E-Auction Advert (Terms and Conditions)

Nigeria Customs Service wishes to inform the general public about its readiness to deploy the e-auction platform via https://app.trade.gov.ng/eauction as from 1st July, 2017.
Consequently, all those who want to participate in the e-auction process are advised to note the following terms and conditions:

• Applicant must have a valid TIN issued by the FIRS with an active e-mail account.

• An applicant shall pay a non refundable fee of One Thousand Naira (N1,000.00) as administrative charge.

• An Item is auctioned “as is” as such request for replacement or refund shall not be entertained.

• The successful bidder shall make payment within five (5) working days.

• Failure to pay within five (5) working days the item reverts to the second (2nd) highest bidder.

• The successful bidder has two (2) weeks from the date of payment to remove the item bidded for or forfeit same at the expiration of the two (2) weeks.

• Any auction item not removed from the warehouse within fourteen (14) days from the date of payment shall revert to its pre-bidding status.

• Take note for overtime cargo, that the successful bidder shall in addition pay 25% charges for Shipping line and Terminal operator respectively.

• Bidders shall be allowed to bid for more than 2 items per bidding window.

• For claiming items, the winner shall present;

i. A valid copy of paid assessment and bank receipt (optional in case of e-payment);

ii. E-mailed code to identify owner after payment;

iii. A notarized letter in case owner sends representative. (Where owner is present uploaded photo on registration will do.)

iv. Provide proper identification with the notarized letter such as International passport, Driver’s licence, Voters card or National I.D.

• The dwell time for this Online Auction Sale shall be Twenty-Eight (28) days.

• Third party claims shall not be entertained.

• Officers of the Nigeria Customs Service are excluded from participating in this Auction.

• Owner of seized item is excluded from bidding for same.

• Conditions and terms of this auction are to be carefully considered by an interested person before acceptance.

The All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, has decried Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, leader, Nnamdi Kanu’s call on Anambra people to shun forthcoming gubernatorial poll in the state.

The party, in a letter to Mr. Kanu, signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Ifeatu Obiokoye, and made available to the media in Awka on Monday, said the call was irresponsible and devoid of intellectual focus.

It said that Kanu had no authority to speak for the Igbos of the South-East, although APGA acknowledged him as the leader of IPOB.

It explained that Biafra’s concept was a metaphor for the demand for equity and fair play in the Nigeria state and not a separatist movement.

“Nnamdi Kanu’s call for a boycott of elections in the South-East, beginning with the governorship polls scheduled for November 18, 2017 in Anambra is irresponsible, irredentist and totally devoid of any focus.

“You must appreciate that for different logical reasons and perception, the Biafra concept has attracted favourable comments among our people, ostensibly borne out of the marginalisation of Ndigbo in the Nigerian state.

“While youths of the East are agitating for Biafra, the Arewa youths are equally restive; the same goes for Níger Delta youths and youths from Oduduwa states.

“In this popular agitation for Biafra, Ndigbo have not instituted a separatist movement or a terrorist gang as it were. We are more concerned about the continued existence of Nigeria under the present structural arrangement,” it said.

The party said that it stood for restructuring and implementation of the 2014 National Conference resolutions “as a certain way to peaceful co-existence among ethnic nationalities and for dousing tension.

It urged Mr. Kanu not to be carried away by the success of the May 30 sit-at-home call, which was attributable to many reasons, including fear.
It demanded a re-visit and implementation of the report of the 2014 national conference, which arguably addressed the parameters for the restructuring of the nation.

What the legislature did was to ensure other areas are captured. There are federal roads in various constituencies that were left out, who will then work on such projects.

Of course fashola wants to complete Lagos - ibadan Road. What about other roads, what about East West Road. Shouldn't they compete it? What is the allocation for the road, will it complete it also? You want to abandon the road?

This thing cuts across. Nigerians, please we've insulted the legislature enough. The executive is manipulating you.

Are those road and expressway projects recurrent expenses? I presume they were supposed to be taken care of in a particular fiscal year as capital projects. Why are they appearing on every year's budgetary estimates? I think the National Assembly did well to reduce these expenses. Corruption is just been carried out every day through these ministries that keep on allocating hard earned tax payers moneys for supposedly capital projects like purchase of computers, construction of roads etc in the budget every year. These men in the executive suits must not just do whatever seems best to them at the expense of the masses. Thumbs up to NASS for reducing the stonky budgetary allocations. As for Fashola, if the contractors threaten to abandon the projects, use the approved allocation and hire new contractors to complete the projects. Is that what you people tell civil servants whenever they threaten to go on strike? No Work, No Pay, you will tell them, so do same to the contractors or are they above the No Work, No Remittances?Whether SAN or not, the legislators have the constitutional right to alter any unscrupulous budgetary estimates. God bless Nigeria.

As for Fashola, if the contractors threaten to abandon the projects, use the approved allocation and hire new contractors to complete the projects.

Rwanda without a StreamPort nor RiverPort, not to talk of seaport is Africa's best growing economy!

Even Lagos explosively developed due to population increase, that people had to push back the sea. 1000 skyscrapers in Biafra land, in no joke will solve the housing problem of Biafra by 95%! Take this to the bank!

On Biafrans loosing their wealth, I need not go outside Nigeria for an answer. In 1970, Biafrans got £20 and in 1975, there were millionaires already in Biafra land, the likes of Chisco, Ekene Dili Chukwu, Emeka Offor and even in 1979, Alex Ekwueme single handedly sponsored NPN to presidency that he was rewarded with a VP seat. Now show me one man, east, south, north and west that is wealthy from all the inheritance of the abandoned property?

The North is still underdeveloped, impoverished and incomparably out of tone with the 21st century.

On separations meaning a war...
This defines the sum of the accumulation of the northern cowardice, as if Russia broke up through a war, what about Eritrea? Singapore and Malaysia? There are more peaceful resolutions to conflicts than the vampire attitudes of the Northern Nigeria but let it be clear to you mallam; eshi à muru dike na mba, ka à muru ibe ya!

The problem of the Northern Nigeria is that they are brain-locked, spiritually-locked, psycho-locked, greed-locked, future-locked, even landlocked and above all DEADLOCKED by their ancestors who have long lost the keys to UNLOCK their future and yet they want everyone to synchronize with their backwardness and then still think its about PDP vs APC political affairs.

BREAKING: Controversy surrounds money recovered from Justice Ngwuta

Counting of the sums of money allegedly recovered from the official residence of a Justice of the Supreme Court, Justice Sylvester Ngwuta, and which were ordered by a Federal High Court in Abuja, to be deposited in the Central Bank of Nigeria on Thursday, has revealed a discrepancy of a total amount of N22,160.

Justice John Tsoho, before whom Ngwuta is being prosecuted on money laundering and passport fraud charges, disclosed on Friday that while the prosecution claimed to have tendered N35,358,000, the counting witnessed by representatives of the court and parties in the case on Thursday, revealed that the amount actually tendered was N35,335,840.

The judge said this while informing the court about the report of the counting submitted to him shortly after proceedings commenced on Friday.

There were no problems with the money in other currencies.

The prosecution had through the leader of the Department of State Service’s search team, Mr. John Utazi, that allegedly recovered the various sums of money in local and foreign currencies from Ngwuta’s house, tendered the money before the court as exhibits earlier on Thursday.

The money was contained in nine bags and boxes.

Out of the nine items, eight of them contained naira notes, which Utazi said totaled N35,358,000.

He said the ninth bag contained £25,915; $319,596 (USD); R50 (South African rands); €280 (euros); 380 ( dirhams); and 420 dalasis.

The items were opened during the Thursday’s proceedings to reveal the content but the counting in the presence of the representatives of the court and parties to the case was done after court proceedings on Thursday.

But under cross-examination by the lead defence counsel, Chief Kanu Agabi (SAN), on Friday, Utazi insisted that the amount he delivered to the court was N35,358,000, which he earlier claimed and not N35,335,840 which the report of the counting revealed.

Utazi said, “What I delivered to the exhibit keeper yesterday (Thursday) was N35,358,000.”

When asked, he said, “I was not present when the money was counted.”

When pressed to answer if he disagreed with the report of the counting, Utazi said, “What I delivered
N35,358,000.

“I stand by what I delivered to the court.

“I meticulously counted the money.I don’t know whether to agree or not but what I delivered to the court was N35,358,000”
