Yes mig 21 is a mig 21 regardles if the one has better avionics or not, is gripenA not a gripen because it has different avionics to the gripenC?
SAAB Gripen is SAAB Gripen, yes ! MiG-21 is MiG-21 if its name is still MiG-21.

.....but here, the names are still different, Chengdu F-7 is not same as Mikoyan MiG-21....topic is called logic, subject is mathematics, you are an intellectual failure by birth grin grin

OK so I'm guessing a new Toyota corolla is not a Toyota corolla because its a bit better than the previous model?
Technical road performance of analog 1980 Toyota corolla and computerized 2010 Toyota corolla, are they the same specs and capability ?

The product name Toyota, and the manufacturer's name Toyota Inc, are exactly the same.

Show us how manufacturer name Chengdu = Mikoyan Gurevich and how F-7 product name is same as MiG-21 name.....product names and manufacturers.....

Okay, first comment : F-7 = MiG-21

Second comment F-7 > MiG-21

@jln115, in mathematics (Which is a subject beyond the brain capacity of all 50 million South Africans) there is a topic called LOGIC.

See dude, if A = B, then A cannot be > B.

F-7 = MiG-21, so how is F-7 also > MiG-21 according to your own mathematics.

[size=20pt]You failed to provide name I.D. for the two cadet pilots posing with the ATAK gunships.

I provided a source to prove you wrong, your large group photo is a mix of both Ethiopian and Somali cadets, NOT only Somalis as you fraudulently claim every black cadet in Turkey is Somali....do you have their list of names and national I.D.s ? Fraudster !

I said I see likely West African cadet among those in the ATAK helicopter photo, and yes I gave a source to prove there are Gambian cadets in Turkey, Gambia is West African.

I gave a clear source that Nigeria has cadets training in Turkey, clean and clear proof !

Nobody claims to have a source to say NAF pilots are among the Nigerian cadets in Turkey.

However, we proved that contrary to your fraudulent claims, Gambia and Nigeria have cadets in Turkey.

Your "100% Somali cadet team" story is proved false information.

Please apologize to the entire forum and the Turkish guy on Nairaland you were insulting.

shorter landing distance.
The Gripen landing distance is with aid of a landing restraint drag chute, every jet gets shorter landing run with drag chutes, the JF-17 will do better if it deploys it's own landing drag cute

We don't fly MIGs.

The Gripen is an over-priced JF-17. This has been well proven.
JF-17 has higher combat altitude, will be shooting down the lower Gripen from top of the pilot's head.

Lower altitude is a bad bad disadvantage in air to air dog fight. The JF-17 flies much higher than Gripen

jln115:
Gripen is faster
Has better wing loading
Way better RCS
More hard points
Way more manoeuvrable
Much better software
Better HMD
Lower stall speed
Lower maintenance costs
Better radar
Better G force endurance.

And BTW carrying a nuclear warhead is not much different than carry an ordinary warhead.

Must I say more?
Yes, say more about the aspects where JF-17 beats Gripen which you are afraid to quote . Start with combat range.....then show us videos to compare maneuverability....

jln115:
Really massive shortfall? Need I remind you that NAF has less than half of that number of mig 21s.

And only 3 pilots to fly them!

And the Gripen beats the JF handsdown in basically every aspect.
Range? Weapons mix/options? Ground radar look down? Runway take off distance? Maneuverability? Altitude.....with JF-17 shooting down the Gripen from higher heights above the Gripen pilot's head? Thinking like a salon barber as usual....not surprising

Is it true that Mr Barlow ripped off all Nigeria's revenues at the treasury. Now I have heard on the news that the whole country is broke and will need far more than $50 billion to remain viable in doing its duties and providing services. No money to pay public servants and they are hoping to borrow from Dangote and others. Africa's largest economy has now reduced to the size of Zimbabwe and Somalia. Damn!!!
Every oil exporting country is facing cash flow crisis all over the world, including Norway in Europe. Russia too is feeling it.

Nigeria still has cash dollar reserves of about $30 billion and a debt five times less than the heavy foreign debt of South Africa.

We still have a better net-cash flow than your country

The age will tell you a lot about the experience of pilots. Normally pupil pilots in SAAF are between 18-22 or 25 when you already have a flying licence from private flying schools.
Which experience? SAAF pilots have ZERO combat experience with Gripen and Hawk jets.....and the ancient pilots of 1980s Angolan war that were defeated by Cuban teenage pilots have retired or ran away to Australia

Continued...

Pic 1: This pilot flew a solo display at AAD 2014. That's where this pic is from.He is not a navigator and not even Liberia's Air Force will let a "trainee/unqualified" pilot do high G manuevers over a crowd of 50 000 people.

Pic 2: Like i said this pic came from Christo Crous, an official photographer IN the SAAF. It was titled "2 Squadron pilots" and was taken just before the 2009 Inaugural flypast. Pilot in the middle (black guy) is Commander of 2 Squadron. Experienced fighter pilot, not navigator.

That brings us to 9 pilots. Now...ALL the other people in the 2nd pic will have to be navigators if you are right. During the 2009 flypast only the black pilot flew, and the rest of them were clinging on to the outside of the Gripen? Was it a "1 jet" flypast?

What does your common sense tell you about the rest of those men in pic 2? All navigators? Or basic trainees who barely know how to fly in a straight line?

Keep in mind many Gripen pilots were transferred from the Cheetah program. So tell us...the rest of the people in pic 2 are not Gripen pilots?
How does taking photographs make a pilot combat qualified? Even Jacob Zuma can pose for fun photo wearing pilots suit.

Is a photograph equal to standard flying hours per year? E-fool.

Dude, SAAF has ONLY 9 Gripen pilots and NONE of them is combat qualified without standard 150 hours flight per year, it's a pity you have not got a source to prove otherwise....your bad luck not ours

Green uniform = land forces cadet
blue uniform = airforces cadet

Gripen has way way way lower wing loading than your Junk Fighter, also throw in the fact that the Gripen has moveable canards makes it not only more maneuverable than your JF but also more maneuverable than almost any fighter on the market.
Video evidence shows the JF-17 Block I beats the Gripen Block II in combat maneuverability, even when the Gripen video is that flown by the best Swedish pilots.

Then the JF-17 has a higher flight altitude than the weaker Gripen, so when they both waste each others missiles with countermeasures, it becomes a gun battle and the JF-17 flying above the Gripen will gun down your overpriced jet by pumping cannon shells directly into the Gripen canopy into the pilots coconut head.

End of a wasteful $68 million expenditure, Swedish rip off !

MYTH OF 9 SAAF GRIPEN PILOTS SMASHED

Pic 1 - Gripen pilots who took part in Presidential Inauguration flypast 2009. Pic by SAAF photographer Christo Crous titled "2 Squadron Gripen pilots". Taken from his facebook page.

Pics 2,3,4 - More Gripen pilots who ALL took part in Exercise Lion Effort 2012
Pilots walking on the ground is not same as pilots flying in the air, does your Gripen operate on the floor where those men are walking?

2012 is three years ago, your pilots have lost their combat qualification, they need 150 hours flight each per year, they get just about 12 hours each.....TOTALLY DISQUALIFIED from combat.....SAAF Gripens will fall to even Ugandan air force Su-30 Flankers !

BTWN.....99% of your combat pilots for Gripen are white, and some old men whites ready to retire....Soweto Black Mutant brains CANNOT fly a 4th Generation jet fighter......same story we hear about your Valour frigate and Submarines, one set of crews for each vessel, 1 Frigate 1 Sub is all SAN can deploy to war.

MYTH OF 9 SAAF GRIPEN PILOTS SMASHED - PART 2

Pic 1 - Blokkies "Cobra" Joubert. Test and operational pilot

Pic 2 - Another Gripen pilot. Did a solo display at AAD 2014.

That is a total of 15 Gripen pilots purely from pics

Ball is now in Nigeria's court. Show us (with proof) which of these pilots no longer fly for the SAAF. You were brave enough to say 18 aircrew = 9 pilots. So be brave again, show us which of these pilots no longer fly, giving you a total of 9 pilots.
Photograph does not make a pilot combat qualified, how many hours does he fly/train in a year?

saengine:
5 current Gripen pilots can be seen (sitting on the ground) in 2009 when they were still Hawk pilots (note the different flight suites between Gripen and Hawk). The pilot sitting on the far left/front was in the process of converting from Hawk to Gripen but was killed in a motorbike accident.

Again...ball is in Nigeria's court. #showusyourproof
Your photo of 2009 is six years ago ! LOL ! Hilarious, combat pilots need yearly qualifications, so show us proof that you have 9 Gripen pilots that have done 150 flight hours each in 2014. Your pilots are NOT combat qualified in SAAF Gripen fleet, they can only take off and land or do air shows for Mandela's funeral.

Lucky you did not confront Sudan, MiG-29 would have shot down your inexperienced and unqualified Gripen pilots with Sudan's BVR missiles
