Treasury bills, money market funds, FGN bonds.

These have zero risk of capital loss, just that the profits are not as high

You can see how minimal the comments are on thread like this? Sentimemts aside, this country has no future.
Sad truth. Even the few comments, just a few are about the topic. The rest are the usual inane 'first to comment' post.

But wait for BBN and Mercy twerking and watch the speed at the which the thread will grow

Oga, you're just a shameless disgusting liar!

The road linking Bayelsa to Delta is called the East - West road and I dare say all the completed portions of that road from Delta - Bayelsa - Rivers- Eket including those many bridges were done by GEJ.

Buhari has practically abandoned that road as we speak

Stop your lies.
Fear God!
Stop contradicting yourself. If indeed GEJ did it, why would PMB have any business with it?

Abi it like the much talked about"State of the ART" Enugu airport? Or the phantom second Niger bridge?

Just look at the sorry state of Enugu-Onitsha road. Perhaps one of the most strategic roads in the South East was in such a horrible state for much of his tenure. It took PMB to commence rehabilitation.

You and likes hate PMB with a passion. I can understand. I particularly also have issue with his style of govt and unvarnished tribalism.

But let's face it, GEJ might have given more opportunities to your politcal leaders, but when it comes to infrastructure, he failed monumentally.

If their was sea access to Maiduguri you would have seen how fast they would have dredged and developed it to make it attractive to shipping lines, then even boko haram would not have been considered a security challenge. They should just own up that necessary attention is not being given because the region has the word "EASTERN".
Your darling GEJ was in power for about 5 years with unprecedented flow of petrodollars. Why didn't he dredge it then?

Excuses excuses, Ibaka deep sea Port idea was completely abandoned simply because they’re a 5% state meanwhile there’s no need to dredge the channel there. Lagos on the other hand is pushing for two more seaports at Lekki and Badagry. It’s a simple fact that anything that’ll develop the SE and SS is being completely avoided by the demonic imbeciles in Aso Rock cool
Yes oo. There was once a president from that region who presided for almost 5yrs. Why he didn't have enough confidence to erect a fully functional Port of international standard beats me. . . sad

Indeed. His 'nonpolitical career' was more about bullying, racism, adultery, tax-evading, etc

Like PMB supporters like Trump supporters. Empty headed, clannish, loudmouthed.

You need to read your history books. Buhari’s coup took out Shagari. Babangida’s coup took out Buhari. Abacha’s coup took out Babangida. Abacha died and we got Abdulsalam who returned Nigeria to civil rule. I know my history.
I fear this your history.

FYI, IBB was NOT removed in a coup. He voluntarily handed over power to Earnest Shonekan who was then shoved aside by Abacha.

Of course the loud mouthed Niger Deltan was spreading false rumors.

The money generated by FIRs does not go into its account. It's paid directly to the CBN. So even if they wanted to, they CANT have access to it.

It's statutory allocation is nowhere near the 90b being alleged so where did he get the story from?

You are not stingy but prudent. Humans are insatiable, appetite must be termed but don't deprive yourself or family their basic needs. Extravargancy should be eliminated, eschewed and immobilized, billionaires live average life while poor people eat up their capital. For me and my family, we stick to the billion naira plan, no devil via any human being can stop it's fruition.

Akin3891:
Its true, TB will make you more stingy, but this is not stinginess per se, it's call a budgeted life, *as a TB investor* You are meant to live on budgets and to enjoy responsibly. But don't allow this to deprive u n ur family some basics things of life , afterall, it's just one life n the nxt minutes is not certain. Living on budgets is a bit different from being stingy, a rich relative of mine will lock up his bag of rice in his wardrobe and measure for his wife to cook, even when visitors are around, you can literally hear them deliberating on how many cups of rice to cook. count how many meats in the pot before leaving for work, that's definition of stinginess . Last night, was discussing with my wife that I've never live a budgeted life before until i started tbs, even when i don't worth my current standard , it could be a bit boring living a budgeted life, but it pays cos your savings will keep growing which will later create a better life in future.
I like this. Thanks

Lush100:
Sir, try to understand,
Most people who buy fuel at filling station pay cash.
The turnover for that day if (and most do) the owner has more than 1 filling station will be more than 3M in cash.
They need to pay these cash into their account to then use electronic payment to transfer to the supplier usually at Nnpc depot.
That what he meant.
I purchased fuel and the POS debited me 4k on failed transaction.
It took over 2weeks before I got that money.
If I hadn't any money on me, I would have been stranded.

They should increase the threshold to 750k for individual and 4m for corporate and reduce the charges to like 1%. Then gradually increase these percentages every year.
My 2kobo
I see. Thanks for the matured response.

However to your first point, I think more vendors should make such options available. That way, we may not eliminate cash, but can substantially reduce it. the problem is very few make such option. To the best of my knowledge, only Total does POS.

However your point about failed transactions is certainly a valid problem and indeed a few persons I've interacted with have citied this as one of the singular reason for their refusal to embrace etransfers of any sort. The authorities would do well to look into it.

How do you do mobile transfer after collating daily sales to deposit in a bank?
Hmm. I get your point. But I do believe if most of these vendors make etransfers as AN OPTION, the vol of cash might not be eliminated, but would reduce.

The problem is most flatly reject any form of e-transfers.

Typical example: Iya Oyo is one of the biggest amala joint in Abuja, and I have no doubt that her daily sales would exceed 500k given the crowd I see there. However its all the strictly cash, in fact it's stated boldly on the wall.
So it's typical to see people buying food well over 10k but would be forced to pay cash. That doesn't make sense to me.

Though may be difficult for some to understand because they've been misled by enemies of progress but the fact remains that this policy is new and may be hard in Nigeria but it's the best.
The western world are using cashless policy and is even better and good for prompt transactions .
It reduces excessive spending.
Allow minimization of fiscal expenditure .
In America , the least u can withdraw on the atm a day is $400 cash.
While ur other transactions is based on cashless transfer of transactions. Though u are entitled to come the other day and withdraw again, it will not go beyond same $400.
In all, there will be no development and advancement if we still retard ourselves with the old method of doing things in Nigeria.
Those in Diaspora understand what i am saying.
May God Help us in Nigeria.
Bless you jare.

Well, you've used the US as a case study, you also forgot their inflation rate is 1.7% while ours is 12.09%. You cant compare US and Nigeria on any Economic Policy pls. In the US,they have all the mechanisms in proper control and most populace a digitally literate. now, you expect a typical Business Man or Woman to spend extra 5% to buy goods worth 500k?. This policy is good but our economy is not ready for it now.
Not really a fan of this govt, but let's be logical here. How many of such 'typical' businessmen make such amount a day?
