Bwahaha… stop making a mockery of yourself. Nigeria produces a mere 3000 MW of power which cannot even last for 24 hours and generators do not add anything to the grid.
You think 3,000 MW will power the massive oil industry, talk less of manufacturing and residential homes?

The 3,000 MW people quote is federal government generation alone.

Another power production sector is called IPP, independent power producers, there are several private companies NOT federal government, and they produce more power than the government.

Nigerian oil companies have private power generation companies called IPP

State governments also have state owned power generation companies, also under IPP.

http://businessdayonline.com/2014/07/nigerias-ipp-scene-picking-up-on-back-of-power-sector-reforms/

Twenty new IPP companies were licensed in 2011 because of the success of existing ones.

http://www.vanguardngr.com/2011/12/fg-issues-20-licences-to-ipps/

You seem to become more and more ignorant about Nigeria as we educate you, the more we teach, the less you understand, typical Bantu.

Nigeria as a whole is in the region of about 10,000 MW power generation from dozens of federal, states, and private power companies.

That's fresh education for you at no cost, mumu grin

We don't import weapons to a large scale, we develop our own. Nigeria is the master in that category.
Mandela nation spent almost $ 10 Billion weapons importation contract 1997-2007 to import from Europe/America 50 jet fighters, 30 helicopters, 4 warships, 3 submarines, 600 guided missiles and bombs, 400 military vehicle and aircraft engines for South African armed forces.

If the above is not a large scale, I wonder if you know the meaning of scale.....illiterate Bantu man

Shifting the goal post. Engine is one thing, MRAPS is another.
Just showing you how less important a V-hull is, you think shaping a metal makes you a genius? grin
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by agaugust: 10:59pm On Jul 02, 2015
mzilakazi:
Nope, we invented the v-hull to work against the impact of mines. The world was scared of mines until they saw South Africans using so cslled simple physics to overcome the impact of the blast.
V-hull is NOT the main strength of MRAP, the real protection is the extra amour under the vehicle chassis. Who invented steel armour? You?
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by agaugust: 10:56pm On Jul 02, 2015
mzilakazi:
Bwahahaha… who brought up that simple physics to work against mines? Nobody but South Africans.
Who brought up complex physics to build the engine of your MRAP ? Nobody but Europeans.

Your V-shape hull is useless without vehicle engine imported from Europe grin grin

If it was common sense then i guess South Africans have the most common sense of all!! Seeing that we were the first to use V shaped hulls.
You were the first to suffer from mines on a large scale. First victim, does not mean most intelligent, why did South Africa not invent vehicle engine before the rest of the world if you are the smartest brains?

SA builts automobile engines under licence from European companies. Nigeria import them as a whole.

SA contributed immensely on Gripens. They changed the whole face and look of Centurion tanks and Lynx helicopters and made them legally to be their products. Olifant tank is no longer a centurion tank. It might have started as centurion but it is no longer a centurion and does not use centurion spare parts at all. The olifant tank can now only be maintained by SA and nobody else[/s]
Stop bragging about weapons you imported from Europe, it's not your domestic manufacture.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by agaugust: 10:47pm On Jul 02, 2015
jln115:
Actually if a MRAP has a V shaped hull then its essentially based on the Caspir.
Nope, it's all based on common sense of simple physics, an exploding mine under a vehicle will be forced to blast into the air and less under the vehicle by the V-hull/chasis shape. that's basic human common sense of physics, or you see copyright for that anywhere?

Can anybody claim copyright for the V shaped hull of speed boats?

Its an MPA, according to the manufacturer.
Some kinds damn deadly MPA with ISTAR and AWACS capabilities all combined into one aircraft.....NAF ATR-42.

patches689:
Your ATR has the abilitiy to detect - but what ability does it have to analyze emissions ? What COMINT abilities does it have?
ELINT, not COMINT, that's what it majors on, ELINT. Does ELINT exist in SANDF ? No !

Analyze emissions detected? Easy job for ATR-42....

"ATR-42 ELECTRONIC SUPPORT MEASURES (ESM)
Functions
■ Detection of long range radar targets
during night and in adverse weather
conditions, even in dense signal
environment
■ Recording data and loading libraries
on intercepted radar
Capabilities
■ Radar emissions detection in a dense
electromagnetic environment (2-18
Ghz)

■ Radar emissions analysis,
identification and location

■ Tracking on multiple emissions
simultaneously
■ High degree of flexibility to meet the evolution radar of the environment"

http://www.atraircraft.com/datas/download_center/38/atr_42_surveyor_2004_38.pdf

Patrick Patches, leave this NAF ATR-42 Surveyor random arguments, you have lost the battle completely !

NAF ATR-42 is MPA + ISTAR + ESM + ELINT + AWACS.....multi-purpose aircraft equal to the best in USA and EU !

OMG - you really think that pathetic list of low tech license produced cr@p compares to what we make?

bwa-ahahahahahahahahahaha

So... how does that change the fact that we build weapons? Did i say we build engines or did i say we build weapons?

South Africa is an arms giant, we are in the top 20 exporters in the world. And we are not a major importers - you improt everything, we import only a tiny minority of things

We have an utterly superior arms manufacturing industry, it is not only bigger but its is way more advanced, this is beyond debate

Go brag about home made AK47's to Togo grin grin
Go brag about your MRAP with European engine to Sudan grin grin

I proved that both SA and NIG are major arms importers.

When SA builds tanks, jets, frigates, come back and talk to us here.....your entire military runs on European imported hardware !

Augustus, you can apply loose definitions to anything and make anything anything

Example:
What is an egg? An egg is a hard thing that contains a nutritional liquid substance! Hence a coca-cola is an egg!

No! An egg is a hard circular/dome shaped thing that contains a nutritional liquid substance! Hence a rotten Watermelon is an egg!

An egg is an egg because we have applied a specific name to a specific thing with very specific characteristics, and according to the manufacturer the ATR42 is an MPA platform.
ATR-42 has full ESM capabilities, and ESM is linked to ELINT, they are the same thing....

"There are two basic types of ESM :

ELectronic INTelligence (ELINT)
ELectronic INTelligence primarily dedicated to the interception and analysis of radar emissions from surveillance radars.

COMmunications INTelligence (COMINT)
COMmunications INTelligence, as its name implies, is intended for the interception of communications, whether by voice or datalink."

http://www.radartutorial.eu/16.eccm/ja06.en.html

I forced you to sit down in a Nigerian classroom again today.....ESM = ELINT and NAF ATR-42 has both !

And we build Rooikats, Badger IFV's, G6, Ratles, Ingwe, A-darter, Mokopa, radar, comms, datalinks, all ammunition types, GPMG's, AGL's, autocannons, drones, optics, mortars, MRAP's and attack helicopters

Importation of components does not mean that we do not build a thing, dont be an dolt!

And yes, we import some things - as apposed to Nigeria whom imports 99.9% of things!!
Nigeria too builds LAV, APC, RPG, NVG, LMG, HMG, rifles, mortars, drones, robots, all types of ammunition, rocket pods, etc.

If SANDF does not import aircraft, vehicle, ships, etc.....how will you mount or install your home made hardware on them ?

Plus you don't make any engines for anything, if you lose a vehicle in battle, you need to import new engine from Europe to build replacement.

South Africa is NOT the arms manufacturing giant you think it is. You are a major arms importer like other African nations shocked shocked
.

Do we build Rooikats, Badger IFV's, G6, Ratles, Ingwe, A-darter, Mokopa, radar, comms, datalinks, all ammunition types, GPMG's, AGL's, autocannons, drones, optics, mortars, MRAP's and attack helicopters or not?
Do you build the engines for your vehicles and helicopter? No ! You import from Europe.

Do you build Gripen, Lynx helicopter, Centurion tank, C-130 Hercules, Hawk, Valour frigate, Type 209 submarine ? No !
.

Its not an ISTAR platform, it has no ELINT capabilities and you most certainly are not getting 9 of them
LOL.....it does intelligence, surveillance, targeting and recconnaisance, proved from all the manufacturers specs sheets.

What do you think multiple data analysis computers, ESM, radars, FLIR, long range Tv do ? Commercial photography and Hollywood movies ?

ELINT is derived from ESM and linked to SATCOM.....fool :

"There is far less distinction between ESM and ELINT."

South Africa does NOT manufacture major war weapons.

Meanwhile. your half literate coloureds and blacks should thank your European masters for transfer of arms building technology to their fellow white brothers who are the minority that control majority in South Africa.

Most Gripens don't ever fly, Sweden has about 50 in storage, South Africa has 12 in storage. Others Gripens sit on the ground dormant.

The Gripens that dare to fly are the ones crashing like house fly sprayed with Baygon insecticide

$ 68 million aircraft crashing twice in 21 days this current dates June and May 2015

$ 15 million aircraft crashing once in 13 years and last time was 2011

Take that African pride rubbish and tell it to the Chibok girls.

Those capabilities are not those of your ATR42, not only that but your "source" discusses the capabilities of multiple different radar sets. ATR42 is a simple MPA platform, not ISTAR, not ELINT and most certainly not AWAC

And your ATR42 is the same as the Italian version
http://www.defense-aerospace.com/article-view/release/83981/nigeria-orders-two-atr42s-for-maritime-patrol.html

with a search range of 330km
http://www.casr.ca/id-fwsar-italy-2.htm

Whilst its roles are: Maritime Patrol (surveilance) and pollution detection. With ISAR mentioned only vaguely as is the detection of radar emissions (most fighter jets can also do this) - no mention of ISTAR, no mention of ELINT, no mention of AWAC
