The Executive Secretary of National Universities Commission (NUC), Prof. Adamu Abubakar Abdulrasheed has disclosed that Nigerian Universities have not been ranked for several years.

Speaking in Abuja after the 2018 budget defense, he said the NUC had just constituted a high powered Committee headed by the erstwhile Executive Secretary, Professor Peter Okebukola to advise the Commission on the ranking of Nigeria Universities.

He stressed that for lack of ratings of Universities in Nigeria for quite sometime, some group of people would use social media to publish fake ‘ranking of Nigerian Universities.’

Covenant Uni is leading in what exactly? If it's Medicine you mean, you've just shot yourself in the foot coz Covenant Uni don't run any programme in Medicine. If by leading, you mean the best university in the country, then that must be a joke taken too far, even though they're doing well for themselves now. Where do you put the likes of UI which is the only University in the country to be ranked by the renowned Times Higher Education as one of the top 1000 unis in the world.
Coming back to you saying OOU has the best Medicine and Surgery in the SW, I just can't stop laughing. On what basis? You're saying OOU beats the likes of UI, OAU, UNILAG in Medicine? A piece of work was completed by 15 men in 40 hours. What percentage of work will 3 men working at the same rate accomplish in 1 hour?

This is an indirect proportion task.
If 15 men can complete the work in 40 hrs
Then, 1 man will complete it in 15* 40hrs = 600hrs ( the lesser the amount of men, the more time it'll take to complete the work. That's why it's indirect proportion)
Therefore, 3 men will complete the work in 600/3hrs = 200hrs
If in 200hrs, 3 men complete 100% of the work
Therefore, in 1hr, the 3 men will accomplish (1/200)* 100% = 0.5% of the work
Conclusively, the percentage of work that'll accomplished by the 3 men in 1hr is 0.5%

I believe merit still exists no matter how little, especially in federal universities. If you read well and beat the cut off mark, a federal university has no choice but to admit you.

The very first year Post UTME was introduced in 2006, I did that of Unilag where the failure rate generally was massive, such that the highest score in Medicine that year was 55. I put in for Chemical Engineering, and I scored 58 with 250 in UTME. In fact, I was number 10 on the list based on score, in the whole Faculty of Engineering. Unilag denied me admission that year despite having 3 A1s and 2 B3s in WAEC, with A1 in Further Maths as minimum of Credit pass in Further Maths is compulsory for Engineering. I'm sure there were many other people in my shoes. How do you explain that?
