This is our problem as a nation; we don't want to listen to the truth. Yes, middlemen are to blame for much of the rising food prices. How would you buy something cheap from farmers, take to the market, and sell for nearly x3 of the initial prices? Then the retailers have to resell to individuals during market hours. We call it "business" and go on to thank God for the profits, but its plain greed. The government too is too blame. Buhari, provide better channels for moving food products from farms directly to the consumers and watch prices fall. Both the government and the middlemen are to blame! |
Now that you have identified your problem, start seeking solutions. Start learning how to live with people and to share your things with others....I didn't say basic stuff like towels, clothes, undies, brush, etc. |
When the gods want to kill a man, they first make him mad. Make of this what you will. |
NwaNimo1 (https://www.nairaland.com/NwaNimo1) I honestly don't know who he or she is. I have no idea whether it is a man or woman behind this moniker. Whoever it is, I just want to say well-done! You dey try. Whenever I open a thread, a part of me anticipates seeing your Gifs and comments. Your style is unique and evokes laughter. Surprised that I opened this thread in the celebrity section? It's because you're a celebrity! My favorite Gifs are those of Usher and R.Kelly, Vincent McMahon, those "green creatures", and the famous "Nekwa!" The way you type A P C See some of his posts and Gifs https://www.nairaland.com/nwanimo1/posts One question that I've always wanted to ask you is, do you create those Gifs yourself? |
Then this is a welcome step to solve the problem that they "created", right? folks4luv: |
True. That's why I said we have to fight our greed first! justmondris: |
It isn't one-sided. I agree that the government can do more, but we have to tackle it one at a time. Websites reach far more people than those "abokis". Besides, government alone cannot fight them. We have to fight our greed first. No matter how much the government does to stop the "abokis", many people still run to them because they want more than the official rate that the government has set. Many people only use banks when they want to buy cos it's lower. When it's time to sell, they go for BDCs where they can get a higher value. Let's fight the greed first and "abokis" will go out of business. justmondris: |
The truth is that BDCs are partially responsible for the free naira fall. People go to these websites and get quotes for FX (remember that anybody can just write a figure on their website and others will copy it). How can the dollar to naira increase by over N50 within a week and we say people are not manipulating the figures? Nigerians are just after quick gains! Go to Binance P2P, those guys keep updating new prices every day. Where do they get their quotes from? Is there a particular official channel that announces the quotes for the day? If yes, why are they not following the official CBN rates? Let's be honest! CBN set a rate, BDCs increased it. Nigerians go along with it and turn around to insult the CBN for the free naira fall. Tell your relatives, friends, and colleagues who are into BDC to stop increasing the rate anyhow. Let's stick to the official rates. P.S: Before you jump to insult me, have you wondered why these BDCs (and P2P) buy high and sell low? For example, someone buys dollars at N480 and sells to someone else at N500. Where is the conscience? Dead! Stick to the official rates! Meanwhile, check my signature for a chrome extension that will improve your writing |

Nigerians are funny! 1. Alex Reports was part of Dr. Maduka's campaign team and we all know his PR on Nairaland for the celebrated doctor. 2. Dr. Maduka knew that he could ed up not getting the ticket at PDP, a I guess he asked Alex to obtain the accord party ticket for him (since he can't be in two parties at theeee same time). 3. It was a move to eat his cake and have it back. 4. Alex has finished his job by handing over the ticket to his boss. 5. Alex should come clean and day things as they are. Sugarcoating this well-played political move by saying that "Dr. Maduka's antecedents blah blah" is a poor move. 6. All Nigerian politicians are the same. Congratulations on your decision. Note that: 1. There are three pathways into the army outside the NDA; DSSC, SSC, and Recruit. 2. Two of these pathways are for graduates; the third being for recruits. 3. DSSC (Direct Short Service Commission) is for graduates of professional courses like Medicine, Nursing, Engineering, Pharmacy, Law, ICT, Mass Comm. etc. Successful DSSC candidates get commissioned as Second Lieutenants (2Lt.) and begin work. The 'contract' is usually for 15 years with an option of renewal. 4. SSC (Short service commission) is for graduates and serving Non-Commissioned officers (from Lance Corporals and above, I believe) who want to become combatant officers in the army. I believe that this last category (SSC) is where you fall in. When the time comes, you'll see the advert from the NA. Do well to apply. Get your documents ready and be in top physical shape. Forget godfatherism. It exists, but I'm yet to see the NA reject someone who is in excellent physical condition. All the best! Welcome to the Army (potentially). |

I had the same issue. You need to vigorously clean the area around your phone's sensor. Dirt is blocking it and it must be cleaned or this will keep happening. Use alcohol or wet cloth to scrub it and allow it to dry. If it keeps happening, change the screen guard (remember to tell the person changing it to help you clean the sensor area very well). madele: |

OP, This happened at Statement Hotels and Suites, CBD, Abuja on Saturday, right? Ramanto: |
To all ARSENAL FANS 1. Everyone has their season of 'death'. 2. It is our time to go as low as we NEED TO before we can be reborn. 3. Yes, it is painful, sad, shameful, and even mentally disturbing. But it is only for a short time when compared to the glory that awaits us. 4. Life can only come after death. If this current situation is what will shock the owners to take action, then so be it!. 5. If you need to support another club for now, please do. Don't allow your mental health to suffer. We will welcome you with wide-open arms when you return. 6. WE WILL RISE AGAIN! Maybe not this season or next, but we will rise! To other Fans, 1. We appreciate your genuine concern over the dearth of a club that played some of the finest football in the world and gave the world some of its finest and biggest names. 2. We also appreciate your mockery, banters, and laughter; it is good for football. 3. Do remember to celebrate with us when our season of rising comes. Do remember. |
Dear OP, A biochemist is not licensed to do the work of a medical laboratory scientist. It isn't oppression, but a respect for the rules and regulations. This argument is why our medical sector in Nigeria is in shambles; we have people who are unofficially trained to handle jobs meant for professionals in our hospitals and laboratories. Many hospitals and CMDs do this to save costs. I've heard of doctors who 'train' their biochemist friends in medical laboratory sciences and put them in charge of their private laboratories. I agree that these guys may even become more knowledgeable than a university-trained and licensed MLS, but that doesn't make it right. It is akin to those doctors who train SSCE holders for between six months and a year to become 'nurses' and they graduate from wearing blue to white. It is wrong! We all hail the abroad medical systems so let's be ready to do what is obtainable there! You'll never find a biochemist or microbiologist working in the role of a medical laboratory scientist abroad. They can work in virology, biotechnology, or as research scientists but not in an MLS capacity in a hospital. Even getting an MSc and Ph.D. in chemical pathology doesn't qualify a Biochemist to work in a hospital laboratory as an MLS. They can be called in to assist or consult, but not as the primary professional in charge! If you want to work in any professional capacity, go get the official qualifications and get licensed. When MLS insists on not allowing MCB and BCH to work in the laboratories, it isn't hatred or intimidation, or oppression. It is simply a respect for the law. I studied Biochemistry too, so don't think I don't understand your frustration at being kicked out of every sector where you think you have some knowledge. You can go on to do an MSc in biomedical science and still work in the laboratory in a similar role to MLS. Similar, but not exactly. Peace. |
The UK should carefully screen these guys before resettlement. If not, in the future some of their offspring may have extremist views, and by then they'd have the numbers to turn the UK to another Afghanistan. In pidgin, Make them careful so that they no go use today help take spoil their own tomorrow. Toh! |
