Off ball development? Really? Like seriously? Of all things to grow in, off ball movements? Wat happened to possession? Skill on the ball? Shooting Accuracy? U are here talking of off ball movement. I am sorry but that is rather ludicrous
Baba take am easy...

The question was 'In what area has nacho improved since pep's arrival?' what you see up there are the only visible improvement I've seen. You can come up with yours.

shooting accuracy, techniques are natural to Iheanacho(everybody knows that even pep himself testifies to that). But skill on the ball, comes with game time which he is lacking in.

One question for you Sir.

In what area has Nacho improved since the arrival of Lord Guardiola huh is my concern and not to make the young man look hurrible.

If you go back the the previous threads to chech my comments. I was one person who never liked the idea of Nacho going to Man City. I had wanted him to go to Fc Porto.

Iheanacho himself confirmed it, that it was his Dad who convinced him to join Man City.

I am of the believe that if the lad had joined City it would have benefited his career more than City move.
If I may answer this question, I think Iheanacho has improved more on his 'off the ball movements' and with his latest interview he has learnt patience and perseverance which is a +ve character development.

Categorically speaking, Iheanacho has developed.

there is something I don't quite understandem,is it really true that Isa hayatou usually decides who wins APOTY after the voting must have taken place, let's say for instance Mikel have 300 points, and Yaya has 200 points after voting, can he decide to give it to Yaya?
So many things happen behind the scene.

There is this saying that goes thus(I'm not sure on how it is been put) 'A voter's vote doesn't count but those that count the votes that counts'

I don't really know if the voting is electronic(which I think we bring some transparency) and if so, it can still be manipulated to favour certain individual...

The problem is that CAF doesn't get fans across the continent to cast their votes and the only thing been made known to the public is results.

Hannover Striker Bazee Suffering From Hoffa Syndrome, Unlikely To Make Nigeria Debut

https://allnigeriasoccer.com/football_pics/71077Bazee.png

Noah Bazee is unlikely to make his competitive debut for the Super Eagles in their African Cup of Nations qualifier against South Africa in June.

Sportbuzzer has reported that Bazee is not suffering from an initially suspected mucus inflammation in the knee, but Hoffa-Kastert syndrome, and an operation has not been ruled out in the coming weeks.

Hannover coach Andre Breitenreiter confirmed as much at the press conference ahead of Saturday's game versus Erzgebirge Aue, stating that the young striker has been placed on the long-term injury list.

The news will come as a big blow to Nigeria coach Gernot Rohr as he has not hidden the fact that he plans to monitor him at close quarters during the national team's get-together in Corsica, before a potential competitive debut against Bafana Bafana.

Bazee, 20, has been inactive for Hannover since March 18 when he lasted 23 minutes on the pitch against FC St. Pauli.
He resumed training just before the Easter holidays but had to reduce the workouts with the team in the past few days.

Ilechukwu Berates PFA XI Without Moses , Tips Ndidi To Make Future All - Star Team

https://www.completesportsnigeria.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/IMG_20170420_213103_070.jpg

Mountain of Fire and Miracles FC coach, Fidelis Ilechukwu, believes Super Eagles duo of Victor Moses and Wilfred Ndidi have been fantastic for Chelsea and Leicester City respectively this seaso, but understands why both Nigerians were not named in the PFA all-star team, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.

The Professional Footballers Association on Thursday named the PFA Team of the Season which consisted of four Chelsea and four Tottenham Hotspur players.
The list also has a Liverpool, Manchester United and an Everton player on it.

"I think Victor Moses and Wilfred Ndidi have done a good job for their clubs so far. But perhaps you could say there are players who deserved it more," Ilechukwu told Completesportsnigeria.com.

"Moses is not a natural defender. He was converted to a wing-back at Chelsea by Antonio Conte, while Ndidi only joined Leicester City in January. The season began in August 2016.

"Politics is everywhere. I may not talk or argue much about Ndidi, but Moses is supposed to be among them because he has been one of Chelsea's best players this season. But I'm sure they can make such a team in the near future especially Ndidi."

Arsenal's duo of Alexis Sanchez and Manchester United's Zlatan Ibrahimovic were conspicuously missing from the lineup despite their huge roles at their clubs.

Sanchez has scored 19 Premier League goals while
Ibrahimovic has scored 28 goals in his maiden season in England.

PFA TEAM OF THE SEASON

David De Gea (Manchester United)

Kyle Walker (Tottenham Hotspur)

Danny Rose (Tottenham Hotspur)

David Luiz (Chelsea)

Gary Cahill (Chelsea)

N'golo Kante (Chelsea)

Dele Alli (Totenham)

Sadio Mane (Liverpool)

Eden Hazard (Chelsea)

Romelu Lukaku (Everton)

Harry Kane (Tottenham Hotspur)

There is no way Moses could have made the PFA team of the year despite his outstanding performance-considering the 4-4-2 formation been used in the selection of the best(main reason he was shut out) and not forgetting that he is a WB unlike Kyle and Danny who are natural full backs...

2018 World Cup Qualifiers: Door Not Closed On NPFL Stars - Rohr

By Augustine Akhilomen

Super Eagles technical adviser, Gernot Rohr has assured players of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) that the doors have not been closed on them as far as invitation to the senior national team is concern.

The German tactician was a special guest at the Agege Stadium, Lagos where he watched Stephen Odey's of Mountain of Fire Ministries (MFM) thrashed El Kanemi Warriors 3-0 on Sunday.

It will be recalled that Rohr had promised to watch Odey, who is the leading top scorer of the NPFL with 13 goals play on Sunday as part of his move to motivate the domestic players.

Having been criticised for the non-inclusion of the NPFL stars in his World Cup qualifying campaigns, where the Super Eagles are top of group B with six points after beating Zambia 2-1 and Algeria 3-1, the former Gabon gaffer told Soccernet.com.ng at the Agege Stadium after the match that the home based players must work hard to cement a place in his team.

"I must confess to you that there are great talents in the Nigeria Professional Football League going by what I saw here today. Both Mountain of Fire Ministries (MFM) and El Kanemi gave a good fight and played quality football. At least a few players impressed me so much of which I won't mention their names," Rohr told Soccernet.com.ng

"At some point I will invite the NPFL players to the team, however, my intention of sticking with the foreign professional was basically because I know majority of them and I want the best of players that will guarantee us the sole ticket for the 2018 FIFA World Cup. I don't want to jeopardize our chances of qualifying for the World Cup," he said.

Ikeme's injury persists

by Andrew Randa

Super Eagles goalkeeper Carl Ikeme is yet to recover from a niggling injury that might see him miss the rest of Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Wolves manager Paul Lambert told express.co.uk that Ikeme is definitely out of the game against Leeds United in the Championship (Wolves won 1-0 away at Elland Road) and isn’t sure Ikeme will play again this season.

"He'll definitely be out at Leeds. I'm not sure if he'll be back this season, it's not one where I'm thinking 'he's going to make it'. I'm not sure."Lambert revealed.

Ikeme’s injury meant he didn’t suit up for Nigeria’s international friendly against Senegal last month at The Hive in Barnet and might face a race against time for the Super Eagles first 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against South Africa in June.

The 30-year-old has played 31 teams for Wolves this season with eight clean sheets.

This guy and injury.

It is high time Rohr and his coaching crew find a long and lasting solution to our goalkeeping department.

He should be a backup and not our number 1 goalie.

It gets more scary when one as to admit the fact that Akpeyi is next in line.

My question is what has the goalkeeper trainner been doing since all this while? I haven't seen any notable input from him so far.

I hope he bounces back soon cos even presently I'm not happy with the names of clubs making offer for him and stuff like these can psychologically affect his development into a super player we want him to become.

Since Nacho offers more I think he deserves more. So I say he gets outta city and re-launch his career.

Chelsea Legend – Leicester City Ndidi Is Playing At Half His Potential

https://owngoalnigeria.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/image-56.jpg

Former Chelsea ace Celestine Babayaro says Wilfred Ndidi is yet to reach his full potential despite a whirlwind start to his career in England with Leicester City following his transfer from Genk of Belgium in January.

Ndidi has earned praises for his performances since joining the foxes for a fee in the region of 16 million pounds, but Babayaro believes Ndidi has more to offer the team when he finally settles down to life in the English Premier League.”

Some people will think he is playing his best football at the moment but to me , there’s more to his game, and in a not too distant future the world will get to see his true potential “, Babayaro told Owngoalnigeria.com”

When you watch Ndidi play, you clearly feel there’s something inside him that is yet to come out. It will come out soon because he is working really hard. He worked his way to the top in just 18 months.

A regular in the team of the champions of England at the age of 20 and just two years as a professional footballer, he will definitely get better”.

I was impressed with his performance against Atleti-he really held is own in the midfield winning back balls with clean tackles despite the ref killing d game with unnecessary calls.

If he can keep his head iow, I see him displacing Onazi in the SE sooner than we thought. Though he needs to improve his ballholding abilities and try venturing forward to make good use of rocket leg.

Nigeria Vs South Africa : Arsenal Chuba Akpom In, China Based Odion Ighalo Out Of AFCON 2019 Qualifiers Tie

https://owngoalnigeria.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/image-60.jpg

According to scoops gathered by Owngoalnigeria.com editorial crew, coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria Gernot Rohr has already drawn out names of players who are most likely going to be in the Super Eagles squad for the AFCON 2019 qualifiers tie against South Africa.

We gathered while there are doubts over Ola Aina making the squad as he is yet to fully commit himself to the Super Eagles of Nigeria, his fellow England youth international Chuba Akpom is set to be included in the squad.

Akpom’s inclusion will most likely come at the expense of Chanchung Yatai of China forward Odion Ighalo who has failed to justify his big money move to China from Watford , as he is yet to find the back of the net for his new side in four games.

Ighalo is on a goal drought which stretches back to his time at Watford, as his last goal came on the 10th of September 2016 where he found the back of the net in a 4-2 win for Watford over West Ham.

Although Akpom hasn’t fared any better with no goal in the 8 games he has played for his loan side Brighton & Hove Albion, Rohr views the 21 year old as a future prospect who could end up as one of the leaders of the team than Ighalo whose time with the team is coming to an end.

As much as I'm an advocate of capping foreign born players we need to understand that not all these boys are eagle's material and it will be better for us to leave these average players out than giving them 2-3run of games then dumping them.

Personally, I don't blame those turning us down de might feel they won't cut it in this present team.

We need to be cautious in our approach mostly, the media needs to be careful. It's not a do or die affair.

The future is the present.

If the old bricks are better than the new ones why build a house with new bricks that will fall down. Please let me use old antiquated bricks that will stand strong and not fall down.

The question is, are these so called young future quality potential football players who are playing in obscure low level leagues better than our tried and tested, proven quality experienced players.

Let players be selected on merit not future promised potential.

I remember when Rabui Ibrahim was widely hailed as the new JJay, Chrisantus as the new Yekini and others who all flattered to decieve dramatically.

Future potential is not enough, if I can win with old antiquated players please bring them. After all how old was Cameroons Roger Milla.

To be honest what we are calling youth in reality is not always youth. if we are to be truly honest with ourselves. Football age is still alive and kicking.

Don't u think these guys are even much older than the ages they claim considering that age cheating was rampant n d order of d day during their time?

These men have seen it all. They've played in practically all international competitions there is. They no longer have d hunger we see in young talented boys who are eager to make names for themselves in both home n abroad.

We need guys who are hungry for success and ready to give their all for the team knowing fully well that their careers depends on it.

I'm a bit skeptical on recalling our antiquated players.

The team is presently undergoing a true 'rebuilding process'. Incorporating old bricks will mar this project-going forward we must stick to youthfulness n vigor.

This is no attack on personalities. I like Obagoal. But he is not getting younger and I don't think he'll cut in if called upon. There generation has rendered their service to the nation. It's time we allow them to enjoy their retirements...

Let's start looking for capable feet either home or abroad who can deliver. presently we have more than enough in the attack and our major concerns should be our defence line... All four positions are still up for grab. We need strong backups for Leon(injury prone) and Ekong(currently sitting on d bench at his club) solid and versatile fullbacks- i think this should be worrying us more than calling some 'arugbos'.

But we must try out the formation in a friendly before considering it in an important tournament.

Concerning the 3-5-2, 3-4-3 formations.
I'm with Sir Icon4s on this.

Playing a 3 defenders, 2WBs in africa is risky. We don't have discipline players who can execute such tactics. Forget club football. National teams don't have enough time training, working out n perfecting things before matches-like what clubs have. These guys are mostly camped for a week and thats too small to teach dem d rudiments of such tactics.

Countries mostly play such setups in tournaments n not qualifiers-an example is d dutch team under d tutelage of LVG.

Apart from time n discipline factors, the intensity of african football is high. Even victor Moses who is arguably d best WB we have won't cope. Or may be u ppl are thinking he is going to pose the same performance we see him do every wk for Chelsea? I doubt t the Victor I know is not discipline enough in d green white green and to those suggesting Madu, Ndidi n so on for LWB na one eye i de use look una...

We better stick to our conventional formation of 4 defenders and twist whatever we want to twist in the midfield n attack if we no wan chop goals. e go do us like comedy that day cos me no even know d players we wan use execute am is it d ones who can't even command a starting shirt in their respective clubs-NO PROBLEM in PMB's voice.
(anyway, t will be an interesting match to watch).

So you think that having carried the Lions to the peak, Cameroun would allow Hugo Broos to go? No indication is given in the report as to any issue between the football federation of cameroun and Broos. Moreover would cameroun want to jeopardise for all time their shaky grip on the world cup qualifiers by letting Broos go when he has proved that he can perform magic? I doubt it.
The man can decide to leave(which I don't pray). You know it's better to leave the stage when d ovation is high.

Considering their present stands on the log. If he weighs their chances of qualification n he sees that it's slim(which is obvious). the wisest thing for him to do is resigning and now that another job offer is on d table.

I hope he gets the job. That would make our qualification easier....much easier.

First of all, any coach who can transform that Cameroun team into an AFCON winning team within a space of a few months is definitely a technically astute coach. And I wouldn't wanna face him.

Secondly, if Cameroun would start hiring a new coach a few months before they face us, that would give up a big competitive edge.

O pari
I hope he(H. Broos) stay on the job.

I do believe that preparation is 'a' step to success n
A known enemy is far better than unknown friend.

A reshuffling of the the camerounians coaching crew 'may' be our undoing as complacency will set in and will affect our preparation.

Remember the new coach will bring new, tactics, approach and players who will want to impress their fans...thereby making them hardnut to crack.

We should not be carried away with what happened wit the Algerians-this is Cameroun.

Chai!!!
After spending Billions of Dollars to host the games-I pity their citizens.

Third World Nations are the same-NO MAINTENANCE CULTURE.

Same thing with naija. Them go erect beautiful structures(from boreholes, roads to stadia, airports etc) without any plan for maintenance.

For a nation to be great(belong to the developed world) their orientation coupled with mentality in their perspective of Life needs to be change-greatness is simply a state of mind.
