Forget what you hear in Nigeria, especially from government officials (both civil servants and appointed officials).

It's only in Nigeria that a non-functioning project is commissioned and will be widely reported by the press.  The media will be filled with congratulatory messages, including messages from religious bodies and c(t)hiefs.

Goodluck to you then. Its no pulldown syndrome, its genuinely puzzling to me for someone with such a massive project to not have the knowledge to even kick off. You talked about having a backing of your bank. I still wonder what Bank,(in these uncertain times) would give you the facilities for such without you proving to them beyond all doubts that you are capable of delivering what you propose.

Anyways, good luck.
It's the Cecelia Ibru style banks, you don't need to prove anything to get the loan.

Newcreatio, Thank you for reminding us what a profession is ,

The highest paid profession or professional would be the guy who runs his own business.

He may not be so rich when starting out but he's getting there in time.

There is nothing as fulfilling and complementing as running your own time, business and deciding for yourself, how much you want to earn. So as a professional practising my profession in my own company, i can decide to want a salary of N5million a month.

That simply translates to tuning my work to make sure that my net per month is in excess of 5M, so I can pay my salary and those of my staff and keep the company running.
If everybody buys your idea who will be your staff? robots or human beings?

This argument is inherently flawed. Otherwise, girls would only date guys that are already dating other girls, and how exactly does that work?  Also' I think 'happening guy' does not describe a guy with a girlfriend/wife; merely having a girlfriend or wife does not make one hot property. 'Happening guy' is the handsome and suave sharp-dresser that drives one or two nice cars and maintains a healthy bank account. . .and also knows his way around town. Whether he is single or married is irrelevant; he'll keep chopping, cleaning mouth, and moving on to the next meal. In fact being single will even help his cause - who needs a 'partner' to cramp one's style?
As much as i will not dispute your opinion, I have come across girls who do it.

Please my bro take heart. I have also felt this passionately about mis-rule in Delta state. Deltan's deserve more. So it really makes me so sad when I see people come on here and defend anything Ibori did. How can they let themselves be despoiled over and over, by the same evil person. All I wish for Deltan's is Justice.
They are not defending Ibori, they are working for their own pockets, but what annoys me most is when they mention God with their stin.king mouths.

In my opinion, let them fight themselves since the masses are not bold enough to stand up to these elite thieves. With time they will be more careful in stealing considering the consequences if they fall out with the powers that be. Steal less 10% and do more 90% compared to what obtains at present where more is stolen 95% and less 5% is used for the masses benefit.

@akinde, that was witty of you. i really wonder what some people think when they post such messages on forums like this. is it an offer or invitation for interview. lets be clear about these two words. one only has an offer when the employment letter with terms and conditions including salary per annum are clearly stated. in fact in some cases the invitation for interview letters might show the pay package. so mr or mrs or miss EM EYE. try next time, that wasnt smart enough.
jmakinde:
@poboski,

I stand to be corrected. The guy said he has two "OFFER Letters" and not two "invitation for test letter" it is in your own imagination and thinking that makes you to read meaning or assumed that he was talking about invitation for test or something like that. I would advice you check your dictionary for the word "OFFER" so if he has two offer letters from two different banks then he has the answers his requesting for except he posted his request by using the wrong word "OFFER" instead of invitation which i am not ready to assume on his behalf.
stop attacking the guy. you are misunderstanding what he meant. witty (synonyms) humorous, amusing, droll, clever, sharp.
He was pointing out how smart you are in detecting the anomaly.

i have seen people compromising their pin numbers, at some atm terminals, especially month ends when workers collect salary it is crowded and instead of people to keep their distance to enable the person withdrawing to enter his/her pin discretely.  You will see people shoving even the person collecting and most times they are not bothered only interested in collecting the cash.  I always insist people give me some space, if they refuse I refrain from entering my pin.  You will hear some people abusing you "how much do you have? you think I'm a thief? In fact how did you get the money? and so many derogatory remarks will be made.  There are thieves among them and the honest innocent ones will support them, because to their knowledge you are alleging that they are all crooks.

Now u may dis-agree with the sale, but what has happened since then?
The argument was that the refineries were sold far less than real worth.

Personally I'm not for government to run concerns that should be in private hands.

for instance take the GSM operators, since their networks are making money for them, they work around the clock to make sure its up and running. That's how they make their money. Subscribers don't look for a way to repair damaged or faulty base stations as is applicable to NEPA/PHCN.

I have always been an advocate for private ownership of business, but with regulation/control by the government, not only when they want to collect revenues.

Why not form a real company, use your influence to get real contracts, execute it well
in the process hire Nigerians. . and before u know it your company will grow,u list it on the stock exchange and make more ppl rich

Thats how countries like india, indonesia south korea and so on did it
and thats why i have always liked obasanjos style. .

Under Obasanjo
Refineries were sold to cronies yes, today they would have been producing at full capacity
but it was cancelled by the inept yar a dull

Power companies were to be privatized and sold to cronies yes,now we would have been moving forward
but it was again stalled by the inept yar adull
NIPP same thing,NITEL sale same thing,Transcorp,Same thing
so we move around in circles, while other nations move ahead. .

Also Nigerians cant seem to understand that the more u keep these companies under govt control, the less money Govt will allocate to education, health or security
because they will have to keep spending money on power,NITEL salaries,TAM for refineries every yr with nothing to show. .

so yes our ppl are clueless,The lazy crooks that prefer to steal with no work deceive them and they say alleluyah

I will disagree with you on some points
1. the 'yar adull' only reversed it after more than six years of inaction. Licenses were approved for so many refineries and yet not was done, not less than 10 (can't remember the actual number)
2. Most Nigerian will appreciate the companies to be privatized, but antecedents have proved that they end up milking the people without any improvements.  If PHCN is privatized be rest assured that the one and only Agitator will sue them to bankruptcy  cool
3. Nitel bought by Transcorp wasn't functional, in fact it was even going down with all their already existing base stations and infrastructure.  Are you aware that when cable tv license was approved in UK, BT (British Telecom) was not allowed to roll out services for about 5years just to give a head start to the new companies.  Argument was that BT already have the infrastructures on ground (existing telephone cabling all over UK) so it will be unfair to the new companies, who have to start from scratch to lay cables.  BT would charge less to kill of competition which is not healthy as it will end up being a monopoly.
