This is very funny: when you finished typing this post above, did an 'alarm bell go off somewhere or not'? When you said "sometimes I FEEL Christianity is only about acceptance of Christ"; that is God speaking to you about the truth. But when you now said "that's were you (i.e Babyosisi) missed the point"; now that is Belloti using his own mind to discern a spiritual truth or rebellion against truth.
Christianity is not a system of doctrine but a rule of life in Jesus Christ!!, kapish? That is the foundation upon which "everthing else" will now be based. The "everything else" you mentioned are the products of your saving faith in Christ i.e [b]genuine saving faith produces good works[/b]e.g few are listed above by Davidylan's last paragraph above. A good tree will always bear good fruits; and a bad tree bad fruits. If the "everything else" is not based on the teachings, life and purpose of Christ 'in the life of a believer', then it can actually go to hell indeed. How do you mean she missed 'the point' about the Lord that you only "know about" but you do not "KNOW" personally?

Response 1: Seriously, you should consider taking up 'poetry' writing; you will be good at it. Now, the whole right-thinking world has already declared war on the ideology of Islamic fascism; there is no turning back because their is only one option-Victory is assured. This is not about me, it is about ideology of peace, freedom, progress versus ideology of hate and oppresion. Islam has always been viewed with negative eye because it is negative from the beginning. That is why millions are leaving and rejecting the 'religion' in droves around the world even in Arab countries hence the resort to intimidation and threat for 'apostates' by islamic authorities. But truth cannot be hidden. The voice of Islam is in retreat and it will always be by the grace of God, Amen.

It is not enough for you to say "muslims are being viewed with negative eyes in the world now", you should wonder why, in truth to yourself, and it will be obvious to you.

(3) Thirdly, many of us Christians believe, and rightly so, that the Caliphate will happen because he is the anti-christ but the anti-christ has no hold on those whose Lord and Savious is Jesus Christ because we will not be under his rulership. Maybe you should write out the characteristics of the Caliphate from the Quran; and then read about the Anti-Christ in the book of Revelations and the epistles of John, then you can compare and contrast. The similarities will surprise you.

Until the ideology of hate/Islamic fascism is removed or changed, it will be dangerous to relax. Europe has woken up to its' past mistakes which allowed islamic extremists to take root and they are being 'rooted up' all over now.
Just this morning, a young and brilliant Christian Lebanese politician, Pierre Gamayel, was killed in Beirut, making him the fourth anti-Syrian politician to be killed recently. This is the handiwork of islamic extremists Hezbollah who want to bring down a democratically elected government in Lebanon so as to declare an Islamic state in a secular country; and have you heard any Islamic nation or Islamic leaders condemn Hizbolla's attempt? No!!. You might think that is not your business but let me paint the picture for you: The plan is to topple the government of Lebanon and thus surround Israel on all sides by hostile Islamic nations; drive out United Nations bases and troops in Lebanon; provide a fertile ground for breeding radical extremist who will be a threat to you whereever you are; further continue their indoctrination of hate against Europe and America.  All their muhammed-prescribed 'triumphantism' plans are known and being confronted, that is why they are crying 'victimisation' when they are the subtle aggressors. My dear, we are living in dangerous times now, but we know that their ideology of hate and subtle 'triumphantism' will be defeated as it was defeated before. Well, I am as real as real can be. After objective illustrations have been produced about the changing of 'sentences and words' in the Quran; after the evaluation of the dead sea scrolls have confirmed the stupidity of the claims of error in the bible; now that we know muhammed is an illitrate who received inspiration in a cave with no witness, I wonder how he can read the 'Taurat' to claim errors are in it; continuing on engaging in discussion of 'errors' is irrelevant.
However, regardless of what you say about the bible, the theme and purpose of the "written" 'word of God' (i.e Bible) from Genesis to Revelation, is the "living" Word of God i.e. Jesus Christ and his offer of redemption to mankind respectively.
Focus on this with wisdom and be saved. In 1st Corinthians 2 vs 14, the Lord said to us through his apostle that: "But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned."

We might belong to different faith but our coming together on nairaland is a symbol of our internal harmony. You and very many like you always hit so hard on Islam and muslims. She is an American citizen, an Arab Christian of Lebanese origin; read her story of how Lebanese muslims killed and maimed Lebanese christians during the uprisings aginst Israel. Lebanese Christians erroneously believed "we are all Lebanese" fighting against Israel, but were made to understand they are 'kafir' of 'infidels' alike. She was nearly killed as a child in Lebanon by Lebanese muslims who shelled Christian settlements and attack Israel from there knowing that Israel will then attack the christian settlements in retaliation just as Hizbollah did in the last uprising too. This is what I said about your writing: it is almost impossible to get a consistent 'theme' of whatever you are really saying. You started off with stories of African Americans who became muslims, then veered off to Cyprian Ekwensi and I think you asked me for scriptural backing--so what is the purpose of John 1 vs 1-18 I referred you to and beautifully posted in 3 versions by Babyosisi? That provided an infallible backing for that submission in all it's glory. Then again, you took a detour to Kabba and hunting and hunted animals plus a 'pure water' called Zamzam water. That is why I always list your statements in quotes to respond to them differently. However, multi-thematic writings as such usually leads to offtopic discussions in most cases; but I know that different personality have different writing styles. Your writing in 'poetry' style is probably influenced by reading of the quran which also has such dominant 'poetry' structure. 

I don't have a computer chip or memorex in my head. I read the word of God to have a personal relationship with God, understand his ways and live my life according to his principles with His grace, mercies and help. You see, God is not a respecter of titles or riches or positions or power; but He respects and honours principles and commitment. The Lord told us in Matthew 4:4 that: 'Man must not LIVE by bread alone but by EVERY word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God." We also know that the words of God ",,,,,they are spirit, and they are life" (John 5:63). The Bible is not a list of do's and don't's or stories concoted in a cave, it is the philosophy of living a victorious life from God's point of view: there is nothing that has happened, is happening, or will happen in human life that has not been revealed in the Bible, but it takes the Spirit of God to unravel it to a discerning mind. This why I let you have scriptural backing for almost every sentence or statement, so you can know the wisdom is not mine, but from the living God. And I always encourage others to do so. He is A LIVING GOD!!!

Brilliant article; it further supports what we said of the 'claim' of corruption yet no tangible evidence of textual corruption. And we know that for muhammed to reach out to jews and christians to support his new or another "monotheism with compromise" ideology, he needs to convince them against the bible and importantly the crucifixion. Since he failed because the quran or the ideology of Islam could not stand 'spiritual discernment', he then resorted to the spread of the ideology by 'triumphantism' i.e convert or be killed.
Now, since 'triumphantism' is no longer possible, the "corruption" mantra is being used to deny the crucifixion of Jesus christ by the Ustahs/Sheiks/Mullahs in the various masjids; simply to hide the knowledge of the free gift of salvation from muslims. This is why we need to shout more and loud and clear the doctrine mercy and grace of God through Jesus Christ, the propitiation for sin. Respose to Quote 3 & 2: You see, with all due respect to your age, I was not born yesterday too. This is an anonymous online forum where we all come to rub mind, agree to disagree or disagree to agree etc based on our different convictions  and opinions. I have been living and working in multi-cultural and ethnically diverse environments for years and I will like you to know that the foundation of any successful relationship in such a setting is "MUTUAL" respect. I will suggest you investigate the true meaning of 'mutual' according to your own conviction not by my own understanding.
On the other hand, when it comes to the issue of faith; it is a matter of "convicition, spiritual discernment  and beliefs" which is ones personal opinion. I have every right to accept or refuse to accept; critically evalute; reject or even ridicule another 'opinion' with evidences; that right is predicated in freedom of speech and expression which is at risk globally now because of intolerace from Islamic extremist who must be confronted and fought to the last man until their ideology of hate and intolerance is either changed or 'removed.' In addition; now to my faith, personally there is nothing like being "politically-correct", it is a 'smuck' way of 'compromise' and there is no compromise in declaring the message of the hidden wisdom of God that has been revealed to us through Christ to the glory of God and that is why we are where we are now.

The ONE and ONLY great THEME or PARADIGM of the Bible is the Lord Jesus Christ and His work of Redemption for mankind. The person and work of Jesus Christ are promised, prophesied, and pictured in ALL the various books and symbols of the Old Testament or 'Taurat'. The Lord Jesus Christ is revealed, in all of His truth and beauty, in the Gospels; and the true full meaning of His life, death and resurrection are then explained in the Epistles. His glorious coming again to the earth in the future is unmistakable foretold in the book of Revelations. Thus the greatest purpose of the written Word of God, the Bible, is to reveal the LIVING WORD OF GOD, THE LORD JESUS CHRIST himself. (Why not read John Chapter 1 vs 1-18 with insight and a validating mind again)
This is the wisdom of God, which He predetermined before the world, but is now revealed to us for glory by His Spirit.
You are surprised that Jesus is from the lineage of David, a man favoured by God!! I hope you wont vomit when I tell you that also in that lineage was a Harlot called Rahab!!! Response to Quote 1: The Lord says to us in 1st John 4:1 that: "Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world." So why should I not validate Muhammed? I have validated and tested him from reading about him and his theology of Islam and you very well know my opinion. I validated the doctrine of grace and mercies of God through Jesus Christ; and the result was I gave my whole life, body and soul to Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour; he is inviting all reading me and the whole world to him. Why not try and validate him, he does not mind!! After all He said in the Psalms 34: 8 that: "O taste (i.e try me or validate me) and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him."

Response to Quote 2: The fact that I said I find it difficult to understand your flow of writing does not mean I am saying you don't know how to write, before you start lecturing on your global business contacts; all he best!. Probably that's your style of writing; even there are professors whose style of writing might be different from mainstream. Different personality, different writing style. On the other hand, I KNOW AND BELIEVE that I am NOT wrong; it is the word of God from the scriptures and I choose to believe it. I am not a Christian trying to be 'politically-correct'; I am a believer in the ONLY living God, and in his mercies through Jesus Christ, and his covenant with the nation of Israel, and his promise to the entire body of Christ, without any compromise.
I do not need or want to continue going round in circles with this issue because there is no need. Your entry is difficult to follow it's line of thought or to know the theme but I did my best. Thus the main issue is this: I said Isaac is the Son of promise of God, offered by Abraham on Mount Moriah as written in the book of Genesis; but you said Ishmael was the one offered as written in your quran.
Now, the book of Genesis (meaning "beginning" in Greek and called Bereshit i.e "in the beggining" in original Hebrew text) was written by Prophet Moses. The Mosaic (i.e Moses's) authorship of the Genesis is supported by the 'Taurat or Torah'(Ex 17:14, Num 33:1, Joshua 1 :7 etc), the Talmud of the Palestinians, the Apocrypha, etc as well as in the New Testament by Jesus Christ himself in Luke 24 vs 27 & 44. This is the book that records the beginning of times, of original sin of first man Adam, of the history of the four great patriachs Abraham, Isaac, Jacob/Israel & Joseph, and of the creation of the nation of Israel as outlined in my previous post. It also records the first Messianic prophecies of the Bible predicting that the Redeemer (Jesus Christ) would be born of the seed of a woman (Gen 3:15), through the line of Seth (Gen 4:25); a son of Shem (Gen 9:27); the offspring of Abraham (Gen 12:3), Isaac (Gen 21:12), and Jacob (Gen 25:23); and from the tribe of Judah (Gen 49:10)
Now since the book was written almost 700-1000 years 'BEFORE' the advent of Islam/Muhammed/Quran (who descended from Ishmael), supported by myrad acheaological and historical evidences from the ancient middle east; how plausible is it that the story in the Quran is true? It is highly unlikely. Additionally, the Quran itself testifies to the authenticity of the Taurat/Torah as 'given by God to Moses' (Sura 5:47-52; Surah 5:69, 71-72, Surah 6:91, Surah 3:3). Now, you asked whether Muhammed was lying in his own account of Abraham-Isaac-Ishmael story? YES, he was!: let's say the truth and put the devil to shame!! Why? Simply to confuse and indoctrinate people into his new ideology called Islam. History and quran records it that muhammed initially tried to convert the jews to his religion and when he was rejected went on rampage killing and murdering the jews; and the instruction is still in your quran today that muslim are not to keep jews and christians ("people of the books" as friends; and to kill them at any opportunity. (that has been referended from varous suras at various times, so I don't need to repeat it). Because we represent the greatest challenge or obstacle to the "apparent" 'truth' and 'authority' of Quran. Which is why a lot of stories in quran are from the bible account with some twisting, simply to add to it's authenticity for the sake of the "people of the books." Thus the instruction is there in your quran from Muhammed that if people do not accept Islam peacefully, then they should be made to accept it by force or be killed.
I thank God Almighy because he told us 'in all things we should get understanding'. We are in the era of some people trying to be politically-correct, I do not subscribe to that. I will say the truth as contained in the scriptures; if anybody's sensibilities is offended, well,,,,,,,,,,,,the truth still remains true.

Thanks for eventually coming directly after series of veiled references to us as 'dogs', 'lightweights' etc, to which we bear no grudge but stand firmly (with no compromise!) on the principles & doctrine of mercies through faith in Jesus Christ alone. Nobody expect anybody to drag himself or herself on the floor to another human being, but "Let God be TRUE, and all men be liars." God is one and only true God and Jesus is His only begotten Son who became flesh for the sake of mankind. God said it, I and my house believe it and the world WILL know it. I use the icons to express my moods because I am always in good mood and good cheer since "christ has overcome the world."

Every 'born-again' Christian MUST recognise the importance of our spiritual relationship and shared covenant to the Jews and the nation of Israel. This relationship was foretold in the blessings of God upon Abraham in Gen.12 vs 2-3 (2)"And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shal be a blessing. (3) And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse them that curse thee' and IN THEE SHALL ALL FAMILIES OF THE EARTH BE BLESSED."

And in Gen 13 vs 14-15:
"And the Lord said unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from him, Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art northwards, and southwards, and eastwards, and westwards:
(15) FOR ALL THE LAND WHICH THOUGH SEEST, TO THEE WILL I GIVE IT, AND TO THY SEED FOR EVER."
This is the promise of God Almighty that covenated the land upon which Israel now stands to the seeds of Abraham. But which seeds?? When Abraham asked God to bless his firstborn child (i.e Ishmael; the progenitor of Arabs and their ideology/theology of Islam & Allah) as was the custom, God said NO!! Read Gen 17 vs 18-19

Jesus Christ came out of the 'Root of David' in the nation of Israel, and 'through Him shall all the nations of the earth be blessed.' Jesus Christ came to proclaim the kingdom of God, seal the covenant of God with Israel, redeem us from sin,  graft us the Gentiles into the covenant of God through faith, etc. Thus every christian MUST know he is covenantly and spiritually connected to the promises of Abraham and nation of Israel through Jesus Christ. Every christian MUST support and pray for the nation of Israel against it's enemies who want to 'wipe them out of the face of the earth.' The land of Israel belongs to them as covenated by God himself and anybody who supports the division of the land of Israel will face the judgement of God.(This is not a threat, it is written!!)

WHY DO THE ISLAMIC NATIONS WANT ISRAEL WIPED OUT? (& also their hatred for the West?)
This is rooted in Genesis 17 vs 18-19 as shown above. I read you posting above and I found it very amusing. You see, I am not surprised at the sentiments you displayed  because I share it almost totally and I really do not blame you, dear. Communication experts have said that even the best of messages when wrongly packaged will appear wrong. Such an individual is the business of holy spirit to teach, educate or enlighten, not man. (thus I commed TayoD's struggle ). I will rather engage an atheist, muslim or pagan than such a 'born again' christian. Why did I say this? in the journey of faith in life, there are 2 stages, first is Conversion and after this comes Regeneration. While Conversion is the product of a conscious and genuine decision by an individual to become saved inspired by the holy spirit; the journey of Regeration (during which we grow or mature in christ and in our individual ministry) is primarily the work of God/Holy Spirit. Thus while I can engage muslims, pagans, atheist etc with the hope of their conversion, I can only pray for a 'born again' christian displaying such spiritual arrogance, i.e. the-I-know-it-all and I-am-always-right-syndrome. This trait is not one-off, it is consistent in all his posts, in all topics, in all threads. So please pray for him,which is what I have done.

PART B: On the other hand, he might have some interesting/sensible points (only very few, mind you), but as I said, the erroneous packaging and the arrogant delivery of such points has confounded the few sensible messages. We as christians, need to always pray for, and uphold our Men of God, not only from attack of the devil but also from the behaviour of people of God ourselves. It is true that in a lot of churces, 'christians' may unknowingly be setting up their Pastors/Leaders by "over-edification", if not more than God himself. Such a thing can isolate our Pastors because they will be afraid of showing any weakness or showing their human side but more importantly to seek help for such weakness, when surronded by such a people who almost 'idolise' them. There is nothing wrong with honouring and respecting our men of God. For example, I've been attending a programme of fasting and prayers in church with a Guest minister from Minneapolis, a good inspirational teacher and prayer warrior; at the end of one of the programmes, he said that "There may be one or two people who God has laid it on their hearts to shake his hand at the end of the programme and he would wait." At the end of the programme, almost the entire church lined up to "shake" his hand for more prayers. A lady now asked me if I am not going to shake the guest minister's hand, I said no because God did not lay it on my heart to do so, but God laid it on my heart to pray for him. She said she will go, and I asked did God lay it on your heart?, she did not reply but laughed. I believe that there are people who God told to do so but most might have turned it to 'opportunity' to shake the MOG'. The point is this: after more than 4 days of praying and fasting to God, some people still believe they need to shake the hand of the MOG. Believe me, even the strongest of men could become weak or proud with such 'adulation'. Now, imagine if somebody like that has a problem and needs help, how easy will it be for him to seek help with such an adulating crowd.?
So, we need to pray for our men of God and for maturity to increase in the body of christ. Because just as TayoD rightly said, God want's us to be fed for life but he also wants us to grow from milk to meat in the journey of faith. Our Pastors are among the most isolated people because of the behaviours of us christians, and this is being used by devil to attack them. So, let's really pray for divine wisdom for men of God particularly to deal with such situations which is very common.

You don't have to go to Bible school or be ordained to do this (i.e stand in Gap). You can "stand in the gap" for anyone, anywhere, at any time.

Actually, I was expecting something of such as you've listed, so I am not surprised!! All that you've listed as 'similarities' are rather precocious. You can as well look at similarities between Christianity and Islam and paganism or buddhism, etc using the same simplistic logic because they also believe in 'their' own deity. E.g traditional worshipers in Ile-Ife believe Oduduwa is the god who created the world using a chicken to spread sand over the oceans ;  they also have strong moral, ethical codes; some believe in sanctity of human life; many pagans/idol worshipers also have 'divine' guidance book, etc according to your listed criteria of 'similarities'. So the Ethiopianking must have been clearly uninformed and/or simply trying to play politics to save his life/kingdom from the 'Islamic' visitors.

But, the truth is this: these similarities are not 'true' because they are only a 'literal' comparism and not the  correct 'thematic'[b] comparism that is accurate for a belief system.i.e. [b]what are the THEMES within which you have these 'similar' beliefs? If you carry out such a simple 'thematic' comparism, you will know that there is NO similarity between  'Christianity' and Islam or paganism etc
E.g we believe in Heaven where God is, and He will be glorified continously by us, and one can only get there through Jesus Christ the 'truth, the way and the life'; But you muslims believe in a heaven called 'jannat' where you 'believers' will be rewarded with abundant food, SEX (one man to many women according to his taste), fine cloths etc, and where you can't find your 'allah' because he is 'too big' to be in 'jannat/heaven'. Thus it will be very simplistic and incorrect to say we both believe in existence of 'Heaven' while a thematic analysis clearly shows otherwise. You can carry out similar thematic analysis of all your so-called similarities and you can see that, with all due respect sir, there is ABSOLUTELY NO similarity between christianity and Islam!!. One of my favourite quotes remains: "the best of men are still men at their very best". the fact that a preacher "messes up" does not change the possible truth in the message(s) he's preached. If verifiable news about Pastor Adeboye of RCCG (or anyother preacher for that matter) filters in to reveal some sordid habits, does that change how many people God has blessed through them? My call is; follow God (THIS HAS SAID IT ALL!!), pick his possible messages from men but don't walk blindly behind them. I've headed a campus fellowship before and i sincerely know the times i was really on a low point in my life but was required to still encourage people in fellowship. I see it that most God help us all.

Thanks for this short but very very matured post of yours. What you are describing is simply the 'spirit of discernment' which EVERY christian is supposed to pray for, nuture by personally reading and researching the word of God, pray for wisdom in understanding and seeking clarifications from appointed elders or teachers at times. However, a lot of us are either too spiritually lazy to do this; prefering hook, line and sinker sermons and pastor worshipping. Or at the other extreme, are those who are too spiritually proud resulting in their counfounded interpretation of the scriptures, as well as jugdemental and self-righteous paradigm of thinking.
