FighterPilot:
Agaugust I stand to correct you before you completely fall into the hole of ignorance. Seeing vehicles painted in UN colours does not necessarily mean that UN bought them. SANDF has thousands of equipments in Burundi, Congo and Sudan painted in UN colours but were not necessarily bought by UN.

Every contingent deploying under the banner of UN must ensure that their equipment is painted with UN colours and those cars you have shown were due to be deployed to with your police to Somalia or South Sudan. I know you have never been to the military or police, that's why ignorance will always take a better part of you.
mzilakazi:
UN does not buy equipments for combat forces, it procures vehicles mostly for civilian staff. All contingents deploy with own equipments which must be resprayed in UN colours. Definitely, Nigerian police procured proforce vehicles and use them for their deployment and now the whole thing confused agaugust. Lol!!!
Two fools on Monday morning....fools...UN buys armoured vehicles directly from Manufacturer and paint the UN colours...Fools of Soweto.

"ANKARA — Turkey’s leading armored vehicles manufacturer, Otokar, has said that it won a $24.6 million contract from the United Nations.

In a news release March 6, Otokar said the contract was for an unspecified number of the company’s Cobra vehicles. The UN will use the Cobras in peacekeeping operations, the company said."

Envy will choke you all to d..eath....Nigerian Proforce will soon snatch the market from DENEL like we did to your GDP grin grin

Simple answer will be, we are not discussing Algeria or Egypt.
This thread is title....strongest military in Africa, includes Algeria and Egypt or are they in Europe?

One 90mm or 105mm shot from a Rooikat and your poorly armored Igirigi scrap is dead.
Rooikat is only 76mm gun. One shot from a Nigerian 90mm gun Sagaie and your Mbombe or Rooikat are both dead

Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by agaugust: 5:10pm On Nov 23, 2015
patches689:
Mbombe has 30mm that is stabilized and uses advanced optics

It will shoot first

And it has a muuch better chance of hitting, it can also shoot on the move

Fyi - you just admitted Mbombe is better
How did I admit Mbombe is better? They are not same purpose vehicle, Igirigi is LAV, Mbombe is MRAP/IFV. Can't compare two unlike items.

Why will Mbombe shoot first? He has juju spiritual powers?

Igirigi will shoot first with 23 mm X 2 cannon and eat up the Mbombe.

Shoot on the move? Even Boko Haram shoots on the move with 23 mm cannon.

Thats a small unit based inter brigade competition - not brigade sized exercises

Did you even watch it before posting?

This is what brigade sized combined arms exercises look like

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fgL1mKjaZMk
Bwahahaha...Posting 30 year old video of Apartheid era SADF ....see Impala jets and Mirage jets, you now mixed it with a few tiny clips of your current inferior SANDF training of old people's infantry.....my own Nigerian video is current date year 2013 just 2 years ago.

LOL....fool, your SADF Brigade exercise video does not even have up to 100 troops in action.

The Nigerian video is INTER-BRIGADE exercise meaning many brigades combined, and that's why the exercise commander is a Major General GOC 2 division Nigerian army Ibadan city, not a Brigadier General. It was a bigger war game than a brigade.

It was actually FOUR BRIGADES combined training/war game, namely

32 Artillery Brigade Akure
22 Brigade Ilorin
2 Division Engineers Ibadan
4 Brigade Benin

Nigerian army used FOUR brigades combined in that single war game/exercise recently done 2013.

Sure I have shocked you and Mike.ZCAR with this revelation, you thought only SANDF trains in large numbers....ignorant fools grin grin

I have compared the videos and our exercises are not only more realistic, but more challenging
SANDF training is outdated 1970s war style of set pieces like two people playing lawn tennis, Serena Williams Vs Venus Williams .

With your poor battlefield tactics, even Kenyan army will thrash SANDF like they do to El-Shabab
.

Yes, we should rather have the helicopters shoot our men

I guess you missed the simulated battle in the first exercise

I have compared the videos and our exercises are not only more realistic, but more challenging

Fact
SANDF exercises are like women walking around a shopping mall, your soldiers hardly ever run, HIV sick army of Mandela grin grin

Nigerian troops will beat up the entire South African military without using weapons....SANDF troops are flabby like flip flop slippers grin grin

- 14 hour fight and 400 dead = with ease?
- seleka requested the cease fire
- yes, because it was not a combat deployment and they were deployed 3000km from RSA

Mbombe will any day beat Igirigi in any battle.

Mbombe was tested against live mines and 2portions of TNT explosives and it passed the tests. The poor Igitigi will fail.
Igirigi is NOT built as IFV or MRAP, it is LAV, the MBOMBE is an MRAP or IFV.

However if they meet in battle, whoever fires first will score hit, Igirigi twin 23 mm cannon will tear up an Mbombe MRAO !

Need I say more.

http://www.paramountgroup.biz/mbombe.html
Nothing special in MBOMBE, like any other product, it's just an MRAP or IFV depending on configuration....or does it carry nuclear weapons?

C.A.R was not intended to be a combat deployment
You should have sent policemen there then.

SANDF mandate was to protect lives and property, how will they do that, use sticks and stones?

Land Cruiser is used for border controll - not combat

You use soft-skinned vehicals for combat!!
SANDF all round exposed open body Gecko and Hornet are as weak as soft skinned vehicles when bullets begin to fly in combat

So you are saying that you will never have to attack an enemy position where they will stand an fight?

How were these tactics so successfull in Angola and why wont they work now?

Augutus, you need to come down to reality: Russians/Cubans are not training us in tactics and doctrine - it is NIGERIAN SOLDIERS being trained by South Africans and Russians in tactics and doctrine, you are the dummies you clown!

Stop posting tactical small unit training - and yes we can match your level, and much more advanced!

See useless video, SAAF helicopter firing machine guns into empty bush grin grin

Special units in bush operations with civilian journalists playing and laughing with them on camera grin grin

Foolish SANDF training, they cannot even use empty hands to snatch rifle from an enemy like a Kung Fu warrior

No wonder tiny Island of Cuba is now training you weak-sick-chicken hearted SANDF rookies

Compare this videos of Nigerian training involving many thousands of soldiers at the same time

- I'm not a fan of the mini-gun. It's just 5 minutes of pure excitement and that's it.
I pray you will never be in a situation where you will need a minigun to stay alive sir grin grin

Battle of Mogadishu, one US Army Helo with minigun took out a whole platoon of Somali rebels on a roof top. When the enemy is too many, minigun gives you firepower to kill within a very short time before the enemy reacts. The Aidid rebels had many heavy machine guns and RPG on that roof top to take down the US Helicopter but the minigun rapid fire deleted all of them in 30 seconds and they had no time to aim thier AAA guns and RPG at the attacking helicopter.

Failure of mortar to stop massive waves of vietnamese soldiers in that war, is part of the reason MiniGun was modernized and brought to vietnam. It's effectiveness made Britain, France, Germany, Russia, China, Japan, India to copy it and build at home, or buy from USA.

A whole one third of world armies use MiniGuns, so Nigeria should not be left behind.
