PoliticsRe: Why Only Ogun State? by AgentOfAllah: 6:48am On Apr 06, 2015
Muyogoa:
Have you ever observed that many top and succesful politicians, leaders, singers, professionals are mostly from Ogun state? Out of about 6 states in the south western part of Nigeria, only people from Ogun state can be considered the most outstanding in many ramnification.
The only Yoruba president in Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo is from Ogun state, great people and heroes and heroine also emerged from this state. The likes of Obafemi Awolowo, late MkO Abiola, the first woman to drive a car, late Funmilayo ramson-kuti, the nobel prof. Wole Soyinka, former head of states,Ernest Sonekan, Mike Adenuga, late Fela kuti, late Tai Solarin, Ebenezer obey, Osewa Seun, the former military vice president, Dipo Diya and so many others are all from this great state. Also, some years back an indigene of Osun state emerged as the speaker of the house of representative but within a short time she was impeached and over taken by another Ogun state indigene, Hon Dimeji Bankole. Recently again during this Era of change, another great professor from Ogun state, also emerged as the vice president elect of this great country. The question is why Ogun state? Some said Ogun state people may be enjoying the benefits of their fore fathers for being the first to accept christianity in Nigeria which probably make God pleased with them, thus passing blessing to their offsprings. This is just an assumption anyway, but sincerely why are Ogun state Indigenes more outstanding among all other Yoruba states ?
Op, I want you to reflect upon the following epigram thoroughly: Only people bereft of any personal glory to call theirs latch onto the glory of other individuals as the glory of their perceived group. In common parlance, we call that mediocrity.
The family, village, town, state, country, or continent from which you come is merely an accident of birth, and every intelligent person knows this. So it is never a matter of what people from your state have achieved, but what you, personally, have achieved for your own self.
No! Ogun people aren't any more special than Imo people, or people from Niger, Ekiti, Delta, Edo, Jigawa, Taraba or Ebonyi. Get over yourself

Jonathan was born in riverside area. Catching fish.

4)PERSONALITY

his attitude was that of a servant
patient.

Jonathan had compassion for terrorist.extending amnesty to those ruining his governmen.he patiently hoped they would stop.speaks gently like a servant

A situation where emirs become PVC vendors.......capturing bio data from unsuspected under age at night and using government agencies to print PVC in million and lining them out in our very eyes to vote during the just concluded election
1) You're a rather atrocious liar whose only IT acumen is Nairaland. INECs database is offline, so no matter how many biometric data was allegedly captured by emirs as you claim, it would still have been impossible to use fake PVCs. First that data would have to be uploaded to INECs database in situ. Unless you can show how it was possible that these so-called emirs accessed INECs database in Abuja (remember the names and faces had to be printed on the manual voters register which was only supplied one or two days before elections commenced), you're making crap up!

2) Those pictures you posted, with the exception of the one with the boy thumbing the PVC, are all old pictures which surfaced in 2011. The whole point of the PVCs was to mitigate such irregularities, and it largely worked and you certainly weren't the one that took them op!

Cc: seun lalasticlala obinoscopy
Those of you telling Igbos to vote for APC because it is at the centre are beginning to sound eerily like PDP. Since you are suffering from selective amnesia, allow me to remind you why the APC became a formidable opposition:
Tinubu and Lagosians refused to sacrifice their political convictions on the alter of central validations and approvals. Learn a thing or two from that.

Nigeria still needs PDP, now, more than ever. Nigeria needs a strong opposition to put the APCs on their toes and if that opposition comes from the Ibo block, so be it! I personally cannot wait for a culturally Ibo but truly pan Nigerian lady or gentleman to become Nigeria's president. Ibos must protect their political convictions against this onslaught from short-sighted strategists. APGA could have been a formidable block, but sold out to the PDP and has been usurped accordingly. Now, the spirit of APGA can still survive in the PDP. But keep your political relevance intact and follow your hearts

i want to draw the attention of all concerned to the new trend of APC and its supporters across the nation.

This idea of carrying coffin about town with the inscription of PDP on it is childish and should be condemned by the national body of APC.

PDP is like a wounded lion and getting them further angered may not end well. what is the basis of that coffin, what is the benefit and who are the brains behind it.

its ongoing in Rivers now, it has been done in Osogbo and others states.

the governorship election is yet to hold and believe me, its not over yet until Buharis court case is ruled on and hand over completely done.

Dont let PDP give arms to the youth just to ensure they hold onto the states since they losed aso rock, it is possible.

dont turn this election to winner takes it all.

I am sure you are finally convinced that we are truly born to rule and are the prinicipal kingmakers in this country. Arewa will never again make the mistake of trusting a minority with power, our allies in the west will ensure this never happens. General Buhari will be encouraged to crush any uprisiing in the Delta with brute force that will make Odi look like childs play. As for any secession ideas you ever have in order to escape our domination, just remember the President-elect is a veteran in the campaigns of 1966. The world has seen the ibos and southern minorities for what ingrates they are (with the rivers crisis, enugu bombs and final shame by orubebe) and we have global support to deal with our spoils of war thats if they still think they have a say, especially in the re-allocation of oil blocs in 2017 cool.

PoliticsRe: Aisha buhari, marriage and the politics of equivocation With Eaglechild by AgentOfAllah(op): 10:45am On Mar 27, 2015
One more question for eaglechild. Would you say there is any significant biological disparity between a 19 year old lady (a teenager) and herself 12 months after her 19th birthday?
PoliticsAisha buhari, marriage and the politics of equivocation With Eaglechild by AgentOfAllah(op):
Eaglechild, I like to engage you because you remained civil in a rather unfortunate thread that brought out the worst in many people. I start this new thread, hoping we will be civil about our obviously different takes on the very important topic of "teenage marriage". I hope in the end, one of us will be able to convince the other of their position...Of course, I think that one is me, but I'm open to being wrong.

Forgive me for removing parts of your comment I consider irrelevant to this discourse. Your point may be approximated by the following quote:
Please i need to know, is it mandatory for Muslims to be married before a certain age eg 18 years?

If so, then it is a believe system.

If not then the issue here is worth a civil discuss.

There is a direct link between age at first marriage for females and the economy. Cultural practices and religion of course play a strong role.

The question here is, should teenage marriage be encouraged?
As for your first question, there is nothing that mandates Muslims to marry before/after a certain age. Judging from historical antecedents though, one can safely assume that there is nothing wrong, Islamically, to marry a child as young as 9. Nevertheless, religion is largely outdated in this regard, so I hope we may avoid religious or emotional colouration in our arguments, whatever becomes of this thread.

Belief notwithstanding, the age of marriage is of importance to the public because it touches upon a lot of important indices of civility, not least, the health of the female child. I think it is safe to say that women are the pillars and pivot of any thriving civilisation.

You asked if teenage marriage should be encouraged. I want you to clarify something first. Are you using "teenage" here as a synonym for "child", or in its literal sense of the age range 13-19? If your answer is the latter, might you clarify if one can be both a teenager and an adult? If your answer is in the affirmative, then I wish to ask you a question.

Should adult marriage be encouraged?
