Congratulations to you, my brother. Akannitommy: FINAL PPR ALERT, it has ended in massive praises! Alhamdulilah!!
We received PPR for the remaining members of my family earlier today and also got a travel restriction exemption authorization approval for my 2 year old son. After we waited for two weeks after the first set of PPR for my daughters, we decided to send their passports on Monday to Abuja. We did to avoid the pitfall of missing 30-days deadline for submitting passports. The passports were delivered on Wednesday due to Tuesday holiday. Counterfoil for the girls were updated on the portal Friday and DHL picked up stamped passport same day - tracking shows it is en-route to Lagos. We woke up to receive PPR for my wife and son this morning, as well as a travel authorization for ONLY our son - since he applied for visitor and we also applied for the travel restriction exemption twice. The letter of introduction for the girls dropped too.
We are juggling many things right now and the logistics are crazy. I pray that everyone waiting for their PPR gets it soonest. I understand what you all are going through because I was in the same boat for over 5 months and I not unaware that several more have been waiting longer. Hang in there, be hopeful. Your time will come very soon. It has finally ended in praises. Many thanks to everyone who rendered assistance in one way or another on this platform in this journey. You are all too many to list but you know thy selves and the Almighty God know you even more. Your rewards will be in multi-folds and bountiful. Also, I am grateful for the emotional support everyone provided all through the process.
Again, it has ended in praises!! Alhamdulilah!!
See updated timeline below:
15th May - Application submission with upfront medicals for 3 out of 4 (All 3 had April 2021 passport expiry dates) 19th May - Medicals for Spouse and two kids (student permits) updated to passed 25th May - Wife completed bio-metric while kids didn't due to minor ages 3 months - Nothing; not even ghost update. Focused on passport renewal process and NIN reconciliation wahala. 18th August - Sent Nairobi inquiry email and got normal auto-response immediately 19th August - Nairobi replied my inquiry saying the usual stuff - under active review & unable to say when to finalize 19th August - Applied for GCMS notes for all 26th August - Applied for written travel authorization exemption (WTRE) for all 4th September - Emailed MP office covering my residential area 5th September - Emailed MP office covering my school area 8th September - Senior Advisor (staff) to MP covering my house replied - " I should reach out in 2 weeks if I haven’t received anything......." 9th September - Eligibility review commenced -- no ghost update - just random login and saw it 10th September - Received medical request for 2 year old son (who didn't do upfront medical since it was visitor visa for him). 10th September - 3 emails responses per travel authorization application - one shows son's WTRE is authorized & others tagged "courtesy" 17th September - Completed son's medical exam and uploaded result via webform and emails to Nairobi - no reply. 26th September - Son's medical updated to passed 6th October - Received PPR for daughters' study permit applications. 18th October - Sent daughters' passports to Abuja using DHL return service
18th October - Same day after I had sent 2 passports, the MP's office replied my umpteenth inquiry saying that "regarding the progress of requests, they are all linked and processed together. Verification of eligibility and medical results was accepted. The next step concerns the final decision which must be rendered (we do not have the date). Regarding your second question, I spoke with an IRCC agent who told me that you could send the 4 passports together by putting an explanatory letter explaining that it is easier financially and logistically to do like this and there shouldn't be any problem, but don't hang around in sending passports."
18th October - I replied MP's office that I had sent 2 passports and that I wouldn't want to risk sending all four because am not sure someone won't mix things up just because there was not PPR for 2 of the passports. In my experience, most people who work in customer service etc behave like robots lacking latitude to apply discretion in sensitive or unfamiliar situation. I didn't want anyone to use me as experiment.
22nd October - Daughters' profile showed counterfoil have been issued - visa stamped - expiry date is 4 months earlier than my own expiry date. No problem because that is valid for 2 years essentially.
23rd October - PPR for my wife and son dropped along with travel restriction exemption approval for my son & the girl's letter of intro.
The grace and joy shall go round by the special grace of God Almighty. |

Congratulations to you in advance. Ufedoo: Hello everyone,
I have been a silent follower and have gained so much from here. I just had to join the platform today. Thank you to everyone for sharing their experiences and knowledge for us to learn from.
I applied for sowp through an agent on the 3rd of March as hubby is in Canada for a 1 yr program that will end in December. We also got the silent treatment from IRCC until I started sending mails last month with ''urgent'' as the subject. I got a response from them saying correspondence regarding my file is directed exclusively to my representative (the agent). The agent advised us not to send more mails.
We also requested for my gcms note in August which dropped yesterday. And the status of the TR shows ...in progress. Under assessment on the 2nd page, medical passed, biometric complete, criminality passed, info sharing complete, eligibility passed. Not sure what it means or if i translated accurately though.
Please what pages are important asides from the last 2 or 3 pages with the Notes?
Kindly advise |

Wow, congratulations to you and your family once again. Akannitommy: Following yesterday's update, we received medical request at 5:00am (Canadian time) this morning for our son who applied for visitor visa, along with the family (SOWP for wife and Study permit for older siblings). Any tips/plugs/slots on how to achieve this quickly? NB: his visa type was due to his age (under 2 years) while the others passed their own medicals same week as the application was submitted back in May. |

@MzMisty, Oga o, which office is handling your application? Lagos or Nairobi? Well, from my research, if Nairobi is processing your application and you receive this type of email from them, it seems your application is not being finalized yet. If I were you, I will call IRCC Agent on +18882422100 to ascertain both the primary and secondary offices processing my application. Please note that calling an IRCC agent is only accessible to the people in Canada, but there are ingenious and expensive ways people from outside Canada do it. Of course the IRCC Call Centers do not have access to applications that are being processed outside Canada, but they can help you confirm both the primary and the secondary offices handling your application. This will guide you on where to properly channel your follow-up emails. Best of luck and Congratulations to you in advance. MzMisty: Hi Guys,
I hope you are enjoying the public holiday.
Please help analyze this email I got today from Nairobi in response to my email on the status of my application. I have gotten the "your application has been received and is in process" from the Lagos office and "application under active review" from Nairobi on several occasions.
This is the first lengthy email I have received from them. Please any suggestions on what this could mean?
Thank you. |

@Psychosocial, Wow, what could be the problem? Did you follow the instructions contained in the document I attached herein? Please send me an email through my signature. Psychosocial: Please guys, I need help o.
My PPR package has been refused twice by the VAC, without any reason at all. I enclosed my passport along with all the required documents, and proof of payment of the Transmission Fee, and addressed it to the Abuja VAC office. I paid for a return-courier via UPS. Funny thing is the package easn't even opened before it was refused, so I cannot know what the exact problem is. Even reaching the VAC by phone is almost impossible because the call goes off once you select the option of speaking with an agent. The email I sent when the package was refused initially has still not been replied. This is quite a strange case.
Apart from trying a different courier service, is there anything I can do differently??

@Majemitee, This is FYI. OduntanMofe: Good day house. YOU CAN NOW GET MYBANK STATEMENT TICKET FROM FIRST BANK.
Go to the nearest branch, request to see the customer service. They might not understand you since First Bank is new to the platform. Tell them to send a mail to FirstContact requesting you need your account sent to the canadian embassy.
The headquarters know what to do and they will process it within 2 days. Your sponsor would be requested to fill a document and pay a fee of N1000.
Simple as that. I found out people have been experiencing this issue so I decided to share.
Goodluck! |

@MsJanez01, If your application is being processed at Kenya office, I think you should believe them. However, I see that you are resuming in May. With this, you can mount pressure on the Kenya office to kindly fastrack your application. Aside from exceeded processing time, due date for tuition fee payment and close resumption dates are other good reasons to seek expeditions processing of a study permit application. Best of luck to you and other applicants expecting good news. MsJanez01: Congratulation!! Hmmm.. I'm interested in this your mail acknowledgement analysis. I've received 2 mails so far. The one from Kenya April 14th had "active review" while the one from Beijing April 16th had "In process". I hope this your analysis is through ooo... lol. |

###### LONG POST ALERT ######
It’s Testimony Time
Guys, I wish to share my success story in order to encourage others who have been delayed. First of all, I thank Mr. Frankrobbn1, Mr. JustMellow, Mr. Lekiboboe, and other contributors for their selfless services here. I also appreciate some people who have been trying to answer questions in the absence of the gurus, but most times your answers are wrong and misleading.
Secondly, I like to thank Mr. Frankrobbn1 again because he made efforts to ensure I get approved this time, after 2 previous attempts. He is truly a guru. From the choice of course, to choosing the University, including review of LOE & IMM forms, with covering all possible refusal technicalities in my LOE. I appreciate your help, Mr. Frankrobbn1, Almighty Allah will bless you.
1st Application - Online (Did it myself)
- Course: Post-Bachelor Certificate in Accounting. - School: University of Lethbridge, Alberta - Sponsorship: Self - Application submitted – October 9, 2019 - Application refused – November 6, 2019 - Refusal reasons: Family ties and Employment situation
2nd Application - Online (Done by a Canadian Immigration Lawyer)
- Course: Post-Bachelor Certificate in Accounting. - School: University of Lethbridge, Alberta - Sponsorship: Self - Application submitted – November 29, 2019 - Application refused – January 28, 2020 - Refusal reasons: Family ties and Purpose of visit - GCMS Notes: No evidence on file of PA’s acceptance to Master of Accounting as stated (VO made a mistake here and we pointed it out in the new LOE), and the Applicant’s plans of study appear vague and poorly documented.
3rd (Approved) Application - Online (With all NSE documents)
- Course changed to: Master of Management – International Accounting & Finance - School changed to: University of Windsor, Ontario - Sponsorship: Self - Intake: September 2021, but was changed to May 2021 while my application was in progress - Application submitted – February 10, 2021 - Submission confirmation – February 10, 2021 - Upfront medical approved – February 16, 2021 - Eligibility review started – February 17, 2021 - Ghost update 1 – February 24, 2021 - Ghost update 2 – February 26, 2021 - Ghost update 3 – March 3, 2021 (GCMS shows that LOA was confirmed this date) - New LOA for May 2021 – March 19, 2021, sent via IRCC & Kenya Webforms March 20 - Follow-up emails – Started March 22, 2021, twice a week to Kenya, later to London, and Beijing. - Email acknowledgement – Received once only from Kenya on March 22 with application still in process. I realized there are 2 types of acknowledgements: (1) Active review: if you receive this, then your application is not almost finalized yet, (2) In process: this means your application is in advanced stage. - Ordered GCMS notes (through a colleague in Canada, I think it’s faster this way) – March 31, 2021 - PPR & BVL Received – April 12, 2021 - Passport received by VFS Abuja – April 15, 2021 - Passport stamped and Counterfoil received – April 15, 2021 - UPS picked up passport – April 15, 2021 - LOI received – April 16, 2021 - UPS delivered passport – April 19, 2021 - GCMS received – April 19, 2021 - Application Visa Office: Nairobi Primary & Windsor Secondary, but application was finalized by Lagos. PPR & LOI came from Lagos.
Lessons learnt: (1) Career progression is very important, (2) Significance of fund and its accessibility cannot be over emphasized, (3) Home ties carry heavy weight, especially family/economic/volunteering, etc (4) Travel history is an added advantage for matured students like me (40+), Lagos VO acknowledged this in the GCMS notes.
Documents Submitted
(1) Client Information (with a table of content) - Letter of Explanations (7 pages) - Education certificates & transcripts - CV - Employment documents (past & present), including awards & pay stubs for present job - Statements for liquidated Investments to back up 2 huge lump sums (this is very important) - My wife’s letter of introduction & support, Marriage certificate, kids’ birth certificates, wife & kids’ NIN documents, wife & kids’ passports & visas, Family & wedding pictures - Investment document in my wife’s name to show money will be available for the welfare of my family when I am away - CAC documents for my businesses - Professional certificates, including copies of Financial Statements I have signed before - Documents to support volunteering activities, both religion & sports - My Car document - Travel history documents, old passports with visa & stamps - NSE documents
(2) Proof of Fund (with a table of content) - $4 CAD tuition fee deposit - 1 year MyBank Statement Certificate - 1 year regular Bank statement with fund more than my entire tuition fee + LE + Miscellaneous - Pension RSA Statement with reasonable balance - Investment letter in my wife’s name - Documents for Residential Properties with Valuation reports and proof of rental Income
(3) All the 3 IRCC Forms (Well reviewed by Mr. Frank)
Parting notes (1) Prospective applicants must be patient (2) Do not disturb IRCC office if your application has not exceeded processing time or your resumption date is not approaching or your tuition payment deadline is not due soon (3) It seems Airlines from India & Pakistan aren’t allowed to enter Canada now, so IRCC may shift attention to the Applications from Nigeria, please get set for your good news (4) Endeavour to go the way of NSE (5) I feel sad when I read negative comments about Nigeria here, please let’s stop it. It will come to haunt you or other Nigerians. Every country has her challenges, please let’s speak well of our country
BEST OF LUCK TO EVERYONE AWAITING GOOD NEWS |

I doubt the possibility of the DLI cooperating if the third party isn't a designated representative. A Master program could take up to 5 months in U of S and/or in general. The two means you have now is the email or phone contact.
