I disagree with the way he meant it. Religious became a problem from when we start allowing our politicians To use it as a campaign tools; telling us how we should hate the other guy because he/she don't believe in our faith. Like seriously, the above Is what will kill us if we don't kill it. So, there is nothing wrong in religion itself; it's humans that got it all wrong. Even Soyinka got it wrong for suggesting religion needs killing; an idea that's nothing different from Boko haramic idiology in principle. We can all believe in whatsoever we want to believe in and still live peacefully together; afterall, our progenitors are traditionalists. |
You're right Op. In short, be alert always. |
Hmmm fayose again! Mostly in the news for the wrong reasons So NSCDC that's a state institution Is no longer your buisnese and they're are they serving the ekiti people. Again I say; pride goes before destruction...even power is transient. |
Just like life itself, it's transient....you've done your part and Americans had decided who'll steer the ship after you. You'll be rewarded according to what you've done while in office.. Either good or bad, your reward will surely come. |
Get sense Bro; it's free! Money can buy love and you didn't tell us how much you bought the love from your sister who took care of you with her all when you're heartbroken. ....again I say get sense; it's free |
His son you said, nothing him. So you want him to be controlling this his grown up children and prevent them from fulfilling their dreams and aspirations? This level of hatred Is uncalled for; nothing different from Boko Haram guys. |
A never ending drama in our senate. Are they even going to get serious and do something meaningful for the people they're representing. Btw., it seems Saraki just shot himself with this move |
Nice move. Who want to stick with a company that don't want to grow and careless for professionalism. AIT and NTA are in the same class...only PDP supporters care to check up on AIT sometimes and the old glory of NTA network news still makes some old unrepentant grannies care for NTA for that 1hr. |
Mods Una well done o. 2007 thread ![]() |
this is hilarious. If you don't have this type of people(granny, uncle, niegbour etc) in your area, then you're not a Nigerian. |
It's saddening To me when I see these policians using religion as a tool to aid their selfish interest and our religious leaders are doing nothing to stop them. I'm a Christian and a proud one at that but all these sentiment Is just uncalled for. The "code" in question had been a subject of controversy for a long time before the G.O visited fayose and infact I learned CAN had even been seeking redress from court prior to that time. Now how is the G .O's visit to fayose related to this sensitive issue? Did F.G forced him to resign? Is the church now above the law? Is the code meant only for the Christians? To those who care to know, the announcement was made right before the vice president who was a senior pastor in redeem. So i'm sure it was well thought out and was seen as the best decision for the church. Away from that, I personally think it's good for the overall interest of the body of Christ. History has taught us not to only train those who can succeed us but to also watch them leading in different capacity before we leave. If you look at most of the denominations we have, this is lacking and only God can rescue us from what will happen when after these G.O's leave. In the end I see this working together for the good of the body of Christ. So if the G.O didn't complain and the V.P didn't protest but went ahead to show solidarity, then what's the problem of all these policians and some online religious bigots. The church is standing strong and the gate of hell cannot prevail. |
Scatterscatter:Ok.. We're waiting Meanwhile, I'm happy to know she's back. |
Scatterscatter:Please break it down for us jor.... You came here to ask for our help when she went missing now she's back and you can't simply tell us what happened to her. We deserve to know and it'll help to diffuse rumors....if you fail to brief us, next missing person report will bear the consequences; I'm sure you don't want that to happen. |
It's unfortunate if this is true. |
Nothing you'll say that'll make haters see anything good in whatever or whoever they choose to hate. I pray for more of God's favour for you this new year bro. Fly higher! |
Now this is what is called Plagerisim....word for word; this a the work of a lazy personal secretary. Unlike that of Buhari, this cannot be excused at all. |
Now I love this. ![]() To those who won't stop criticizing anything Christianity even when it's positive news; you need a checkup. |
LordofNairaland:Your opinion! |
RCCG need to come out Clear as a matter of urgency. These back and forth controversy isn't good for the church. Meanwhile, I respect this man of God like seriously; men as humble like him are so rare to come by. |
We all know she needs to explain to Nigerians the source of the money she lavish all about....and efcc need to ask her relevant questions. Those who live in glass houses must not trow stones for obvious reasons ![]() |
I'm my grandma bestfriend and confidant...same thing cannot be said of my siblings and my parents though they still respect her to some extent. Why I've noticed generally Is the inability of people to be patient with our oldies. They are old, slow and atimes act like small children but a lot people don't understand this part and strangely some term them witches and wizards just cos of these characteristics. If you're patient with them, you'll learn a lot from them and they'll finish you with true stories and life experiences not to talk of the love you'll get in turn from them. For those who still have them around, Learn to care, love and appreciate them. |
https://www.nairaland.com/3552370/friend-afraid-getting-married The thread above and that of the brilliant guy from badcock university that commit suicide moved me to put this together. A lot of people need help and I wish many can learn one or two things from this thread. You have no Business Staying down; You're More Than What You Think Of Yourself! Low self-esteem is seeing yourself as inadequate, unacceptable, unworthy, unlovable, and/or incompetent. These beliefs create negative, self-critical thoughts that affect your behaviour and your life choices, often lowering your self-esteem even further...in simple terms; Low self-esteem Is thinking less of yourself. forgive yourself, let go of the past and move on Most of the cases of low self-esteem and depression can be traced to pains and hurt from the past. It may be traced to an irresponsible and selfish parent, abuses, mistakes on your part. Whatever may be the case, as long as you can't forgive yourself(note that I didn't say forgive the offender) and let go, you'll keep living on the past and when that happens, you can't face your future. This is how you should see it; your past is a fixed deposit that you can't change, so stop dwelling on it. If anything worth troubling and worrying about at all, It must be what you can change but if you can change it, then go ahead and don't spend another seconds staying down. Live in the moment When you are focused on the moment, you can choose your actions consciously and wisely, unaffected by the hurts of your past and unconcerned by worries or hopes about the future. Learn to say no. Say what you mean and mean what you say. Often we say yes because of the fear of authority, the fear of hurting someone’s feelings, or worries that we will let someone down. But every time you say a yes that you don’t mean, you’ll end up doing a half-hearted job. And then you are unhappy that you said what you didn’t want to say, and you are unhappy that you did such a lousy job of what you said you would do. Break out of that habit. Instead, just say what you mean and mean what you say. You don’t have to be rude about it; just be firm and decisive. Developing the ability to speak your mind in a kind but firm manner, and to really deliver on your promises, will go a long way in building lasting self-esteem. Stop Looking for Who To Blame and Be non-judgemental. When we approach our lives non-judgementally, we simply accept ourselves, our experiences, our failures and successes and other people just as they are, either good or bad, without pride or shame. Learn to take responsibility when you make mistakes instead of looking for who To blame....this will help you learn from those mistakes and avoid repeating It next time instead of concluding that you failed just because you're not capable. Love yourself like seriously You deserve love as much as anyone else. Self-Love simply means providing yourself with the love, safety and acceptance you need. Appreciate God and celebrate who you're always; you're unique, wonderful and no one else can be you; you need to not only remind yourself these facts but know that to be true. You shouldn't wait till others say good things about you before you'll be happy; The approval and acceptance of others should be secondary! Love and learn to Help others. No amount of fortune, fame, success, beauty, intelligence, or strength can give you the same sense of personal gratification or a sense of purpose as a genuine “thank you” from someone you help. Again, nothing can give you much happiness as much as seeing someone you helped happy. When you stop being so wrapped up in your own worries, sorrows, self pity, and regrets and start being a part of the bigger picture, with a role to play in this universe, your sense of self-worth and self-esteem gets a whole new definition. Give freely. Help always whenever you can. You will get more than what you thought you ever needed. See A Doctor Lastly, In a addition to all the above, you may still need to see a doctor when you're too depressed To Help yourself. There is nothing to be ashamed or afraid of in taking this decision; it's about taking good care of yourself. Note that depression is the senior brother of low self-esteem; same remedy applies to both but you'll need to see a doctor at that point when you can nolonger help yourself please. #Shalom Cc Seun Lalasticlala RoyalRoy

Oloniyan:He must stop living in the past...he must stop the self pity state and move on from what he can't change. The difference between president Obama and your friend is the way they choose to react to their common childhood challenges. What had happened Is a fixed deposit, he must stop blaming his parents or grandparents for that; it's time for him to forgive them, forgive himself and move on. To tell you the truth, your friend stand a better chance of being a better parent and husband than those who grew up in a loving family because he is the one with a real life experience; he know what not to do and he know how to do it better than others but his problem lies in "living in the past"....if we don't forget the past; our tommorow cannot come. His life will start afresh only when he choose and determine To move on! |
disc20:Seems they have the original one. Present the one you have with you and someone like me will start taking you serious. Still grateful to our gallant soldiers. |
seguno2:My point may not appeal to you but they're mine and I believe and stand by them; your disagreement didn't change anything. |
seguno2:God came down to help and God blessing their WORK and efforts to get things right isn't same thing abi? God won't come down literally but He'll use a willing vessels To accomplish the task of restoration and while you're looking for a King saul(president and governors), God is looking for Davids scattered everywhere across the country; people who're ready, willing and prepared by God Himself to make a difference wherever they are and though it may look small an impart To humans, it's just the right attitudes and catalyst for positive change and restoration. God won't come down literally like He did before but He's working in and through willing vessels already; question you should answer is; are you one of them? |
seguno2:America, England, Isreal....wish you know there history enough for you to understand that God helped them to be where they're today; though they're missing it gradually these days. |
seguno2:Ok. Now that i'm sure you understand my comment but still want to argue about it, I'll just direct you to go and study what God's mercy Is all about(I'm assuming you're not an atheist). After you've done that, you can now come back to tell me why God is still keeping this country despite "all" Complete (or even incomplete) restoration won't happen except we put in the necessary WORK.Are you doing your own part of the "neccesary work"? Your answer may be no; hence your scepticism.Talk is easy and cheap! God will answer the prayer of those who did with a sincere and humble heart. BTW, if you started by acknowledging that we made the mess ourselves, why SIMPLY ask God to restore what WE messed up?To pray that way is called humility in recognition of our state and confession and that's the way to go. Yes we messed it up but now we're saying we cannot go on our own anymore. ...we cannot restore the glory by ourself(our intellect, knowledge, wealth--"works" cannot help us) but only God can do like He did in "ages past". I believe in my country; I believe in God's work; I believe He can and will help us and i'm not Ashamed to stand by my believe. |
seguno2:What are you talking about exactly? make your point clear so I'll be sure how to answer you. Btw., as for Heb 11:6 quoted above, do you mean every Nigerian Is guilty of "faith without work" part that'll make us all undeserving of God's grace or you mean despite our conditions and situation, God cannot show us mercy because there's not a single individual that can at least be a worthy voice to stand in the gap? |
Despite the mess we've made of ourselves, God is still in the biusness of rescuing and restoring us. Complete restoration we ask for Lord. Amen! |
