PoliticsRe: Oyo-2015: Ladoja And Akala Teamed-Up To Takeover by akinalabi(m): 3:30pm On Jun 07, 2013
RedReact: To me, Ladoja-Akala pact is still a charade and it goes beyond what we are talking about now. Ladoja is smart and also vengeful, and he will surely give Akala a payback at what he did to him.
Another interesting thing is that Ladoja is a high chief in Ibadan, and for him to now team-up with a man that ridiculed Olubadan council (of which he, Ladoja is among) is funny.
Let's watch how it goes.
Anybody that ignores the popularity (in terms of ability to mobilize people and garner votes) of Ladoja and Akala does so at his peril.

texaco1: that is wher u are wrong, before the elections akala had always said it that the only person he fears is his boss ladoja.that is what he calls ladoja .now prior to ladoja enterance into the race there had been rumours that ibadan ppl dont ao someone to rule them twice .now akala is an ogbomosho man abd after he came back from obi innarguration in anambra he said he believed that he can make it ,ladoja contested just to pay back akala in his on coins, ibadan was split but if ladoja hadnt eneterd akala would have used his incumbency power to rake in more votes.the pact that was made on the day of election was what finished akala.the ibadan south west votes wasnt counted or release at the orders of ladoja it was that local goverment that won the game for ajimobi.ladoja only came to spoil akala chances .before the elections akala went to ladoja house up to 3 times trying to reconcile ith him and begging him to support him
nairaland.com/655358/latest-election-result-oyo- state
Even though you are too biased and PDPish for my liking, I must confess you know what is on ground as per Oyo state politics.

Holding the Ibadan South West results was a deliberate ploy. Everyone wanted to see the results from Ogbomosho first. They knew that was Akala's joker so Ibadan South West was the ultimate joker.

Lol. I'm not o.

I have been involved in partisan politics in Oyo state for 20 years. I'm on ground so I know whats up.

Anyone on ground in Oyo state politics can easily confirm what I said. I dont mean what you read online o.
PoliticsRe: Oyo-2015: Ladoja And Akala Teamed-Up To Takeover by akinalabi(m): 3:11pm On Jun 07, 2013
emiye: That was a decoy statement from Akala, if he truly feared Ladoja, he would not voice it in public space, except through actions. I am sure he was happy to have 2 strong ibadan politicians contesting against him rather than one for obvious reasons. In politics, you pray that your main oppositions are polarised, that way you are more strengthened.

In 2011, those who believed Akala had performed poorly needed a new choice, they were faced with a choice of ajimobi (a former senator) OR Ladoja( a former governor). That is not to say PDP did not lose some votes due to Ladojas move to a new party, but the opposition parties were the biggest loser, most especially when the main opposition parties candidate are from the same region.
Looks like you have made up your mind about what happened leading to 2011 and nothing can change it.

But let me say this before I go.

All members of Accord today (except those that came after 2011 elections), ALL Accord members are PDP members. If Ladoja had remained in the PDP, they would all have worked for PDP. They left for Accord and won some constituencies to the detriment of the PDP.

Let me give you an example. The current federal honourable representing Egbeda Ona Ara federal constituency was a PDP strongman. Infact, he was in the State House of Assembly between 2003 and 2007 under the platform of the PDP. He was to contest for Federal Rep under the PDP in 2011 but when Ladoja moved to Accord, he moved with him and promptly won.

All those Egbeda and Ona Ara votes simply went Accords way. They would have gone PDP's way.

The political intrigues were more complex than you stated above. That Akala performed poorly so they needed a change so it was between Ajimobi and Ladoja so they split oppositions votes. On the surface, it makes sense but in reality what happened was far from that.

Remember that the general elections are not just about the governors. A lot of interests and ambitions come into play. Senate, Federal Rep, State Rep etc.

you dont understand pdp and i will answer u .which party has the machinery to give juicy contracts, juicy federal appointment like pdp ?all these ppl mimiko, ladoja ,fayose are all pdp member forget story when the time comes u will see
No need to laugh brother. Watch as events unfold.

Akala is eyeing Oyo North Senetorial ticket. The incumbent, Hosea Agboola (Akala's protege) is not letting go and he is now popular among the PDP power brokers. He will get the ticket again.

Akala has to look elsewhere for a platform to use because he knows without getting up from bed, he will defeat him.
PoliticsRe: Oyo-2015: Ladoja And Akala Teamed-Up To Takeover by akinalabi(m): 7:45pm On Jun 06, 2013
Urine: You sound like a person that knows a lot about Oyo politics. Do you think an Ibadan man will team up with an Ogbomoso man to fight another Ibadan man? This is a trap for Akala, Ladoja wants to take control of the PDP. If you don't have the support of Ibadan folks you can't win the governorship election. At the end of the day, the next Governor will be determined by the Ibadan elders and we both know their decision will be final. Akala is not in the good books of Ibadan and Oke Ogun folks, he can only deliver Ogbomoso votes.
You cant take control of PDP Oyo state just by bringing Akala in. There are too many stakeholders in Oyo PDP. Akala does not control the PDP.

Ladoja is not going to the PDP. The question is Is Akala going to Accord?
PoliticsRe: Oyo-2015: Ladoja And Akala Teamed-Up To Takeover by akinalabi(m): 7:32pm On Jun 06, 2013
emiye: Ladoja was impeached in 2006, he left the PDP thereafter, i think that year,2011 elections was 5 years after.

the 3 political gladiators in 2011 oyo state election (Ajimobi[ibadan man], Ladoja[ibadan man], Akala[ogbomoso man]).

Ladoja weakened the opposition votes way much more than the PDP votes by virtue of the two opposition candidates being from Ibadan. At least roughly 1/3 of the total votes cast for Akala was from Ogbomoso.
Nope. He did not.

Remember he got re-instated after some months? He tried to seek re-election under PDP in 2007 but Akala got the ticket.

He planned to contest again UNDER PDP in 2011 but when he saw the Akala would get the ticket again, he decamped (not formed as some people say) to Accord in ending 2010.

Many of his loyalists from the PDP left with him. Some of them are now Federal and State honouables under the Accord platform. If he had remained in the PDP, those his followers (like the current Federal honourables) would have remained in the PDP and worked for the PDP.

PDP paid the price of not managing their crisis well and also underestimating Ladoja's popularity.

NOTE: I'M NOT A PDP MEMBER NEITHER HAVE I EVER VOTED FOR ANY OF THEIR CANDIDATES

PoliticsRe: Oyo-2015: Ladoja And Akala Teamed-Up To Takeover by akinalabi(m): 6:23pm On Jun 06, 2013
funshint: You see i'm not wrong when i say you don't understand politics. Nobody said Ajimobi had a landslide victory; sure he didn't. As you can see the election result was close because the margin between ACN and PDP was slim all because of Ladoja/Accord. Ladoja's incursion into that race nearly gave victory to PDP by dividing the vote of the opposition. But let me tell you if Ladoja should align himself with Akala then he'll become politically dead and irrelevant in Oyo state because most of those who erstwhile had sympathy for him will lose interest in him. Infact an alliance between Ladoja and Akala is a very welcome development; Ajimobi should just go and rest because their union is already dead on arrival!!!
You are wrong there.

Ladoja actually broke the PDP votes and not the oppositions votes.

Ladoja was a PDP strongman who left for Accord with his followers who were PDP members.

YoxTheProf: What Makes a Great Brand?

Four simple factors are involved
Relevance, Differentiation, Credibility and Consistency
Thank you very much.

A lot of people these days have turned the art of branding into something else. They think its about the logo, business cards, colourful polo shirts and other mundane things.

When someone can say something like "I need to change some dollars into Naira" and people can say "go to Mallam Abubakar at Shop 19 in whatever market. You are safe with him. He will give you good rates. You are sure to get your money on the spot. etc etc" then the Mallam has BUILT A STRONG BRAND. Like you said, Relevance, Differentiation, Credibility and Consistency.

He probably does not have a logo.

WebmastersRe: Should Facebook And Twitter Pay Tax In Nigeria? by akinalabi(m): 3:17pm On May 24, 2013
vandarsar: They can be made to pay tax if everything is right irrespective of whether they have an office here or not.

But, it is only natural to expect fb to increase their advertisement charges once tax comes in. This could potentially lead to a slow business because not many people will be willing to use fb to market their business again and trust me, any online business nowadays, especially those whose content are meant for outsiders, is dead without fb or google.

Moreso, increment in advert rate brought about by the introduction of tax can also increase the cost of doing business locally, impeding growth.
You have a pint there. If a tax occurs, fb might want to pass it on to the advertisers. If the govt wants to charge lets say 5% on revenue, facebook will simply add 5% to the amount we spend to advertise.

vandarsar: I tell you everything being equal, we could be hurting ourselves thinking we're hurting fb,google or yahoo.
I dont think they are doing it because they WANT TO HURT google and facebook. If they do it, they will be doing it cos its the law to tax and generate revenue for the government.

sainty2k3: Will they also tax CNN, Aljazeera and other international TV, cos they transmit into Nigeria air space smiley
I don't think taxing them will make sense.
You are missing the point brother. The tax is not about using airspace or cyberspace.

The tax is about the money Nigerian advertisers pay from Nigeria. Taxing it is fair IMO.

albacete: Did you or did you NOT ban a certain Peterson on your forum after he made a post on the Football Discussion section?

The purpose of the Football Discussion section on NAIRABETFORUM will be defeated if you continue to censor the posts on soccer tips of certain members who you consider as threats to your business.

I suggest you strike out that section if all you do is ban users and/or modify their posts as you deem fit. Creating a section where punters discuss/share tips on soccer events should be free from any form of censorship whether they are winning or losing, as long as they abide by the T & Cs.
Oga, you must really think highly of me that I will be so hardworking to personally handle every aspect of NairaBET. I have no idea who has been banned or not. We have quite a few staff manning different aspects of the company. I DO NOT MODERATE THE FORUM.

But as you can guess, the forum is heavily moderated. Those in charge have been instructed that the slightest hint of advertising should be deleted and the poster banned.

Posting of picks is allowed and that is why the segment was created. People still post picks there till tomorrow.

And I can tell you that the rate of a customer's winning or losing does not determine who gets banned or not. We cant even know who is who just from the forum.

Thanks.

OmoLisabi: Akin alabi am highly disappointed in you.
I came here to complain about your inability to not only pay people who have make payout request since Monday last week and yet not giving any feedback to people on your forum.
My brother. Cases are treated individually. This one you are trying to generalize, I dont understand it. Pay people ke?

Like I said earlier, there can be hiccups occasionally. But trying to sound like we stopped paying ALL our customers is grotesque and unfair. We paid EVERYDAY last week (except on Wednesday May day). I repeat, WE PAID EVERYDAY.

Sometimes, there are hiccups, errors and so on and it can affect one or two or a few people, it is ALWAYS SOLVED. You can see yours was solved even though you did not drop your username. It was sorted without my intervention. AS USUAL.

OmoLisabi: 1. My coming to complain on Friday(5 days after you did not honor the payout request and STILL DIDI NOT UPDATE CLIENTS ON YOUR FORUM0
Clients? Please do not generalize. A hiccup extended YOUR PAYOUT from 2 to 4 working days (Wednesday was not a working day), that will not make us put up any GENERAL message. It was a problem WITH YOUR payout, NOT all customers.

Up till this moment, I dont know why yours was delayed from 2 to 4 working days because you did not give me details, only, insults on my person.

OmoLisabi: 2. You said that i quickly said you have paid when you said that i should enter my username. Did you see your hypocrisy? look at my last post preceding yours and see the time difference with yours, I cannot stay glued to my PC all day long
I didnt ask you to stay glued to your PC.

OmoLisabi: I want you to try and tell this forum if your customer service on nairabetforum was not replying "Please exercise patience" to customers inquests about your inability to make payments to bank accounts of clients since Monday.
if you deny the bolded then i will simply walk away with the fact that "Nobody is reliable'
We paid customers EVERYDAY last week I am repeating again. Any inquests we have, be it payout, be it pay ins, be it downtimes, we tell our customers to exercise patience.

I still dont know what exactly happened in your case but I want to guess you use GTB. Am I right? Remember I mentioned occasional hiccups. There was little with GTB but its us to deal with and not make clients go into panic mode. And of course, we sorted it. AS USUAL.

Come to think of it. You just mentioned that we put a message that you should excercise patience. Then you made this statement below.

OmoLisabi: They have refused to contact the clients on why the have yet to make payouts to bank accounts.
That is the most frustrating part of it.
Speaking with two sides of the mouth?

OmoLisabi: Fact was you were unable to pay clients last week as evident with the numerous complaints on your forum(surprisingly you have deleted all those threads but to your surprise they are still available on Google cache)
Moreover i think i was not the only one who stated on this forum that you were not paying, there was another guy here claiming same thing.
The bolded is a BIG FAT LIE and I have proof of transactions of the millions we paid out last week.

Another person mentioned it does not prove your point. I never said ONLY YOU has a compalaint. We have over 200,000 members so everyday, we deal with customer issues, concerns and questions. We deal with them individually. I am sure that person's issue has been dealt with.

Our customer service forum is heavily moderated. Let me give you an instance. If someone comes to the forum and says "I tried to change my password but I did not receive any email", we expect that anyone else that has that issue will post under that thread. We then get the message and go to sort things out. Every new thread is deleted for sake of decorum.

That is just how the forum is run.

OmoLisabi: My coming here to determine what is happening was simply not because you did not pay but because you did not find it important to at least update people on why you have not been able to pay since Monday last week till probably Sunday evening( i received my alert on Sunday).
I doubt that is the reason. That I have exposed earlier.

2 working days became 4 working days and I am sorry. My argument is that from your first post, if you had put down your username, maybe we would have checked what happened faster. Do you know there are times we do payout transfer, gets debited but customers dont receive. There will always be hiccups and I am sorry you were affected. That does not signify fraud and that does not mean we were not paying our customers.

OmoLisabi: Try and be fair and explain things the way it should have been and not try to label me a liar when deep inside you you know very well that you were not able to make payouts last week due to no fault of the clients but yours.
For the umpteenth time let me say this. WE PAID OUT EVERYDAY LAST WEEK EXCEPT ON MAY DAY.

OmoLisabi: i apologize for the word "Fraud"
No need to apologize sir. You have already carried out your smear campaign and the search engines have picked it up. The damage has been done already. Thank you.

OmoLisabi: But opened up and tell us why you did not tell all clients why they were not being paid for a whole week.
For the last time, let me say this, WE PAID OUT EVERYDAY LAST WEEK EXCEPT ON MAY DAY.

Phew!
