Petition: Lower university tuition fees for students until online teaching ends
https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/552911

Good morning all,
Please my boss in the house pardon me if this info is not ideal here. I just think it might be of benefits to students in the UK.
Thanks.

You don't need any documentation from your sister. Just stating her address on the application is okay. You'd still have to show maintenance for 9 months though.

Thanks.

No, it’s not.

Regardless of who is sponsoring you, unless it’s your parents, the maintenance funds need to be in your account.

Even if you’re staying at hers, you’d still need to show that you have the necessary funds in your account.

Sorry, you didn't get the question nevertheless, thanks for your response.

Good evening fam,

Please I would like to ask whether it is necessary to include in my visa documentation the payslip or bank statement of my sister if she is willing to accommodate me during the course of my programme in the UK without spending on accommodation. The financial statements had been sorted out.
@justwise, mimilyrics and others.
Thank you.

University based
I have applied to different schools bother directly and through UCAS. UCAS application cost £1 and I was able to apply to 3 institutions at a time. But when an institution rejects my application, I can substitute with another institution.

Based on your explanation, you don't need a health and criminal records declaration at this stage.
As far as Initial Teacher Training is concerned, all the documents you need aside your credentials will be processed in the UK. The one that is similar to the one you mentioned is the Police Report that is issued in Nigeria, but I don't think universities normally request for it. You can only add it to your files for visa processing if necessary.

Once you have submitted your application, the universities have up to 40 days to make their decisions. Some will request for UK Naric during the process, once they are satisfied with your application, you will be called for an interview.

Some of the forms they will send to you are as follows:
- Medical Assessment
-. Safeguarding checks(Disclosure and Barring
Service)
- School Experience Form.
You will pay for them once you have been offered a place. You should be preparing for your interview by now. Please make adequate preparation.
Do you have an adviser assigned to you from the Department for Education?

How do i go about health and criminal records declaration from here in Nigeria. I have applied for post graduate diploma certificate in Education via UCAS TT and some schools are requesting for that.

It's teacher training and majority of the schools have to be through UCASTT

Hello,

Please which route are you applying for; School Direct or University based?

Which stage are you in the application process?
Thanks.

Good day house, please, I need advice. I came to the Uk Jan this year to study a 2 Years program. I am a married woman with kids so my husband and I planned that he would apply for dependant visa with the kids by March. Unfortunately due to the lock down, they couldn’t get the biometrics done and the worst happened,my hubby died from covid 19 related disease last week.My life shattered but I have to keep moving

I am planing to return to Nigeria to get the kids for biometrics but my heart bleeds for my husband after all his sacrifices . I am considering applying for his mum so she can help with the kids while I run around. Please, how can I go about this?? There’s enough fund to cover her maintenance fee.

@Just wise and all kindly advise.

Please accept my condolences.
May the Almighty God be with you and guide you through.

Bros your school may just be to make u to commit yourself to them.pls don't rush to make any payment to them.pls try postpone it to September no matter what it may cost you.let me tell u now what is going on among universities in UK now. There are many universities in UK,and a good number of them depends on international students tuition fee to survive. right now there is competition among them, they seems to be dragging foreign students. So don't be tempting by this gold offer, it is one of the strategy to a
catch you.right now UK government is planning to introduce a mechanism to control the number of student each school will admit.in fact, if care is not taking some school may Emerge or shut down, because of lack of fund.UK university sector is asking government for financial support now.currently the number of international students applying to study in UK have drastically drop,.so Universities in UK are applying all kinds strategies to Attract Foreign students now.let me tell you,UK government are also benefiting from international students tuition fees.the fees is making very good impact in their economy. I will advise everyone that really want to enter UK to put all efforts to apply he or her Tier 4 UK student visa this year 2020.You will be surprise the way UK embassy will give visa this year.let nobody miss opportunity of applying this year 2020.They need money desperately now to support their economy from entering Recession. Our Boss Justwise and other gurus who are already in UK now can bear me witness. So bros don't let them blind you with that Offer, just take ur time while making decision. September or October is the best.

Good evening fam,

I think you are correct. I don't know whether universities in the UK use to contact prospective applicants, I have experience with Canadian institution, it not common.

After being accepted at Exeter, I still want to have alternative should in case as advised on this platform.

I applied to Huddersfield university, university of Greenwich and Reohampton. I completed for greenwich at a go and received unconditional offer the fourth day but did not have time to complete for the other two.

To my surprise, I received more than three emails from both. I later replied them that I will complete later. Reohampton called me on Monday, I missed the call, they called back on Tuesday to check what was delaying me. They promised to give me discount and sent me links for international scholarship, likewise Huddersfield.

I stand to be corrected if I am wrong. Just my observation. Peace.

Good Morning Fam,

Please can I accept more than one offer and decide later?

The university of Exeter I applied to still assured me a place on the programme without the deposit due to the Covid-19 pandemic, but it's conditional.

I have also received two more unconditional offers but I need to accept one before 28 days according to the instruction in the offer of admission.

@ justwise and others.
Thanks.

Justwise & others may be able to give you good advice.
The BEST advise you can get is from the University itself. Don’t be shy. Shoot them an email.

If you trust strangers on Nairaland to provide advice, then be kind enough to provide details.
What course?
What level of education are you going for?

Thank you.

The course is Educational Leadership and Management at masters level.
I have a bachelor's degree in Educational Management.

Good afternoon,

Please, I would like to know how to prove my English proficiency, I have been given a conditional Offer of Admission at University of Exeter with merit scholarship of 5,000 pounds. I have submitted my WAEC result along with my application.

Students are adviced to submit evidence of their English language test result before they can issue an unconditional offer.

The deadline for tuition deposit is March 12, 2020. While I wait for decisions from other universities, do you think I will be able to retain the offer if deposit is not paid by the deadline?

@ justwise, and others in the house, I need you advise.
Thanks.

Bro... is this still available??

Good evening,
I have responded to your PM, I was thinking you will get back to me.
The slot is still available, but the officials are giving me headaches based on their responses, they said the slot is neither transferable nor refundable. They advised me to come for the medical or forget it. I see this as a daylight fraud! You are not refunding my money for the service not rendered and it is not transferable. Look at the way they are exploiting people here because of Canada.
You can check IOM clinic, they still have available slots for February.
Thanks.

You own visa too will come one day.

Hello my people I need your advice o. The school that gave me admission just told me that my program has been suspended due to program reduction and I have already started processing my study visa with the acceptance letter. I was told that I can transfer my program with no charges or they could refund me my deposit and application fee. Please what should I do. Should I withdraw my visa application from Canada then after I get transfer to another program then reapply. I submitted my application last week. Please it urgent. I need your sincere advice. The school gave me a deadline to decide. Thank you

Hello Agboolaahmed,
Your case is complicated, sorry to say that.

First, if you had been successful in sending the web form and you were able to upload the corrected CIC form as advised by Frank, I think you should give them 3-5 days to respond but this depends on the volume of messages they received. Although, it is stated on their website that they respond within 28 days and that they can update your records without any response.

Second, I think if you can transfer to other related course within same university, it would be okay. If you can't, I'm afraid! IRCC may reject your application once they confirm from your school. That alone is a geniue reason for refusal.
If you are unable to get a related course, it will be difficult for IRCC to process your application without the new admission letter. Hence, the initial advise they gave you is your best choice.
I stand to be corrected, gurus in the house.
Thanks.

Okay thank you, they just responded to my mail and said the earliest booking appointment if February 10 but they forgot to attach the payment fee details. I have sent an mail regarding that, hoping they reply soonest. Thanks very much.

Anon123:

You pay on the spot.. u don't pay from your house..

Good. It is possible to pay at the spot, but I won't advise that as you will need to give them 1-2 days to confirm the payment before they send the medicat result, but since it is upfront you don't need to rush. Besides, the evidence of payment is part of your documents to be presented before the commencement of the test.
Once you receive the payment details, follow the instructions and be guarded accordingly.
Thanks.

Hello Olayinkaji,
I think IOM should be better. Once you have contacted them, wait for their response.

Booking with them is easy. You just need to respond through SMS with your email address and they will send you the details. The fee is around 45k as at December 2019. And I believe you will get a slot before the end of February.
Best of luck.

Hi People,

Is it true that payment made for Medical is not refundable even if you cancel well in advance?

I hope someone can confirm if this is the case.

Thanks in advance.

Good afternoon,

If you are referring to qlife family clinic, I confirmed the above statement.

I have successfully booked a medical test for Jan 30 hopping to receive a medical request from IRCC before then. To my surprise, after calling their officials for cancellation, they said that the money is nonrefundable.

See me see trouble! I beg nairalanders to come to our aid. Is it possible and even ideal for IRCC to be dealing with this type of people. They want to hold my money for services not rendered.

Please if anybody has experienced this kindly share with us.

Good bless you all.
