tell the youths to leave tribal sentiments and we will come together and progress.
In Nigeria, people take more interest on others personal matters/issues than collective issues.
We should look more into what affects everybody and leave individual tastes provided it doesn't affect others for the individuals to deal with.
E.g Boko harem wants to islamise(religion) Nigeria, which should be a personal matter for an adult, and are fighting, dying for this course. Whereas the same people can't fight corruption in their domain which affects everybody. |

All these yoruba kids insulting GEJ because he's not from their tribe will be the ones to quickly point tell others that they should respect elders when one of theirs is insulted or criticized.
Militancy in the Niger delta started during obj's time and was not curbed successfully by OBJ. Odi was never a militancy issue but problem between youths and the police for injustice against them and the military was sent to go and apprehend the boys.
throughout OBJ's tenure, militants reigned supreme and Nigeria's oil output reduced drastically. JTF was never successful in the fight against the niger delta militants. Yar Adua initiated and started the amnesty program to stop the niger delta militants and increase oil output.
The main reason why there was no much outcry against MEND as it is presently happening with BH was because MEND wasn't killing innocent citizens indiscriminately as BH. |

kalokalo: First off, we don't seem to understand that a minimum wage job isn't a job for family men and women with dependents. Even if it is, a person earning minimum wage has no business having 3 kids. If only we realize that we have it relatively good compared to those abroad
In the US, people go to college thru financial aid, scholarships, loans and many people work full/part time doing odd jobs to survive college. How many Nigerians in naija are willing to do security guard, wash cars, tutor or just do anything legit to pay for school? I did and I paid my way thru school in addition to loans and financial aid. How can we value naija education when it didn't cost us blood? We have bursary in Naija and federal and state scholarship boards. master you went to a country that you are not an indigene and received financial aid. Yet you are advising somebody to stay put where indigenous people can't get financial aids and loans. Why did you go out? You should have remained in 9ja na if e easy people like una plenty for 9ja always don't want people to be like them, the exclusive club for elites Where you asked to provide local government identification certificate(letter) duly signed by your local government chairman after recognition by a traditional ruler? |

Basseti: My point is very simple.
We have way important issues to deal with than to pretend we are the "upholders of moral virtue". Like someone said, we voted NO , now lets move on and focus on our immediate problems. I dont see how the this issue will 1) Improve electricity in Naija 2) Improve roads in Naija 3)Improve the quality of transparency in Nigeria 4) Improve transparency in govt in Naija 5) Improve our ratings as one of the corrupt nations in the world 6) Stop the desperate exodus of the youths out of Naija, ,,,,,,,,,,,,, make I continue ?
On a personal note, what a man does to another man in the name of love is none of my business and I am not bothered by it. thank u |
Same sentiments kabba7. I think its an insult on other cultures and a complete farce! The whole thing stinks from head to toe. I think it should be the winner of MBG in each state meeting in the national final. To me, this looks like girls from one campus in the east all went in and slept with one of the organisers. I am particularly offended and I think Nigerians should just ignore this 'igbo girl's contest'. I mean how will a 'Kelechi' really represent Osun state? Does she know of yeye osun? Its going to be very boring at the end of the day with 30 igbo girls out of 34 9ja states.
Not igbo contest it is more like yoruba, igbo, and hausa (middle belt). you have to give it to the igbos, next they will be claiming all those states as igbo states. |

In Nigeria, the leaders don't care, so people resort to violence to settle scores. If two communities have land dispute the one with more powerful people connected to the government wins the case or is favoured. so now any communities that have problems resort to violence to show their supremacy. |

rhymz: what exactly is your point? That we should fold our hands akimbo and wait till it gets to a point where according to you it will be worthy of discussion? Do you know or even understand the whole politics behind this Same-sex proliferation? Do you think it is a question of rights or just some people trying so hard to convince a majority to see their excessive indulgence as normal? We should forget beating about the bush and concentrate on improving our lives. Nigeria voted against but the resolution has been passed and adopted already. So our crying won't change anything. China, Russia, etc are all members of the UN yet fundamental human rights by the UN of which they are members are abused daily. When we get to that stage the UN can go to hell with any resolution that is against our collective culture and societal norms. |

edoyad: Madam you're calling for jungle justice, i don't think that's the way to go here. The state governors who've have been using these multinationals to embezzle money must start to act right. The companies know that the govts don't give a droppings about the people that why they equally treat the locals as droppings. See what the US govt did to BP, that's real governance for you. Do you think if the US government didn't take action the citizens wouldn't have resorted to jungle justice? |

chillbabe: So nobody thought about why the efcc had to arrest him just before the president's visit to the US president.could it be that this guy who represent the youths of Nigeria whom the likes of Babangida has written off as no goods to leead the country been seen as an arrogant 'over sabi'small brat that wants to rub shoulders with elders be a torn in the flesh to some people who had no choice but to surrender him as the fall guy or the best pawn for negotiating any deal.how come nobody is suprised this guy lost his re-election bid.who thinks David Mark would have survived such an onslaught if his head had been asked for on the negotiation table. My dear people if you think the zoning debacle is all over or that Jonathan will be allowed to rule in peace please do have a rethink.Does boko haram come to mind anyone.what's their origin and what were their initial fights for so what are they doing in Abuja now.As far as I'm concerned the next for years will make or mar Nigeria and our dear President knows this and is willing to make any and even further concessions to have a peaceful reign even if it means pawning Sambo or David Mark. There will always be corruption charges not been talked about right now that'll be flying left right and centre the. I am not holding forte for Bankole neither am I calling him a saint but Nigerians really need to think outside the box sometimes. Nigerians always think outside the box, only problem is they don't take action outside the box. |
