Amefrica: Hmmm! Alright nah.. Thanks sir!
Pally, check vinnygod's review on Ethiopian above, he had a different experience, quite positive.
It's possible bighead1's mum had a different outlook on flights and has been spoilt by the likes of emirates and co and vinnygod is probably flying for the first time, lol.
you know people have different opinions so, enjoy your flight i am very sure with your fellow flight mates, you guys go rock the plane well.

duntano: Thanks a lot I also thot so too. D VO denied on the bases of purpose of visit
Which I dint get at 1st which is y I am thinking to add SOP . He only ticked purpose of visit. Please if you have any other suggestions I would appreciate it.
Thanks people
pally, are you going for a second degree i.e a second bachelors or a diploma?I'm thinking if purpose of visit was the issue, it might be because of one of this two reasons and if yes, the SOP will make sense. You will have to convince them on why you are going for the program and not a masters and not in naija.
all the best!

Nabylet: I understand, Its just that sending 2 official transcipts to about 3-5different schools is expensive, so I want the Student copy now, den when I get the admission, il send d official one... But If I don't succeed in getting it, will have no other choice but to let them send it officially
nabylet,if you know what the school requirement is for your program, based on your result, you have a good idea of which school will give you admission.based on that, you can decide which of the school you will send it to.

kennycanny: on the amount let's do calculations. Return tickets to Canada should b average of 300k × 4 = 1.2m. Let's say hotel reservation 250k (i never do one b4 o). Feeding and other flexing 250k. Totalling 1.7m . I guess u people should have like 2.5m balance with a good financial history to convince the visa officer. You can use your other investment/ property documents to support your application.

About your job, u can include the employment letter since u ll be resuming after your vacation.

All this are just my own thinking, others may have better suggestions.

Buy something come on your return o grin
kenny has practically said it all.if you have previous travel history, it will also help a lot.
also, your hotel bill will depend on your length of stay in Canada.
statement of account payslips, etc should also be included.
you have to be able to prove that you are very comfortable and can afford the trip.

Amefrica: Just weighed my foodstuffs in my main luggage - the weight is 30kg ...does anyone know if this will affect me while checking in?
check your airline's baggage requirements, most is 23kg and if over, you pay extra.
you should be entitled to 2 bags, just confirm.

charlesbussyyahoocom: Thanks to you all for ur concern, just to say a little,we started the whole processing july 31 last year after which I filled skill immigrant form and working permit form i sent it to him the necessary documents he requested for, then he told me that is going to took him 3months and when it was 9th week he asked me to go for my vaccination test which I did,and when it 31/2 months he said my document was rejected due to the fact that I av inadequate working experienced,he gave me options then, weather he shld return my money or he should do it again,I asked him to do it again but this time he didn't requested for any money, and we have been on it since december,we do chat and call when the need be,he said that he want to make sure that everything is successful before he could say anything...now he said my document has been approved and dispatch to Nigeria now he said I should keep my eye on the address that I filled inside my forms, but then I didn't go for any medical test or biometric whatever cos he never ask me to do so, but now my question is are they going to take my document to house address or my P.O Box or they will call me ? Or I shouldn't expect anything @all with my explanation ? Pls people help my unbelieve. And more also I will like to know the medium of dispatching the document whenever is approved.
Pally, in my opinion, this is a scam, especially without biometrics or medicals done.Well, my learned colleagues who are more experienced in things like this will give you a more robust response.Cheers

twoc: hi pls I want to ask your opinion about paying tuition to school accounts from Nigeria. I went to my bank and was told I have to pay like 5 different fees and fill 'form A 'before they can send my fees. pls any other cheaper means. I was told the western union transfer don't work in Nigeria. pls I need to confirm cos its sure cheaper. what other means do u suggest.
the cheapest and only option for you will be form A cos you get the funds at official rate. The 5 different fees is a strange one, i will advise you meet the head of operations of your bank and clarify. you should be charged 1% of the naira equivalent depending on the banks anyway.if you have the dollars, you can also initiate a foreign transfer to the school if you have the school details.Hope this helps.

no, not the same, you can do your SOP and let experts on the thread advise you.If you go through this thread from last month, you will see guidelines for submitting SOPs.
If you are through with yours, i can help review based on what i have learnt on the thread, i am still waiting for my medical call up.

temidel: II give all the Glory and honor to God Almighty for his grace and unending mercy. My TRV story became successful with nothing else but Gods UNMERITED FAVOUR…indeed!! My story was an exception to the rules or norm!!
I applied online for my TRV on the 1st of July, 2014 only to discover a few days later that I made a huge mistake with my application…I discovered the following:

(1) CIC FORMS: My Family information form was totally incomplete and I also gave wrong information. Due to rush or sheer carelessness I entered a wrong date of birth for myself, which is totally different from my real age (what’s in my international passport). my parents are deceased and I did not include their death dates and city as requested on the form, I failed to declare if I had children or not and sign as required (even though I’m currently single let alone to have kids). I also did not include the country of birth of my siblings in the space provided. and ooops!! I remembered what someone said on this thread about how CIC declines application for people who either provide wrong information or fail to fill their forms completely (https://www.nairaland.com/1475467/travelling-canada-part-5/347)

(2) LOE: My letter of Explanation was not as detailed as it may have been for most people in here. Though just a page, no introduction, didn’t state why I chose to study in Canada, didn’t mention why my uncle was my co-sponsor, let alone state what he stands to benefit from sponsoring me. I only talked about why I chose my course of study, what my academic expectations are and the gap I hope to fill back home with the skills I acquire after study. I also talked a little about my work experience and why I decided to study in the school where I got admitted to and that was all.

I found out about this thread after I had submitted my application and I felt really depressed and looked forward to a denial. I sooo wished I had visited this thread before submitting my application and I knew it can only take Gods unmerited favor for this to be successful, so i fasted and did a lot of prayer work. In fact, at a point i stopped praying and still feared I was going to be denied but lo and behold:

I received a medical request on the 28th of July
Did medicals at Asaju-31st July
Passport Request- 5th August
TRV stamped and passport pickup-8th August

Documents submitted include: CIC forms, My account statement, my co-sponsors (Uncle) account statement, pension statement, Affidavit of sponsor, Letter of Sponsorship, my share certificate, SOP, letter of acceptance, employment letter, promotion letter, paystubs, staff id card, NYSC certificate, degree certificate and transcripts, police clearance certificate, passport info and digital photograph.

Note: I and my uncle don’t bear same surname and I didn’t include my parent’s death certificates

Moral of the story: There’s a God factor which supersedes every human endeavor and there can always be an exception to every rule. But only with God will all things be possible. Congrats to those who already got their TRV’s and to the medicals and TRV hopefuls, PLEASE commit everything to God. Even those who are over qualified still get denied. To those who use their time and resource (data, relevant documents) to attend to various queries in here and guide prospects with viable tips on the application process(Even more than most agents would do)…God will duly reward you with Favor in everything you set your heart to do…
Sorry for the Long, yet inspiring story grin

Canada can’t wait to receive a star!!!!....... Have a great day all.
congrats and truly inspiring, God always likes efizzi sha, lol.

Is it okay if i go for a post secondary school program....eg....2 year HR

My plan na to Ben Johnson ooh.convincing the VO hhhhmmmmm is my marriage and children not strong enough to convince the VO?
FSW-Federal skilled worker program, you can read that up on cic.gc.ca.
i think you can go for a post secondary school program and like someone mentioned, your SOP, statement of purpose, should be able to convince the VO with prayers.
yea, with your husband and kids left back, should be ok, have enough funds, leave the rest to God.Even if you get denied at first, you will know the reasons for the denial and you can refire, worst case scenario.Nothing ventured, nothing gained my sister.

iseethegoal: Please is there anyone that applied in early July and has gotten a response? I was refused, but I refired on July 7, but nothing yet from CIC. Pretty worried now as I need to know what next and if need be defer the admission since school will be resuming soon.
pally, hold on a bit, you still have time now, i am sure you will hear from them before monday definitely.I guess you went through the online route?
the earliest you have to be in school would probably be September 1st.Wait till a few days to that to advise your school if you need to defer.

codebreaker: hmm! just learnt something.. so you saying those released bookings would be cheaper? 12 to 12:30 of which time zone if I may ask??
codebreaker, naija time, it worked for me last year and the chances are better if the intended departure date is close to a month or over.

kayjegs: Anyone with idea of how to get a cheap air ticket from Lagos to Saskatoon between August 21 and 25 departure dates. I am due to resume for my PhD in Canada. I want tickets cheaper than 300,000 or on it.
it's close, i doubt if you can even get 350k right now from Lagos to Sask.
My advise, check flights from 12 midnight to say 12:30am for released bookings that were placed on hold previously.
try return cos all the one way i just checked for you were costlier than a return

lucaschase: Please I need reply
Good Evening house, Am currently applying for MEng Electrical Engineering Winter 2015 in the following Universities: MUN, Carleton and University of Victoria. I want to know the criteria for getting Post Graduate work permit , if it depends on the duration of the course, e.g MEng programs are usually 1year, I wish to know if the Post Graduate work permit will just be for 1year. Also, which of MUN, Carleton and university of Victoria is more affordable for MEng program... Thanks
yea, post grad work permit depends on course duration, 1 yr prog gets you 1 yr post grad work permit and 2 yrs gets you 2-3 yrs work permit.
for your second request, google is your friend, check out the school sites and fees for the program.
cheers

MrsM: Hello everyone! Hope we're all doing good today? I have a couple of questions. For people with children, did you apply with your spouse and kid/kids? I'm thinking of applying alone then bringing in my son later maybe after the first term. He has a US passport so I'm guessing this will be easy enough. My hubby will be my sponsor, can I later request for him to join me in Canada as a 'dependent' when in truth I depend on him? Am I even allowed to 'file' for him while still a student? I hope my question makes sense to someone. Please help out a confused sister!
MrsM,i applied for my wife and son before i got to know much on this thread and was denied based on purpose of visit and family ties.
my advice is to go first and apply for your son and husband to come visiting after you land and this has been the advice on this thread from day 1.I don't think it matters that he is sponsoring you if he is coming to visit. My learned colleagues on this thread will give further advice i believe.this is my 2kobo contribution.cheers

Cufs: Thanks missbon, here are the list of doc I submitted

List of additional documents:

1. Current work I.D

2. Letter from Prospect employer

3. Your letter of intent

4. Sponsor bank statement with sufficient funds

5. Sponsor property document (1)

6. Letter f invite from my sister stating she will provide my accommodation

7. Admission letter

8. Affidevit of sponsor
9. My employment letter

9.
Hi Cufs, did ur sis send u a copy of her study permit/work permit/PR or evidence that she is there genuinely? If yes, for her to accommodate you, she must definitely be working and must have sent you a copy of her statement to show she can take care of you.
I assume you included your study leave approval from your workplace?
Are you also married? What program are you going for? what did you study in school? If you go for a program below or at par with what you studied prior to now, you will have to justify it in your SOP.We don't know the value of what your sponsor put down and also evidence of payment. If i was the VO, I would also be skeptical because it looks like you are not really committed much finance wise, hence you will need to do a lot of convincing in your SOP.
this is my 2kobo contribution.

If you forgot to include a document and submitted, how can this be regularised?
Is there anyway to get it the attention of the assessing authorities?
