Honestly, PDP needs more than rebranding to turn around its fortunes, this is clearly beyond any judicial gang up. Impunity at the centre and within its fold is clearly what has brought the party to its knees. |
You guys need to stop this tantrums, the survival of democracy is hinged upon fairness and the rule of law, from preelection to election to postelection there are statutory laws/procedures that must be adhered to. In law you seek reliefs and join issues to seek redress through the courts. This is truly victory for democracy but expect the battle to go all the way to the Supreme Court. |
How not be a Man United gaffer. Carry your project file and do the needful while your team bores to death. Get your butts glued to the bench for 90mins while hoping for a miracle to happen. |
Jona-dollars held the group together and now the centre can no longer hold. THINGS FALL APART. |
Youths who hardly read or take note of events in history will always falter in their reasoning when it matters most. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi challenged the nomination of Celestine Omehia when he never stood for the party primaries, he prayer that the Supreme Court declare him as governor. He fought gallantly backed with facts of his emergence as the winner of the PDP primaries and the Supreme Court in that landmark judgement declared that it's the party that wins elections and that since PDP won the election CRA automatically becomes governor being the true candidate of the party arising from the primaries. What equally baffles me is why PDP as a party never learn from history, their stronghold of SS/SE had the most prominent cases of electoral irregularities. The states are Imo, Abia |
The Rivers election remains a complete SHAM and so the tribunal has done the needful yet again. Say no to IMPUNITY. ELECTION is not war. |
Parties are free to challenge every election and what gives them victory is the substance of their petition. If we progress in error to condemn every arm of government from executive to legislature to judiciary, then we must import foreigners to recolonize us. At this stage of our national life, we must learn to do things decently and in accordance with the rule of law. There's no law forbidding any political party from aspiring to the seat of power in every state in Nigeria. It's basically about what your antecedents are as a party and what you can offer the electorate if voted into office. If Nigeria did not become a one-party state in 2003 when PDP controlled 29states, ANPP 6 & AD 1(Lagos) and that was OBJ's second term, why are we complaining now that the once largest party has been reduced to a sectional party. If APC vies for elections in more states and the electorate trust them enough to give them their mandate, SO BE IT. What I say to one I say to all, there's nothing like an APC or PDP state, power is vested to you by the electorate for 4 years and what you do with it is what guarantees a reelection at the next ballot. I repeat there's nothing like a traditional PDP or APC state. |
Even when the PDP held firth at the centre, they rigged shamelessly in Edo, Ekiti, Osun, Ondo, Cross River & Delta in 2007. They were kicked out in the first 4states by the court of appeal and replaced with Adams Oshiomhole, Kayode Fayemi, Rauf Aregbesola & Olusegun Mimiko respectively. In Delta & Cross River States, a rerun election was ordered and they got back in power. The elections of 2007 was flawed to the extent that late President Yar'Adua admitted so and then constituted the Uwais Panel. The PDP had proven over time to be shameless election riggers. For 2015 |
These are the group of youths who sincerely think they can aspire to the highest office in the land. With warped mindsets of CHOP I CHOP. |
Wike at his level should realise that you don't just throw allegations into the air. If the PDP had proof of anything they won't even wait for the verdict. Was it a hidden fact that he made efforts to see the CJN for whatever reason. Where is it done that a sitting governor having a pending case b4 the electoral tribunal will actually make moves up to the CJN's office to meet with him and to back with up with a shameless excuse when caught in the act. |
Rot in jail brother. Lesson to other would be secessionists. |
This wailing is gradually reaching the crescendo where I have to believe Alhaji Lai Mohammed. The PDP needs more than 4yrs to be in opposition to learn the rudiments of good governance. Mr BROKEN RECORD, if you do anyhow, you will see anyhow. Please be content with your appeals and don't ever disturb our peace with your shallow press conferences. No doubt the UMBRELLA is getting torn on all sides. |
freeslash:. Your illiteracy is timeless, presidential & gubernatorial elections were not held the same day and so your argument is pointless. We won't stop to educate you guys who can hardly read any lengthy article on nairaland talk less of the Electoral Act 2010(as ammended) and electoral guidelines as applicable to each election. Just go and lick your wounds. |
Truckpusher:. When you burn down your state, you and your family are rendered homeless. Just do the needful after and go southwards to the Atlantic ocean cos no state is ready to accommodate undemocratic elements like you. Politics is not do or die. |
It's an absolute shame that after several noses were bloodied on this forum at the last general elections particularly the presidential polls that the same bunch of people having not learnt any lesson will continue to decide who wins an election on the pages of nairaland. The strength of each party will be tested at the polls and not in the comfort of your living rooms. There's only one loser as we speak-NYESOM WIKE cos he lost woefully yesterday. |
SeverusSnape:you don't cheat in a process where you are sure of winning and expect the other party to SIDDON LOOK. To PDP and their shameless spokespersons, this is democracy and the people at all times must freely choose who governs them. DO OR DIE politics and outright BRIGANDAGE has no place in this polity any more. |
chukwudi44: |
Bunch of jokers. |
Here comes the loose cannon again, APC was also responsible for your madness as you stormed the courts in Ekiti beating up judges and judicial officers. Ayo Fayose, your day of reckoning is near. |
nnachukz:. You folks talk about the oil as if it's just the well water at your backward. Who discovered oil in commercial quantities? The Nigerian state, who invested in the Nigerian Oil Corporation with other JV partners towards ensuring the sale of crude oil in exchange for national revenue. Please all this rubbish must stop. |
kinibigdeal:. Your ignorance is beyond any sane imagination, the court of appeal and the supreme court will rule on this matter in less than 3months from today. That's the electoral act 2010 as amended. The logic is not to win elections at all cost but to win in accordance with the laid down laws and electoral guidelines. BE EDUCATED. |
The simple logic that the younger generation can take from all of these: If you have prepared and studied well for an examination, then why must you now resort to cheating on the day of the exam. Everyone may cheat and go scotfree but if you are caught, you only have to blame yourself and not others. Wike and the PDP were never confident of winning the election hence they sought higher powers, federal might, brigandage, monetary inducement and high wired rigging. The SHAME is on them and their OTUOKE partners. No state in Nigeria belong to any political party, every party must prove before the electorate that they are worthy of public trust. Good afternoon. |
yamusa5:. What were his antecedents as governor and acting president? You can't give what you don't have. |
tbaba1234:. Nigerians are quick to condemn their citizens whether old or young, look at the frontrunners in the US polls: Ben Carson64, Donald Trump69 & Hillary Clinton67. Have you heard the Americans base their campaigns on age but what each candidate has to offer. Politics is not by compulsion and if the 40s & 50s cannot rival the 60s then no one should be blamed. Imagine all the governors we had in their 40s in 1999 what were their landmarks that could propel them to higher offices NONE |
ziccoit:. When you are at the highest level in civil service, it's a dignifying way of easing out an official who isn't due for retirement. |
I have been reliably informed by the elders that this president can cane very well. The number 1 civil servant in the country has just been technically removed from his post and I won't be surprised if the removal is on account of alleged corrupt practices on his part. PMB has zero tolerance for corruption and the message is SIMPLE, if you can't live within your fat government salary&allowances, please take the exit door. Incoming ministers take note. For once, no one will cry of victimisation of a southerner. God bless NIGERIA. |
Olisa Metuh will continue to make a fool of himself with his shallow press conferences & unnecessary & unwarranted outbursts. A word is enough for the wise. |
Saraki in future endeavors will learn to tread with caution especially when you don't have the president in your camp. You don't ridicule your party in such a manner and expect to be forgiven just like that especially as you were given a leeway for restitution with the adoption of the party's nominees for the principal positions. |
The man at the centre of the storm is feeling the heat and you internet rats are busy consoling yourselves out of ignorance. FYI the CCT set the trial date for 21-23 and what could have stopped the tribunal entertaining the matter is a judgement at the Appeal Court. Was there any judgement? NO. Will Saraki appear before the CCT? YES |
I don't need to be a lawyer to know that Saraki will have his day at the CCT in two days time. The appeal court declined on the judgement which means the CCT is well in order to proceed with the 3day trial. God bless Nigeria. |
Fayose is just ranting and he's not made any sense again with these comments of his. He should tell his party to petition the police. PMB does not have Fayose's time. |
Proud to be a Nigerian, great job by our own SAI BABA. Nigeria is certainly destined for greatness under your watch. Still watching the address on Channels TV. |
