I worked on paper about RFID technology, my instructor was so excited that she told me she would be honored to be my advisor. Now, when my dept chair heard about it and talked to OSRP, they wanted to move forward with the project. Anyway bottom line is I was thinking differently because of my environment, my environment was healthy, comfortable, I related to my environment making me think differently, however, that did not make me have an A+ in the class just because it was a healthy environment. I hope u get the point.
Try that with any Nigerian University and remain there next five years with carry overs.

The Nigerian University system is based on structured question/answer.  You mama and papa never born you well to think ahead for your instructor.

That's one reason why companies require minimum of three years post graduation experience because the grads in Nigeria find it difficult to fit in as they don't think outside the box.

Instead of Engineering undergraduates to be encouraged to think of solutions to problems using available materials and tech around us, it is not done so.

Fellow Nigerians, when are we going to stop falling for cheap publicity and noise making in this country? When??

When has it now become a crime worthy of sensationalism that you have found NFF's money in NFF's account? Was the money supposed to have been kept in NSC or EFCC's account?
Maybe what they are indirectly saying is they were surprised that NFF had money as the thought all the money had been stolen, so EFCC was shocked to still see that there was still money! Or what can I make of this?

Soon, it would be news that crude oil was found at Warri refinery! grin grin grin

You said it all, so many so called undergrads even when the bin is beside them, they just litter the floor and expect their slaves/servants to clean it up.

If really you worship our Lord Jesus Christ then you will follow his teachings in Matthew 5, Mark 10 Instead you are busy following the teachings of his Apostle Paul in 1Corinthians 7. No wonder you people always hang on every word of your pastors, mog, etc even though you know it goes against Christ's teachings.

Mr Omololu,, your position and thinking on this issue is wrong.Just like many bigots who ve said one thing or the other on this issue. The truth is that people should not dabble into issues that they have little or no knowledge about. Why do you think the reason for Ighodalo's divorce was his fault? Have you ever thought if the said marriage was contracted under God? was he a Christian whe he married to the said wife?
so God now contracts marriages, and all marriages before conversion to Christianity is null and void. good grin grin grin

The arabs kindly agreed to allow the jews to have some of their land because of their hard ships after the haulocost.Israel was supplied by western powers and began to expand beyond the land given to them by the palestinians. What the jews were doing was taking palestinian land  that is what led to the trouble than the 6 day war against isreal and the surrounding arab countries. What the Jews did was zionism. They did not have to  beg and fight year after year for self-determination. they were just given it. Israel was accepted as a member of the United Nations by majority vote on May 11, 1949, a year after they declared independence. Clearly the united nations gave them independence in the snap of a finger.
Agreed the UN voted for them to be recognized as an independent nation. Recognizing somebody as independent and giving independent are two different issues entirely.

But you should know that before this time the Jews were bringing back their people in the thousands. Britain being the colonists was under pressure from the Arabs because of their oil to stop the Jews coming back. Ship loaded with Jews were denied entry into Palestinian waters, that was when the Jews decided to go on hunger strike to gain the sympathy of other nations. So many people sacrificed their lives to actualize the Jewish state. The Zionists believe the land was theirs so why buy. And with their increasing numbers the land wasn't enough for them.

ikenwan,

I agree with what you have said, but the question is, why do people in Europe are given the opportunity to have homogenous or close to homogenous nations. Germans live in Germany, Italians live in Italy, French live and France etc. These nations are based solely on one major ethnic group.

I know people like to argue that Africa is made up of many tribes, but a lot of these tribes have no business being made into a seperate ethnic group when they all speak the same language or just a different dialect. The example I like to use is the Ibibio. Efiks, Ibibio, Calabari and I believe Ogoni all speak the same language, but people act like they are different ethnic groups. They are one of the same.
EzeUche

I never misquoted you. Please check the expression in bold, you can still go back and read what you posted. If your intention was "I think" and inadvertently you typed "I believe" then no problem, everybody makes such.

but on the Israel issue, i beg to defer, if it was created under the Balfour declaration as you said, why wasn't Israel created before 1947? It was after Hitler's massacre that the Jews had renewed determination to go to their homeland. and for your information at first the Jews even bought lands from the Arabs, unusable land which they turned around, but coming to declare a nation was what the Arabs were against which led to the war.

Kosovo is such a small nation, in which some of our minority tribes like the Ijaw have a bigger population than the population of Kosovo, yet when an African people want self-determination, the whole world says we can't

Why must we keep our colonial borders?
Kosovo fought for it with one voice, where killed and during the peace talks the opted for a separate nation. They were not just being docile and demanding we want a separation nation and the world rose with one voice and say "yes you need to be separate"

ogoni and (Efiks, Ibibio) are not the same, in fact there is no single similarity between them. it's the only unique tribe in rivers state without any overlapping language with other ethnic groups. make proper research before posting rubbish

Guy I am baffled by the same thing. When the Jews yearned for their own state the UK had no problem going all the way back to Palestine carve out Israel. The Jews lost about 6 million while Biafra lost about 3 million. Both were being persecuted but somehow black Africans of Biafra didn't deserve their own nation. The USSR split into several nations and there was no objection. Tiny Kosovo just did the samething yet even fellow Africans can't see the imbalance in the way bothe people are treated so different. I just don't get why we don't believe in ourselves.
If they tell you the determination of the Jews you will be baffled. Brother read history books how the Jews got their state. May be you have not heard of the seven days war between the Jews and the Arabs. you think Israel was created on a platter of gold? people were on hunger strike, some died boats were left on the high seas. the nation of Israel was gotten after much blood shedding

USSR split was easy because Russia which was controlling the federation wanted the split and they were not depending on the others, in fact they saw the others as burdens.

But in Nigeria it's the other way round.

In Phc there is a toll gate in front of all the police stations.  Police station being on your street/road is like a curse because you pay more for transport fare and there is no benefits of protection as robbers easily rob people living on those streets/roads.

along some major roads, there is police check point every 200 meters interval (accurary +0.00001mm)

Come to think of it, Is it Onovo that is the cause of the crime? Ever since, i was a kid, what the society (the world at large)has been battling with is how to curb various crime, there has not been any society that has completely rid itself of crimes. Before Onovo entered, we have been battling with this kidnapping thing in the Niger Delta, people dared coming back home, the Jos crisis and other religious crisis has always been there, bank robbery has always been there, so I believe this is a phase and Nigerian govt will always do her best to curb the various crimes. I believe Onovo is doing his best to curtail the kidnapping thing and reduce the crime in Nigeria.

What do we mean by lazy here? When somebody knows the right thing to do and refuse to do it because he will not get any personal benefit out of it? The same leaders who are sending their children to good schools abroad (like ikengawo), build the best houses, owns multiple real estate in various countries, builds factories - refineries outside the country so that they will not lose it all in case of a military coup?

Somebody should please educate me more on the "LAZINESS" being discussed here.

The same people who knows what the masses want to hear and smartly tells them that. The masses having heard such time and time again still see it as a new issue to be happy about.

Any crook can come and tell people how he will solve the power problem after two years of failure he gives excuses and some smart peeps will agree with him/her.

Oshiomole confessed openly his failure in running a state and peeps are already talking of him becoming president. How can we move forward with such mentality?
