I never said myhill did not concede in 720mins.its obvious u don't understand d stat.d minutes per clean sheet stat shows that it took myhill 720mins to get a clean shet (not dat he didn't concede a goal in 720mins). Forget myhill, calculate d minutes per clean sheet for everybody on d list and u will see dat d top keepers have low figures while d otondos have high figures meaning it takes them(d otondos) longer to get clean sheets |
U divided cech nd de gea's total minutes played by their total clean sheets to get their minutes per clean sheet at abt 228 and 229 respectively.and u claimed because de gea at 229 was higher than cech at 228 that mean de gea with d higher number was better.now do the same thing for d rest of d keepers esp the otondo ones like myhill, tremmel. And rob green |
u r even more confused! divide myhills minutes played by his number of clean sheets to get his minutes per clean sheet.exactly d way u divided for cech and de gea .wat do u come up with? Now do the same for robert green and al habsi. It should be clear even to u by now. |
Lol u r so disingenuous! Ur point was the higher d minutes per clean sheet d better d keeper hence de gea better than cech while my point is the lower d minutes per clean sheet d better d keeper.so from your table calculate the minutes per clean sheet of boaz myhill and robert green and compare it to that of cech and de gea |
Fabville: You are the one getting it wrong. There is nothing wrong in what he has computed up there. The longer the minutes per clean sheet the better.u r d one getting it way wrong.pls study d stats table given.it is not minutes of clean sheet but minutes per clean sheet. There is a difference.it is not how many minutes of clean sheet d keeper has that is meant here but How many minutes a keeper has to keep before he gets one clean sheet.that's y u see cech,de gea nd joe hart having some of d lowest in the entire league(it takes dem less minutes to get a clean sheet than d other keepers) .I explained very clearly in an earlier post.the keepers that kept just 1 or 2 clean sheets have way higher numbers than cech,de gea or even hart (check myhill, robles etc. |
Looooool u have moved to a new stat now (one that appears to favour ur side of d debate).lmao. Well I wasn't arguing wit u on who is better.just wanted to point out d error in d conclusion u made from d 1st stat. D stat on minutes per clean sheet says cech is better. D stat on clean sheets as percentage of matches says de gea is better. |
Cmon u know dt was just an example ,I believe u understand wt I am driving at. Ok let's say d keeper X has 30 clean sheets in 3000mins making the average 100 mins per clean sheet would u rate de gea ahead of dt keeper based on those stats? Analyse ur stats carefully nd understand them.d stats u highlighted show dt in terms of clean sheets cech is better than de gea |
coogar: you think you do, but you don't...... Err coogar u actually didn't interprete that stat d right way.wat it explains is how many minutes it takes to get a clean sheet I.e MINUTES PER CLEAN SHEET so d lower d figure the better(meaning cech is better in dis stat).to explain u see rob elliot wit 1 clean sheet in 834mins and myhill wit 1 clean sheet in 720mins meanind their numbers according to ur equation are 834 and 720 respectively! Dt shud make it obvious that d lower d figure d better d stat for d keeper.for example keeper X with 50 clean sheets in 3000mins will end up with a figure of 60 |
elampiro: Moyes already indicated this. When asked about Thiago before Bayern signed him, Moyes said he has never said Thiago was a target. I guess United knew where they were going from day one. I hope we land Fabregas, then we find who next to 'attack' in the transfer market.if they were so sure of who their target was they should have gone for fabregas earlier(before thiago left for bayern) it would be foolish of barca to let BOTH thiago and fabregas go in the same transfer window,i really don't see it happening. |
paulinho just moved to spurs and dembele n cabaye are both CM types so i dont think getting both would be a good option.dont think cabaye is of the quakity we want and i dont see spurs selling dembele for less than crazy money. we need a CM with some dynamism, skill, passing and vision e.g fabregas,MODRIC etc and a DM who is a useful passer of the ball e.g ......? |
