Enjoyment1:
There is this beautiful Angel I used to date when I was in School. We dated for over 11 years in all. She was in the then Polytechnic of Calabar and later went to Akwa Poly to do her HND, while I schooled in UNICAL. After our school days, she left for NYSC. When she returned, she started behaving funny. On several occasions, I asked her if there was any problem, she said No!. She started calling me less, and was always in a hurry to drop my calls. I persuaded her to at least open up on any error, issue or offence I must have committed. She still emphasized that there was nothing. On the 1st of February, 2009, she sent me a text telling me that she has seen her husband, and that I should help her thank God (please note that, we have concluded arrangement from both family ends on immediate marriage once I am able to get a job).

Since I could'not get a job immediately, she decided to move on with Plan B, as I later discovered from her sister. To make it more painful, the same period I got a job, they have printed their wedding cards and have even gone ahead with their traditional wedding. The new guy works in a bank, and I learnt they both live in one estate in Lagos. I tried persuading her before the issue of wedding came, to let me know my stand, as it was becoming obvious she was double-dating, but she maintained her stand that all was well. Now they are fully married, and now permanently resides with her husband in Lagos.

The reason for this posting is that, she called and was begging for forgiveness. She said,my not forgiving her, is the reason why she cannot conceive after her February, 2009 wedding. Really, I find it very hard to forgive her after holding me captive for over 11 years (as the case now seems). Today, GOD has really been faithful to me. I work in the Hospitality unit of a company in Abuja, and now live very comfortable.

Apart from forgiving her, which I don't have a choice because of GOD, how do I over come this situation. Where do I start from again. Can I really love again?. I am ready for marriage today, but where is the girl that stood by me for 11 years?. Can I ever find a suitable replacement for her, because she was really beautiful, both in appearance, character, and in everything?. She really led me to Christ. I knew GOD whole-heartedly because of her. Will there ever be any woman again like her out there?.  cry cry cry cry

Many fail to remove the log on their eyes, but seeing that of Ibori. Who is a saint here amongst those castigating Ibori? Those small malpractices they do in their various offices, are they not the same with that of Ibori in the sight of GOD? Small sin and Big sin are both the same before GOD.

Let GOD and the works of men, judge every man's action. The law of Karma, will ever take its toll on every man, so we need not judge or call people names.
Do not forget that, if you point a finger at any man, the rest faces you. Stop judging!.

Let people leave Ibori alone. Monkey no fine, but him mama like am. His people would have nailed him if he had stolen as the Obasanjos of this world. Even the Odidlis, the El-Rufais and even the Ribadus are walking the street free. Do you know the number of people the stolen money that Ibori has been accused off,has helped in paying people salaries. Do you know that thesame Ibori (directly or indirectly) has employees to the tune of 4,500 receiving salaries. For every single person he pays salary, you can multiply the number of mouths he gets to feed.

If not for the prayers of these people, he would have been caught a long time ago, but for the fact that, he invested a greater chunk of that money locally, that is why his people are not bothered about his status.

If dem born Saint El-Rufai well, let him appear in any public place in Abuja, and lets see what will happen to him. Even Saint Ribadu knows his hands are not clean. We are still waiting! lipsrsealed lipsrsealed lipsrsealed.

Politics › Re: How Corruption Works In Countries Like The USA! by agitator: 3:04pm On May 26, 2010
pro01:
I agree with the bolded parts. Indeed, the idea of "gradual process" in the fight against corruption does not hold water. There will never be sufficient political will to bring about an institutionalization of processes - no society has ever 'gradually' evolved to a state of development. Development is almost always ignited by a revolution, not an evolution. The USA and other Western/developed societies went through the phase of massive corruption and underdevelopment that we are in now, true, but they transcended that phase through the revolutionary efforts of both the masses and a courageous set of selfless leaders. In the case of Nigeria, since there is an acute shortage of courageous leaders that are willing to commit 'class suicide' by selflessly fighting corruption and institutionalizing good governance, the masses SHOULD AS A MATTER OF NECESSITY take the bull by the horns and force a peoples' revolution. ONLY this can root out corruption and set us on the path of development. All this 'gradual process' nonsense would never work; at least not in our life time. We can only talk of 'gradual process' to development AFTER the institutionalization of systems and process has been instituted. Examples like Singapore and Malaysia readily come to mind: how many years of "gradual process" did it take them to achieve First World status and virtually eradicate corruption? Less than a decade. Only the lazy, timid and gullible Nigerian masses would accept "gradual process" and prefer to wallow in their suffering.
"Who will bell the cat"
Even the police and military men/women, especially the junior officers suffering the same fate are the people a few officers will order and they will start killing the masses.  Most times I don't know if to feel pity or hatred for them, while overhearing their complains.

A dead politician
While walking down the street one day a "Member of Parliament" is tragically hit by a truck and dies.

His soul arrives in heaven and is met by St. Peter at the entrance.

'Welcome to heaven,' says St. Peter. 'Before you settle in, it seems there is a problem. We seldom see a high official around these parts, you see, so we're not sure what to do with you.'

'No problem, just let me in,' says the man.

'Well, I'd like to, but I have orders from higher up. What we'll do is have you spend one day in hell and one in heaven. Then you can choose where to spend eternity.'

'Really, I've made up my mind. I want to be in heaven,' says the MP.

'I'm sorry, but we have our rules.'

And with that, St. Peter escorts him to the elevator and he goes down, down, down to hell. The doors open and he finds himself in the middle of a green golf course. In the distance is a clubhouse and standing in front of it are all his friends and other politicians who had worked with him.

Everyone is very happy and in evening dress. They run to greet him, shake his hand, and reminisce about the good times they had while getting rich at the expense of the people.

They play a friendly game of golf and then dine on lobster, caviar and champagne.

Also present is the devil, who really is a very friendly & nice guy who has a good time dancing and telling jokes. They are having such a good time that before he realizes it, it is time to go.

Everyone gives him a hearty farewell and waves while the elevator rises,

The elevator goes up, up, up and the door reopens on heaven where St. Peter is waiting for him.

'Now it's time to visit heaven.'

So, 24 hours pass with the MP joining a group of contented souls moving from cloud to cloud, playing the harp and singing. They have a good time and, before he realizes it, the 24 hours have gone by and St. Peter returns.

'Well, then, you've spent a day in hell and another in heaven. Now choose your eternity.'

The MP reflects for a minute, then he answers: 'Well, I would never have said it before, I mean heaven has been delightful, but I think I would be better off in hell.'

So St. Peter escorts him to the elevator and he goes down, down, down to hell.

Now the doors of the elevator open and he's in the middle of a barren land covered with waste and garbage.

He sees all his friends, dressed in rags, picking up the trash and putting it in black bags as more trash falls from above.

The devil comes over to him and puts his arm around his shoulder. 'I don't understand,' stammers the MP. 'Yesterday I was here and there was a golf course and clubhouse, and we ate lobster and caviar, drank champagne, and danced and had a great time. Now there's just a wasteland full of garbage and my friends look miserable.

What happened?'

The devil looks at him, smiles and says, 'Yesterday we were campaigning, ,

Today you voted.'

Hello to all,

Please i need an advise now, as I am totally confused. huh embarassed

I am now in love with my cousin's Ex-guy. We have been in love for the past six months.
He broke up the relationship with my cousin about 1year and 6month today.

This is how it happen,
My counsin befriend this guy for a year, when the going was good, and they both loved each other, the guy was so caring, so loving to my counsin and i. After some month the guy lost hIS job, the next step was for my counsin was to start complaining that the guy is not taking good care of her and so on and so forth, that she is quiting, so i asked her just like that?, it is because he is no longer working?, she never say a word to me.

My cousin just end up the relationship like that without expressing her feeling to Him why she is quiting the relationship, she just told him it was over between them. Since he was in love with her, He called me that i should help him beg on his behalf. I had to tell my counsin to give him a chance, but she refused.

fortunately enough for her she met a new guy who promise marrying her and she started a relationship with her new guy.

This guy came asking me out after a year of his broke-up with my counsin, though it was easy for me to say yes, after two months of much pressure i decided to say yes, which made him get back to himself.

My cousin is aware of our relationship and have haeard that we loved ourselves, and the guy just got a new job with SPDC and she goes around painting my name with a black paint on a white wall.

The fact remains that the person who promise marrying her has disappointed her, and now she is angry with me because i am now i her position. She said she really wants to come back to him, which is not possible.

Please should i countinue with this relationship? or should i quit it. i really need and advise.

Because as it stands now my cousin hates me, calls me cheat, and even tell people that i came in with my beauty to snatch her guy from her by putting a smile on my face, i am afraid she might decide one day to kill me because of this very issue, ple!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!ase i need advise(s)

lol. Nice response. Dem no dey hear word.

@ Post.

The concept of 'male friends' has always been very funny and rightly so (especially when you have a serious bf or husband). It's like saying that a goat can be friends with a yam, or a monkey with a banana. The one would ravenously devour the other at the first opportunity - whether it takes ten minutes or ten years is irrelevant, it is only waiting to happen.

The truth is that ALL so-called male friends (me inclusive) would slam-dunk their jimmies into the girl's honeypot at the slightest opportunity, forget all the 'just friends, just friend' bull.s**t. Besides there is no doubt that you may reveal stuff about your man or your relationship issues to the so-called close male friends; believe me they may take advantage of that info and slyly hint that you deserve more - all in the attempt to seduce you in the most subtle way. Before you know it you'd gradually 'notice' that your friend is more generous, more attentive/caring, and has a bigger 'bulge' than your boyfriend who has "been annoying of late". Next thing one thing leads to another and your hapless boyfriend is cuckolded. In any case, what would a girl be discussing about with a 'male friend' behind closed doors sef? About Mutallab? Or the earthquake in Haiti? Don't make me laugh abeg.

Whatever happened to friends of your own gender? It's funny when I see some deluded boyfriends acting 'secure' about the fact that their babes keep 'close' male friends. I've been in the latter category a few times and I did the silly boyfriends no favours at all (if you catch the drift).

Any girl who wants to quit singlehood must put its ways behind and tell herself the common-sensical truth. If we are serious about fighting corruption, then, people like Obasanjo should be in jail today, because he presided over a period of the greatest oil boom in Nigeria since independence 1999 -2007. Yet, today we have people living like rodents inside dumps! Sheds more tears. .  cry cry cry

Back in school we used to joke that Nigerians/Africans have progressively travelled down this pyramid, since we were colonized, and even more since the end of colonization.

One thing that bothers me most about Nigerians (me and you are all guilty) is our abhorrence of anything relating to physical or mental labour, and our clinging to white-collar symbols - multiple degrees, as well as jobs that involve very little actual skill.

Not that we are mentally deficient - to pack multiple degrees you need some significant brainpower - but our society's total rejection of actual hands-on skills for paper qualifications and tons of irrelevant book knowledge is only going to do us a lot of harm in the long run.

There is zero existence of actual skilled manpower in Nigeria, while there is a deluge of men and women holding meaningless certificates.

Let me even ask a funny question: Are we aware that these certificates actually work in other countries? I know many people, Nigerians abroad, who have advanced technical degrees, and are actually putting these degrees to work out there. However, oftentimes I get resumes from people who are looking for jobs in Nigerian telecoms, and they have Phds in telecom engineering! I always wonder, what would such a person be expecting to do in Nigeria?
The abroad you are talking about, do you know that somebody with a City and Guild certificate in Telecoms, IT, Electrical, Electronics, etc can rise to become a supervisor and even manager (with some 6 months – 1 Year Associate certification in the managerial programs), this is impossible in Nigeria. No matter the numbers of years experience and up-to-date knowledge you have obtained, one little boy without any experience will just be employed to boss over you. Most times these graduates don't posses any practical knowledge and will be given contrary orders based on the theories they have studied. People have been employed based on extensive knowledge gained through hobby, not on any formal training and sometimes they are even made to head such departments. This can’t happen in Nigeria, they will quickly point out the degrees, the other person has which makes him to be more knowledgeable then the real technician. Even HND is looked down on with preference being placed on degree holders in technically oriented jobs.

In fact, that is one of the causes of our dying university system, as people who are not cut out for the rigorous studying system all started scrambling for degrees, when they would have been better of gaining hands on skills for field work. So degrees need to be got by hook or crook, plus the outdated topics being taught in the universities. Can you believe some Computer Engineering, Science students complete a four/five years course without being on computer for 72 hours, during the entire duration of the course, except those who have at home, or access to a pc elsewhere?

@ agitator, i didn't force myself on him.
In that case there is really something wrong somewhere, like somebody already pointed out.
Radiant:
Some men are good at spending on a woman but that doesn't equal respect.
This is quite true for most men who spend on women, they believe it’s their money that is keeping you and they can get any woman so desired. Plus, you must have given him that impression by you actions directly or indirectly.

Radiant:
Some of them do it just to shield your mind from his wicked acts.
From a man’s point of view, this is not common; it’s very few men that do this.

Radiant:
Anyway, let me ask you. Could you say you were happy with this man before this incident? Can you proudly testify that you've found happiness and not just a man to shelter and feed you?
These to me are very good questions you should have asked yourself before getting married to him.

On a final note, don’t make a man to pity you in any form of relationship or marriage. There should be love and make him to continually love you not to pity. Relationships and marriages based on pity don’t last whether it’s the lady pitying the guy or vice versa.

ladies thread?

for your information, most times there is no real love,  ladies just try by hook or crook to marry a man because he has money or they see him as someone to depend on financially.  After marriage they have to live with all the Poo from him.  I have witnessed it personally.

There was this girl about 19yrs, she followed her friend, who lives with the elder brother, home one day.  Along the way the girl told her that her brother is a womanizer, but on getting home the story changed, after about two days she came back home to meet the friend with her bro.  In two weeks time, she was living with them and even wanted to control the friend because she was now dating the elder bro.  To cut a long story short, she succeeded in driving out her friend from the house.  Later, she started seeing hell.  Babes will be waiting for him to return from work and later after changing cloths both of them will go out.

You've been watching too many movies o!

Anyway, your mental picture not bad.

The money just disappeared as if it was a pin, I'm convinced it was this new minute naira notes, much smaller than a pin

Has someone told them to check under the table?

Nigeria we hail thee!
It was confirmed from a reliable source (anonymous) that they checked under the table but still couldn't find it due to the minute nature of the new naira notes. They are currently waiting for presidential approval to hiire a high tech microscopic telescope at $100m/hour to assist in looking for it.

Do not say I told you oooooooooooh grin

It is said that "a drowning man will clutch at a straw."  The so called cabal have nothing else to hold on to against Jonathan.  Have anyone of you imagined when perfect English became a criteria for any political post.

Desperation has set in because they are losing relevance.  In a few weeks time, nobody will even mention the word "cabal" again.

Hi everyone,
i dont know if its just me or does anyone else think a 10 year difference between a guy and a lady is rather to wide?
I am 23 and i have this friend who wants to settle down with me. However he is 33, 10 years older than i am, and am a bit unconfortable with this.
though he said he plans to settle down dis year.
I am yet to formally update my parents on this but most other people that know this say there is nothing wrong with the age thing,
However i am not in a hurry to tie the not soon as am currently undergoing my masters and i wish to lay a foundation for a career soon after.,
I need to hear from neutral sources,
thanks everyone smiley
Comfortable being friends and possibly sleeping with him, but once he mentions marriage she remembers the age difference.  Best excuse to tell him she's not ready for marriage.

jennykadry:
are you minding her? she didnt even allow me land before crucifying me, all these insults she has been throwing at me, i just over looked it cos if i decide to reply back, the thread will be locked as usual

Look at these single women in their 30's, does she really think they r happy? 99% of them lost their missing rib all in the name of wanting to pursue a career , look at genevieve our actress, she laid a good foundation in her career, but which man wants her now that shes established herself?, look at kanu nwankwo, after dating all the doctors, lawyers and models, who did he end up with? a young girl who completed her studies in his home, why do you think omotola and her husband are together, you think it does not give her husband so much joy to know that his wife made her money in his house?look at our men now, they all run for women still in school, like my grand ma used to say,any woman dat does not get married or meet smone serious while she's still studying, will find it difficult to get one after studying

The truth is alot of these men dont wanna feel inferior or have a woman who looks like shes going to choose her career over family for a wife and when they meet a woman who is so career orientated, they are so scared of settling down with her,cos they think, shes going to be a dictator and not the follower

But who i'm i to advice her anways, she sees me as some silly lady with  no educational background, since shes got a good academic background, why is she asking for help here? she should be very intelligent and know how to deal with issues
This is not the type of advice she wants.  She already made up her mind, just looking for confirmation to reinforce her decision on way to go.

And this guy below will easily hit this babe if he knows her in person because he's a real casanova and understands what she wants.  Later she will cry her eyes out, when he abandons her for new game

webb jamie:
@jennykadry;just leave twinkle alone.she has set her priorities, which i think are in the right order. If she wants to continue her education that's fine cos i for one like my women educated and i believe my preference reflects that of a significant number of males across the globe. The brightest flower attracts the best insects, she will surely get a man.Besides, marryin @23 won't ensure a successful marriage.

There are so many professor in Iran, Pakistan, India, etc who don't speak English fluently yet they are way ahead of us.  What has English language got to do with a science inclined person.  Nigerians with misplaced priorities.  That's the why they ask people who want to study engineering to obtain a credit in English language whereas even in Britain and USA it is not so, students gain admission with a simple pass in English language, except you are a foreign student.

Most of our policy makers who now made credit  in English language a requirement for admission into the universities got admitted into the same universities with a pass likewise the social science/art based courses got admitted with a pass in Maths.

why is it that Nigerians always like to live a false life?  Recently a very popular telenovela aired on MyTV Africa from Philippines and showing people living in a dump site.  take note the movie was about Philippines produced by ABC-C, shot in Philippines and from my observation all actors where Filipinos.  In the movie the main heroine grew up in a dump and people living in the dump was shown repeatedly throughout the movie.

It's high time we get real and admit our shortcomings instead of living the false giant of Africa dream
