If nacho will be going out on loan, bundesliga(Dortmund) or Seria A(A.C Milan) won't be a bad move for him. These teams are presently under little or no pressure to deliver the trophy which will give room for their coaches to twist things and try him out considering his prolificacy.
Moving on loan to top 5 teams in England(Che, Ars, Liv, Tot, Man u) as some are clamouring for might just pan out to be a waste of time.

Many managers have their choices, that does not make them bad. It just means the player can move up to better climes. Even the great Sir Alex Ferguson had his own, Mou etc.. So claiming he is a bad manager is really not fair. He does not Favour nacho, fine another coach will. Even Eto get him own o. So no be today. And your Madzukich claim has no backings. Before you can accuse him if such you need facts
Sir, don't get him wrong.
Pep is a good manager, an outstanding one for that matter and no one is disputing that fact.

But there is difference in been a "manager" and a "man manager". Man management is a virtue! It goes beyond signing d best player, winning trophies, making ur players buy ur football philosophies and so on.

A good man manager manages his players ego(especially the successful ones) both on and off the pitch, carries them along, integrate and make them put away their individual indifferences and always making placing the team ahead of his own achievement.

This attitude differentiate the Great from the Best.
Funny enough, Only few managers possesses this trait.

It has always been Mourinho's bane. Most of our local coaches are also found lacking in this area and is it has cost us 3 Afcon participation.
The bitter truth is that pep lacks this quality.

Look at Arsene, Simeone, sir. Alex, Jupp, and recently Conte. These men are amazing when t comes to man management-and look at how de command respect.

Baba, no one is attacking pep's personality-we're only pointing out his weakness.

I remember saying he is not a good man manager and TheGoodJoe went to the wires with me.

Behind that charming, handsome man on his shinny tuxedo, you have a very wicked man.
A man who didn't speak with Eto'o for a whole year. A striker who got him 35+ goals durring the season.
A man who benched Manzukich towards the end of the season, just to make sure he didn't end up winning the top goal scorer in Bundesliga.

I won't say more on this topic. I stand down.

Nacho's manager and his agent should do themselves a favour by asking for a loan move for d young man...

He shouldn't be left alone to keep drilling in d UK(as t will affect his confidence) and coming back home to do some pressing.
We need him to be in his blazing form...

But if things continue dis way, with d abundance of talents we've got I'm afraid Rohr maybe forced to drop him.

Good one there Sir Terzurum5.... smiley

Remember I spoke about this on the previous Super Eagles thread before we started this Dawn of a new era thread. smiley

I said we will witness different metamorphosis stages of our darling team as Post-Russia 2018 will lead to Afcon 2019, Afcon 2021 and Qatar 2022 and beyond (and each event must have their unique threads so that we keep things about out team well organised and well documented in this section for future references for upcoming generations).

I think we have two options:

1). Modify the topic slightly to include "Afcon 2019" as the afcon 2019 journey begins soon this year with the qualifiers

After which, post-Russia we create a brand new thread for the Afcon 2019 exclusively. After which more threads follow.

2). Create the Afcon 2019 thread "now" strictly for just nations cup news with respect to the Super Eagles as Russia 2018 marks our super eagles new generation "baptism of fire" on the international stage while Afcon 2019 which comes after Russia 2018 represents how far the team have matured in its quest to rule Africa for the next couple of years.

Either way, we must be out to organise the archival threads here on NL sports. That should be our goal so as not to cluster the information all into just one place.

As usual the final decisions rest with the elders and Super OPs::::

well, I'm in support of your first opinion. I personally, doesn't see any reason in creating multiple threads for the SE mostly this project not forgetting that we already have other threads created by our wonderful OPs for other NTs(male n female) not excluding d grade teams.

It is this kind of situation that lead to the gap the okochas and kanus left behind. We don't believe in giving youths the chance to prove themselves, if not for the vision of the coach people like iheanach and iwobi will not be ripe enough, the talented no 1s will fade out. We need to continuously invite young ones and try them. Remember that the real ages of these players is questionable. So we are bound to create another gap after these ones age
i couldn't stop laughing when I came across the word 'Ripe' for ur post.

I think d last time I heard t was during Oliseh's era. When our young promising talents mostly especially (Kelechi, Success etc) becomes fruit that needs to be given time to ripe even after their various clubs have been making juice out of them.

NFF Rejects Caf’s Request To Host 2017 U-17 Nations Cup

THE Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) may have turned down a request from the Confederation of African Football, CAF to bail it out and host the 2017 edition of the African U-17 Championship. CAF had last week stripped Madagascar of the right to host the championship even as it had not made any concrete arrangement for another host. A reliable source at the NFF informed Sports Vanguard in Abuja that on Monday the
federation received a letter from the continental body requesting it to bail it out by staging the competition scheduled to take place later in the year.
According to our source who did not want to be mentioned, the NFF who has been battling a nagging financial crunch did not waste time in declining the offer. “Yes we have received a letter from CAF but there is nothing we can do to help them because we know the prevailing situation in the country. The nation is presently in recession and it will be foolish on our part to begin to request the government to venture into
such. In fact that would have presented us in a very bad light before Nigerians.”The executive committee of CAF had met last Thursday in Libreville, Gabon and announced the withdrawal of the hosting right from Madagascar; a development many analysts believe is a way of getting back at the president of the Malagasy Football Federation, Ahmad Ahmad who is the only candidate that will contest the presidency of CAF with the age long incumbent, Issa Haytou. Hayatou a Cameroonian had been in charge of CAF since 1998 and despite a change of its bylaws last September to limit the tenure of its officers, CAF tactically left a window for him run again and if he expectedly wins, will be in
office till 2021.

My comment:

I personally feel the NFF should not have out rightly turned down the request. They could have at least first approached a few Corporate sponsors and or state governments to fund/invest in the fiesta. One or two states should be able to host the tourney. It is not a major tourney like the AFCON. Just 8 participating teams with at least 2 stadiums needed. Some states in Nigeria have up to 2 standard stadiums and there are some that need little funds to get them ready for such a competition. Or two neighboring states can come together and put up the show piece. Eg, Akwa-Ibom and Rivers, Akwa-Ibom and Cross River, Rivers and Bayelsa, Delta and Edo. Lagos state can even single handedly host it. Some of these states already have standard hotel accommodations and transportation system for such a fiesta including other logistics.

AND ULTIMATELY THIS COULD HAVE BEEN ANOTHER CHANCE FOR OUR GOLDEN EAGLETS sad
SMH...
Which kain officials we get for that glass house. De no de reason, de can't think outside d box, de lack negotiation skills, n so on.

They could have kept d offer waiting while de speak/negotiate with Akwa Ibom n Rivers state gov(this two states have a good pitch that have little to no need for refurbishment) and with some couples of private sponsors(I'm sure ppl like Ubah will love to help n im get stadium too)-n the hosting is a done deal.

What a wasted opportunity to grace d global stage of football!.

( See Picture) – Ex Chelsea Star Mikel Handed Captain Armband, Attacking Role & Iconic Number 10 Jersey By Tianjin Teda

https://owngoalnigeria.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/image-66.jpg

John Obi Mikel is having a good start to his career in China for his new side Tianjin Teda after 11 trophy laden years at Stamford Bridge with Chelsea.

Tianjin Teda have retired their number 12 jersey, the shirt number Mikel wore during his 11 years stay at Stamford Bridge, and the 29 year old jumped at the chance of once again wearing the number 10 jersey he has always love since his days as a youth international for Nigeria.

Mikel captained the team in their 2-6 friendly loss to German side St. Pauli, and in same game he found the back of the net for his new side in the iconic number 10 shirt and in his favourite role as an attacking midfielder.

The captain of the Super Eagles now plays just behind the main striker for his team, same role he plays for Nigeria in international games as opposed to the defensive midfield role he played during his time at Chelsea.

Already he has won over the coach of the Chinese side and the fans with his humble attitude despite his status as the biggest star in the team.

CAF Presidency: Madagascar FA boss challenges Hayatou

https://africanfootball.com/bp_images/2017/01/Issa_Hayatou_CAF_President_580x473.jpg
Issa Hayatou - CAF boss since 1988
by Samm Audu

CAF have confirmed Madagascar FA president Ahmad Ahmad will be the only candidate to challenge incumbent Issa Hayatou for the CAF presidency on March 16 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

The contest will be for the 2017-2021 tenure.
CAF have ruled that henceforth the maximum tenure is three terms of four years each for the President.

The 70-year-old Hayatou from Cameroon has been CAF President since 1988. He was acting FIFA President in 2016 when Sepp Blatter was banned.

In 2015, CAF decided that officials could serve beyond the age of 70, which has now paved the way for Hayatou to contest again.

CAF executive committee member Ahmad is in his third period as Madagascar FA boss.
He will not contest to retain his Southern Zone seat on the CAF excos.

In other elections in March, Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) president Amaju Pinnick will battle incumbent Moucharafou Anjorin of Benin Republic in West Zone B.

Pinnick’s nomination has been shrouded in controversy after members of his executive committee alleged he did not carry them along before this decision was taken.

The Nigerian government also said they will set up a committee to recommend “a suitable candidate” to represent the country.

Ghana’s Kwesi Nyantakyi will face-off with Kalusha Bwalya of Zambia and Leodegar Tenga from Zambia in the Anglophone group for a place on the FIFA Council.
