amicable09: I read the circular and by understanding still maintain my stand.
I asked one of the posters here if the temporary slip has the NIN, his response came back as negative.
Which is why at this point, I plead that you go through the subject and my first post again. It will save us all so much stress.
cc. All those who have quoted me and whose messages I can no longer reply.
Thank you very much. The temporary slip HAS THE NIN, the temporary slip is different from the enrollment form. While the Enrollment Slip is just really a confirmation of data capture, the Temporary Slip has all your details that any institution would use to verify your identity. As a matter of fact, NiMC is brooding the idea (which is what it should have been actually) that the Card itself is not mandatory and having your NIN number assigned to you in the main thing. As of now, once you quite your NIN at Immigration, you would not need to do any data capture for your International Passport. |

amicable09: I will definitely find out.
Security guys and house helps who do not have ID cards now have account numbers. That I'm aware of. No visitation is done for such small accounts. We need their deposit. In fact, their low cost deposit forms the largest size of a bank's liability position.
However, the last time I checked, a customer's request to open a savings account for his child was turned down because the benefactor couldn't present a verifiable identity card.
NIMC slip, as at today, I am sure isn't allowed. Maybe tomorrow it will change
Thread, bookmarked! B Maam, the CBN had issued a circular to ALL Financial Institutions in Nigeria to accept the NIN Slip as a valid means of identification. CBN read the NIMC Act and directed all financial institutions accordingly, which is why the NIMC account could come down hard on the Sterling bank customer support handle. |

From time. Yorubas have never agitated for self rule...Hausa has Araba, SS had their republic, Igbos have always wanted Biafra...election or no election...What about Yorubas? A little reading of the history of self determination in Nigeria would enlighten you more. However, going by your own assertions, of what use is the chest beating for "own Republic" when you've always been an appendage to the region that wanted self rule the least? |

If we did things in this world based ONLY on precedence, then we would still have slave trade ongoing in 2017.
That something was done previously is not an excuse to continue doing it once it becomes known that it should not be done. Isn't the clamour for restructuring based on need to change what precedence has given us?
Remember that precedence was that INEC disqualified candidates until Atiku challenged it, and now everyone knows INEC has no powers to disqualify candidates.
And why is he preempting the Supreme Court judges? The judges of the SC are to determine cases based on law and not based on precedence otherwise we would move to the law of common sense rather than law of the books. Our democracy only gets better as we iron out the grey areas of our constitution / laws. |

Infact 80% departmental directors/heads are from their country and less qualified. There is no law requiring that a CEO or CTO must be PhD or MSc or BSc holder. Academic qualifications are not the only criteria for management of any company. We need to stop our fixation with paper qualifications and start focusing also on knowledge and experience. |

There is no alot positive abt single moms. I quoted you, NOT because you made anything worthy of analysis but to show how archaic and inane your beliefs were. You said my observations may be factual so what's the problem Read your post, you were referring to blacks thus you couldn't be talking about Caucasians, would you? lepasharon: Are you aware that perverted men target single mums in order just to get close to and molest their children?
because the women is a single mom she will be dating all kinds of men who she will be carelessly exposing to her kids and making them vulnerable
Studies show a child is better off in two- parent household EVEN IF BOTH PARENTS ARE STRUGGLING.
Women alone cannot effectively raise children which explains why the African American who commit crimes are mainly from single black mothers.
I live in the West and there is a pathetic amount of Nigerian single moms who purposely run the man out the house just to claim more money from the government and seek pity.
They don't care about their children! You live in the West, which "west" are you referring to, western Nigeria, Western Europe, there is also West in Asia. If your "West" is implying North America, I am ashamed that you hold such views for someone living within an enlightened and civilized community where equal rights and women rights are being championed. You observation might be factual, but it is just a hasty generalization. There vast majority of single moms in America are not blacks thus your deductions from observing "some" black women would be so far from the truth it is downright reprehensible. Since you are living in the "West" please allow their civilization to influence your outlook on life. |

MaziOmenuko: Oga, is N2.6bil the reason EEDC is not giving power to the entire SE which includes Abia, Imo, ANambra, Enugu and Ebonyi? So because Enugu state govt owes EEDC N2bil, people at Abakiliki, Umuahia, Owerri and Awka shouldn.t have light? And doesn't it reek of incompetence when an accumulated bill rises up to that amount? If it was an individual that owes them N1k, they will hasten and disconnect him, why didn't they do same to Enugu govt?
All these are just white-washed excuses; EEDC is a total failure and huge disappointment. It would have been better if the government of Abia, Enugu, Ebonyi, Anambra and Imo pulled resources and bought the DISCO just like the South-South states did rather than leave it in the hands of a frugal business man with zero knowledge of customer satisfaction. When Enugu State Givt owes 2Bln, do you know how much Edo, Anambra, Imo and Abia State governments are owing EEDC? Well, PHED once disconnected the ENTIRE BAYELSA STATE, thus the Govt and people of Bayelsa State did not have power for almost a month, did the fact that South-South States have shares in PHED prevent that? If we all continue to utilize power without paying, how would the Discos pay the Gencos; How would the Gencos then pay for gas? At the end of the day, the entire system would collapse as the system cannot be sustained. |
Politics › Re: Fashola Angry With Enugu Legislators Action On Eedc by Akainzo(m): 10:15am On Jun 13, 2017 |
MaziOmenuko: Oga, stop being sentimental. EEDC is the worst of all the discos despite enjoying one of the most active Gencos in the country. Power generation is above average from the Gencos but EEDC has failed to transmit to the end users; deliberately rejecting power generated so it won't pay for it, but billing it's customers based on estimation. In such doing, they don't pay for power from the Gencos but still make money from the customers since they don't give prepaid metres.
Stop this your Anambra politics and see things as they are. No one hates on Emeka Offor but it is obvious GEJ used the EEDC to settle him. His company is incompetent and in saner climes, the FG would have revoked his licence. But if that is done now, you start shouting that the FG is marginalizig the igbos, no longer that Enugu hates Anambra. Bros, if you were the owner of EEDC, would you purchase power from the National Grid and give to people who want to use and not pay?, see the quote: The minister, who criticised the action on Monday in Enugu at the 16th power sector monthly meeting, appealed to the state government to settle the N2.6 billion it owed EEDC. If you want EEDC to finance getting Pre-paid meters to your houses, please encourage and impress it on the State Government to settle its debt. Haba, there is no free power. Since you pay for the data to use Nairaland, please pay for the power to charge the device as well. |

Except by Nigerian laws, a Judge cannot run a groundnut farm! And by Nigerian law, all illegally obtained evidences are admissible. The law says OBTAIN a Search Warrant, but evidences collected without a search warrant are admissible in Nigerian courts, therefore the law makes provision for getting a Search Warrant AFTER the event has happened. So go figure. |

cristianisraeli: do you even listen to your self.yes i know its the senators voice, tech gurus can say otherwise..but it could be inadmissible in a reputable court of law if it was gotten illegally without a COURT ORDER.this is not about the news platform..its how they got the voice recording.they have no right to bug someones phone, thats invasion of privacy.they can actually be sued if its proven that they bugged the senator illegally.only law enforcement agents have the right to wiretap anyone with a court order.this is why DSS case would never stick.if the recording was leaked by melaye or the judge..THEN ITS ADMISSiBLE IN court..all am saying is do things the right way and get the right results.if sahara didnt bug or wiretap..how did they get the recording?i think they have some explaining to do and someone could go to jail
For example, let's use a phone call where one-party law applies. If someone calls me and secretly records our conversation, that would be perfectly legal, even though I don't know of the recording, because one party to the conversation (the caller) consented. However, if my next-door neighbor intercepted a phone call between my wife and me and recorded it, such recording would not be legal, because no party to the conversation consented to the recording.
illegal recordings are not admissible into evidence. For legal recordings, there are a number of hurdles that the party seeking to use the recording as evidence must clear. The first is authenticity; that is, the recorder must prove that the evidence is what it purports to be, a genuine recording made through reliable methods of a specific conversation that has not been altered. Please, you've been watching too many American movies or reading American laws, all evidences are admissible in Nigeria, including ILLEGALLY obtained ones so long as the judge deems it suitable to help the case. To help you out, we don't even have a wire-taping law in the first instance. Please pick up a copy of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act of 2015 and educate yourself. |

E2power3: Some of us investigated the supposed kidnap of Chibok girls when it occurred and found out that it was arranged by APC! We informed Nigerians expressly but so many called us names and abused us to no end?!
My intelligence and security organization, with international consultancy pedigree, would not have been interested in that abduction if APC had not left too many loose ends that were begging to be probed - the refusal of Governor Shettima to obey Jonathan's government's (FG) directive to relocate the girls from the State-owned secondary school even in the face of intelligence report stating the reality of the planned kidnap, the absence of the Principal, Vice, their families and that of all Muslim Teachers (and families) on that day, the keeping of the girls in Maiduguri GRA for about 3 months before being moved into Sambisa Forest, the veracious effort put in by all Jonathan haters then (both in and outside his government) to stop our organization from presenting our report (with clear evidences) to Jonathan and the list is literally endless!!!
Nigerians should know now that those girls pawns on APC's political chess board and it was this realization that made me refer to them as demonic and desperately evil through my online posts! If they are not that, who would do such an abominable level of wickedness against young and innocent Nigerian girls of poor parents and a Christian Community, if not Lucifer itself !!! That your intelligence and security organisation with international consultancy pedigree seems to have been smarter than the US CIA and the British MI6, plus even the French and Dutch versions that joined forces to search for the girls. Bia, why didn't this your acclaimed intelligence consultancy outfit share this information gathered with the US, even if it is to collect the ransom that was offered? Nonsense! Imagine that your consultancy outfit knew all this but GEJ, and all his security team couldn't know it! Haba, Nigerians were right to kick them out then. |
