beespak7: The gsm companies should work hand in hand with the nigerian police to fight kidnapping , first the gsm companies should start with registration of all sim cards, then work together with the police to track these numbers with gps in cases of kidnaping. Just like a poster said earlier, the position of the kidnappers can be tracked to a 100meter radius which is much better than searching a whole state 4 the kidnappers. And with 199 police men swaming a 100meter radius and asking questions i bet you d kidnappers will be caught in no time.
Lastly the federal govt should make kidnapping a crime punnishable by death by firing squad in the villages of the guilty kidnappers and most importantly the kidnapers informants, and this should be shown on national tv 4 all to see, i bet you all that kidnapping will reduce to its barest minimum. Nigerians fear death more than anything sim registration will not solve this problem. Are cars not registered and yet robbers still use cars to steal. From a story posted on this site, somebody narrated how kidnappers used the one of the victims phone to make contact. Sometimes, people just reason that these people are not educated or plain dumb. They are not, most of these criminals are smart and feel they can't work for peanuts. So the police should always strive to be ahead of them. In the developed countries psychologist are employed as cops and they are well paid. |

My statement was based on the words you have been using to address people as a christian (Christlike) considering the teachings of our Lord Jesus Christ. Matthew 5:22 "But I tell you that anyone who is angry with his brother will be subject to judgment. Again, anyone who says to his brother, 'Raca,' is answerable to the Sanhedrin. But anyone who says, 'You fool!' will be in danger of the fire of hell." cryptic: Oh I see. You could not defend your master and as such decided to defame my character by asking such an inane question ? Now, what is it about my posts that suggests such ? Wouldn't your master(Tudor) and her followers kill these "so called men of God" if they had the opportunity to? Man I don't have time to waste on dumb, inconsequential people like you. Go get a life. cryptic: Thank God you know it is a complex issue. Your master taught you about the word dimwit abi ? Cause I know she consistently uses that word. I pity u. U dey suffer from acute mumuness cryptic: LOL. I am actually LMAO yOU only danced around the issue like your master(Tudor) always says. Answer the question Ode. U only responded to it because I dared you to. Answer the simple question. Oponu. Do you know what a protocell is ? By the way, wetin do your master ? Has She/He/It suddenly developed dementia ? Can't you figure she has been avoiding responding to my posts ? Mumu. Respond again. I am waiting for you to continue with exhibiting your asininity here. cryptic: This just depicts how shallow minded and dumb you are. If you take a look at that particular post, I subsequently talked about the said post. I said it was done for my younger brother who is resident in Nigeria. Now fool, if you are also smart, you'd find out that was the first post I made on Nairaland. Now take a look at when I became a member of Nairaland. I have been a member since 2005. I made that post for him because I felt this would be a better place to get up-to-date information about the mentioned school. I left naija when I was 15 with my elder sister who now lives in Tucson, AZ. Now fool, you said I made use of google and what have you. We all know that even with rich source of information on the internet, it would take only a pretty smart person to read and understand. That is not the case for me. I only intelligently backed up my points with references. Now fool, if you are a sound graduate, answer the simple question I asked. Make use of google or whatever you wanna use to give me a concrete answer let's see how smart you are. Well, if you cannot do that, you could also ask tudor(Your master) to save your a$S. Just in case you wanna come up with some excuse about the question, here is it. How do these organic compounds form a protocell ? Did you do Organic Chemistry in school ? Ode

Ikengawo: i was ashamed to read that part, everything else is highly insightful, i never thought PDP picks candidates, that's too simplistic and silly for a country as complexed as nigeria. the corruption in nigeria is very sophisticated and we're having a hard time tackling it because we underestimate it's workings and genius. I dont think EFCC arresting ppl here and there is going to do anything, i think technology and training has to be implemented at rates that surpass the any example set in the work because the nigerian criminal is craftier then any other criminal in the world. hope you are not expecting the government to finance the training? Most of your post and threads started implied government should just relax and be collecting taxes while individuals do the development including construction of roads. |

Exponental: After making the calls between lagos ibadan expressway, heading to ibadan, he drops the call, dispose the sim and make a u turn back to lagos. what will the telecommunication company do here. Mislead! better still they make calls at different locations far away from where the victims are. Confusion! Guys, the issue here is that THE STATE OF INSECURITY IN THE COUNTRY IS TOO HIGH. hen we have proper checks and balancings, then we can think of how to put other things in place, but for all this to happen, we need u and me to be actively responsible for our societies.
A If you like change sim card as many as you want, a phone can always be tracked. The GSM companies can listen to your conversation, read your text messages if they want to. But did the police ask them and they are giving excuse? Otherwise I don't see where governors should be criticizing these companies. If really our government can't get the GSM operators to cooperate, I wonder the type of national security program we have in place. |

austinooo: House, we are easily deceived in Nigeria, can you imagine that the whole lots of promises by startimes television that they offer a dishless decoder is fake, are you required to purchase a dish for the decoder I called their customer care and they told me to come and buy a special antenna from them for 3k. I must confess no interesting thing abt them. I feel sell my own if I get buyer Is the antenna a dish? most areas in Lagos are not getting good reception, Because they are using a mast same as NTA, AIT, etc, the farther away you are from the mast the poorer reception so you may need an external antenna. If you are close to a local tv station, the internal antenna that comes with your telly is okay for reception, but if farther away you are then an antenna is required. startimes television Startimes Television is using DTT technology, which is the latest being adopted worldwide even the local stations are expected to switch over to the new standard by end of 2012. |

Dolaapo: @ Pro Anti, if that's the case, then minimum wage should differ from states to states (increase according to cost of living), I will repeat 17k/month is ridiculously low for workers in naija. For those shouting that it is minimum wage and not living wage; what will you do if you were in that situation? I live in yankee, but i know how many people are suffering in naija, so please get of your freaking high horses and make research (or go home to experience it first hand), instead typing rubbish on the internet. So many people don't know or choose to ignore. Some people who are students their parents didn't send them to US and Britain on their minimum wage savings. The Ibos have a parable which says "a child on the mother's back doesn't know that the journey is far - Chinua Achebe" In USA & Britain, family members don't depend on you because you just got employed as a clerk, helper in a construction company, factory hand, etc. Graduates don't flood construction sites doing menial jobs for up to 3yrs and above. |

One may not even be sure is not a victim of police arresting error and refusal to close `case' at the police station level. I weep for naija I think it's capital punishment for armed robbery, and not the same for pen robbery, which only attracts a prison term. Plus most of the pen robbers can buy their way out and police don't arrest pen robbers (no evidence, even though all the money under the person's care disappears), armed-robbers(well armed). |
