eddyakinrinde: How are Treasury Bills different from OMO?
T-Bills and OMO (Open Market Operation) are similar and work almost the same way. Whilst T-Bills are issued to finance government budget deficit, OMOs are issued by the CBN for monetary policy management i.e. to control the volume of money in circulation. OMOs are also discount instruments in that you get your interest upfront but they can also be bought in the primary and secondary market. Depending on the objective and aggressiveness of the CBN per time, it might be possible to get higher rate on OMOs than T-Bills. OMO is also exempted from taxes. OMOs are issued at irregular intervals.

kdon0000: This is mean. Do you know why there are so much problems in Nigeria? Because, there are some people who think that they are some kind of God over nothing. She made a request. Did she protested after that. Why so much drama? The woman is welcomed to refuse. Is she not doing her work well? Everyone cant be d same.I wonder where some people get this kind of mindset from. Las las. This hustle ehh. We go dey alright. But know that Karma is real o. People wey dey shout star performer, na dem no dey sabi anything. Anything, you do. Prepare 4 your own. Guy, lets stop being emotional over such things. Of course, I dont support sacking OP, but you need to consider the impression she has set. You hire a staff today, and an week later he/she is already asking for a raise. Its enough to get her employer irritated. Personally, I will not sack, but will keep an eye on her. lets be honest 45k might look small, but consider this is 50% greater than the min wage labour is fighting for, and like I said in a previous comment, I worked for mission, and I know they usually dont pay too well. |

Nthrone: That's why I said its too early to raise a dust ( as par her asking for raise in just a week , truth but be told she acted in a rush) but worst still, if the rev sister won sackam make she report, she have nothing to loose, sometimes it's the house you fear that houses the fortune you seek, I am a testimony to that. Well, I largely agree with the bolded, but not sure it wuld apply in this case. FYI, I worked in mission (hospital) so Im speaking from experience. the truth is, their expectations of staff character is one of charity, selfless service and dedication, hence its no secret such mission organizations dont usually pay too well. so for this new staff to be asking for increase barely a week into her appointment is in direct contrast to what they stand for. I can assure that if this gets to the Archbishop, she will almost certainly be sacked on the spot. Anyway, the good thing is OP has shown remorse and I'm sure the Sis will come around. |

Nthrone: Take it to that level, don't let any one push you to the wall, she is not God...although its too early asking for a raise, try to find a way to make the work easier on you, you can get students to assist you, or find someone you can pay like 2k to be assisting you.the secret is to work smart, not hard, hard work don't pay more like smart work. Take to which level kwa? Are you really advising her to report to the Archbishop?? Worst possible decision. She displayed signs of greed. End of. |

Yes the work load might have been higher, but you should have waited till month end, AT THE VERY LEAST.
TBH, Barely a week and you already asking for a raise says a lot about you. |

revelation2013: Has anyone been debited at GTBank? I have been debited but I am skeptical. It may be the secondary market and not primary. One because the rate is 12.4%, a little lower than what others from other banks said. Another reason is that it happened just this morning as against yesterday evening. They also charge a custody fee. I don't know if custody fee is charged on primary market investment. Guy you just spoke my mind. I was debited about an hour ago. (Which is rare) and what I'm seeing is about 12.3. |

Oya , reply as usual @bolded, precisely. And I do hope the car gets a buyer. But it was wrong to pass it off as a 'brand' new one, WHEN ITS CLEARLY NOT. Hence the 'sudden attack on you'. Nothing stops you posting the history so that a potential buyer can make informed choice. |

iyilowo: Financial Discipline in 2nd Republic!
It will shock you to know that then President Shehu Shagari’s take home was N25,000 per annum. At that time, the National Assembly fixed a salary of N1million per annum for Shagari but he rejected it, saying it was too much. They came down to N500,000, but he still rejected it and said N25,000 per annum was enough for him because everything was being taken care of at Dodan Barracks. So they went back to the drawing board and decided that the Vice President and President of the Senate should earn N20,000 per annum while the Speaker of the House of Representatives would earn N18,000 per annum. Senators got N15,000 each and Reps N12,000 per annum respectively. Senators were supposed to be given constituency allowance to open offices and employ members of staff for four years. They only gave them N10,000 to open an office and buy furniture. Out of their salaries, government said they had to pay rent if government gave them houses. They were also given N10,000 car loan and they were supposed to repay within three years. So after deductions they ended up having N780 per month. How much is the package of a senator now? Nowadays, no senator gets less than N30million every month. Can you compare N30m with N780? Revisionist. Financial discipline my left ***. Second republic legislators were among the most corrupt. Ask anyone old enough and they will tell you how people rejoiced when the military (incidentally PMB) took over. Fact is the greedy nature of our politician didn't start yesterday. It's always been there. |
