Scrap the scrap called NYSC. It is the longest and worst project ever sustained in the country. The dream of our fathers were that it will serve as a unifier but that ship has long sailed. The fabrics of this country can never be stitched together by the concept of NYSC but by the doctrine of Nationalism and Patriotism. The love for the country is rooted in the attitude of the leaders and never the people. The people have love in abundance but their leaders have scarcity.

I'm really struggling to see the logic in your argument on one hand you are saying national cohesion can be engendered by doctrine of nationalism and patriotism and on the other hand you're calling for the scrapping of the very NYSC that is spearheading the national integration.

For most Nigerian graduates the NYSC is the only platform they'll ever have to leave their place of abode to interact and see the other side of the country with the cultures and lifestyles.

NYSC is a veritable platform and vehicle for national integration, many have found life partners, friends and yet some have taken up residency in their place of service after the expiration of their service year in the scheme. If you did not enjoy your NYSC experience I sure did and I believe many others did as well.
