I have difficulties registering my yahoo email on my PlayBook. I tried several times but I kept on getting an error message.
I am sure my yahoo mail doesn't have any problems. Is yahoo mail not registerable on the PlayBook?

Mehn u guys have been enjoying yourself with this wonderful machine called the PlayBook.
See all the swipes and the sideloading all over the place.
I tried this machine today with 3G on mtn bridging and it was wonderful. I have never seen this on any tablet.
The swipes are something else,no keypad no button.
Guys I am sorry if I sound like a JJC,tis excitement over RIM. Can't believe they have this advantage over all the others and they allowed the market to slip out of their hands.
Thanks to all the gurus in the house.

How far with the plane a beg? Any semi-official report on why that happened yet?

Bad weather somewhere maybe.
On the day Arik was picketed, I had to fly with Overland from Abuja to Lag. We "overed" over Ibadan for almost one hour because of some unfavourable weather conditions in Lagos.

It was a nice experience but scary. The altitude was low and one could appreciate the aerial view of Ibadan but the frequency and intensity of turbulence at this level was scary..

Enflish tisha, how am I do or did? Lol..

HealthRe: FRSC To Hospitals : Reject Accident Victims & Be Charged To Court by alstacs(m): 12:49am On Sep 25, 2012
uncle u: There are many reasons private hospitals reject accident victims. The first is that most of them might lack the capacity to treat them. The commonest cause of death in case of road traffic accident is bleeding and most hospitals might not be able to provide that immediately. In such cases, it is usually better to refer the patient to a tertiary center where blood will be available. If the source of bleeding is obvious, most hospitals will try to stop it and refer immediately.

Like already stated by many here, the second reason is issue of recovering money spent on treating those accident victims.

The third which nobody has mentioned here is that most private hospitals will not want an accident victim to die in their hospital especially when the victim is not accompanied by relatives.

From my experience, the best place to treat accident victims is still in a tertiary center and that is where they should be moved to immediately. The addidional say few minutes gap between a mushroom private hospital and tertiary hospital is meaninless when you realise that that hospital might spend an hour looking for their doctor or two hours looking for blood.
Tertiary centre? Why? Do you mean government hospitals?
What about cottage hospitals? General hospitals? Comprehensive health centres?
Doesn't it depend on the degree of injuries?

Parnassuss: Brink of collapsehuh Bros from where you carry this gist come nah? Abeg they have outstanding bills doesn't mean they can't meet overheads and stuff, its just their payment plan that was effed up. Besides we don't know when they even secured this loan and why. It'll surprise u to know its been on for over 4 yrs sef!
Loan ke? If you check the breakdown of your fares, you will notice that there are a lot of charges like tax, handling charges etc that the airlines collect on behalf of the agencies who should have them. The airlines collect this money from passengers and pocket it instead of remitting such to the agencies who should have them.
This is the debt. I was stranded at both Lag and Abuja airports on the day of Arik picketting, the unions also accused them of owing salaries, allowances etc. They were also accused of deducting tax from their staff without remmiting such, so officially, the staff don't pay tax.
I can assure you therefore that all is not well with some of these airlines.
It will be a shame however if they are allowed to go under without something drastic being done.

The airports from that day became like bus stops where people beat themselves to buy tickets at unbelievable prices.

God save Nigeria.

noblezone: Dear Moslems,

I need answers not rhetoricso:

Rheinhard Bonke a preacher was coming peacefully to Kano for a crusade:
Moslems came out iin their thousands and killed, maimed and looted Christians without any provocation.

Why?

A female teacher was killed by secondary school students (minors) on accusation of deiling the holy book (she seized a copy of Koran used by one of Mohammed's followers to cheat in an exam she was supervising).

Why?
During the miss world contest, someone said something about the prophet- Kaduna went up in flames!

America attacked a country in the middle east, the whole northern Nigeria went up in flames.
for the christians to bring out a verse to support their claim.
I appreciate the fact that you are open and liberal, the concept of searching for just verses is dangerous however. Books, and more importantly holy books, are to be interpreted in context rather than in verses isolation. People that interpret and rely on sentences and verses in isolation may easily get misled and may become dangerous to the religion which they practice.

....just saying...
Polyandry creates a lot of problem.
One of them is the Identity of the child, though that can be solved through DNA test, its still not the best option.
Also,a woman married to many husbands won't be able to attend to their various needs at the same time.there's bound to be a clash.
There is no such thing as normal or norm that is universally common, every culture, community or people fixes norms.

You (along with some other people that posted earlier) said this cos you believe that patriarchal family system is the norm when there are indeed some communities with the matriarchal system.

So nothing is against the law of nature, it is just that what is seen as law of nature is a situation that is common to many cultures and races.

Nairaland is a great place. I visit at different times for various reasons.
I follow some threads cos I know occasionally there will be some amusingly silly posts interspersed among the straight ones; irritating, insulting, funny slangs, unrelated side attractions are all enjoyable when the head is full of worries.

Some are so amusing and stupid that I send links to friends who don't visit NL just to see the many colours of the Nigerian society. That is after laughing out (embarrassingly atimes) to myself.

Kindly leave the GARRI terror group alone oh. They may be reason (partly) why some people have not run mad from "over-seriousness"

it is so pathetic that despite number of accidents along the rail tracks, proper measures have not been taken to ensure that such are not repeated.
How do vehicles get to cross the rails when a train is approaching?
How come some vehicles get parked very close to the rail tracks?
Must we have a major disaster before something is done about it?

PhonesRe: Samsung To Appeal $1bn Damages Payment To Apple by alstacs(op): 2:06pm On Aug 26, 2012
Does Apple or Samsung have the claim to the tablet design and the slim-touch screen design phones?
PhonesRe: Samsung To Appeal $1bn Damages Payment To Apple by alstacs(op): 2:52am On Aug 26, 2012
The design stealing didn't just start today. Samsung too has issues against Apple:

Samsung in turn demanded a "reasonable royalty rate" for five patents which it claims Apple has infringed.

Two of these relate to mobile phones' ability to use 3G technology. These are called standard-essential patents since the innovations are necessary to offer a feature recognised as an industry-standard which must therefore be offered and licensed on "fair and reasonable terms".

The Galaxy S3 maker's three other patent claims cover the integration of a mobile phone, digital camera and email into a single device; bookmarking a picture in an image gallery; and using an app while continuing to listen to music in the background.

Although Samsung's trial brief did not specify a sum that it thinks it is owed, Apple's filing suggests its rival is seeking a share of 2.4% of the sale price of its products for the standards-essential patents alone.
