Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti state, has said that those promoting dictatorship in a democracy will end up in the stomach of the dictator.

He revealed this during his visit to the governor of Osun state, Rauf Aregbesola in Osogbo.

"I remain in PDP to play the opposition role. Without opposition in a democracy, there will be dictatorship."

"Those promoting dictatorship in a democracy will end up in the stomach of the dictator.

"My interest is the unity of the Yoruba nation and that's why I am here.

Fayose also hinted that he discussed issues that affected the Yoruba nation, stressing that ‘our leaders must not be rubbished irrespective of the political party they belong to’.

Earlier, Aregbesola praised Fayose’s maturity and clear headedness during the visit.

Dieziani Alison Madueke appeared in a UK police station recently to keep up with the terms of her bail and she was further granted bail to appear again in the middle of the year.
The gravity of the offense she was alleged to have committed and is being investigated for not withstanding.

The UK authorities simply respect her rights and presume her innocent and is allowed to go home as the experts sort through evidence to link her to any wrong doing. She will appear in court at the appropriate time and given the chance to defend herself.

No one in UK is branding her a thief because the matter is still not decided by the court.

In the case of Metuh, he was arrested amidst a display of drama, detained for weeks without being charged and forced to give up money he was alleged to have stolen or he won't smell freedom.

Top politicians and half baked citizens took to social media to label him a thief even before he was charged to court.

When will Nigerians let go of sentiments and come to term with the reality that there's a big difference in being "guilty" and being "convicted"
The difference between a civilized country and a backward country was clear in this case.

While one was invited to clear issues out with the authorities, and probably given a cup of tea and donuts in the process, her counterpart in Nigeria is seen as a condemned criminal awaiting execution and so deserves all the inhumane treatment.

Only in in a THIRD world country like Nigeria that a court order will be fragrantly disobeyed and the president go on air to justify the disobedience and yet enjoys the support and appraisal of some compromised elements.

We will forever remain a backward nation if we continue to twist the constitution like self-seeking pastors that twist the bible to justify the continued extortion of congregations.

Fighting corruption is a golden course that should be applauded by any well-meaning individual BUT SHOULD BE STRICTLY WITHIN THE AMBIT OF LAW.

Politics › Anambra Central Senatorial APC Primary Declared Inconclusive-channels by alcmene(op): 6:10pm On Jan 21, 2016
The Anambra Central Senatorial primary election conducted by the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been declared inconclusive by the State Publicity Secretary and Secretary- in-charge of the election.

Mr Mathhew Omegara, who declared the poll inconclusive in Awka, the Anambra State capital on Wednesday, said that it would be completed on Thursday, January 21.

The first batch was conducted in the night with four Local Government Areas (LGAs) participating.

Mr Omegara announced the result of the four LGAs with Senator Ekwunife garnering 284 votes and the second candidate, Mrs Sharon Ikeazor, trailing behind with 35 votes.

A wild agitation had earlier been staged by supporters of both candidates over the undue delay in conducting the primary election without clear reason, except for speculations about disqualification of an applicant.

The primary election was surrounded by the controversy of disqualification of one of the candidates, Senator Uche Ekwunife.

Politics › God Has A Hand In Nigeria’s Present Economic Challenges — APC by alcmene(op): 12:36pm On Jan 21, 2016
The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief John Odigie-Oyegun says Nigeria’s present economic downturn could be an act of God to remind Nigeria on the need to implement and embrace radical change, particularly in the country’s current economic model.‎

Odigie-Oyegun made the disclosure when he received in audience a 15-member delegation of an APC support group, Change Agents Foundation (CAF) led by its Director-General, Dr. Felix Felix at the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja.

“I think God has a hand in the current economic predicament of the country. Imagine the sudden fall in the price of crude oil, the mainstay of the Nigerian economy, from its heights in 2014, averaging $112 per barrel down to the current price of $28 per barrel — lower than the $38 per barrel which the proposed 2016 budget is predicated on. It is an object lesson for us. It tells us that we must embrace radical change in our economic model.” Odigie-Oyegun said.

He said the drop in oil price has taken its toll on the revenue and expenditure of the Federal Government and as a result is having a severe effect on the economy.

Odigie-Oyegun: “The concept of change is a difficult one. Nigeria must be ready to adapt to new ways of doing things. As a party, we know and understand it calls for tremendous sacrifice, there is no other way. Yes the economy is in a bad shape, but maybe that is the kick we need to be innovative and find ways to drive the economy out of the woods.

“The luck we have is that we have as president a man committed to personal probity and sincerity of purpose to the project of developing Nigeria. Today, we must think and be innovative in ways of fashioning out new economic models which diversifies from the present over reliance on oil.

“We are in the process of organising a three-day dialogue which will bring the party, government and stakeholders for an exposition on the realities facing the country, particular the economy. It will provide an opportunity to exchange ideas so that we go home with a clear direction on how to go forward.”

Also speaking at the meeting, the Director-General, Change Agents Foundation (CAF), Dr. Felix Felix congratulated the APC National. Chairman for leading the APC to victory at the last presidential election which ushered in the Muhammadu Buhari administration.

He said: “We are here to identify with you in this success and to say that while achieving success is a difficult thing, sustaining success is even more difficult. It is this realisation that prompted our coming together to form the Change Agents Foundation.”

The Director-General said the fight against corruption being waged by the President Muhammadu Buhari administration is already yielding results.

“Our party promised Nigerians Change and this change Nigerians have already started experiencing through the unprecedented simplicity and transparency our leader, President Muhammadu Buhari has brought to governance of Nigeria. The fight against corruption has already started yielding results as looted public funds are being exposed and returned while everybody occupying public office today is conscious of his actions knowing that there would be consequences for any inaction or wrong action,” Dr. Felix said.

Some people working the streets Nigeria should be subjected to psychiatric test to ascertain whether they are mad.

This man's answer to the very first question gave him away as a typical Yoruba disgruntled elder.

"My first reaction is that the activists who truncated the First Republic were men of questionable character in the fine profession of the military. That was when a few soldiers mostly of the then Eastern Region massacred prominent political and economic leaders of Northern Nigeria and Western Nigeria only."

Setting the record straight. these are the officers that plotted the said coup

1. Major Chukwuma Kaduna Nzeogwu (Delta Igbo)

2. Major Adewale Ademoyega (Yoruba) author of “Why we struck”

3. Capt. G. Adeleke (Yoruba)

4. Maj. Ifeajuna (Igbo)

5. Lt. Fola Oyewole (Yoruba) author of “The reluctant rebel”

6. Lt. R. Egbiko(Esean)

7. Lt. Tijani Katsina(Hausa/Fulani)

8. Lt. O. Olafemiyan(Yoruba)

9. Capt. Gibson Jalo(Bali)

10. Capt. Swanton(Middle Belt)

11. Lt. Hope Harris Eghagha (Urhobo)

12. Lt. Dag Warribor(Ijaw)

13. 2nd Lt. Saleh Dambo(Hausa)

14. 2nd Lt. John Atom Kpera(Tiv).

So, to an unbiased observer, what evidence can one provide to show that Igbos actually carried out the coup in order to exterminate other tribes and take over the country? It is very easy to sell falshood, but it is very difficult to provide facts to buttress your claims.

Politics › Buhari Has Turned Governance To Nollywood —fayose by alcmene(op): 5:15pm On Jan 20, 2016
Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State, has challenged the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed to make public names of the 15 former governors and 55 Nigerians that he claimed stole N1.34 trillion between 2006 and 2013 or keep his mouth shut permanently.

In a statement by his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, Governor Fayose said “The reality is that the All Progressives Congress (APC) Federal Government has destroyed the economy within eight months in power and rather than look for solutions to the problems facing Nigeria, Lai Mohammed and his cohorts are branding bogus figures about stolen money just to cover up their lack of solution to the country’s economic problems.”

The governor, who also described as disgraceful, bringing the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Publicity Secretary, Olisa Metuh to court in handcuff, said; “Even the masterminds of Mandala and Nyanya bomb blasts, Kabiru Sokoto and Aminu Sadiq Ogwuche were not handcuffed when they were arraigned in court.”

Fayose said it was funny that close to one year after it won the presidential election, the President Muhammadu Buhari-led APC federal government was still operating as if it was campaigning for votes.

The governor said: “They are turning governance to Nollywood, such that when one movie is about to end, they release another one. As it appears that the $2.1 billion arms deal movie is getting to an end, Lai Mohammed introduced another movie titled N1.34 trillion loot.

“Unfortunately for them this time around, Nigerians have become tired of watching the Federal Government movies, they now want reality. Nigerians are now aware of the scam in the $2.1 billion arms deal movie having seen that the amount those already charged to court were charged with is not more than N10 billion and $2.1 billion is over N600 billion.

“Therefore, Lai Mohammed must either tell Nigerians details of the 15 former governors and 55 people that he claimed stole N1.34 trillion, where the stolen money is kept and bring back the money or apologise to Nigerians for lying.”

While describing the persistent claim by the federal government that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) destroyed Nigeria for 16 years as hypocritical, Governor Fayose said Nigerians must begin to ask which party majority of those presently ruling the country under the APC government were between 1999 and 2014.

“Majority of those who ran the Federal Government between 1999 and 2003 under the PDP are in the APC government today. President, vice president, ministers, governors, senators and House of Reps members who were part of the PDP government are now in APC. Yet, APC keeps telling Nigerians that PDP ruined the country. This hypocrisy must stop,” he said.

The governor, who insisted that due process of the law must be followed in fighting corruption, noted that disobedience to court
orders itself is a criminal offence that is more grievous than corruption.

He said no amount of harassment and intimidation will silence opposition in the country, saying President Buhari and his men should
rather get used to the reality that opposition must exist in a democracy.
