By regulation, hotels are required to keep a register of all their guests. The first thing guests do once payment is made before being handed the key to the room, is to fill a form that has all their details. So, this story of the owner not knowing he lodged in the hotel is not flying, except if they deliberately don't keep such records for specific reasons. The area where the body was found should be ransacked. I believe there would be other bodies there. It's not their first time.

Is looting the only crime that is committed in South Africa? Let us be honest, few of our people are involved in certain types of crimes in South Africa. They only need to focus on those and deport them if they are found committing crime. Not a question of being lazy. It's more than that. What one can never be, one wouldn't be, no matter one's effort. I had a high school mate, in fact two of them super brilliant kids. Both were very competitive and ended up as medical students at Unilag. Sadly one passed away just like that, not accident or anything crazy. The other became a successful medical doctor. That's life journey for you.

Trust no professional journalist in Nigeria. It is only Omoyele Sowore I can trust because I know his pedigree since the days he used to work with a platform called Elena's Report in early 2000s. Then the owner of the platform quickly turn it to political consultancy for Nija government officials. That's what forced Sowore to go form his own platform called Saharareporters.

Apparently you don't understand how it work. Every aspect of traditional technology are very specific. The nature of metal like iron or lead is different from glass or wood. Every object has a name in nature. It is that understanding and knowledge that they use in developing those fortification.. For the most of it, when I used bolt, I paid more than the app requested because I felt the struggles of maneuvering our roads and the time some of the drive took. Leave it to your passengers to treat you fairly in terms of tipping you rather than making paltry sums of N500 through cheating.

Who is still using yellow taxis in Lagos or Abuja? You are still waiting on the side of the road for taxi in this age? More so, you are getting a ride with a driver that has his data with Uber or Bolt. If something go wrong, he/she can be traced. Where are you going to find a criminal yellow taxi driver? Or you are not based in Nigeria? Even with that Yellow cab is not worth it. They are often dirty, take too long to arrive, and the driver always expect you to tip. Not with Uber.

Most professional jobs in developed countries require you to register with the professional body, this is applicable in my engineering field, in my wife's medical field.

I wonder the job a Canadian company would need to hire a foreigner without the foreign professional not being screened to know if his or her education and experience matches that of Canada to show he can deliver on the job according to Canadian standard.

Too much self doubts among Nigerian youths. Things are not as complicated as you guys are painting it. First, the guy didn't state that he is an engineer or medical doctor. Jobs at entry level are often not offered on the basis of being a member of a professional body. Even mid-level jobs for someone moving from another field, it is often clearly stated if you need to be member of a professional body. For someone coming from another country, it will only be possible on arrival after starting work. And this only apply to professional jobs like engineering and others.

What a comment. You are God that can read the mind of people and see all their acts. Like America, Canada bring in a lot of skilled migrants and give them job offer directly from their home countries. The same way brilliant Nigerians are offered scholarships to come do masters or PhD in Canada, it's possible to get job offer directly if you have an impressive CV. No Canadian company will ask you to pay a fee or anything. Make sure you get an offer letter that state your salary and job conditions. Ignore all the negative comments here but not the logical critiques. If you wish, only discuss about the possibility of the company applying for permanent residency status for you after they issue your offer letter. It is not essential for the company to apply for you because the government already have a program in place for foreign skilled workers already working in Canada. Go check the Canadian Citizenship and Immigration agency website as I advised earlier, and look for the pages for skilled workers wanting to migrate to Canada.

I currently work in a company and my monthly take home is 210k. A friend helped me to apply for a Job in Canada, I did the interview Last Month and I was sent a congratulatry message Yesterday from the Company to start work in Canada.

Quite surprised you got a job offer from Nigeria. Are you sure the employer know you are based in Nigeria because you claimed your friend in New York applied for you. If the job offer is genuine and you have been honest about all your claims in your CV and during the interview, you have nothing to fear. The only hurdle left is to get a visa, which you would most likely get. Canada bring in a lot of skilled migrants every year. Since it's the job that is the reason of your going to Canada, your must remain employed to keep your temporary residential status until you have a permanent residence status. There are options to apply for permanent residency once you get there and it should be something you should be prepared for even before leaving Nigeria. Go to the website of the Canadian Citizenship and Immigration agency to learn of the requirements so that you have all the documents with you even before stepping out of Nigeria. If you have someone close to your heart that you are 100% sure will be your heartthrob in the future, the moment you get your visa, go tie the nut at the registry, so that you can include her name as your spouse in all the residency application documents.

This advise is coming from someone who lived in Canada for close to a decade and still maintain strong ties with Canada. And finally, Canadians are generally good people that are much better to relate with than Americans. There is some level of racism but not the extreme level of racism in America. Crime level is generally low except in cities like Toronto and Vancouver.

Fact. I should narrate an experience that support this. A younger brother of a friend decided to take possession of several coolers I left in care of my younger brother who was staying in same building with him. After so much pleading to everyone to produce the items, nothing came out of it. Then his ex-wife who was glad to "tell on him", secretly told my brother that it was his husband who took the items and that he actually gave her one of the coolers. Without telling him what he knew, my brother went again to plead with him that whoever took the items should return them. He still didn't budge. But the moment my brother said he would be going to use traditional means to find whoever stole the items, the guy produced the coolers in less than 24hrs, including the one he gave his ex-wife. What's the lesson here? That God who understands the nature of Black man gave us all these traditional knowledge to use to administer our societies. Because black man has a stubborn "spirit" and "mumu" mindset. But in our stupidity we threw those knowledge away and even use them to do evil.
