I think we got it wrong here. It shouldn't be just because of android platform, rather it should be internet service provision generally. Be it on your blackberry, pc or whatever, the quality and charge rate isn't good enough especially when compared to the rest of the world. |
The truth is that Airtel or no Airtel, Blackberry or whatever, we Nigerians are paying for poorer quality internet services than most of the world. The charge rates for normal data in some countries are even still cheaper than the blackberry packages we have here. The first reply you get when this question is asked is that Nigeria's population is bigger but my reply is, is Nigeria the most populated on earth? Aren't there countries with similar population or even far more than ours? Is this the sort of charge rate and quality they get in such populated countries? Shouldn't the population (market) be an advantage for the internet service providers in the write set up? Even with their lower population, they still consume more data than us. I'm also surprised to see non mobile network service providers that provide internet services, offer packages at similar rates to the GSM operators. I expected such to be far cheaper but that isn't the case. Is it that Nigerians are ready to pay at such rates or what? Starting from the NCC, these internet service providers are ripping us off. I think the market is there to grab for investors but... |

def lover: i see so na for only bb e dey be like dat.....ok if we need to discuss any stock u go be chart provider..........lolNo o, its also available on other platforms www.bloomberg.com/mobile/bloomberg/ |
def lover: yes i went there but didnt see the chart the way he posted it......i want the real website or link ............look its not about if tony wants to poo or take a new wife.........lolYes its through Bloomberg but I got those charts from the app on my blackberry. I'm sure the Bloomberg app is on other platforms as well. |
Please don't get me wrong. I only showed that chart to explain why Tony must have gotten such according to the OP. It doesn't mean anyone that joins the train right now is on the right one. Like some have pointed out, this may not be the right time to buy but rather, its time to sell. But you can only sell if you've been there all this while. I should have shown this other chart as well. I'll love the guru's in the house to explain those figures for newbies like me.

Please, may I join you guys? For how many decades (lol) will I continue to ask before you all accept me? I understand it may be too late to join an head to head league, but what about classic league. Do I have to wait till next season? |
def lover: guy leave dat tin.........didnt obj sell refinery to transcorp way back b4 he left office......didnt transcorp have oil blocks.....wat did yaradua do wen he came in......sell all u can .....once power change hand greed of the new powers dat be will take it back.....nija is not ready for political stability.........i didnt say i was good pre-2008 i said i was a newbie.......well if you guys want lies for the new Cinderella transcorp be my guess .....Don't get me wrong mate. I agree with what you're pointing out here. Like I said before, I'm a newbie as far as the stock market is concerned. I've not even been there but I understand the language as you've pointed out as well as the kind of system our nation Nigeria operates. Control, long/short term, fear, greed, cashflow, so far its not fetching you cash on a regular basis your house is a liability etc |
Fadelex: he's being used to front... we all knows obasanjo has d largest share in transcorp. how on earth do u wanna tell people not to steal? when u see our future looted by few people u cannot help but lose hope. everything in Nigeria has been privatized by our useless leaders education, power, telecom, transport, industry and so on. I give upI've heard that before. There must be some elements of truth in it but I think privitization is the way forward. It is just that those in power find a way to do it so that when they leave power, they are still there controlling one of the privitized stuff. Biggoozz: Oga, they gave the practical reasons for the surge, did you read the story? If that private power generation project does well, that stock is on its way to over N100 per share. No mind am. He no do he assignment well. def lover: dont be fooled my people in investing its called pump and dump.........its a legal way to steal your money.....they take it up and later cash in once your money is in and re-buy it again wen it has dropped ............one question u should ask is wat is transcorp offering apart from d transcorp hiton hotel wey i dey spend my money too on wen i go there....they have no investment ....dey tell u dey are into agriculture, real estate, oil and gas dat dey have lost d oil blocks wen yaradua became president..........so tell me wat are dey into other than to manipulate stocks.....when you understand the game u will see clear......wats the P.E ratio of the stock....let me let u knw dat P.E ration mins d debt:equity of a stock .......meaning how much do they owe d bank and how much asset do they have.....wateva it is if its above 2 it means it will take u 2yrs to double ur money......i am smarter in this game even if i have lost a fortune......i tell u cos i dont want any of u to go tru wat i went tru......I didn't know much about Transcorp until recently. She may not be into any thing but as far as the now privitized Ughelli Power Plc is concerned, Transcorp is now in charge. Judging by the reactions of staff from it and what I've heard from them, a change is on the way. It is also the reason why there is such a change on her shares value. Life is all about risk you know. Play it well and it will work out well for you. Btw I don't know much about the stock market. I'm a newbie |
crackhaus: I think those figures may just have been hyper-inflated. I mean come on, over $120m appreciation in less than one month?Check this out. As far as the value of the shares be right now, no be lie o

^^^ Thanks a lot for your reply. The truth is that with/without the given steps taken, I/we don't need to be told that truly over 60% of Nigerians don't have access to toilets. This doesn't apply to only the north but also to south, east & west. Sadly, over 90% of comments on this thread refuse to accept the truth. White man don use the knowledge whe God give dem take find solution to keep environment clean. God come still dey speak to us through dem about our environment but we refuse to accept the truth whe de stare at us. I know our problem sha, we de wait make God come down come clean our yansh and environment for us before we go accept the truth. |
Laplacian: bros i must confess, ur result on d generalisation u made @ d bottom of ur write up above is d MOST BEAUTIFUL result i 've seen on dis thread...and d result is true....i'll be very grateful if u can supply a proof...You may start a thread on that. |
padu: I don't have the jurisdiction to hand over such report to you.If you don't mind, can you lecture us on the procedures taken to get the final results for both surveys? Let's have a picture/idea of what it takes to partake in such. |
bitex2: u tried but the assumption u made by choosing 9988 because it's bigger is BASICALLY WRONG.Itz because of its negative signWell, I don't know what you mean by "its because of its negative sign" but let me explain The equation is n(n - 1) = 99750156 Using the approximation as explained earlier Sqrt of 99750156 = 9987.5 Round up and down to get 9987 & 9988 These two numbers are n and (n-1) n is greater than n-1 n is the unknown in the equation Hence my reason for choosing n = 9988 as the solution i.e 9988 (9988 - 1) = 99750156 This is just one of the solutions to the equation. To get the other, use the same procedure but this time, Sqrt of 99750156 = - 9987.5 Round up and down to get - 9987 & - 9988 The same way, n is the bigger of the two. Hence n = - 9987 (-9987)*(-9987 - 1) = 99750156 This means the solution to the equation n^2 - n - 99750156 = 0 is n = - 9987 or 9988 This also means if we wanted to factorize, we'll get ( n + 9987 ) ( n - 9988 ) = 0 We can even generalize that an equation that is factorizable in the format; n^2 - n - z = 0 will be ( n + a ) ( n - b ) = 0 Where a is the rounded down value of the sqrt of z while b is the rounded up value of the sqrt of z Similarly n^2 + n - z = 0 will be (n - a ) ( n + b ) = 0 |
smurfy: I got it up to n^2 - n - 99750156 = 0. I couldn't factorise it.Yeah me too but this is how I arrived at the solution: n^2 - n - 99750156 = 0 n(n-1) = 99750156 The above equation is simply a product of two numbers with difference of one. Hence if you take the square root of both sides then round up and down, you'll will get the two numbers if the solution are whole numbers. E.g 8 * 7 = 56 Sqrt of 56 is approximately equal to 7.48 Round this up and down to get 7 and 8 which is the answer The same way sqrt of 99750156 = 9987.5 Round up and down to get 9987 & 9988 In this case, n is the bigger of the two, hence n = 9988 |
My answer is 9988 - 6789 = 3199 |
JungleboyT: D sum of 6th and 8th term of an Ap is 20, while d ratio of 3rd and 5th term is 10. Find d product of d 13th term, add it up by twice d common difference then divide by 3. Leave ur answer in 3 significant figure. This may not be the right time/space for this question but this your question get k-leg because you asked that we should " find d product of d 13th term" ...it should be product of d 13th term and something else I'm certain something is missing because you can't find the product of a single number/term only... There must be at least two numbers/terms |
uchkochi: THE BREAKTHROUGH POWER OF TITHING.Christ came to free us from such bondage yet men have chosen to continue to live in such bondage claiming to tithe to God. Let me ask you a question. Are you sure you can give a very good account of all the increase that comes your way weekly. I mean things such as gifts you received from fellow men, the fruits/plants you plucked/harvested from your/friends/fellow-men backyard/garden whatever the case may be or is it the bonus/interest that was credited to your sim card/bank account etc. I'm sure you can tell where this is leading to viz a viz confusion/bondage. That's why Christ came to show us the perfect way; which is giving as the heart pleases. Give freely not under compulsion. Why the formula 10% belongs to God when God already owns all we have as well as the breath you and I have that is keeping us alive. |
echibuzor: .You should have done the D & R only and B & R only the same way you solved B & D only. I.e D & R = 6 - 3 = 3 B & R = 5 - 3 = 2 With that, your answer will be the same as the first answer you posted. echibuzor: . |
A week ago, we reported the official cancellation of the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) and the Test of English for Foreign Learners (TOEFL) in Nigeria – due to “security concerns”. Well, it appears the guys in charge of both at the Educational Testing Service (ETC) were being (very) economical with the truth. A Premium Times report tells a different story: Despite the claim by the Educational Testing Service (ETS) that it suspended the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) and the Test of English for Foreign Learners (TOEFL) in Nigeria due to security concerns, some ETS agents who spoke to PREMIUM TIMES suggest “large-scale examination malpractices” and decay of infrastructure at testing centres may be the real reason behind the suspension. In a statement posted on its website last week Thursday, ETS stated that “Due to security concerns in Nigeria, GRE® and TOEFL® testing in the country has been suspended for an indefinite period.” An official response from its spokesperson didn’t do much to clear the dust: Responding to PREMIUM TIMES enquiry for details of the security concerns, Christine Betaneli, spokesperson for the Higher Education Division, said she could not “elaborate further.” She suggested it was routine exercise. “I can tell you that ETS regularly monitors its operations worldwide to ensure, among other things, that its test centers are operating according to our standards and that students will be able to test in a secure environment. This may result, from time to time, in testing operations being suspended pending further review. Such is the case in Nigeria,” she wrote in an email. Agents of the service tell a different story: However, ETS approved agents who spoke to PREMIUM TIMES said the reason may actually be the increasing cases of impersonation and other examination malpractices and decay of infrastructure in testing centres across the country. “The reason they gave was that there were large- scale examination malpractices,” said Solomon Ekong, an employee of E-Global International Education, an ETS approved testing centre in Lagos. “As a Nigerian, exam malpractice cannot be totally ruled out just like the local exams we have in Nigeria. In our own centre we stand out. Candidates have been coming to ask for special assistance and the stuff like that. We tell them it is not possible. “We have been warning operators who have been collecting money for exam runs. In fact people have been reported to ETS in the past. Several centres have been closed down before now based on this particular issue,” he continued. Brain Nnadikwe, an administrator of ETS examination with another ETS-approved testing centre, First New Generation (FNG), said ETS had complained about widespread examination malpractices in the country in the past. “They’ve been complaining about malpractices for a very long time. The only thing I know is widespread is impersonation. Impersonation is a very big issue,” he said. Apparently, the ETS has quite a bit of blame in the matter: The operators however blame ETS as being part of the problem. They said ETS pays lip services to inspection of centres and invigilation during examinations. “Yes, we know that there have been malpractice but ETS should also do a policing of the exam themselves. Rather than leave it in the hands of Nigerians they should have their own employed representatives for the conduct of the exams. They are not always present during the exam. Occasionally they just come to see what is happening and they leave. They don’t have their in-house persons to monitor the conduct of the exams. Sometimes it takes them time to really remedy the issues,” said Mr. Nnadikwe. Mr. Ekong complained that ETS did not consult its agents in Nigeria before deciding to suspend the examinations. He said this is bad for business as well as for candidates. “It doesn’t say well of our image as a nation,” Mr. Ekong said. “We would have expected them to send delegates to us before coming out with such decision. We are talking about a whole nation for Christ sake. For now though, the tests remain suspended. www.ynaija.com/revealed-the-real-reasons-gre-toefl-were-suspended-in-nigeria/ |

Manchester United have lost only one of their last nine encounters with Arsenal in the Barclays Premier League (W6 D2). Arsenal have won at Old Trafford three times in the Barclays Premier League era and have won the title in two of those seasons (97-98 & 01-02). Robin van Persie has scored in the last four Barclays Premier League encounters between these two sides (two for each club). Arsenal are the only side to have scored in all 10 of their Barclays Premier League games this season. Wayne Rooney has scored 10 Barclays Premier League goals versus Arsenal; against no side has he netted more. Rooney’s first Premier League goal, his first Premier League goal for Man Utd and his 100th Premier League goal all came against the Gunners. Aaron Ramsey has scored six goals and provided three assists in his last seven Premier League appearances. Arsenal failed to register a shot on target in their last PL game at Old Trafford until the 92nd minute (Nov 2012, ended game with two). The last time that Arsenal failed to have a shot on target in a PL game was on 21st September 2003, also against Manchester United at Old Trafford. No side has won more points from losing positions than Manchester United in the Premier League this season (6). In 2012-13, United won 29 points from losing positions – a league-high Arsenal have won only two of their last 16 Premier League games played in the late slot on Sundays (excludes final day games). |
