Training and experience walk hand in hand, but on a scale of preference, experience beats training.
There are heavily trained field soldiers who freeze when they see battle.Battle simulations are quite different from real life combat,on the practice ground, the biggest fatality you can sustain is a nose bleed, broken bone, wounded pride and serious tongue lashing from your disgruntled superior.but is real combat, failure means death. That is why many soldiers, even though they've got training, tend to loose nerve in the middle of real action.Trainers can only teach the troops and hope for the best.
But experience is a rare attribute needed for a formidable armed force.Even without preliminary training, once you've got the experience, you've got the training needed.
Nice reply there bro.

Nigeria has a rapidly growing infrastructural sector, and the country within the last 4 years has paved/built enough roads, that in length is half of planet earth.

Nigeria is also home to Africa's most Ambitious projects Eko-Atlantic city and Centenary city. Our Rail project was also named in one of the world's Top 10 projects largest projects.

It is a fact that SA has the best defence industry in Africa. If you don't know that look at Sipri to see which African country is in the top 20 arms exporter.
Defence industry is manufacturing, not exporting. You are talking about overseas sales instead of industrial production.

The biggest and best defence industry in Africa is Egypt, but their military is so big and powerful with millions of soldiers, that they absorb all their defence manufacturing into their armed forces and nothing left for export.

Egypt has manufactured about 1,000 main battle tanks, but South Africa has NEVER manufactured even 1 piece.

Egypt manufactured jet fighter engines but South Africa does not.

Egypt has manufactured over 10,000 guided missiles but South Africa is still 10 times far behind in numbers produced.

Egypt manufactures modern long range ballistic missiles designed locally at home and built at home, South Africa does not have any functioning ballistic missile in it's arsenal and has NOT produced a modern ICBM in history.

The best and biggest defence industry in Africa is that of Egypt, but they don't go on internet and boast like the empty barrel called South Africa

FACT !!

You can have intelligent officers with degrees from every military academy in the world get beaten by rebels.

Training>experience.
Every standard army has standard training, even Zimbabwe is well trained.

Combat experience makes the difference between different armies.

The army with training alone has one strength, the army with both training and battlefield experience has two strengths combined.

War experience is the icing sugar and cream on the cake....and that is what has downgraded SANDF to the level of Botswana

The SANDF COP is something Nigerians could only dream of, compared to your poorly entrenched position, with ammunition strewn about the place in haphazard fashion, men who dont even have a uniform, rusty old AK's no communications equipment and foreigners operating your equipment for you
That Nigerian army Konduga base was 100% safe in 20 attacks and lost only one soldier but killed 1,000 enemy soldiers in 6 months.

You are sitting down a laptop to criticize an army unit that won all it's battles and won a war in record time.

Nothing ever went wrong with ammunition storage, the war is over, only you dream of an explosion inside the base. Go sell your nincompoop analysis to your SANDF inexperienced army, they would enjoy base defence and ammunition storage lecture from a mere Soweto civilian.

Your dreams are becoming like narcotic hallucinations, your PHOTO 1 below is NOT human blond hair, it's a part of the pilot's collar neck region clothing and and kit.

Your PHOTO 2 below shows you have overdose of cocaine inhaled through both your nose, ears, and eyes ! There are Nigerians with super light skin and almost white hands, see my own PHOTOS number 3 and 4.

You must have been drugged overnight weekend and dumped in a bar toilet before you woke up to browse Nairaland, see your ugly Soweto face like that of Okafor in comedy !

If you managed to keep up with the argument you would notice that augugbug has been soundly defeated and has resorted to posting pictures of mechanics and passing them off as tank crews

Simple fact of the matter is that your tank crews are not properly equipped

Even sanction starved rhodesia was able to give their tank crews proper equipment
Nigeria is not a hollywood and internet photo army, our tank crews have coveralls and standard uniforms including standard tank crew headgear/helmet with communications attached. The fact that they don't show it all in open photos does not mean they don't have it.

Grow up dude, how much does a T-72 tank cost? About $ 2 million for a tank, then you think a mere $300 coverall uniform is too much for Nigeria to buy? We even sew and make those uniforms in NA factory in Lagos.

Fool of Soweto....see Nigerian scorpion tank crew below in large numbers with full tank crew uniforms and tank crew special headgear that has both communication headphones and face protection visors all included.....world class Nigerian tank crew !

Nope argument has allways been about uniform.
Uniform does not win you a war. Seleka has no standard uniform, but they defeated SANDF in less than 24 hours battle, many of them wearing just jeans and T-shirts, they drove out SANDF wearing special expensive cam uniforms, and a lot of boxes of spare SANDF uniforms were abandoned by the fleeing Soweto army. If Seleka wears SANDF uniform tomorrow we all know how they got it.

By the way, that incident means SANDF special uniform is now readily available for sale in the black market of Bangui grin grin

First deployment was operation Corona, new assignment is right inside Kruger Park chasing and shooting Rhino poachers who dribbled SANDF into submission.....

SADF used foreigners for one battalion out of an army of 500 000 men.

The men hired were fromer SANDF and SADF

The Vice corrispondent said that the Strike Force was trained by foreigners - who provided an airwing as well

And who says it is a victory? You think COIN is won by holding ground?
SADF NEVER had 500,000 troops inside Angola, you would have wiped out the 50,000 Cubans in one day.

You had only 4,000 troops at any time on frontline, with 1,000 mercenaries imported from USA and Europe, then the recces and buffalo battalions also had hundreds of Angolans, Zimbabweans, Mozambicans etc all helping South Africa to stop Cuba from driving straight into Pretoria

Hired South African private company that has soldiers from all over the world. We did NOT hire SANDF....South African military.

The SADF used mercenaries NOT private military companies but real mercenary fighters in thousands to fight Cuban army in Angola !

The VICE reporter said that despite the few PMC that trained the small strike force of MRAP men....not T-72, not dismount infantry, not artillery, not air force.....just mwntored the already Nigerian army tarined the small Strike force only.....Vice reporter said it was still a TOTALLY NIGERIAN ARMY WAR AND VICTORY.....that was the conclusion at the end of the video, go play it again shocked shocked

When South African army grows up to Nigerian army's advanced experience level and builds hundreds of bases for 30,000 men spread over land as big as Scotland inside a real life war zone, come back and talk to us on Nairaland

SANDF lost their base to Seleka in just one attack, why did you not forward your 'advisory tactic's to your country's army?

You do know what a mortar is right? Because it don't care about terrain and they have a range of 2km for the small ones and above 10km for the big ones.
Nigerian army had artillery cover for that range up to 26 km range, play the video again.

We defeated 20 attacks on that base and killed 1,000 enemy fighters while we lost only 1.

That Nigerian base is perfect, the commandant has been promoted and medals won by those men !
