MikeZA: SAS Drakensberg.

Can support them, like they didn't when heading to Brazil.
Give us source to prove Valour frigates can be refuelled at sea by SAS Drakenberg and give us prove Valour frigates did not refuel in Brazil before returning home.

Soon Simons town navy base will be empty of warships with this your mis-adventure of patrolling the whole Gulf Of Guinea 12,000 km sea travel to and fro....your Submarine will soon hit sea bottom again grin grin

patches689: Distance between Lagos and Cape Town: 2955.28 miles

Valour Class range: 8,000 miles

We can sail to Lagos and back, and have 2000 miles to spare... with one tank of fuel

(((((BOOM))))))
Quote source to prove the range of Valour frigate and don't bring any fvcking edited misinformation South Africans put on Wikipedia, give us a military website.....

patches689: In the end of the day we are deploying to patrol your region

and you do not have the capacity to patrol ours
Bwhahaha grin

Nigerian navy has capacity to patrol the waters of both South Africa and Egypt at the same time.

In the whole of Africa, only the Nigerian navy has blue water warships that has the range sail completely around the whole continent if Africa without stopping anywhere to refuel, the two ships are NNS Thunder and NNS Okpabana. South African navy Valour frigates CANNOT match those two NN OPVs of Nigeria, SAN frigates will run dry of fuel in Gulf of Guinea and you will soon be begging Nigeria for help.

What you buffoons don't know is that your Valour frigates have fuel to only reach West Africa and return home WITHOUT DOING ANY CIRCULAR PATROL because if your shiny warships try that patrol, they will run out of diesel in Gulf of Guinea and start begging Nigeria for free 50 Litre jerry cans of diesel to go back home.

I am still waiting to see the miracle South African navy will use to patrol West Africa when NONE of her warships or submarines has enough range to travel to up west and return home south without begging for fuel along the journey.....Fake force projection in action....I am waiting for my time to laugh.....South African navy, come up to West Africa I dare you! Na area boys black jerry can we go take dash you fuel and we go put groundnut oil mix am, all ya ship engine go knock for wharf Tin Can at Apapa grin grin grin

MikeZA: UP!!! To the west coast!!!!!.

While Nigeria is still struggling with pirates and terrorists, when you're done securing your land and waters. SA will be sending new SA built OPVs,consolidating our leadership.
[size=13pt]

Nigerian army Struggling? Phone Hellfire ask 'Shekau' grin

Piracy, ask Angola how Nigeria saved her Greek ship while South Africa was too sluggard to realize it should have been patrolling it's SADC region.

USA/NATO/China used their super naval sea power to save Somalian waters from pirates, why did South Africa never move up there when it was terror days at sea? You avoided the hot zone for America and Europe to save.

Gulf of Guinea, why is South Africa just coming after Nigeria has received or ordered to almost receive 2 long range NNS Thunder class OPVs and 2 extended range NNS Centenary class stealth OPVs with the best sea search eagle sharp eye radar in the world, why did you wait for all this to happen?

Why did South Africa wait till Nigeria ordered 7 extra units of ATR-42 Surveyor to increase our super sea search fleet to 9 units of ATR-42 mighty ISR+MPA aircraft the most powerful anti-piracy fleet in Africa and makes NAF one of the best in the world for long range ocean security operations, why did you wait till now?

Why is South Africa just coming after Nigerian Navy launched and users new radar satellite that penetrates clouds to monitor the whole Gulf of Guinea and detect/track/intercept any pirates as we did to save Angola, why wait till Nigeria has spent almost $2 Billion to purchase and deploy sophisticated world class survellance and patrol equipment in the Gulf of Guinea before South African navy remembered that pirates are there?

Only one answer to all these 'Why's....

"Nigerian navy and NAF, we South African navy CANNOT do the hard job, since you have done the hard part, we just want to come and share a part of your glory, that is what we South Africans know how to do best."

Henry120: It's an amazing plane. I agree, it is the best fighter jet in the world. Stealth is over-rated.

It's range is mind-boggling, it's a very nice aircraft to acquire if you can afford it. These jets carried all their missions from france in Operation serval.

Exactly, it's an air-superiority fighter, an interceptor, a fighter bomber, a ground attack jet. It isn't mission specific like the Euro-fighter which is primarily an air-superiority.
Oga Henry, the market for the Rafale may be some Arab countries with oil money in an ISIS threat zone.

Great jet fighter, I love it.....but the market is limited, hope France gets a buyer

ActivateKruger: Gulf of Guinea we will park our shining ships.
Gulf of Guinea is NOT Nigeria, 350km from Lagos into the Atlantic ocean is what belongs to us.

If you are outside that Zone, we don't care, international maritime law gives the whole world the right to play around free ocean zones.

So, have fun with your scarce diesel fuel grin grin

Thiza: Why is that South African National Defence Force number is 15 Dead soldiers as opposed to the Seleka 's 50 Body bags......Maybe it would be wise to ask Seleka rebels about their number of fatalities.....if 15 is bigger than 800, then Seleka won the Battle of Banguie

You are photo-master of this forum, show us dead bodies of Seleka rebels, all the dead bodies we see are South Africans !

Thiza: BUT ATLEAST SANDF SOLDIERS NEVER RUN AWAY TO CAMERROON OR MUTINEED AND SHOT AT THE OFFICERS...CUREENTLY NIGERIA IS COURT MARSHALLING MORE THAN 20 SOLDIERS
SANDF ran away Bangui airport to beg France for military protection by French army.

NO SINGLE Nigerian soldier is being tried for running into Cameroon, they went on tactical maneuver trying to out-flank Boko Haram forces attacking from a different direction and they met Cameroonian army in the process, the law of international border crossing compels us to stop and hand over our weapons to Cameroon, we are NOT law breakers, Nigeria is law abiding according to international laws of war.

If those Nigerians were deserting, they too would have been facing trial by now. So your argument is thrash !

For the ones who are guilty, Court-Martial for mutiny or deserting is being done in Nigerian army now and the punishment is death sentence !

That proves what we have been saying that Nigerian army is one of the toughest in the world and we do NOT allow cowards, they will be shot by the Nigerian army itself, it is sad, but our army law says any Nigerian soldier who breaks our law of courage will be k.illed by our own army after trial and being found guilty.

This is the type of army South Africa will never have !

Nigerian army shoots it's own soldiers who offend, South Africa gives medals to her own misbehaving soldiers.

That is the big difference !

1. How many press were on the ground?

2. Those stats arent unheard of, 3 Para acheived simular in Afghanistan
3. We never begged the french for safe passage (something you have yet to prove)
[size=13pt]

"RFI’s special envoy in Bangui spoke to a source who says he was present at the French military base near Bangui where he saw more than 50 body bags being loaded onto a Hercules C130 aircraft sent by Pretoria. He said other bodies were arriving as the 50 were being loaded on to the plane.

The source wishes to remain anonymous.

General Arda Hakouma, who led the Seleka rebel coalition operation to capture Bangui, insists more South Africans were among the soldiers he killed.

“What is certain, I personally, Chief of Staff, chief of operations, so I am the one who directed the battle, I saw 36 South African dead and 22 wounded. That’s for sure, and there were prisoners too, we handed them over to Fomac [The regional African peacekeeping force for CAR]," he said.

Sources in the Central African Republic government and security sector told RFI’s Cyril Bensimon that the South African Soldiers are fighting to protect mining and oil contracts signed by South African companies with CAR president François Bozize."

patches689: Your artillery cannot engage moving targets

Alpha jets cannot effectivly engage the Valour Class

And its good to see that you admit that your navy can do nothing about it
NN coastal radar will pick up all ships 50km from our coast and give coordiantes to our army for artilley shelling.

Show me proof that in this world, artillery does not h.it moving targets....including a huge ship sitting like a duck on a wide open sea with no cover.

Alpha jets have cluster bombs, F-7 jets have 7km range rockets.

NN has Lynx ASW helicopters in reserve, they could torpedo your frigates from outside Umkhonto cover.

There are many ways yo sink a ship without missiles

patches689: Nope, that is Seleka's side of the story.
Story was written by SANDF and given to South Africa.

Seleka rebels General Hakouma said a different thing, he said they cut through SANDF defences and killed at least 50 soldiers.

Why should we dump his story and pick yours when the only dead bodies we see are ALL South African !

Go home and fool your kid-son !

.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by agaugust: 6:15pm On Sep 30, 2014
patches689: At about 10pm the force commander was informed that the Seleka commander wanted to discuss stopping the fighting.

After a quiet night, the base was again attacked at about 6.30am, but after about 30 minutes the Seleka commander telephoned to ask for a meeting, saying he had 2 000 troops with which to attack the base but would prefer not to. He approached the base holding a white handkerchief to identify himself, and met with the force commander at the gate. He said he had no orders to fight the South Africans and was happy to break off the engagement if they would not fire on his troops.

That is not only reflected in the fact that this small unit retained cohesion to the end of the action, but also in the casualties that it inflicted on its opponents: such casualties that it was the Seleka rebels who proposed a ceasefire and disengagement.

Their valour was underlined by the French force at Bangui airport when it held a formal parade to bid farewell to those who died.

Are you aware that CAR was a low interest conflict zone, No one cared about it until the SANDF got engaged. the foreign journalists don't even have pictures of the SANDF in a Bangui base, nor do they have pictures of the actual deployment.

Aguby you also know that there is no picture of dead SANDF in Bangui either.
There are photos and names of dead SANDF men killed by Seleka and I avoid posting it just to respect the dead.

@Andrewza claimed 1,000 Seleka men died, yet no local people or foreign media has a single photo of their dead body or even the wounded/injured alone.

Truth is minimum 15 SANDF died and zero Seleka died....until you show us any single verifiable photo of a few of the 1,000 Selekas.....Only South African soldiers died and the rest surrendered, begged for mercy, got safe permit to run to France at the airport, took next available flight to Pretoria..
