bolanto24: Northerners everywhere. The level of nepotism in this government is sickening.
The thing to look at is, what is the full composition of the Appeal Court judges? The SE already had their full allocation under GEJ as they had filled their quota, so the last one only replaces the one lost by the SE geo-political zone.
So the areas that have higher numbers are just now getting their positions filled. All appointments are to be taken in totality and not in isolation.
Agbegbaorogboye: I should use Google for a field I'm presently working in? Are you serious?
If you actually are, you'd not write such stuff that you wrote there.
BTW, persons installing cell towers are not in the industry, they are simply workers. The persons in the industry are the IT folks that write the codes and know how these towers actually provide the services that they give to users.
Agbegbaorogboye: So how does NIN-SIM linkage help when the person receiving your call is not seeing your number. Or do you think it's NIN-SIM linkage that will tell telcos who is using a particular line?
Once the security services are interested, they will know who called you, even if the number is hidden. And from the person's SIM-NIN linked details then such a person can be picked up.
We all leave digital footprints as we go about our normal business. Once your NIN is know, your bank account is know, your friends and family can be traced. You become an easy person of interest.
Agbegbaorogboye: Lol. @all other SIMs that utilise same cell towers being tracked and apprehended. So you're going to track and apprehend all SIMs in a fifteen kilometre square? Are you really serious?
Spend time to use your data to Google, read and learn so that my first statement will not apply to you.
Agbegbaorogboye: Read the story again. NIN and SIM can only be used if your number is known. All I have to do is put my number to private or even use some call masking software and your NIN-SIM linkage is useless. I told people when Pantami was engaging in that propaganda to deflect from his terroristic past. Satellite imaging and geopositioning is what can be effective in tracking criminals. But is this govt even serious about tracking criminals esp bandits?
When you put your number as private, it is not that the cell tower does not know that it is you, it is that you instructed the cell tower/Telco not to display your number to the receiver of your phone.
So even if you hide your number on a MTN line to call an Airtel number, both MTN and Airtel will receive your SIM identifier but Airtel is instructed not to display your number to the receiver. Therefore, making a private call does not hide you from persons interested in finding you.
Too many persons parade a "PhD" or "Prof" but display such baffling arrogance of ignorance.
The Govt did not say it will guarantee an elimination of kidnapping/criminality, it only provides avenue for tracing and tracking of such criminals during or after the event. Even if the kidnappers were to use the victims phone, they can still be tracked and all other SIMs that utilised the same cell tower at those periods can be traced and their owners apprehended.
Thus NIN-SIM integration is a great idea and is the norm across the world.
LaEvilIMiss: Hopefully it will foreclose on the proposed $6 billion for election database and additional data capture requirements abi?
Different things. The N6 Billion or whatever for elections are different from the NIN infrastructure. It will be linked, but will most likely be done in the background. As things evolve, no one will be able to register for elections without NIN or Voters Register would be updated through the NIN infrastructure.
okorogodwin4: We will continue to deceive our self in these country in policies that will never work
DO not worry, your eye will clear when you find out how effective it becomes as all things are linked. And you will envy those that receive seamless services based on it.
ny1234: You want NIN to be linked to your voters register? You want it to be linked to your licenses? NIN was not created to help you but to enslave you, that number that is tied to you will be used to track and deny you services when the evil government unveil it's true purpose. You will lose your right to protest bad polices or criticize the government.
NIN program is a smoke screen to implement the beast system (fascist totalitarian state). It is DNA harvesting scheme implemented for globalists.
If nothing is done to stop it, then it is only a matter of time. May God deliver Nigeria.
All saner climes have social security or citizen identifiers, and it facilitates their rights to protest. It is the same implementation in Nigeria, it is for integration and delivery of seamless services to Nigerians.
Using it for your Drivers License ensures that you only have to provide the NIN, pass the test and you get your DL.
Also think of all the positives that people cannot just disappear anymore as they will immediately be identified when they open an account, rent an apartment or start a new work. Criminals will think twice as crime becomes harder to get away with.
ironheart: When a new government comes into power this initiative may be abandoned and money spent would have been wasted
The NIN has come to stay! It is the main identifier for ALL Nigerians and will be the basis upon which planning and development for the nation. Also, social services will be tied to it, which will improve security across board.
As a matter of fact, BVN will soon disappear and be discontinued as NIN will take over its purposes.
Therefore, there will be no reason to cancel this.
bigtt76: I agree with your points absolutely, it would help drive down the exchange rates but it's also dependent on the equilibrium between the foreign reserve and the in flows.
Mind you, the IMTOs are not flying in the forex to be disbursed (it would increase the wait time if the banks have to defend on this) so what they do is get from CBN and fulfill the demands locally at a cost to CBN.
I still don't see the need paying out the dollars locally or even allocating to the BDCs. I don't know of any country that does this though
Rather what the CBN would've done if they wish to allow dollar cash outs, mandate that the cash outs is done through the BDCs (they are the regulated black marketers of our time) who will in turn, either return it back to their bank accounts or sell to businesses.
The money changer out there won't resell at a loss, so where's the gain?
I am totally aligned with your skepticism, however to prevent the sales at a loss, the BDC/BM will drop the exchange rates offered to people.
The IMTOs would have to credit the Foreign Reserve account of Nigeria with the equivalent USD amount since the payout is now in USD, thus CBN is only paying out what it has received and will continue to utilise its own USD for the official transactions. As more USD comes into play, the USD will have to find itself back to the banks.
The big elephant that no one is talking about is Domiciliary Accounts!!! Which other country allows ALL citizens to keep money in foreign currencies in their banks? That anyone can decide to bet against the Naira by purchasing USD and keeping in the bank, which adds no value to the economy, is the biggest travesty of the economy I have seen.
1. It's recognizing the black market and legit helping to channel forex there.
2. The black market would get saturated at a point in time because no business man or woman would go there to source forex for business and the black marketers would not sell to the banks at the CBN rate
3. Naira in circulation would be mopped up at a point in time resulting in the dollarization of the economy (no one would want tk be paid in naira)
4. At the end of the day, beneficiaries would have no option but to exchange with the banks or hoard in their domiciliary accounts.
Except that persons receiving USD would also need to buy things, pay for stuff and generally continue living which is what majority of diaspora remittances are for.
So when the son sends money to the Mum, the Mum cannot afford to keep it under the bed or in a dom accounts as she has to live, buy food, pay rent, transport and pay for medicals. At that point, there would also be more USD looking for avenues to be changed to Naira.
Hopefully, that will drive the exchange rate down. Do not also forget that at this yuletide period, as more diasporas come home, they'd also need to change the USD to Naira to pay for hotels. And if hotels will have lower rates than BDC/Black Market too.
Haba... u def don’t have families reading nairaland cos if you do, they’d have disowned u for the level of madness ure exhibiting here...
98% of comments here can see that the govt and military are hiding the truth with so many contradictory lies but less than 2% comments here which ure among is on the side of the govt and army...
It’s not just madness... generational curse don join am
The truth is not determined by the number of persons that believe it. A group of fools will still be less useless than a single sane person.
If after 38 days, that we are still looking for evidences of a massacre or the dead should be a pointer to your illogical reasoning.
Thefxchanger: Ure a slowpoke once again... the area in question isn’t that wide.. it’s just the tollgate portion we are talking about ... not the whole of the road ...
The protesters were ambushed into a spot and they sat down there before the shooting started... u even saw the video showing they were barricaded into a spot before the shooting started ... everyone started scampering for safety when they realized the soldiers weren’t as friendly as they thought...
Stop this ur madness pls... people who know you will be ashamed ure still supporting ur paymasters even when they themselves are sounding stupid and mad
It is obvious you have no clue, and unwilling to learn.
This same Dj switch ure quoting stated that they were dispersed at a point and everyone ran for their lives and also at a point she went to the hospital where wounded were being treated... still you don’t have sense to realize that the soldiers could have done whatever they wanted to do during the period everyone was successfully dispersed ?
You really have no understanding about how wide the area is or what it takes to clean up such an area of human remains evidences.
Please stick to games, football and season movies, your education hasn't started, you only went to school.
Which drone ? All videos came from eyewitnesses and of course you don’t expect the soldiers to clean the mess until they successfully dispersed them totally late in the night... and of course you won’t know that cos you’re dumb...
The only footages (those from LCC hidden cameras) that could have given us the hard evidences miraculously stopped working few minutes after soldiers arrived ...
You know this but your head isn’t correct enough to accept
You know the stupidity is this your assertion still hasn't hit you! Did DJSwitch not say the soldiers left after a while? So how did the same soldiers that left clean the floor? And while this cleaning was ongoing, those brave souls that were making videos for hours couldn't capture any of it? Those that stayed till late also couldn't capture any of it?
Bros, "drone" refer to Unmanned Aerial Objects, there are many commercial and personal use drones available, and there are footages of the incident taken via drones just as some took via cellphones! I am gob smacked that you do not even know this.
jidxin: oga you lack knowledge jàre... You don't know anything... Computer village ko digital Village nii. Please always have your facts right before engaging anyone in a discussion it will only show how berieve of idea you are. I stand to be corrected that you can edit a live footage of an application that you didn't create.
It is people like you that run away from the acquisition of knowledge, and then turn round to say there are no jobs. You are just unteachable.
Thefxchanger: Obviously you can’t reason beyond your iq...
Did you not see and hear they kept pushing them backwards and eventually dispersed them before morning ... did you not see the video when they came back in the morning and still were being shot at?
Oh you think the people that planned this evil didn’t plan all the clean up along ? Even if u don’t watch movies, U shld have sense ...
I’d ask you one last question...
Ur paymaster agreed people had gunshot injuries but no one died right? How is the bloods of the injured not on the floor?
If u know the answer, then you can explain how the blood of the dead isn’t on the floor ...
Apply sense before responding to people who can school your generations
You are appearing to be too dense to be reasoned with.
So in the videos, drone footages and many persons being at the site, the army or police were busy cleaning the floor of the Lekki Toll Gate? I am sure they also came with masons to repair off all the bullet holes on the infrastructure too.
The Governor has repeatedly it many times. Of 2 casualties he saw at the hospital, 1 was a BLUNT FORCE injury while the other suffered his gunshot wound at ADMIRALTY WAY, Lekki.
It is obvious you one have no capacity to think things through, and secondly, you do not understand that you can Google the effects of an AK47 bullet on humans, so that you'd have understood why the absence of blood on the floor is quite significant.
Thefxchanger: Now I know ure a retard... so with all the videos we saw and live IG u saw, u didn’t see injured people with blood stains ? And yes, their blood will be on the ground...
I simply told u the same reason u can’t find blood of the injured on the floor is the same reason U didn’t see blood of the dead and their bodies the morning when you woke up...
U think the soldiers who did this want any evidence left behind?
Right from the point of removing lights and turning off the cctv...
Even the llc came out to claim their cameras stopped working right abt moments before the shooting started... how stupid for someone to hear this and still doesn’t know there is a big cover out
Your mumuness is divine
So in your mind, the soldiers after all the shooting, they now brought out soap and bleach and started cleaning the floor of the Lekki Toll Gate. And all teh time they were doing this, DJSwitch and others did not see them, did not capture them on the "live" video.
jidxin: wow wow sorry ooo like I'm so bemused, I'm short of word, how did you find yourself on Nairaland, my mind was telling me that you were about to say bullcrap. Instagram Live can only broadcast a live event just like Facebook live. It's quite different from a telecasted broadcast where you have time to edit, Instagram cannot air any other thing except live footage. You need to be familiar with this app before engaging learned people in any kinda discussion.
You are a dolt. You do not even understand the concept of "Live" to now understand what a live broadcast means.
It is people like you that go to a magic presentation and say that it is true because you saw it live. Olodo!
So even if u claim no one died, the people with gunshot wounds that we saw had no blood ? Now why is there blood stains not on the floor?
Same reason we can’t see the blood stains is same reasons u can’t see blood stains from people who died ... abi u wan claim say no one was wounded again? Smh
That the army left after a while was when exactly? CNN said police came after army had left ... did they state how long the army was there ?
Bow let me educate u since you are so lazy to watch the videos that came out the following day... from those videos, we saw people later running away from where they initially sat and were treating the wounded... so ure asking how the army carried the dead bodies? They did after they successfully chased everyone far away...
Lastly, did you know there’s another pic leak of army moving dead bodies out of a their facility to a morgue ?
You don’t know I guess... what exactly do you know
You are not thinking, and analysing things.
DJ switch says they picked the dead bodies and gave them to the Army!, here you are saying the army picked them up after the people ran away. So who should be believed?
To educate you, an injured person will bleed, and blood gets to impact the ground especially when many persons are injured. Even when you lay an injured person on the floor t treat them, the blood would definitely get to the floor/ground. Na common sense.
Please share the pic or video of the army moving the dead bodies from their facilities, and name the morgue that they moved them to. You should even go ahead and give this information to the Youth reps on the panel so that it can be uncovered.
2nd pic contains those found at Lekki Now compare the edges Blank bullets have jagged top while life bullets have smooth top.
Moreover, that video from Youtube has been blocked for a season now
First, thanks for going looking for pix of Blanks, at least both of us agree on how they look like.
However, the judicial panel was at the site some weeks after. Here is a post from the venue of the incident on the SAME day of the incident. And you can check the bullets out.
SUFFERInSMILIIN: Illiterate if you hear gunshots and people are shooting at you when you went to take pictures or videos
But SMART you actually believes that DJ Switch had the presence of mind to be doing IG live while Army was shooting at her and others, she even had the presence of mind to walk to the soldiers to ask questions, walk away, then the soldiers started shooting at them again. And all the while, she was on IG live and you watched it live.
But when asked about others, you suddenly realize that it is practically impossible to be moving around and making videos while being shot at continuously.
Minjim: Don't be quick to castigate Nigerian reporters. CNN and BBC operates in a society that encourages and value freedom of speech and Press Freedom. What we have have is a dictator and propaganda government that doesn't want people to be informed. All their laws are geared towards gagging the press. I watched Channels Tv reporting the crisis live that day and showing people that witnessed the whole incident. The reporter even held two bullets picked from the scene. But I guessed NBC had made them delete that video from their site. But thank God for Youtube
Thefxchanger: And u didn’t see the guy in the video released by cnn with an excerpt video of his dead brother but they can’t find the dead body of his brother till today?
Isn’t that enuf to prove that the army carted away dead bodies of those they killed ?
The same CNN said the Army left the scene after a while. So what now happened to the injured, or those that died after the army left? What happened to the phones of the people present at the scene to capture the pictures/videos of these dead and injured?
When the army carted away the bodies of the dead, did they also clean off the blood on the ground? Did they also take away the critically injured? How come there are no videos of the army picking dead bodies from the floor, is it that all the phones at the scene stopped working at this critical moment?
