The F-35 Can't Beat The Plane It's Replacing In A Dogfight: Report

We’ve heard of significant shortcomings before with the fighter jet that’s supposed to be America’s future, but this is just as bad as it gets. The F-35 performed so dismally in a dogfight, that the test pilot remarked that the it had pretty much no place fighting other aircraft within visual range.

F-35 Can't Carry Its Most Versatile Weapon Until At Least 2022

And it’s even worse than a mere maneuverability issue. At one point, the pilot’s helmet was so big he couldn’t even turn his head inside the cockpit.

The test pilot flying the F-35 makes it very clear that the new jet, even in its ideal configuration without any external stores, was no match against a Block-40 F-16C in a less-than-ideal configuration with a pair of under-wing fuel tanks:

Mmmmmm !!!

Jet fighters won't win air battles just because they are expensive and made in USA or EU !

Air force pilots have always warned about visual range combat where everybody dies at the same rate. F-7 will k.ill Gripen and vice versa.

Food for thought.

I will be willing to pay $35 million for a JF-17 Thunder block III and still win my air wars

Nice video there, really great.

The JF-17 will eventually take the major market away from all these over-priced American-European jets.

That looks like JF-17 Thunder block I video. http://playit.pk/watch?v=ZthdDd1Qj6A

Block III will be a block buster by 2017-2018 when it arrives with it's new design, new angine, new avionics and 4+ generation stuff !

Foreign AffairsRe: African Militaries/ Security Services Strictly Photos Only And Videos Thread by agaugust:
.
The original purpose of this photo thread is to promote African military and security forces and prove to the world that we are not the incapable continent that the rest of the world think we are in military performance.

When the Boko Harm-Chibok girls kidnap happened in 2014, America and Europe insisted that Nigerian military needs their air forces to help Nigeria find the girls, but Nigeria replied that we may be blacks, but here in Africa we have air force technology equal to the best in NATO air forces and makes NAF aircraft equally capable as USAF/RAF in doing world class ISTAR operations to find the Chibok girls anywhere they may be hidden in Nigeria.

The western powers deliberately and fraudulently insisted Nigeria has no such capability and we were accused of nonchalant attitude to the kidnap saga, even small NATO countries that have no armed drones and ISTAR aircraft in the class of Nigeria, were boasting that they can help Nigeria with the equipment they themselves do not even have.

Heavy pressure of global politically motivated #BringBackOurGirls campain forced Nigeria to accept 'foreign help' in the ISTAR operations.

It became a drama to prove who is superior between USAF Predator drones/UAVs, RAF Sentinel R1 aircraft (reputed as the world's best ISTAR platform), and NAF ATR-42 Surveyor.

At different times, each air force carried out the search for as long as they wanted, they all achieved the same result. Nobody's ISTAR technology proved superior to the others. USAF, RAF, NAF all got same results, Chibok girls not found.

This thread showcases African military at their best of capabilities in photos, with some little details of information attached to explain the photos if necessary.

In line with the standard rule/format of this forum/thread, I posted the NAF ATR-42 Surveyor ISTAR aircraft as an African pride, with highlights of it's awesome world class capabilities attached to it, I have no need of posting any proof of the data that is already freely available all over the internet, I have no need to promote Italian manufacturers technical data/specs sheet, we are not here to do marketing for any private company.

The four people here, who stood up against my post on ATR-42 should be ashamed that they reacted in that offensive manner to an African pride of a platform, if I had said the ATR-42 Surveyor aircraft with that long list of capabilities belongs to Japan, those four people will not question it.

Well, I will clear the air for the world to see. Here are manufacturers official technical data sheets for the NAF ATR-42 Surveyor, it's Gabbiano T200 radar has 407 km range or 220 NM and has air to sea, air to land/ground, air to air radar modes, 360 degree radar view, 200 targets multiple simultaneous scan/tracking, it is built for primary MPA/ISTAR and secondary AWACS role. Anyone with further personal problems with NAF ATR-42 surveyor capabilities can go do personal research at home and stop disturbing the peaceful flow on this photo thread.

Thank you all, long live Africa !

Federal Government of Nigeria should ban import of light armoured vehicles !

We have designed and advanced beyond the Igirigi level I think.

Our army is already meeting with Proforce, maybe FG should sign a joint venture.

It's time for Nigeria to build a real multi-role IFV with different versions for 30mm cannon, missile capability, thermal systems, laser hardware, targeting systems that can be purchased off the shelf from China/Ukraine.

Nigeria can build a $ 500,000 IFV locally and it will match a BTR-80 IFV variant.

NIGERIAN ARMY AVIATION WING: CHIEF OF ARMY STAFF CHARGES STUDENT PILOTS TO BE READY FOR ACTION.

WorldStage Newsonline
25 June 2015

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt. General Kenneth Minimah has charged Nigerian Army student pilots to be ready to work and live with troops wherever operational exigency demands without any thought of leaving their chosen line of flying combat helicopters.

According to a statement, the COAS gave the charge while addressing student pilots undergoing helicopter flying training at the International Helicopter Flying School, Enugu.
In his words “You should all be ready to at all times live and work with troops wherever operational exigency demands. You should also banish all thoughts of leaving your chosen line of flying combat helicopters. The Nigerian Army will not train you and afterwards allow you to branch out to other arms or services on flimsy excuses.”

Speaking during his assessment visit to the 10 Nigerian Army student officers at the School, the COAS stated that he was pleased to hear that the students were doing well and encouraged them to put in their utmost best in all written and practical aspects of the course to ensure their graduation. He informed the students that they will form the nucleus of the newly established Nigerian Army Aviation Wing.

The COAS further revealed that the Nigerian Army established its Aviation Wing to complement the Nigerian Air Force based on the experiences gathered fighting terrorists in the North Eastern region where gaps in air support leading to reverses brought to fore the need for combat helicopters to provide intimate support to troops. This means apart from support from the Nigerian Air Force, the Nigerian Army will have its own air support element that will always be with the ground troops and readily provide air support whenever required.

The COAS informed the students that the Army will ensure their accommodation, hangar and all necessary facilities are put in place before their graduation. He also expressed the resolve of the Nigerian Army in ensuring that the Service gets the issue of establishing the Army Aviation Wing right as opposed to several failed attempts in the past.

The COAS was accompanied by the General Officer Commanding 82 Division Major General Shehu Yusuf and the Chief of Staff to the COAS Brigadier General Solomon Udounwa. He was received by the Air Secretary Air Vice Marshal CN Chukwu, the Commander 305 Helicopter Group, Air Commodore I Yahaya and the Rector, International Helicopter Flying School, Group Captain Ayo Jolasinmi.
Nigeria becomes one of the few armies in the world with an aviation wing of army aircraft.

I think we might have bought the Eurocopter gunship for the army, but we only see them with NAF.

Also, NA may have inducted Gazelles and Hueys armed with pintle mount HMG.

The Eurocopters will be a force multiplier with rocket pods.

Some CH-3 armed missile drones should also be given to the army.

Congrats to Nigerian army, one of the most modern in Africa now !

Some Soweto iidiots say we are broke, yet we just opened a full airwing for our army with fleet of new helicopters ! ANC made Zulus foolz grin

PAF air force HQ NEVER declared reason of why pilot died to the public !

Who was there to ask the dead pilot questions about his parachute? Dead men don't talk.

If a pilot tries to save the aircraft and regain flight control, then waits too late to eject, or he is on a deliberate low altitude flight near ground, his chute will NEVER fully open when he is too close to the landing surface, and the JF-17 crash on a mountain means less distance to open his chute after ejection, he is already landing foot on the mountain !
