The first stages would be double Traditional Wedding ceremonies on Tuesday, December 20, 2011. Starting at 10am, Muma Gee’s hometown of Odiabidi, Upata Kingdom, Ekpeye Land in Ahoada East LGA of Rivers State would witness the first Traditional Wedding Ceremony. On that same day, at 4pm, the compound of Chief Athanasius Nwankwo eke in town of Umuota Umuhu, Ngor Okpal Local Government Area of Imo State will come alive as the party would have arrived their gates. It would continue far into the night.

The White Wedding would then come up on Friday, December 23 in Port Harcourt at the Recovery House, 36, Uyo Street, Off Stadium Road by Bereton School, Port-Harcourt, Rivers State. It will be officiated by Reverend Ugochukwu Unachukwu.

Very silly post indeed  cry  The job lagos has created b/w 2010 to 2011 is twice what Ghana would have created in the same period! Jobs are being created in Nigeria, and vast majority are in the private sector which is what Nigeria really needs. The problem we have is the pace at which jobs are being created is slow compared to the rate at which graduates/job hunters are coming through!

@topic! Whats the point of bringing in foreign entertainers when we have Nigeria stars that can rock the party? In fact recently, alot of the foreign entertainers they bring over end up complementing the works of our home grown when they go on stage to perform! Did you see the MTN project fame with Brenda/D' banj?

So you are saying that we already have enough jobs in Nigeria?. Nigeria is so saturated with jobs that we don't need extras coming from abroad?. Are you a 5th grader?.

Alloy/emeka or whatever u chose to b called

the main problem with people like u is that, u believe everone must be a crook to make a living

i bet u are not better than these politicians u are mentioning

comon grow up there are lot of honest means to make money, even in government

u are only suspecting, like most nigerians always do, u do not v fact and figure

You are right that I don't have facts and figures just like I don't have facts and figures in the case of IBB, Abacha, Nnamani, Ibori, Odili, etc. Marwa ruled Lagos for few years and floated an airline afterwards; when asked how he made his money, he claimed to have Israeli investors. How did he make the initial deposit remains a big question today. Telling me that Tinubu do not have billions is like telling us that Abacha is secretly living somewhere in Lebanon.

So it is okay to steal from the government as long as you don't leave a paper trail.

Any way Mr Beaf, dat case was thrown out of COCB yesterday for lack of merit

COC says that the prosecutors could not even establish a PRIMA FACIE  case against ASIWAJU

Aside that, it is also very sad that, WE ARE MAKING NOISE THAT A MAN WHO WAS AN ACCOUNTANT WITH MOBIL HAS FOREIGN ACCOUNT.

NOT THAT HE USES THE ACCOUNT TO STEAL MONEY O, BUT DAT HE HAS IT.

NOT EVEN THAT THE ACCOUNT WAS OPERATIONAL DURING THE TIME HE WAS GOVERNOR,

MAY BE IF SOME PPLE KNOW WHAT IT TAKES TO OPEN F/A, U WILL KNOW WHY D MAN NO CLOSE THEM JUST COS HE WAS GOVERNOR

ABEG, make una talk better matter jooooooooooooooooooo
Foreign account or not, how did Asiwaju make his billions?. From his job as Mobil accountant?.

The Prosecuting Counsel (Iziyon) or what he called himself is s disgraced.I am not doubting the fact that he may have done some under hand dealings with Tinubu.I pity for people who are celebrating the success of this case.In a developed Country where things are done properly Tinubu would have been in chains. It is pity, they way we celebrate corruption in this country.

Tinubu's name was cleared by the tribunal  is what they are gonna tell you but what hey can't explain is how Tinubu managed to make the money to float an airline. Tinubu not only stole billions from Lagos state but he continues to siphon more money out through 3rd party service companies he floated here and there.  Allegedly, Gbenga Daniel[another possible crook by the way] defied Tinubu when he refused to award Ogun contracts to Tinubu owned companies and Tinubu swore to kill him.
There is no doubt in my mind that the tribunal was paid heavily and people are shamelessly celebrating the acquittal of an embezzlement  icon. It is like the people of Bayelsa calling Obasanjo names and rioting  because he ensured that Alameighsiyaa got arrested to exporting his loot overseas. We continue to celebrate corruption in Nigeria and the chains will continue to hold us down unless we are ready to say the truth even if it is our father or twin sibling who is being accused of corruption.
Celebrities / Re: Us Entertainers Refuse To Come To Nigeria by aloyemeka1: 12:26pm On Dec 01, 2011
It matters because investors will follow suit and stop coming to Nigeria and that's jobs down the drain. I called 1800[Lenovo] number the other day and someone picked up from Ghana and I started crying because another person told me that Ghana has gained over 20k American jobs in 2011 alone. American companies do not ship jobs to only China and India now. They've changed gear to Ghana and Kenya. When you have companies like Apple, Microsoft, HP, Dell, etc looking towards Ghana for their customer service instead of Nigeria, you may need to rethink your stance on Boko Haram.

Health / S’south, N’east, N’central Most Hiv Endemic Areas –expert by aloyemeka1: 1:16am On Dec 01, 2011
Thursday, 01 December 2011 00:37
S’South, N’East, N’Central most HIV endemic areas –Expert

Executive Director of Plateau State AIDS Control Agency, Dr. Francis Magaji, has described the South-South, North-East and North-Central as the most HIV endemic areas in the country.

He attributed the trend to the persistent ethno-religious crises in the areas. The director said however that the prevalence rate was not the same in some states in the three regions.

Magaji, who spoke on Wednesday at a workshop in Jos, Plateau State capital lamented that the state capital had continued to witness increasing number of people living with the virus because of the persistent crises, which appeared to have defied solution in the state.

He said, “The HIV scourge is stabilising nationally, but across the states is a mix bag. Whereas in some states it is reducing, in some others, it is rising. For others it has also been stabilising just as it is at the national level.

“The three geo-political zones in the country that are worst hit are the North-East, North-Central and South-South. This is because the three geo-political zones have been worst hit with conflicts in the past five years and this has a link with HIV/AIDS.”

He lamented the sudden rise in the number of people living with the disease in Plateau from 2.6 per cent in 2008 to 7.7 per cent in 2010 making it the sixth state in the country with people living with the dreaded disease.

Magaji said, “The last HIV zero-prevalence survey showed that Plateau State has prevalence of 7.7 per cent and the sixth out of 36 states and FCT with the highest HIV burden in Nigeria. Though it is unfortunate that the states with the highest rates are Benue (12.7 per cent); Akwa–Ibom (10.9 per cent); Bayelsa (9.1 per cent); Anambra (8.7 per cent); and FCT (8.6 per cent), this is based on statistics published and it is indeed very sad that the effort put in curbing the spread has been in the reverse.”

Executive Chairman of Civil Society, Dr. John Junung, represented by Rev. Lesmond Ezekiel, said the task of combating the HIV scourge in the country was a collective one irrespective of religion, ethnicity and political affiliation.

He added that the sudden rise in the number of people living with the disease, particularly in Plateau State as a result of persistent violence was a cause for concern.

Junung urged people to work together for the maintenance of peace in the state.

Man, 47, accuses wife of negligence, wants divorce
on NOVEMBER 29, 2011 · in NEWS

Lagos -A plank seller, Musa Abdullai, 47, on Tuesday dragged his wife, Mariam, to an Ikorodu Customary Court, Lagos, asking for dissolution of their 15-year-old marriage.

Abdullai accused his wife of negligence towards the children and the family.

The petitioner, who has three children by Mariam, wanted the dissolution because of her unruly behaviour lately.

“My wife is very troublesome, and very stubborn. She is disobedient and does not know how to take care of the family.

“She does not give the children food on time, or rather, she prefers feeding them with remnants she brought from parties,“ he said.

The respondent, Mariam, 38, denied all her husband’s allegations and begged the court not to grant the petitioner’s request.

“Its been long my husband dropped money for food at home.

“At times I would only have N100 with me, which is why if they are doing any party around the house, I would tell them (children) to go and get food from there.

“I pay for almost everything in the house,“ she said.

Mariam told the court to appeal to her husband as she was not ready to quit the marriage.

The Court President, Alhaji Nojeem Isiaka then told the wife to kneel down and beg her husband for true reconciliation, which she obediently obliged.

Isiaka, however, adjourned further hearing till Dec.12 for possible reconciliation. (NAN)

Travel / Nigeria Immigration Deports 25 Chinese With Irregular Residential Permits by aloyemeka1: 1:06am On Dec 01, 2011
Immigration repatriates 25 Chinese
From ADETUTU FOLASADE-KOYI, Abuja
Wednesday, November 30 , 2011

Comptroller-General of Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) Mrs. Rose Uzoma has said that 25 Chinese with irregular resident permits have been repatriated to China by the Service.

Mrs. Uzoma who made the disclosure to the Senate Committee on Federal Character and Inter-Governmental Affairs who were on oversight tour of the agency in Abuja also said that about 400, 000 foreigners reside in Nigeria.

She said this when the Senator Dahiru Kuta-led committee visited the NIS on an oversight tour yesterday after being charged on security of the nation’s borders and prevention of proliferation of small arms in the country.
The Immigration boss noted that Nigeria is less attractive for foreign investors when compared to other African countries like Ghana, Cote d’Voire and Kenya.

“You have heard so much about Chinese staying illegally in Nigeria, we do remove Chinese regularly. If we discover them we remove them. Last week we removed 25 Chinese, we depoted those who committed crimes.

“I am not saying that you cannot find one or two foreigners who are not leaving here on regular immigration status. But, again, there is no country in the world where you cannot find such people.
“Seeing foreigners on the streets of Nigeria does not mean that they are of irregular status. Most of them are legal residents. Distinguished Senators, there are not many foreigners in Nigeria. We have well over just 300, 000 legally resident in Nigeria in a population of over 160 million people.

“Those of us who travel, when you are coming back to Nigeria, I am sure you can count the numbers of foreigners in the aircraft. Nigeria is not yet a destination of choice. You see foreigners in Senegal, there are more in Ghana, Ivory Coast, Kenya and other places’ you see lots of tourists there.”
The Comptroller-General who also responded to the Senators on the rising incidences of human trafficking in Nigeria, said the NIS was encumbered by inadequate staff and finance to tackle the menace.

She added that with about 23000 staff, the NIS could not properly man the nations land borders, but added that the international airports have been properly upgraded to combat any attempt at trafficking.
