This is a case of undeserved monopoly; what we need is comfort for the population mehn. Open the borders let the price crash so that governor Dangote can put his acts together

Good intention but pursued in a wrong manner.
Until the government learns that politics should be removed from healthcare delivery, they will continue to be flown abroad after every episode of food poisoning.

What bussiness has the government got in buying free drugs, eye glasses etc....

What Nigerians want now is a self sustaining system not cheap ploitical points from some deranged political minds. You buy free drugs (contracts for your padi padi dem)- an opportunity to share our taxes and resources.

The government should renovate and equip the hospitals employ workers there and train them. They should then hand off the rest. An average general hospital or comprehensive health centre serves more than 1000% of the population it was meant for, you see 2-3 miserable doctors who aren't sponsored to update their knowledge in such facilities and you expect wonder!

There is community health insurance- the government may want to pay the premium on behalf of their citizens. Such that when those peasants get to the hospital of their choice, they get properly treated without paying a dime and without the government getting involved or bragging. Let the government monitor and regulate the activities of healthcare providers and see if they won't achieve better healthcare delivery.

You buy free drugs through shady contract deals and the drugs get stolen by collaborators and swines in the hospital. People get there and they hear the common phrase in such programmes- "free drug out of stock".

Too much disdain for what is urs and unnecessary zeal for what is white and foreign. You import some albinos from Saudi Arabia, house and feed them and pay them in hard dollars that you don't have while your people wallow in poverty and hunger.
The government has a lot of ophthalmologists and optometrists on on its payroll; why doesn't it induce them a little and use them fir such free things? No, they won't cos choppings won't go round.

I'm from Osun state, a de vex wen ogbeni wey a respect de get involved in this kain thin.
So, after the free thing through the sharia albinos, what happens to the people? They are left to take their destinies to those morgues of healthcare facilities!

I just noticed that the word to go version on the PlayBook is a little primitive!
It doesn't display charts and graphs
I tried opening similar Microsoft word documents on my BlackBerry smartphone and behold I see my charts and graphs.
This is my second disappointment since I got the PlayBook.
Is there anyway to overcome this?
Was there an update I missed out?

I'm not an engineer but I know the world of engineering designs has moved far. IF you are building or creating or inventing, you need to build on basic principles and measure against what is known and acceptable presently.
In late primary and early secondary school when our knowledge was still very limited and our views narrow, we conceived lots of unimaginable things like this contraption. A classmate was even going to build a camera that would use a regular photographic film- laughable!
Unfortunately, after almost 30 years that we left that stage, an adult goes back to that level and people think he is to be celebrated.
I see a lot of people we should look up to disrespecting their seniors in experience and knowledge. Children think of outcome without consequences; they think of events in isolation without due consideration for external influence.

alextayo: Everybody may have idea about music, but it takes extensive study and training to bring out the best in you and these studies/training does not come free. How do you expect me to play for a church for free when it cost me many thousands of NAIRA to even get MUSON Grade 6 certificate. If intrumentalist are to play for free in churches, then the church should be ready to bear the financial cost of their training. Instrumentalist spend money to purchase their instruments, the church collects money through offering, tithe and other means, pockets the money and all you get to hear from the Pastor is God Bless you.

My Brothers it doesnt work that way.... go to Orpheus bookshop at Awolowo Road, Ikoyi or Ilupeju, The Saints Music Store and Emycil both at Ojuelegba and ask how much a music manuscript cost... Music is a profession and i dont think any professional works for free.

If you are the type that supports instrumentalist playing for free in churches, its not too late for you to go to a music school, use your salary to buy books, instrument and pay for tuition, then after your graduation.. go to churches and play for "MAY GOD REWARD YOUR EFFORT" words from the Pastor.

Apart from just the cost of training, most of these 'guys' are professionals and playing music is their job. It is therefore necessary to know that they are not members of the church but employees of the church.
This fact is well understood in the Anglican, Catholic, Baptists churches because they struggle to get organists and other instrumentalists to employ. It is however difficult for the penticostal mind to understand since everyone "works for God" but the pastor or "daddy" who gets paid for his work for God.

Include my downloads into it. Then anybody can come along with HD or Large Memory cards n flash and get the full package. Whateva fee agreed on would be shared. That help with just one courier cost and no need to buy a lot of flash drives. Let me know what you guys think.

This is really a nice concept. Thumbs up to all the great guys here. I used to have dvd loads of free and cracked symbian apps till they fell out of favour.

They aren't doing us a favour by providing ATM. They are doing demselves a favour. Without the machines, they will need to employ more staff to cope with loads of people that just want to check their balance, withdraw etc. Taking care of every staff goes beyond just the salary.
They will need to expand their banking halls and make them more comfortable.
Sure they can sacrifice the N100 per withdrawal they have been stealing from us.

It is very clear now that nobody wants to carry the other's burden since if the dr enters your office (law office) the following morning without cash you will refuse to attend to him too.

With new programmes being roled out by the NHIS, it is possible for every single person to have a form of health insurance and be protected from this kind of unfortunate situation even if you are not a federal government employee.

Corpers are now fully covered by health insurance throughout their service year, tertiary institutions students are also fully covered now (I'm aware some schools have refused to subscribe though.)

The most recent is the private contributor scheme in which you (anybody) are expected to pay a very small amount of premium per annum and all your health needs (dependent on the "bouquet" you buy) for the year is covered.

We should not be ignorant of all these things we can surely afford yet we suffer.

Though not the case here, it is also possible in some cases that people get rushed to facilities where they may not get help.
When such facilities say pls rush to bigger hospital, we may need to try and understand because a big building doesn't necessarily mean having the competent personnel, equipments or facilities to take of such a case. It may not be about money all the time.
It is strange when people beg you to do anything you can to help under such circumstances and you fully know that every single second you keep the patient (in the name of trying to doing something) drags d person farther away from wellness.

Sincerely it doesn't matter. An emergency may sprout up anywhere and at anytime and the most reasonable thing to do is present to the closest hospital no matter the antenatal booking status. The other thing is that in the face of emergency, the even the big men may not have cash handy. It may be in the middle of the night, weekend after you must exhausted all you could obtain from ATM etc.

I stand to be corrected, no hospital, doctor or nurse, private, mission or government has the right to deny anybody a live-saving intervention because of money. You may even use legal means to retrieve what you are owed with interest on top after the life has been saved.

I must also reiterate that so many hospitals are not protected in Nigeria, people never pay bills and hospitals run at a loss. It aint fair at all.
That however should never be an excuse to allow even a destitute to suffer permanent damage/injury or death due to inability to pay deposit or clear bills.
Some children have become motherless now by this action and they will never attain their full potentials in life. A husband now a widower etc...

After all said, every businessman sets out to make profit, feeds his family and pay his own bills too. There should be a legislation against owing medical bills and the laws should be empowered to enable such bills to be retrieved possibly with interest.
