The Eagle Mobile Central Command Post is a vehicle
mounted with various Information Communication and
Technology equipment. This on board equipment gives the
Theatre Commander the opportunity to have first hand
information of the battle space. From the vehicle the
commander has access to both ground troops and air assets
within the battle space.

The Eagle Mobile Central Command Post was borne out of
the necessity to further support the war against terrorism
and insurgency in the country. As earlier mentioned, it is a
mobile Central Command Post that is designed to link up
with the troops in the field, as well as the command
hierarchy.

With this, the President, Commander-in-Chief, Minister of
Defence, Chief of Defence Staff and the Service Chiefs can
have real time contact with the troops in the field. Added to
this, the Eagle Mobile Central Command Post affords close
monitoring of the activities of the troops and passage of real
time information from strategic level to operational and
tactical levels.

Furthermore, the platform affords the Chief of Air Staff on
the move to have a look at the performance of surveillance
or reconnaissance aircrafts.

The project is designed as constructed by Major General C T
Olukoju of the Nigerian Army.

A South African posted here last month that only their country has modern mobile C2 capability in Africa, and that all the other AU countries who came to AMANI 2015 will learn how to use a C2 mobile command post.

I asked him if he knows all the equipment that other African armies have, or is he the chief of army staff for all African countries?

I think the behaviour and mindset of South Africans is one of the reasons Africa will find it difficult to unite and work together. Its a fact, like it or not, EU and NATO countries dont have that kind of 'WE ARE CITY, THE REST OF YOU ARE JUNGLE' attitude.

The South Africans should see this and learn not to assume things about other African military forces. Talking anyhow as if only them even have rifle and bullets, other AU countries'armies fight with bow and arrows in 2016.

Naija COIN
Nigerian army HQ announced its increasing Special Forces numbers to 10,000 SF men ! Biggest SF in the world? The Nigerian SF have a mix of Nigerian, American, British, Bellorussian, and Israeli Special Forces training combined. People say 10,000 SF is too much for Nigeria alone, arguing that they are already many and near the 5,000 men mark, see their photos al over the internet, very many in reality, they are all over North East and their presence and numbers is one of the reasons Boko Haram has not won any battle in a whole year. Keep the nice photos coming, let the world see African special forces in real life war zone.

You should go teach NATO forces some ASW tactics, considering their most modern ASW equipment and tactics failed to locate our Sub and were subsequently sunk!!

Obviously if NATO used the tactics of the military researcher/accountant/financial manager/blogger/retaard Augustine they would've been able to sink our Heroine class with old Shaldag boats.

Although I must confess, you also said it will take only one SAN Sub to sink the entire NN!! So why are you now contradicting yoursrlf??

Anyway I'll leave the rest of your post for Patches689 to destroy!!
Patches is my student, I teach him about sea warfare, he does not know the difference between passive and active sonar systems, he is old enough to be my uncle, but he is my student under my tutorship.

When did I say one SAN sub will sink the entire NN? Quote where me agaugust said so !

I just showed you how a mere Shaldag boat can sink your submarine .

LOL...NATO deployed mostly old obsolete warships and some transport or fuel tanker ships with no sonar to play with your submarine, why don't your sub snorkel in that war game and see hell? Why did your sub not fire a dud torpedo and see NATO anti-torpedo decoys is action and watch NATO ships release a dozen torpedoes in counter-attack to sink your submarine?

I don't get carried away by newspaper stories, I simulate real war with realities of what will happen in the battle theatre. Your sub fires once and its position is known, NATO will reply with a dozen times more fire.

Your world class white men doctors have mostly run away to America, Europe, Australia.....I see them beside me here in the USA.....your Zulus did not go to school due to apartheid enslavement and South Africa now depends on African immigrant doctors especially Nigerians, we own your medical sector, we can inject you all to death if we want.

LOL....since when did medical practice and teaching practice become an odd job? Sure your poor South African education system did not define the meaning of odd job for you.

Meanwhile, foreigners doing odd jobs in your country while your own illiterate citizens remain unemployed and refuse to do odd jobs, rather eating free food as parasites under ANC goverment, is part of the reason South Africa has declined and lost the glory of the apartheid days of a well managed country that was compared by some to Europe.

And you did not know what fathoming sonar was until I educated you grin grin grin

And who cares? My brothers recreational fishing boat has one as well grin

No, that is not how sonar works. Simplistic sonar like fathoming sonar only picks up certain frequencies not multi-band and it does not emit at a high enough rate to detect a sub that will be under the boat for a second or two.

Which of your sattelights? The environmental one? The weather one? The Geo-referencing one?

The whole gulf? how good is it at detecting things below the surface?

yeah, I thought so cheesy

1. Thats what the angoland thought, until we used commandoes and subs to destory their oil wells grin grin

Apart from the one that lasted 25 years, involved well over 200 000 combatants, fighter jets, artillery, advanced SAMs, submarines, aerial dog-fights, tanks, tank-duels, drones, ATGMs, glide-bombs and over 36 pitched conventional battles.

Which wars has Nigeria fought against a modern trained army?

None?

Ok then cheesy

Yes, the 8% of men - cooks, clerks, drivers and mechanics... who have ARV's and live healthy lives cheesy cheesy

For 100 points: What is the Drakensburg?

Which replenishment vessels do you have again?

Also: PIC RELATED

You mean you have no valid response?
You did NOT educate me about fathoming sonar, its simple English, fathom is sea depth and that is common English language, sonar is well known to most of us on this forum. Fathoming sonar is basic English as I educated you.

Fool, not all sonars work by detecting emmissions, that is a PASSIVE sonar, the Shaldag Echo Sounder is an ACTIVE sonar that works by simply hitting a solid object and relaying back the information to the control room. Shaldag will detect your lone ranger submarine (SAN has full complement/combat crew for ONLY ONE SUBMARINE at a time according to defenceweb reports) as the echo sounder waves bounce back from the big metal submarine hull.

Now I am showing you that I am the one educating you, PASSIVE SONAR VS ACTIVE SONAR, new lesson you didnt know, so I just taught you.

A few Nigerian Shaldag boats will together team up and box in your submarine and follow it around until battery runs down and your submarine is forced to snorkel for air to survive or remain submerged and die underwater.

Then the Shaldags will open fire with 6 autocannons on the Submarine and water begins to flood your sub until it sinks to sea bottom dead.

Your submarine crew will curse the day they joined South African Navy !!

Every other thing in your long post as I say, is just garbage like this one I replied to, so I will just ignore the rest of your rubbish posted above.

So if a Valour Class is a corvette... what does that make every ship in your navy? Dingies? Yachts?

FATHOMING SONAR IS FOR DETERMINING DEPTH YOU IGNORAMUS!!
Fathoming sonar you didnt know till I educated you it exists on Shaldag.

It's actually called an ECHO SOUNDER on the Shaldag , I just used the old English of fathoming sonar. It is meant to detect anything under water below the Shaldag boat.

Yes for getting sea depth and ANY OBJECT UNDER THE SONAR WILL BE DETECTED including a submarine under water, the metal shows a different wave reflection rate than sea bed you fool !

It will detect your submarine !

Nigerian radar satellite will detect your surfaced submarine from the time it leaves navy base in South Africa heading up to Namibia.

Sorry but we have better relations with Cameroon than Nigeria.

And we have 9 C-130/and 0 soldiers die in them

Why should our Sub sail submerged to Nigeria?

Out of your 200 or so vessels only 1 can engage our sub, but unfortunately it's out of service, so you have 0 vessels with ASW capability, also only 1 of your vessels can be fiited with SSMs but unfortunately it's the same ship as mentioned above.

You don't have corvettes, you have 3rd gen fighters, you only have 1 frigate that hadn't been operational for more than 5 years, you have civilian grade satellites while we have a $250 million dedicated spy satellite, we have a tactical data link, we also have armed drones.
Military forces of Nigeria and Cameroon are working together in MJNTF, and fighting alongside each other as comrades, so how does South Africa have a better relationship?

You wan't to drive your army on land to Nigeria? Then we too will drive 50,000 Nigerian troops on land to South Africa with T-72, Palmaria artillery, and Bofors artillery, Roland SAM, Shilka AAA, Type 90 AAA, then add our 23mm double cannon LAVs, we have an army bigger than yours at your doorstep.....meanwhile 30 battalions of SANDF are HIV weak and sick, they have no stamina to fight war.

If your submarine sails not submerged, it will be detected 2,000 km away from Nigeria, and at 500 km away, Alpha jets will sink your lone ranger sub. You have complete crew of sailors for ONLY ONE submarine, dumbo brain Zulus cannot raise a crew for an extra submarine.

Your satellite is a Russian monkey model civilian grade observation satellite according to SIPRI arms transfer reports, you have NO spy satellite, and you have only one observation type, so you lack 24 hours satellite coverage, Nigeria has 3 satelites and we have round the clock satellite surveillance.

Your tactical data link has been proved not to work, you have intercom instead, like any other basic MTN intercom service.

Your Valour ships are downgraded by your own navy to PATROL CORVETTES.

Your submarine will die while snorkeling to recharge battery, NAF will kïll it dead.

A Nigerian navy high speed Shaldag ocean interceptor vessel with underwater fathoming sonar will run faster than your submarine torpedoes, if your sub snorkels, Shaldag will sink it.

You have NO armed drone in service if you talk about manufacturing anything, I will talk about Nigeria reactivating our 3 Lynx Anti-Submarine Warfare helicopters to kïll your submarine and torpedo your Valour corvettes, and I will also reactivate NNS Aradu with her deadly anti-ship, anti-aircraft, and anti-submarine powers.

South Africa is good enough to defeat Mozambique

i want you to do some research on america counter insurgency war especially in Afghanistan .ordinary soldiers were employed in this war as was the special units .you dont need to neglect the involvement of a regular soldier, what is needed is a better trained and well equipped soldier.there are report that most AMISOM troops when deployed to somalia never leave their camps to interact with the locals, also they carry out vehicle patrols not on foot thus not gathering intelligence on whats going on.i hope you have seen alot of news report and documentaries ,NATO troops on foot patrols, searching compounds which force the taliban to employ anti-personnel IED's just to slow them down.AMISOM has a force of 20,000 and still they say thats not enough, now your talking about a force of 2,500 how is that going to be possible!
need to watch this documentary
That 'ordinary' American regular soldier is better trained than some special forces in African armies. USA has a whole 'city' called National Training Center Fort Irwin, where live COIN combat against Islamic terrorists is simulated in an urban city and rural field scenarios. Such training facility and doctrine does not exist in Africa for Islamic Terrorism COIN.

You see him as a basic regular NATO troop from the US Army, but he has Fort Irwin training that beats most special forces in Africa when it comes to Islamic terror COIN.

You have this in Africa ? http://v-e-n-u-e.com/In-the-Box-A-Tour-Through-the-Simulated-Battlefields-of-the-U-S-Army

I said 2,500 SF because the regulars will still be there as 20,000 men (30% of them may be non-combatants, so maybe just 14,000 combatants), but the hard nut cracking force will be the 2,500 SF...they are the ones who will do all those things the regulars cannot do because of poor training and doctrine, you said it yourself below...

africaken:
There are report that most AMISOM troops when deployed to somalia never leave their camps to interact with the locals, also they carry out vehicle patrols not on foot thus not gathering intelligence on whats going on.
That is the difference between a regular soldier or a conventional warfare SF, there is a new need now for COIN SF, the Belorussians, Russians, Americans, British, Israelis, are already stepping up training of these special units. I work for a PMC in Yankee land, that is why I know what I am advocating for. Our PMC security guards are now having COIN based training, makes them different from other PMC that have just conventional 'mercenary' type of training. We now build up men for COIN special operations.

AU should step up. 5,000 men COIN SF with the best of modern equipment, a force of Light-Fast-Highly mobile-Devastating firepower armaments-Portable hi-tech surveillance/spyware-etc, they will begin to penetrate the nucleus and cut off the life wire of El-shabbab, hitting the terrorists by surprise where it hurts most, causing rapid attrition by inflicting heavy casualties on the best men and equipment of El-Shabbab, that is the only way to degrade and defeat Islamic Terrorism that has resisted regular troops and regular SF for many years.

This incident is quite unfortunate, we need to go back and re-draw our tactics. The enemy is constantly evolving and he poses a serious security threat to all Africans, especially those of us in Kenya, Nigeria and Egypt.
When I called for an AU special forces brigade of say 5,000 men highly trained in a place like Belarus that has world class training facilities and experienced trainers who are professionals with experience of SF ops against Mujaheedin Islamic terrorists in Afghanistan Vs USSR war, most guys on this thread were against it.

Now see what El Shabbab is doing to regular African troops in Somalia, I saw this coming, that's why I advocated an AU special forces brigade with world class training. If we don't get better trained troops into the battle theater, the so called 'well trained African troops who need no foreign training' that make up the AU forces will spend 10 years in Somalia getting dribbled around by El Shabbab.

Get 2,500 COIN trained AU special forces to Somalia, rotate every 6 months with the other 2,500 SF men and see a difference. Not all SF can do this job, this is Islamic terrorism, you need COIN SF, not just any SF. The countries with COIN SF are very few, go get the training where it can be found, they are different from Conventional war SF that fight against a predictable, clearly clothed-uniformed identifiable enemy, clearly defined battle space frontlines, no suicide bombers, no religious extremist brainwashing, no mixing and disguising as civilians, no use of civilian human shields, etc.

When you try to advise for the good of Africa, some people here start marketing their own country in a selfish glory hunting expedition and claiming to have capable SF that can handle a new type of assymetric enemy, they dont care is AU is misled, as long as their country is glorified.

I just hope AU officers read this thread and pick up good advice when they see such coming from all over Africa on this Nairaland forum.

This is a plane, not even a mother can love.

What aircraft is this?

Although, I hear we could still order the A-29 Tucano (let us wait till the end of the year). We are about the faze out our Air bettles, the Alpha Jets would soon also be retired same as the L-39ZA.

Our 14 MB-339 have been converted to CD models, although they are still in Italy.
Insider info says Nigerian airforce new aircraft additions by Q4 2016 if all plans go well as scheduled will be :

10 Super Mushak 4th gen trainer and COIN
3 JF-17 Thunder 4th gen multi-role jets
14 MBB 339 jets 4th gen upgrade NAF owned, sent to Italy for upgrade.
xx Super Tucanos COIN
xx CH-4 armed drones, variant with 6 to 10 guided missiles per UAV
xx ISTAR aircraft superior to the ATR-42 Surveyor.

Time for NAF to even help Mali, Chad, Cameroon, Nigér Republiqué with surgical strikes when insurgents bases and training camps are found by local intelligence/recce. The West Afican Islamic terrorists seem to be avoiding Nigeria and migrating to weaker countries. ECOWAS must cooperate with Lake Chad basin countries, terrorism is everybody's problem.

You kïlled yõurself with the two warship photos you posted and your unintended confession that the guns are different ! You proved to the whole forum that you have been deliberately telling lies that SAN Valour corvettes have Super Rapid gun, when you know the whole world can clearly see the guns in ALL Valour patrol corvette photos ar old 1970s scrap yard repainted 76mm Compact gun.....even SAN official website clearly says they have NO single super rapid gun.

Lies do not pay, one day the truth will come out and disgrace chronic liars like you. You are towing the line of Patches, the guy is habitually lying his way to hell, he never reads a Bible to fear God one bit....keep following him to disaster, your doom not mine
