Please dont ask me for the platform oh, ask Punch. lol Ali stated that it was the realisation of the abuse in the manual auctioning system that made him to suspend it when he assumed office last year.

Customs unveil e-auction platform for vehiclesThe Nigeria Customs Service on Monday unveiled an electronic auction platform by which cargoes that had been forfeited to the Federal Government could be sold to Nigerians through a transparent bidding process. The unveiling of the e-auction platform was performed at the headquarters of the NCS by the Comptroller-General of Customs, Col. Hameed Ali (retd.). Present at the event were members of the e-auction committee made up of representatives of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Standards Organisation of Nigeria, and the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, among others. Ali described the inauguration of the platform as a game-changer for the service as it would bring about a regime of transparency and consistency in the disposal of seized vehicles to Nigerians. He said the approval of the electronic platform was done based on the conviction that it would assist in checking the abuse, which the manual auction process was subjected to in the past. Ali stated that it was the realisation of the abuse in the manual auctioning system that made him to suspend it when he assumed office last year. He said, “The launching of the e-auction platform today marks a complete departure from the manual process of the past that was opened to abuses. “In the past, stakeholders had accused the service of nepotism, short-changing the government of revenue through arbitrary auction fees to be paid by allottees, and sundry corruption allegations against the service.” Copyright PUNCH. APGA writes Nnamdi Kanu, warns IPOB leader not to think himself Igbo “Emperor”
The All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, has decried Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, leader, Nnamdi Kanu’s call on Anambra people to shun forthcoming gubernatorial poll in the state.
The party, in a letter to Mr. Kanu, signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Ifeatu Obiokoye, and made available to the media in Awka on Monday, said the call was irresponsible and devoid of intellectual focus.
It said that Kanu had no authority to speak for the Igbos of the South-East, although APGA acknowledged him as the leader of IPOB.
It explained that Biafra’s concept was a metaphor for the demand for equity and fair play in the Nigeria state and not a separatist movement.
“Nnamdi Kanu’s call for a boycott of elections in the South-East, beginning with the governorship polls scheduled for November 18, 2017 in Anambra is irresponsible, irredentist and totally devoid of any focus.
“You must appreciate that for different logical reasons and perception, the Biafra concept has attracted favourable comments among our people, ostensibly borne out of the marginalisation of Ndigbo in the Nigerian state.
“While youths of the East are agitating for Biafra, the Arewa youths are equally restive; the same goes for Níger Delta youths and youths from Oduduwa states.
“In this popular agitation for Biafra, Ndigbo have not instituted a separatist movement or a terrorist gang as it were. We are more concerned about the continued existence of Nigeria under the present structural arrangement,” it said.
The party said that it stood for restructuring and implementation of the 2014 National Conference resolutions “as a certain way to peaceful co-existence among ethnic nationalities and for dousing tension.
It urged Mr. Kanu not to be carried away by the success of the May 30 sit-at-home call, which was attributable to many reasons, including fear. It demanded a re-visit and implementation of the report of the 2014 national conference, which arguably addressed the parameters for the restructuring of the nation.
The party reminded Mr. Kanu that the right to vote and be voted for was a universally declared right under the United Nations Charter of People’s and Citizenship Right, and in the 1999 Constitution (as amended).
It advised the IPOB leader to drop his “emperor” perception of himself “and humble yourself to the true leadership of Ndigbo for a proper and better articulation of the Biafra struggle”. http://www.premiumtimesng.com/regional/ssouth-east/235174-apga-writes-nnamdi-kanu-warns-ipob-leader-not-think-igbo-emperor.html

Put paragraphs. It makes it easier to read and better organised. Jones4190: Analogy of OPPRESSOR & FOOLISH CITIZENS. (A case study of Nigeria citizens & their elected oppressors). During the Soviet dictatorship of Joseph Stalin. He was a brutal dictator with mind of his own. On one fateful day, Stalin came to Politburo meeting with a live chicken. Standing in front of audience, He started to pluck the feathers of the live chicken off one by one. The chicken trembled in pain, blood tricking out of its pores. It gave out grievous cries, but Stalin being a cruel dictator continued without remorse plucking the feathers out until the chicken was completely Unclad. After which, he threw the chicken on the ground. The Unclad chicken was staggering in pain. Stalin goes into his pocket and from his pockets, he took out some chicken food and started to throw it at the poor & hapless creature. The poor chicken in pain started eating and Stalin started walking towards his seat. As he walked away, he kept dropping some feeds on the floor & the chicken followed him and sat feeding from his feet. Joseph Stalin then turned to members of his political party leadership. He said, "This chicken represents the people". "You must disempower them, brutalise them, beat them up, starve them and then leave them". "If you do this, go into your pocket & give them peanuts when they are in that helpless and desperate situation, they will blindly follow you for the rest of their life, worshiping you". "They will think you are a hero forever. They will forget that, you're responsible for their sorrowful situation in the first place." Breath taking, isn't it ? Now! Take a look at all the people some Nigerians are busy defending on social media. Take a look at those they call their heroes. They are the same people who plunged Nigeria into the situation she is. They are the same people who are responsible for their predicaments. Did you see the numbers of people that throng to Saraki's House during this Sallah period to go collect peanuts? People trooping to Bola Ahmed Tinubu Foundation offices to collect branded One kilo bag of Rice & Noddles. Did you see the number of people of all ages who troop out to welcome Ex- convict James Ibori to South South! Your guess is as good as mine. ndcide: It's so easy to manipulate Nigerians. Especially if you put in fashola in the story.
Of course, using second Niger bridge and Lagos ibadan Road will be a good way to whip up emotions.
The executive have captured projects in locations of interest to specific members of the the executive in the budget, leaving out others. While making arrangements of how to "chop"
What the legislature did was to ensure other areas are captured. There are federal roads in various constituencies that were left out, who will then work on such projects.
Of course fashola wants to complete Lagos - ibadan Road. What about other roads, what about East West Road. Shouldn't they compete it? What is the allocation for the road, will it complete it also? You want to abandon the road?
This thing cuts across. Nigerians, please we've insulted the legislature enough. The executive is manipulating you.
Nigerians please open your eyes. Fashola did not complain about other Federal projects. He only complained about reducing the allocation to Federal projects and then diverting them into constituency projects which are actually state and local government projects. Why not open your own eyes properly before advising others to do same?? Fashola clearly stated that the plan is to complete all ongoing projects before starting new ones! The last administration awarded a lot of projects that were partially funded, what is the sense in abandoning those ones and starting new ones again? What is the sense in moving funds to supposedly state roads without design and tender bids? How did the NASS members arrive at the financial figures they put there? The East West road you mentioned is also an ongoing project, would it have made any sense to have it abandoned while the NASS members are putting in state roads and boreholes as constituency projects?? |
Politics › Re: Fashola Laments Lagos-Ibadan/2nd Niger bridge Budget Cuts by NASS by agabusta: 4:11pm On Jun 23, 2017 |
Gabbyelep: Are those road and expressway projects recurrent expenses? I presume they were supposed to be taken care of in a particular fiscal year as capital projects. Why are they appearing on every year's budgetary estimates? I think the National Assembly did well to reduce these expenses. Corruption is just been carried out every day through these ministries that keep on allocating hard earned tax payers moneys for supposedly capital projects like purchase of computers, construction of roads etc in the budget every year. These men in the executive suits must not just do whatever seems best to them at the expense of the masses. Thumbs up to NASS for reducing the stonky budgetary allocations. As for Fashola, if the contractors threaten to abandon the projects, use the approved allocation and hire new contractors to complete the projects. Is that what you people tell civil servants whenever they threaten to go on strike? No Work, No Pay, you will tell them, so do same to the contractors or are they above the No Work, No Remittances?Whether SAN or not, the legislators have the constitutional right to alter any unscrupulous budgetary estimates. God bless Nigeria. The govt does not have the capacity to pay off the cost once, that is why they pay it in bits yearly. Try and get some simple facts right before insinuating fraud. As for Fashola, if the contractors threaten to abandon the projects, use the approved allocation and hire new contractors to complete the projects. This is quite naive of you. The abandoned project issues we have all over the country are as a result of this mentality. |

EasternWind: A Landlocked Biafra Vs A Deadlocked Northern Nigeria, Who Actually Has The Padlock And Who Has The Keys?
This Hausa man took a deep cut of his gworo and said to me, "Biafra will be landlocked, over populated, they will loose so much wealth and the separation will most likely be a war".
I sipped my wine, because I knew he was on the cheapest fears and I said to him,"I have all the keys to those pad locks".
First look at these.. Two scenarios. A Biafra with the south south and another without the south south. Without the South South... How has landlock stopped a nation from growing? In this era of Antonov An-225 Hercules planes that can lift over 450,000kg equivalent to almost 2 ships and who remembers a SEAPORT in this generation of INTERNET-PORT when 85% of world's transactions are done through high speed broadband Internet. Gambia, Togo, Benin, Mauritania, Guinea etc., all have unlimited assess to the sea. Ha ji ya mee gini? Are they in anyway doing better than Rwanda, Bostwana and little Djibouti. In fact Djibouti is servicing 25 African countries with its Antonov plane nicknamed SKY-PORT that covers its most distant point in Africa from Djibouti in 18hrs while it will take 3 days to move a 40ft container from Apapa to Aba. Rwanda without a StreamPort nor RiverPort, not to talk of seaport is Africa's best growing economy! . In Europe, the PIIGS (Portugal, Italy, Ireland, Greece and Spain) have a peninsulaic access to the sea, whenever the storm of recession comes, it first sweeps them into the same damn sea, they are Eurozone weakest nations while landlocked countries like Luxembourg, Austria and Germany are waxing strong. As in "ha kwu chim n'ala"
In Asia, Qatar, Abu Dhabi, Dubai are not only landlocked but desert locked and how has that affected them? Who sea epp?
If the SS is not Biafra, there are various international corridors and laws that can sort things out, not forgetting that a greater communication with that region must cross through the Southeast (Biafra). But if the Yoruba republics are declared and the complete anticipated Biafra is pronounced with the SouthSouth, though, doesn't actually exist but created politically made to exist. Then the north is simply DEADLOCKED and then mallam, I will advice you to chew less of this gworo now, so you can be able to eat something when it is presented to you.
On the population, what laws says all Biafrans must live in Biafra land? What percentage even lives in the north? Less than 3%, Yes just a handful of Biafrans lives in the North.
When you go to some places in the southeast, the population looks like there is a festivity going on but you must admit that the Greater Tokyo Metropolitan has a population of 37 million people and Monaco has a density of 22,500 per sq. km. I don't see people walking on the heads of others in such places, rather I see a China, India, Japan, USA, Mexico that has harnessed and muscled the strengths of their population into development. Even Lagos explosively developed due to population increase, that people had to push back the sea. 1000 skyscrapers in Biafra land, in no joke will solve the housing problem of Biafra by 95%! Take this to the bank! . On Biafrans loosing their wealth, I need not go outside Nigeria for an answer. In 1970, Biafrans got £20 and in 1975, there were millionaires already in Biafra land, the likes of Chisco, Ekene Dili Chukwu, Emeka Offor and even in 1979, Alex Ekwueme single handedly sponsored NPN to presidency that he was rewarded with a VP seat. Now show me one man, east, south, north and west that is wealthy from all the inheritance of the abandoned property?
The North is still underdeveloped, impoverished and incomparably out of tone with the 21st century.
On separations meaning a war... This defines the sum of the accumulation of the northern cowardice, as if Russia broke up through a war, what about Eritrea? Singapore and Malaysia? There are more peaceful resolutions to conflicts than the vampire attitudes of the Northern Nigeria but let it be clear to you mallam; eshi à muru dike na mba, ka à muru ibe ya!
The problem of the Northern Nigeria is that they are brain-locked, spiritually-locked, psycho-locked, greed-locked, future-locked, even landlocked and above all DEADLOCKED by their ancestors who have long lost the keys to UNLOCK their future and yet they want everyone to synchronize with their backwardness and then still think its about PDP vs APC political affairs.
