Health › How You Can Manage The Menacing Soot If You Live In The South Side by Alabo7978(op): 7:36am On Dec 29, 2021 |
A recent BBC report states that there is a 4% increase in respiratory illnesses in Rivers State, and in 5yrs times there will be an increase in respiratory tract infections and cancer.
Here are the tips on how to survive the soot.
1. Clean your room/house regularly.
The soot usually settles on surfaces inside and outside the house. Mop floors and clean surfaces with damp clothes more often, daily if possible. This is very important if you’ve got kids around.
2. Reduce ambient air in the house by keeping the windows shut or curtains down. This is best if you have an air conditioning system due to the heat. But it helps reduce the entrance of dirty air into your house.
3. Clean your AC air filter weekly, and you’ll be surprised. Whether at home or office, please do this for your health sake. The soot is trapped there, so clean up. Also, clean your window net.
Reduce outdoor activities if possible.
4. Outdoor activities such as morning jogging are now dangerous! I repeat, dangerous! The high humidity during early hours makes the air heavy with soot and its risky for you while engaging in any cardiovascular exercise.
5. Change your beddings more often if you leave your windows open. The same applies to your curtains. Also, flip the clothes you dry outside before taking them inside.
6. Drink lots of water and take lots of vitamin C enriched foods/fruits. You might want to invest in vitamin C supplements too.
7. Do not try to abuse antibiotics in this period due to constant flu and cough. Please go and see a doctor.
8 Ensure you raise your voice and demand action from the government, keep doing so until they find a lasting solution.
9 Make sure you share to loved ones.

Rtk5: sir, it baffles me how some people reason, honstly if i type all my experience with this woman you will think it is fiction. A woman that when i lost my job and there was no money for diapers her sister advised her to steal my phonr and go sell it. Thank God i found it under the bed. I saw the chat with her sister on that. This is a perfect depiction of the kind of family and their mentality that girl came from. Backward, leeching, selfish and poor. An older friend adviced me to know the kind of family I will marry from. Their behavior and mentality will always rub on the children while growing up. |
Politics › Re: Ikwere: Igbo Or Edo; An Insight Into The History Of Ikwere People by Alabo7978(m): 12:40am On Dec 28, 2021 |
Investigative: This Ikwere confusion was a cunning construct of the British tondilute and water down Igbo strength and control after they suffered harshly in the hands of Jaja of Opobo.
Before then, the entire South Sourh was 60-70 % Igbo all the way to Bonny. Bonny has a string Indigenous Igbo people. Even Ijaw and Bayelsa. All of Port Harcourt, etc.
Now what is divide and rule?
Divide and rule is a cunning way of making inciting hatred among blood brothers so as to cause infighting and suspicion and thereby weaken them
If you do not know...the entire Igbo land..from Nsukka I to Kogi..from Ebonyi into Calabar..Ikom, Akamkpa, Bonny, Omoku, PH, Kalabari, are largely Igbos who had different migratory routes. Just as you have the Obigbo region mainly guys from Imo River areas, etc.
The Brits smartly would lie to everyone that Igbos are domineering and all what not, to make them hate each other and fight themselves.
Also the psychological effect of slavery and civil war.
When you're being killed bevmcause of your name..you have to change it to survive.
It happened in the Mid West where the Igbemudia, and others who are Igbos of Ika ancestry suddenly said they're not Igbos. Even Ukwuani,l who are clearly Igbos, Some parts of Benin, and Agbor..umunnede who's Igbo origins are even stringer than those in Enugu would all wake up and deny their identity.
Remember in those days there were no boundaries as such. Groups of persons can wake up and travel to a foreign empty land and begin to farm and fish. Al these confusion was created by the Brits to dilute the strength of a United Igbo nation.
Records would shock you to discover that Igbos are the largest number of ethnic Africans in the entire world. We're everywhere. Even in Panya. Guinea. Almost ubiquitous. The ones suffering from shame and identity is just transient cos once the rise of Igbo happens again, they'd all come rushing back to claim their place as sons of the soil.
Don't worry yourself so much about their amnesia. They know who they are. They know they're Igbos. The bolded statement and it's kind is a reason why people are irritated by most Igbo people. ALWAYS claiming other people's territory. 60-70% of South south Igbo and even ijaw and bayelsa? Blatant rubbish of the highest order. |

You're talking about "LOVE HONOUR RESPECT etc" Young woman, the OP wife didn't show her husband LOVE HONOUR and RESPECT, as for your question fear doesn't necessarily mean "to dey see person dey run" Stop understanding things like a primary 4 child. Politics › Who Do The Ndoki's Say They Are?? by Alabo7978(op): 12:43pm On Dec 26, 2021 |
Since my Advent into nairaland I have tried my best to be diplomatic and you all can also attest to that fact. Prior to the past couple of months I have always maintained the truth and defended the ijaw Ethnic nation when it comes to it's land and water ways. We have had our hinterlander neighbors strangely lay claim across the ikwerre's, the ogoni's and a couple of other small Ethnic group to grab Opobo and more especially Bonny (this is like moving a pawn in a chess board 4 steps horizontally or vertically) Now back to the subject matter; While driving to my maternal hometown early this morning with a husband to one of my aunt's from the maternal side, this man happen to be a Akrika-uku man from ndoki. I raised up a question politely and even began with a mode of laughter because he is much more older than I am, and I wouldn't want to seem like the landgrabbers I condemn which might offend him. "Sir what is this I hear" I asked, "the Ndoki people identifying as ijaw and even joining the IYC and some other ijaw forums"
"Yes" he affirmed strongly, "we are ijaw people. There is a migration spoken and known about by the elders of Ndoki from ijo region. We are ijaw people"
My eyes gleemed with surprised, this is a man who is critical about everything, who doesn't believe a thing even if the whole world believes in it. I asked him about the 'Aminadokiari' belief and he even went on to tell me more stories about the Calabari people and the Bonny people being an ijaw brethren with them but owing to their closeness with the IBO region, they (NDOKI) lost their DIALECT which became all together a little dinsticnt from the igbo people but very dinsticnt from the ijaw people.
"Sir, so what you're trying to say is you are an ijaw Man like me" I asked with so much glee, but he was not quick to really affirm at this point.
"I can't say that" he sounded indicisive, "but our elders claim our ancestry is from the delta region of ijaw land, it is well known. But there is another faction who say they are Igbo and they should remain igbo" So we both concluded it will look so very strange to retrace that step back to ijaw because the dialect has been lost for over 500 years. "So does that mean you are an ijaw Man?" I asked again trying to get an answer from him. "The Ndoki's are ijaw by ancestry, but I personally am more associated with the Igbo people"
"So you have no problem over the Ndoki people identifying as ijaw?"
"I have no problem with it" he replied, "but I will always have a soft spot for Igbo"
THE STORY; following migration pattern from what is now known as western ijo land around the kolokuma axis, a group of people in well manned trading canoes navigated the water ways looking for greener pastures (usually where the fishes are plenty) along the coast and up stream through azumini up the imo river and settled in what is now known as Ndoki. The Calabari and Bonny band followed the route seeking for their brethren who didn't return home. They launched a rescue mission tagged 'AMINADOKIARI/WAMINADOKIARI' which translates to 'i am seeking for my brothers. They finally did find their brothers and loved the new found area where the fishes were plenty. These three closely related brothers then dwelled in close proximity so as not to lose sight of each other again. Aminadokiari/WAMINADOKIARI' would later be contracted to Ndoki by the Europeans.

SayAsSeen: Hello friends, I'd like to ask intelligent and older minds for advise about an issue before I react.
My wife's elder brother is visiting my house and my wife has been serving his food first before serving and bringing my good, in my own house.
Please I just want to ask if this is wrong or right or even just normal?
I worked all through the night and was famished by the time the day broke this morning. I gave her some dough and told her to prepare me noodles and sardine, emphasizing on the fact that I was very hungry.
NOTE: Her Brother was still asleep at this time.
She prepared the meal, split it into two. Woke up and served her brother first in my guest room before coming to my room to give her hungry husband his food.
I was so mad, I ignored the food, went out to smoke a cigarette. While I was doing that it occured to me ask for advice here, because I didn't want to ask anybody I knew personally.
I still don't know whether to be mad, or to just ignore it.
I am a strong believer of common sense and respect and her actions this morning lack both! It would have take her less than 30 seconds to give me my food then go wake and serve her brother!
Is she told me she needed money for something and I put my younger sister's need over her's-no matter how tribal her's might be-i know how she'd react and the amount of making up I'd have to do.
I am trying to be very mature about this, that's why I keeping things anonymous?
Besides I'd like to know, I possibly can't be the only person who has experienced this sort of situation because they say there's nothing new under the sun. Please who has ever felt this way, I am very understanding and if something irks me, it would irk every body else too.
Wish I could explain better Why are everybody not seeing any wrong in the woman's doing? This woman was called by her husband, given money to make food because he returned hungry and tired. She opted to serve her brother first BY WAKING HIM UP, before her own husband. There is everything wrong with this abeg. It shows the wife cares more about her sleeping brother than her hungry husband. For Respect sake serve the man who provided the money for the food and was MORE IN NEED of the food than someone who didn't even know there was something cooking. All these woke people these days sef. |

Mind you, the subsequent ones are not admissible here. You know we have igno historians who also wrote about Bonny even as early as history but deliberately omitted them so we won't be as if we are biased.
Follow the rules and criteria we all agreed to use. God save my soul. So in all those snapped Excerpt, is it that you couldn't read through a few lines or what? So John Clarke is the ignorant historian or is it Daniel Ogiriki ockiya? Or is it Sigismund Koelle? Or is it Samuel crowther that is ignorant? Ok if you don't believe the historians, can't you see the subsequent Excerpt collected by linguist?? Don't you know what a linguist is So Gerrit Dimmendaal Kay Williamson Flench And the other linguists that also said the same thing are ignorant too?? My Goodness God. People are something else. No one from the coastal towns need to even waste their energy to clear y'all up there, but most times it's necessary because when I was younger I use to think everyone further up in Nigeria was Hausa until I found out there are several other tribes or ethnic nations like Fulani, KANURI, Nok etc. Brother man go back and CAREFULLY LOOK, e no go kill you. |

Oga, that obfuscation does not work on Igbos.
There is Nembe / Brass / etc Aborigenes (of the first part)
and
There is Jo-men / Jos-men teeth-filing boat Pirates (of the other part)
These boat pirate have now infiltrated like viruses the ones of (the first part) and are now claiming the history of the ones of (the first part).
We sabi that game, and we have called you out on it, but you still persist with it.
Nembe is Nembe ----- NOT IJAW / JOS-MEN etc
Brass is Brass ------- NOT IJAW / JOS-MEN etc sense is far from you. ode I am not even ijo as per clan. I'm an original Nembe owei'togu. during the British rule, the brass region comprises the current part of twon-brass, Nembe-ogbolomabiri, nembe-bassambiri, obioku, kula, odiama, and they had their Respected kings but the principal king was that of Nembe ogbolomabiri. These kingdoms in Nembe paid or owed allegiance to ogbolomabiri or bassambiri in those days, and their tasks to the British was through ogbolomabiri or bassambiri. the capital of the brass city state was Nembe-ogbolomabiri, but as the years breezed by, they became very much autonomous. why am I even wasting my explanation strength for an abakiliki man? The Nembe-ijoh people like all other coastal ijoh towns maintain the supreme importance of "THE MOTHER" The mother is supreme and every chieftaincy Wari (house) and it's running IS BASED ON THE NUMBER OF THE WOMEN. even our creation story talks about the mother as the first being. and every child born belongs to the mother and not the father except if married in the big dowry system (done by kings and chiefs or wealthy men) this has been an age long practice, and every coastal town practice it. does the Igbo tribe practice it? BIG NO! so Bleep off buddy. |

However, the ijaws are a different case. Here, how did IJaws that didn't have a king, "In all their district" now developed a king in Bonny? Shatapp your mouth, the ijo coastal towns had kings. In Nembe we had kings that even predated the ones at Bonny. |
