Apparently not as much as your generals and defence ministry officials got buying fighter jets you are too mentally handicapped to fly.

“South Africa acquired three submarines that spend most of the time on the ‘hard’ at Simon’s Town and 50 BAE Hawk and BAE/Saab Gripen fighter aircraft for which the country had almost no pilots to fly them, mechanics to maintain them, or even the money to fuel them.

(Mail & Guardian [Johannesburg], April 21, 2012). Without money to operate sophisticated equipment, skilled staff continue to flee at the end of their enlistment and there is little opportunity for new recruits to train in skills useful in the civilian world. Parliament's Joint Standing Committee on Defense has described abuse of women in the SANDF as "common," adding that many female recruits have been impregnated by their instructors (BUAnews, November 26, 2011).

You are apparently good at impregnating female recruits. Good for you!!
Submarine that cannot do real combat, SAN is just a photo piece

More opinion based Bull sh:t!

OH!!!!!!!!! and BTW NAF does not have any T-129s, so why are you comparing a weapon system that Nigeria does not have?
How many times have you guys posted DENEL weapons that are still inside laboratory test phase here?

Plus project Biro OPV that has no name grin

Nigeria is currently buying aircraft and armour, it's public knowledge, NAF has chosen T-129 Ataka !

Where's the mechanised infantry?

They'll be diner for "anti-tank hunter teams".
Naa !

T-72 Tanks will use smoke dispensers to neutralize the laser guidance systems of all SANDF Ingwe anti-tank missiles.

Palmaria SPHA in direct fire mode will eat up all Ratel Ingwe launchers from 7 km away.

What anti-tank hunter teams do you have? Nigerian army infantry will be eating up your manpower shortage ridden troops, we have an army 3 times bigger, your tank hunters will be busy trying to survive after we surround your army completely in a circle, your ATGM won't even see the turret of a T-72, you won't get so close when your army is already encircles and gasping for breath....ZERO war experienced SANDF grin

MikeCZAR:
Rooivalk: 6 Hardpoints.
T-129: 4 Hard points.
Rooivalk has 4 hardpoints, the 2 wing tips are only for 2 air to air missiles which helicopters hardly ever use, SAAF does not have such missiles.

T-129 uses multiple racks on it's 4 hardpoints and it has missile pods for multiple many air to air missiles and extra gun pods, meaning the T-129 actually uses those 4 hardpoints to carry more weapons, missiles and guns than the Rooivalk. You see what we have been saying? Rooivalk is an obsolete design, a 1980s old war concept helicopter
.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by agaugust: 2:43am On May 10, 2015
MikeCZAR:
Lightweight scout type of helicopter.

Not in the class of MI-28, Rooivalk and Apache!
T-129 is an attack helicopter, and it's recce/combat.

It has superior fling endurance than Mi-28, Rooivalk, or Apache.

T-129 can do recce for hours to find target and then attack. Those bigger helicopters would have run out of fuel on patrol
.

MikeCZAR:
If you were to deploy outside Nigeria, you'll need air traffic control capabilities.

Or your jets will not operate during bad weather and limited at night.

Show us your military deployable air traffic and control radars.
Who told you that air forces carry full scale air traffic control radars to FAB ? Air bases with hundreds of combat aircraft have been operating successfully without air traffic control radar since world war I in 1918.

Most air forces in the world will operate an FOB without long range radar.

F-7NI is all weather day/night fighter, even old MiG-21 was doing night combat in Indo-Paki wars.

Military air forces don't need air traffic control radar to operate an FOB of 2 squadron aircraft, unless they are dummies like SAAF whose Southie brains need computers for basic arithmetic.

If South Africa has a big war with 5 forward air bases, do you have 5 mobile radars? The same radars you are claiming for SAAF are the very same mobile radars that belong to SADF army regiments, so when you donate those 3 or 5 radars to air bases, what radar will warn/safeguard your army on 5 different war fronts against enemy air attack?

You like to talk like if SANDF is tall, but it's feeble legs are very short grin grin

Is the Gripen the same class of aircraft as the Su-24?

Rooivalk has a bigger payload.

The same gun... and more ammunition for it.

Again, you shot your mouth off before doing your homework and have embarrassed yourself.

Rooivalk can deploy more weapons, thus it has more firepower. Fact.
I just showed you that aircraft firepower superiority is not measured by payload size.

Su-24 Fencer and Gripen jet are both built to do air to ground attack, the Gripen has more firepower because it carries better weapons technology despite the Su-24 Fencer carrying extra 3,000 kg of weapons above the capacity of the Gripen.

Use your head, even though I know you never really do.....dummy !

T-129 - 20mm with only 500 rounds
Rooivalk - 20mm with 700 rounds.

1.4 times more firepower.

T-129 maximum weapons payload - 1,200kg
http://www.army-technology.com/projects/t129-attack-helicopter/

Rooivalk maximum weapons payload - 2000kg
http://www.flightglobal.com/FlightPDFArchive/1994/1994%20-%202293.PDF

1.6 times more weapons payload.

(((BOOM)))

PS: do some research next-time
Su-24 jet payload 8,000 kg
Gripen jet payload 5,300 kg

Does heavier load make the Su-24 better than Gripen?

Payload is not same as engagement firepower, the 4 barrel gun is 4 times more powerful.

Extra payload for weaker guns and obsolescent munitions weakens the Rooivalk.....NAF is pushing SAAF further backward behind us shocked shocked

Official number is 56

end of story
There is no 56 in that source, Czech is 56 T-72 M1, Ukraine supplied the T-72 AV, and we have seen both variants in service, M1 with RHA and AV with ERA.

How does 56 M1 become the only tank in Nigerian T-72 arsenal? All those AV variants in battle field of many different towns and more arriving loaded on ships at Lagos seaports, their total number = 0....right?

Butt Hurt....T-72 125mm guns to eat up 105mm Olifant tanks grin grin

- 56 T-72s ordered.

I trade in facts. Not opinion. Not feelings.

Nope, fact is 56 T-72 M1 tanks from Czech republic only.

A total of 200 T-72 tanks ordered by Nigeria, 65% delivered according to president Jonathan.

T-72 AV tanks ordered from Ukraine....confirmed by Ukraine's minister for defence
:

"Previously there was no information about contracts on delivery of such armaments to Nigeria. However, the information about the repair works of T-72AV at State Enterprise “Lviv Armor Repair Plant” appeared in September 2014. Concerning the BTR-4E, it seems that small part of 42 BTR-4E APCs batch designed for Iraq, was sold to Nigeria, after Iraq refused to accept them.

On March 26, 2014, Ukraine’s ex-PM Yulia Tymoshenko asked the Security Service of Ukraine to investigate the sale of military equipment to foreign states during the time of Russian military aggression against Ukraine. She also noted, that she had the information about the preparation of delivery of T-72 tanks and BTR-4E APCs to Nigeria.

Valeriy Heletey, then-Defense Minister of Ukraine, refuted some part of Tymoshenko’s statements, while confirmed the existence of a sales contract between Ukraine and Nigeria. “The contract was signed during the presidency of Viktor Yanukovych, and in case of inability to fulfill this contract, Ukraine will be obliged to pay the penalties.” – said Mr. Heletey.

- you're taking the extra export to be more delusional today, I'll give you that, and for your extra effort, I'll oblige.

Denel requires 100 orders to restart your Half-french line. Whose going to order your obsolete Helicopter over the Apache, tiger, MI-28, Mi-35m, T-129, Z-10...... Nobody!! Wake up.

- Project biro is 23years old, this is a fact!!!

- you have 9 pilots for 26 planes. you have an even serve shortage of actual qualified pilots.

- your Project biro has always been in comatose.

- the Nigerian Airforce MI-35m is the most advanced attack helicopter in Sub-saharan Africa, only second behind the egyptian Apache in Africa.

- the Nigerian Navy has 1 Frigate, 4 corvettes and 6 missile crafts in service. Assets which can be called upon if and when the need Arises. "Nobody uses a Dynamite to deal with a rat problem".

The Nigerian Navy has a force tairlored to deal with it's requirements, as such the Navy boosts of over 300 vessels, IPVs, MPVs, OPV's and long endurance cutters. The Nigerian Navy is an efficient properly excuted force.

- the Nigerian Army ordered at-least 200 T-72 tanks from the Czech republic, Ukraine, belarus. The Army also ordered at-least 300 MRAPs, 120 CS/VP3's from china, 50+ Reva's from ICP, 120+ Igirigi and Streit MK3's.

This is a fact.

- you only have 5 Patria IFV's in service. The Afrikanner industry is adding turrets, Bravo! You sure showed them.

The SANDF is a poorly equipped, poorly trained force lacking in skill and ethos required of a proper military.

Your very own defence minister took the words right from my mouth,

Mapisa-Nqakula -- stated unambiguously that the SANDF was in a state of decline characterised by force imbalance between capabilities, ageing technology, and unaffordability of many of its main operating systems.

Furthermore,

"Unfortunately, the SANDF is already sitting with an array of expensive hardware that it cannot deploy, either because it lacks the skilled crews – or because it can’t afford the running costs."
Nice yarn !
